The current lieutenant governor announced her Republican candidacy for 2020 five's gubernatorial race. With your support. We can secure the future of Virginia and make sure that the values that we cherish remain strong. Sears is a Jamaican immigrant. Her family moved to New York when she was six. She's also a marine veteran, a story like mine, a Jamaican immigrant, a United States marine, a former delegate. And now you lieutenant governor. That story is only possible in America attendees like Cindy Marston and Lisa Reid say they fully support sears' campaign. I love her. I love her the whole package. I think she's fantastic and she's a conservative and I would vote for her in 2022. Sears said she would not support former President Donald Trump's candidacy in 2024 but she has since changed that tune, including on Thursday evening in 2024. That means standing with President Trump, both Marston and Reed say they aren't bothered by the shift because what you see right now in our governance is very bad. Everybody has a right to change their mind. I think when you get down to it, you need to focus on the things that you have in common and not the things that divide you currently. The Democratic Governors Association commented on Sears announcement in a statement saying in part quote instead of addressing the issues that Virginians care about. Most Sears is only interested in pushing a dangerous agenda that will rip away freedoms and make life worse for working families.
