are Maddox Megan and Cameron man it feels good that it's Friday let me tell you cuz although this was a short week this was one of the most jam-packed absolutely Bonkers news uh uh filled weeks um but you know I could go on about my week guys how was the short week for you guys uh a little bit stressful especially have like an assignment for one class that is due basically next Monday which I'm trying to push back for another like couple of days but other than that just preparing for uh tomorrow's uh FAU army game be calling for the game for uh fa radio you can check that on tune in radio or over the breeze white yep yep I'm looking forward to that you've done you've done a good amount of research which maybe we could share some of those facts if you're down when we get into that but Megan how's this week going for you I already know how it's going for you but please enlighten the people this week has just it has been hectic it started out crazy um I don't want to go let me just my flight to Michigan from Michigan it got cancelled so that whole game I started out this week by driving back from Michigan so that's just how my week started out and it's wrapped up a little crazy as well but I'm excited I'm going to the bonfire tonight and Sha's going to be DJing yeah yeah uh four-time Champion uh DJ diesel is going to be here uh DJing for for the uh annual bonfire um any of you guys go into that besides Megan uh no I got to prepare for tomorrow game you got to lock you're locked in uh I've had a great week unfortunately not unfortunately actually no that's great I've had a great week uh I won't be at the bonfire but like madx said I'm excited watch some FAU football tomorrow not going to spoil what we have to talk about but things it's going to be interesting so I ran for 247 Sports I will be yeah yeah 247 we locked in as you can see we got new drip courtesy at Al TV looking like SM today uh but no we're we're locked in uh shout out to them they just had their General meetings uh today Fridays at 1:00 p.m. which you can always pull up to in room what room are we in 231 231 thank you Mattis what would I do without you uh like we always do in every show we're going to get into our FAU housekeeping which is just making sure that before we get into topics of NFL NBA national sports we want to make sure we cover home base um so uh Brian White has signed a 5year extension which I thought I had a link to but before I pull up the specifics about that uh first thoughts guys uh I'm uh glad that he did this actually tweeted about that how glad was that Brian White got an extension this guy brought in FAU from Conference USA to the American Athletic Conference brought in coach Herman Brian Dusty May and not Brian coach John Jack who hopefully will be a great coach as well find a big shoes a fellow from what Dusty May did but so far made great decisions as a athletic director especially his new age in college uh Sports especially college football so I'm excited to see the future of the hols once they become alumni yeah absolutely uh president vck had announced the contract extension uh via a press release and this now has uh the vice president and the director of Athletics uh tied until 2029 and I just think um you know when this news was announced I think it goes to show um you know like you said he brought us to the AC um you know got coach May who then ended up you know going to Michigan and power five school um he probably had a ton of interest from from Power Force schools um all over the country um so I think it it really goes to show the uh the loyalty and you know how much he really believes in in FA as as uh you know uh something to really like build with you know what I mean I think a lot of people um you know we mention this at the up all the time about being a part of something uh from scratch and I think Brian White probably feels you know that this is something that he started from scratch and that he's building up and you know he didn't want to go somewhere else uh that already has a great history of Athletics he wants to create that history I think that's really great to the and to the average fan this might not seem like the biggest uh news but Matt just kind of hinted at hinted at it um with like the time we're in this is it's really really important to lock down someone like Brian White as your athletic director he's someone that's very well connected across the industry he's someone that's really well respected across the industry so locking him down until 2029 I think it was um when we're about to start you know Revenue sharing here in about a year depending on how that goes um things are going to keep changing they're changing already they're going to keep changing um and at a time when FAU doesn't have a president uh signing him on someone who like we said he shephered us from C USA to the AAC hired a bunch of really really great guys um locking down someone like him is important uh at this time so I think it's it's it's good news to hear yeah also like he clearly understands kind of the whole Brand's image that fa is trying to go for like with the recent decision to have the nil and Paradise like it was a good choice and I'm sure that he played a factor in that and like um all three of you have said the recruits that he's made coaching wise it it's almost kind of like feu's becoming like his child and he probably wanted to like stick with it you know he's building up the school um so it's a great extension for them 18 years can make of 18 years yeah right make sure the school comes of age first um but yeah uh just some stats here from the press release uh the 2023 2024 uh year uh culminated with Florida Atlantic boasting $23 million in athletic fundraising an all-time high for the third consecutive year Athletics fundraising climbed 51% over last year and an astounding 540 per over 2020 to 2021 White staff has Sol solicited 34 six and seven figure gifts to Athletics over the past 6 years the most in any six-year span in school history so like Cameron was saying this guy is well connected and um I think one thing that's you know you know at a moment in a time where FAU no longer has president which if you were not informed on that we are covering at the University press the presidential search but let's stay on the sports side of things uh Brian White um you know he's clearly uh has a vision um for athletics especially with you know the new nil um you know movement in college athletics and it's very vital to be uh a face in the community that people recognize only not only for the civilians and the students but obviously for the donors and and and the just to keep it Frank the rich people in the community because that's what's going to really uh you know keep uh Athletics going and and and expanding and um I guess the hope is is uh by the end of this 5year contract that we have a new basketball arena which is at the top of everyone's mind since um you know tickets are always um you know they're hard to come by they're hard to come by so you know uh definitely a a great great move and um you know looking forward to what the next 5 years look like for Brian White and Athletics getting moving into FAU football FAU will play army tomorrow 12:00 pm kickoff it'll be the home opener of the season for FAU this will also be the first matchup between FAU and Army in school history so that's always fun whenever a school gets to play uh a new opponent for the first time and be a part of that history and this has also be the first a matchup of the season so a lot of first um for for both s both teams um exciting matchup um you know what what what do you guys think is is one thing that you guys are looking forward to are are going to keep note of going to this game obviously last last show we all mentioned the triple option um offense that Army runs which I guess if I could even try to explain that without a visual it's you know the triple option your three options are the quarterback runs the ball the running back runs the ball or another running back runs the ball so um just constant having to stay on your toes um you know for for what that offense is going to throw at you we know that they're not going to pass the ball that much uh they're they're starting quarterback threw the ball six times last game and they still put up over 40 points so what are some kind of things that you guys are are going to be looking for C I'm I'll start off you know just the defense being really really sound you know throughout the entire game uh you hinted at it a little bit uh the triple option you know it's design designed you know to deceive a defense it's want you get to chasing the ball one way just to go the other way so Herman kind of said it himself you want to be almost like you have to be perfect almost on every single play even with you know a roster that's probably I'd say a lot more talented than Army so the defense being really uh Gap sound really scheme sound um through all four quarters that's kind of what I'm looking for we got to see it for a little bit um against Michigan State um but there were some breakdowns and believe it or not I think you're that defense is especially up front you're going to get put to the test a little bit more this week so that's what I'm looking for absolutely no I think that's definitely a good point and I think it'll be important to see what those defensive rotations look like because you know that front seven if they're dealing with Run play after Run play after Run play especially with a 1200m kick you know the the it's going to start to wear down on you so it'll be interesting to see if we have some more guys cycling and they should I'm glad you bring that up because you know defensive line somewhere as a kind of a position they targeted in the off season especially in the transfer portal uh three of their highest rated transfer or three of their four highest rated transfers were on the defensive line so tomorrow you're right we are going to see uh what that kind of depth looks like yeah what any takeaways for you guys I mean I'm excited to see what the offense will do this time around you know cam Fincher we he we really saw that he could run the ball in this Michigan State game maybe a little too much well that's what I'm curious to see like are is the offensive coordinator going to tell him hey don't run the ball as much are they still going to lean into that but do it in a safer manner um cuz certain runs weren't that safe and his helmet kept coming off um so hopefully we don't see that happening as much um but also just seeing what type of plays that the offense can put together CU I feel like we didn't really ever see them flowing that well there were certain moments in time that they were um but that's what I'm looking to see is if the offense can make some more connections with receivers especially they're playing at home this time so they won't really have um that like external crowd Factor um yeah uh so I do have to fall back on what Megan said Remember at the presser coach Herman was saying how after the game he was and during practice he was speaking to cam fantry like hey like try not to slide try like dive try not like slide too much or too too late try not get injured cam noses an issue so we're going to probably not see that many slides by B if he's running however big thing of course is a triple option effect and seeing how this defense for FAU which is we've seen from last game really good defense see how they play against as unpredictable type of offense like triple option especially with a team full of uh transfer guys especially in the secondary and then for the offense just seeing how well they mesh together like the first game was the first game of the week you're on on the road against a power five power four School kind of difficult especially with a lot of guys on roster are either freshman or transfers a lot of like new faces especially the right tackle position so seeing how that offense offensive line mesh together probably be a little bit better this time since they saw some tape saw what they could do better last game but also now the all walk now being front of the fans at this noon game exciting atmosphere first game honoring military which is very close to home for Coach Herman being in that atmosphere I feel like it be much better upside for the offense especially if they started the ball early on and set the tone for the game for the offense yeah that was definitely uh the main takeaway that I had had not Echo a little bit of bite what you guys had is to see how the team plays at home obviously it should be a more comfortable situation for them but I was actually reading some reports um that it'll actually be a pretty packed game due to the Army connection a lot of ROTC Cadets will be there in attendance so there may not be too many uh owl supporters um at this game but I guess we'll have to to wait and see but we'll see the stud see what the alumni do got to show up yeah yeah students and alumni have to show up and and show their support they definitely do play a huge role uh in the morale and you know the the overall strength of the team um but yeah I think a lot of valuable points you know we have to see what the offense is going to look like um you know they there wasn't too much to look at since uh receivers weren't getting open the o line wasn't holding up so hopefully there can be um you know some good drives actually put together here um I think we will I mean I think you're going to see like you're going to get to see a lot more of what like the offense is supposed to look like and you know Megan Conor brought up how many times is he going to running the ball a lot less probably than Army I don't think it was on purpose you know I don't think coach friy Drew up cam faner carrying the ball 25 times 13 more than the next leading rusher um I think you're going to definitely going to see him a lot more comfortable um I think the pass protection isn't going to be as overwhelmed which they were against Michigan State um so I definitely think we're going to you're going to get to see a lot more of like receivers some some of those like connections with fer like I think we're going to get to see it more tomorrow and actually I was thinking back to what you were saying JD about the atmosphere in in the crowd and like how big that be a factor for the team because camon and I were both there at the press for Tuesday and Jan plat um who were scored the only TouchDown for FAU in his first career touchdown at FAU he was saying how he loves being in the atmosphere at FAU especially when the crowd's so packed so definitely uh motivates the players a lot seeing how many fans show up in the um just like the fan base and like the school spirit uh and that stadium so especially going against a tough opponent like Army um would be definitely an important big factor to having uh fans at the game especially since majority of our crowd look to be like ROTC uh Army fans be good to see some more FAU fans in the Sands be like a million degrees at that game too that's what the projected temperature is supposed to be like 90 something but it's going to feel like 108 and Army's wearing all black yeah I think wearing the sand one which I predict him my one t they were the Sam ones yeah wearing back I think that's a good uniform match up um I was going to say I got an email from the school and it was something like they only have like 2,300 tickets left so it's going to like it's it'll be packed and that was B that email was on like Tuesday or so so I'm sure they've gotten probably another thousand since then yeah um but it'll be interesting to see like the human element since it's uh 12:00 p.m. kick that also means a way earlier tailgate um and you know for the people of legal drinking age um and unfortunately the people that are not of age that will be drinking tomorrow um just I my message my PSA to all of you stay hydrated please wake up early to eat breakfast don't eat bre don't skip breakfast don't have a white claw for breakfast like please get hydrated um but yeah it'll be interesting to see because you know they're probably maybe there are plans to have a full Stadium but if people are crashing out um or just you know don't end up making it to 12:00 p.m. kick because it's going to be so hot um you know we'll just have to wait and see I'll probably be enjoying it the game from the comfort of my home in air conditioning why you hating well you're going to cover it so right yeah get I would say be stay the entire game please fans yeah if you're going to go stay the entire game uh and support FAU be televised also so mean great to see like some uh publicity for fa at football is showing hey we're fa is a football school because like how big this student section is how big the crowd is so yeah it'll be interesting to see what the turnout is um but we're we're going to uh end off this segment with uh what our game score predictions are going to uh we do have a staff predictions that will be going up uh later today 6 p.m. um and you know you can read that at ESS online but um we're going to get into it right now uh just as a sneak peek for me I have FAU winning 24-10 uh against Army I just think that the offense is going to look way more connected uh than they you know would have looked um I I I had said that I didn't really want to judge a team uh that was playing a power force school at home um and you know fer was getting his head knocked off um you know got targeted twice so I think the offense will definitely be way more put together um and I I I trust the defense to to be disciplined enough especially under uh defensive coordinator uh Rock bellaton I think they'll be locked in on on the triple option uh my only concern is uh any play action that Army decides to set up when they do decide to throw the ball because they're probably going to have be really locked in on their gaps and and making sure that their mans are covered in the in the triple option um but I think if the offense can just be serviceable enough the defense will help them play uh the field of position battle help them win that side of the ball um and then I think the offense will do just enough to to get by and and have a nice win at home yeah um I'm predicting 214 FAU losing um just because my spicy um not I'm not saying I don't have faith in them it's just I don't think they're going to win with um you know their defense it did look very solid but like we've said with the triple threat option I just am concerned with the clock um because that type of defensive style it really takes up more time and starting off the Michigan State game feu's offense compar like the time comparison at the start of the game was crazy like the offense was struggling maintaining the ball for long periods of time so if that starts again that's where my concern comes in is just that the defense is going to get exhausted especially with the heat Factor as well um so that's kind of the main reason just because of the clock almost yeah absolutely cam um I was thinking that FAU wins 31-21 just because I think the offense might uh still look a little bit disjointed at the beginning of the game and I think there might be early on a couple breakdowns on defense just them trying to get like you know accustomed to playing against a triple option live and in game um so I think it probably might go into halftime a little closer or maybe with even Army uh in the lead uh but I think they might wear down after a while and ultimately I think that the offense like I said we're going to start to see them get more comfortable we're going to see uh put actual Drives together um and I think ultimately Army wears down after Wildland FAU wins 3121 I'm glad I'm glad somebody has some faith on the panel madx madx can unfortunately not share his predictions he's being a good journalist as he'll be broadcasting the game for weeks I'm going calling a volleyball my first time calling volleyball some like got understanding and the guy kept saying like Kaboom so I was like looking up like synonyms for that like one was like Wham I was like maybe that I mean the it's got to be organic it's got to be organic it's got to be you just like calling a game and like it comes out and you're like wow that was a really good and just roll with it a lot of professional broadcasters do say that like over the over time they like work with like Words catch phrases I kind of to them so it it'll come to you I I feel I feel I think I when I when I tune in tomorrow I'm gonna I'm going to peep it maybe it'll be tremendous yeah tremendous could be your go-to it's already been the go-to for the show but like yeah I think of Eric Reed who does the the local broadcast his is uh Kaboom I I believe um Mike Breen has bang one probably Stark no one can take that yeah that's one of the most iconic ones but yeah I don't know what my cash phase would be either but I hope like Cam said it would just kind of be like organic it just happens yeah and it just happens but um before we get into that's all we have for fa housekeeping um you know honestly I'm like just waiting for us to be like in full effect for the fall basketball football uh all the other sports um because right now we're just uh sitting on our heels waiting for media online like we said last show guys we're back we were so back we had the first uh game of the season for the NFL Chiefs versus Ravens um I'm going to be honest I didn't really get to catch too much of it um it was a really good game yeah what you guys would you was it a good game cuz it was it like I when I was catching bits and pieces it was what 107 going into the half I know it picked up towards the end no I think it was like I think it was like 1310 probably going into the half yeah I saw vo little bit of that game CU I Was preparing my notes for this Army FAU game but I saw the very end of I saw that that touchdown from Isaiah likely the toe to he he it literally looked like it looked like he was out B did you see what Patrick Mahomes said in the press conference he was like next time wear white shoes oh yeah but like Lamar Jack's like oh in all honesty didn't look like he was steing out of bounds you can clearly see his like toe on the wide line which means he was out like yeah clearly yeah well you know what they say about football it's a game of inches yeah and I really proed it yeah for sure but yeah okay well I'm glad it was a good game to open up the season and you it's unfortunate that um you I think with seon openers the first we um it's always interesting to see teams are starting off uh with a loss on the record you know Ravens being uh coming off an AFC championship appearance and losing to the Chiefs last season um you know this kind of felt like a good opportunity for them to get their lick back and um unfortunately it didn't P um it didn't turn out in their favor but I just I feel like I'm not a betting man uh we've already discussed why it feels it feels too good so I just can't bet ever again but um Tak can't can't you can't no not taking the over not taking Aiden child's advice um but um you just can't I just feel like you can't bet against Mahomes I just you really can't and with that I would say if you had to place a bet would you guys place a bet on the Chiefs to three repat this year I mean I think they as you call it right now they have as good a chance just going off that game if we're going to make flaming takes they still have like a as good a chance as anybody CU I look at that game and you know watching Patrick Mahomes last night I don't think that was his most you know Transcendent performance of like his entire career but you look at the statute he was 20 for 28 for almost 300 yards um and a touchdown to one interception that's a and a win against probably one of the better contenders in the NFL that's a pretty you know quietly inefficient night um so to think that they'll probably get better uh over the entire season and I think their defense um did a pretty good job of slowing down Lamar Jackson last night but again I think they're going to get better over the entire uh season um I think you know as you call it right now think they have a good chance as anybody at the Super Bowl yeah I I would say that you know I feel like usually when when New Seasons come around you know the offseason happens you know players move around the draft happens and you know the odds go up and down and I feel like people don't always want to be so quick to name the reigning Super Bowl champion um you know the favorite going into the next year but I just think like you said it may have not been mahomes's like greatest performance of his career but I just think he's reached uh to use your word a Transcendent point where he just is consistently above the pack you know what I mean Lamar you could say Lamar had a better game than him St statistically but it just it seems like momes and this is probably some glazing but like it feels like he's just reached a point that we kind of just ex that you just I I never really feel like they're in danger of losing I just feel like they're always of like the win is always in his hands like and that's how it ended up you know with the Super Bowl win uh last year against the Niners you know if you allow momes to put together a game-winning Drive he's going to be able to do that so uh I have them as the favorites um I think it's going to be absolutely insane to see a three Pat I just don't see a a clear Challenger because um you know every team in the NFL has flaws um as of right now I think the chief's flaw was the same as last year that the receiving core isn't really you know maybe up to the rest of the league standard but you know bringing in Xavier worthy he had an incredible game yesterday wish I would have drafted him same thought that too want to hear something crazy I drafted him and had him on the bench last night how many points was it I want I would have to look I would say it was SC two touchdowns so like he definitely has to good after a while I was like okay I'm getting mad like he's on the bench but honestly I don't think he's going to be uh that productive well he's definitely not going to be as productive as he was last game yeah like that was a real busted coverage like there was no within with within like 10 yards of him that second score um and then I think that was that was kind of fluky that first touchdown but I he I think he'll be a good receiver I don't I think he might have fooled some people last night though not no hate on him what yeah we're not trying we're not trying to be so crazy with the Flaming takes but you know for the take content sometimes we got know with house it's going to be hard for him to play in a lot of situations you know teams that are like running a lot of manto man uh you know bump coverage it's going to be hard for him just being you know what like 180 pounds and not like the tallest guy in the world um so yeah I think he he's going to have a long way to go but he's going to be all right yeah I have Rashid rice on one of my fantasy leagues and I have M homes in another one so every time they were connecting on the Slants it just it really felt like a chef's kiss um but what about you Megan I know you're the resident Lions fan um you actually have the lion shirt we're we're repping TV today yet but I had it on earlier um you know I feel like you probably believe that you guys are going to the Super Bowl but I mean if you if the Lions had I wouldn't say I believe it but I would say sure right but if if the lions were to meet the Chiefs in the Super Bowl what would would you like your chances I don't know I don't think I'd like those CH they just see now I'm going to glaze them too kind of but they just like they look so uniform together like as soon as Patrick Mahomes just walks on the field he looks like he's just in his Zone like fully and I like you it's just hard to kind of doubt him almost at this point um even when it was that one play where he like hit he threw the ball and then one of the Ravens guys like tapped it up and then he still was able to jump up in the air and catch it and I was just like I was kind of like wow like he just got that back and didn't and he wasn't phased by that at all so I think that's one thing he's kind of probably at the point where mentally he knows that he's good so if he SC like messes up once or twice back to back it really just doesn't phase him anymore and it shouldn't so I don't know if I'd like our chances I'd understand I wouldn't like my chances uh the Dolphins chances against uh Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs either too especially at a point in his career where you know there were a lot of conversations ear on about you know oh well he has Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce you know is he just a product of the weapons and now he's been blessed with the opportunity to have a stellar defense and he's showing that he can get he can get it done with guys off the street I feel like if we were out there running routes from Mahomes I feel like we could still put together a drive like that's I just think that's the point we're at with this guy and um honestly it's a it's a treat to watch and especially as a a fantasy uh League you know what do you call him manager I guess um GM GM right um it it feels fun to like just be able to like actually support um a great quarterback um they're going to get better I think uh a lot better because I you brought up Travis Kelce I think he I felt like I almost didn't like notice him last night just cuz like I I just feel like I never heard his name called I think he had finished with like three I'm trying to find it three catches total uh 34 yards um I think there he's someone that's going to get involved a lot more and I just think you know last year was a down year for the Chiefs and they still won it all I think and I think on paper their roster got a lot better um over the offseason just W be be drafting well um so I like I think it's hard to pick someone against them to have like the best odds I think to Super Bowl absolutely so we actually since we're so back we actually have football today tonight 8:15 uh Packers will be going against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil um for you know an interesting reason that I don't really know why I we we are game huh grow the game to grow the game I I don't you know NFL is trying to uh you know leave its Mark uh internationally you know flag football will be making its way to the Olympics which we actually covered a little bit uh at the beginning of the semester so that'll be interesting to see um you know how the the people of Brazil you know really um you know gravitate towards the game of American football um it just makes me wonder though like how many Brazilians their like first like interaction with American culture is like a big group of like Eagles fans chanting like go Birds I just saw that on today for easy way to turn them off the NFL I just saw that today on Twitter and I actually uh commented about it because like one like the well-known like eagles like super fans I have like the Mohawk in the face paint he was at like the uh was Statue the I was like the Brazilian mind cannot comprehend this yeah because I mean like just I mean of course like soccer fans are like and see like those like European games like International crowds seeing like how like passionate they are it's insane however I feel like just for in Soule like football sport not that many countries really know much about American football really just seeing like uh the fans the huge support of the fans is like a little bit weird I mean imagine telling a Brazilian fan like hey like the Chiefs won super fans now like in jail like what like this guy just is a wolf now like jail like I feel like the Brazilian line cannot comprehend yeah but I think I think there's also like it to to also like put it flip it on its head there's probably so much lore in regards to Southern American soccer that the American mind cannot comprehend because like you said international soccer is international and those events always get crazy but I do like the point that you made Cameron like imagine like because there's definitely uh Green Bay Packer fans that have traveled to Brazil kind of made a vacation of it same thing with Eagles fans so like they're probably like why do these people have cheese on their head and like why do they have why do why are they dressed like Vikings and stuff like that also uh interesting report apparently that I remember seeing you know both these teams uh their colors are green and Brazil's flag is is green and yellow so apparently there's sort of a conflict of you know not being allowed to wear certain colors can't wear green in the game yeah aren't they not allowed to wear green I think it's for the stadium cuz for Corinthians Arena I think they said like their biggest rival wear screen or something and they don't allow it I'm like everyone was saying so the NFL brought in two teams that wear kind of petty I feel like that's kind of childish like but I think it was a matter of safety concerns because of you know the the clim the social climate the players are not leaving their hotels like basically they were told not to and also well one thing I saw that was really interesting was that um I want to say the Eagles are home correct technically yeah the Eagles are staying from uh right next to the stadium while the Packers have like a 2hour commute I want to say it is um which I couldn't I couldn't really understand but I thought that was like really really odd I maybe make that feel like that road home game versus a road game for both teams I guess but everything thing I find kind of interesting about this game is for where it's located of course some people might not know but this in the news but like the Brazilian government like kind of like banned Twitter now and journalists especially like sports uh journalists who writes articles do live reads and live tweets they use Twitter so now it's like how are the journalists are going to use that when they're on uh in a new country covering this game for either like a CBS or like a local Pack Green Bay newspaper or something so how are they able to handle that but not using Twitter so because that's one huge part of their job now is also like do live treat live tweets so I think that's a very like kind of like interesting weird situation where this first game in Brazil a lot of players really don't look like too too happy they're really not allowed to wear green but on two teams that wear green thing right now with the government they can't really use Twitter so that affect the sports journalist seems a little bit like of a mess I'm still looking forward to watching the game I feel like the whole situation like seem a bit off yeah maybe there wasn't a full like thorough process but it was maybe more so like an availability thing like oh well Brazil has this big uh soccer stadium and we can turn into football there's they plan to play in Munich Germany and they also plan to go back to London so I'm always uh looking forward to those games as well but yeah I think from like a scheduling perspective that definitely has to suck that one of your home games you still kind of have to travel for it oh no teams hate that teams really really hate that especially fans too Jags are usive probably they have like two play like two London Games now well cuz I want to say that um teams whenever they play overseas they have to sacrifice like uh a home game unless I'm mistaken and I remember the year that the Jaguars played twice overseas it was like a really big thing with their fans like you're giving away to home games um essentially so it I mean I think they I think a lot they definitely thought goes into it like things with like scheduling it's why why they get there but you know it is interesting like things when like they play overseas like things like this I really can't comprehend this like why one team has to stay two like two hours away yeah that fact is so strange to me already a I'm looking at CBS right now to get to a different country I feel like it is difficult enough trying to do that that that really just doesn't make sense to me set it where you know cuz what it's the Eagles are home right maybe they could have said it where they could get there a week early and then the Packers could get there like three days early I feel like that would feel like at that point like let's just not do this International stuff it's not even that I'm just saying like it I'm just simply asking is there not two hotels in South Pao like there's only one like like I gotta say like for what I think one is I feel like for this situation you're trying to make it that like a feel for the uh players being like okay like feeling like in a way game well that's just that's just stupid to me they're like halfway across like the world like does that not feel far away not not really yeah um I mean okay technically they're not halfway across the world but is going from like Green Bay Wisconsin to Brazil is that not like enough of like an away game feeling that's just so odd to me I feel like maybe another thing is um for a reason why a lot of players a lot of teams don't like playing those International games not because they're sacrificing an actual home game game but also when you go watch like those Munich games those London Games even like a while ago they had Mexico City Games seeing the crowds a lot of them wearing like those like whatever those two teams are a lot of them wearing those uniforms but a lot of others are wearing different team uniforms kind of a Super Bowl I'm sure I'm sure half why they don't like it I'm sure most of it is like uh traveling halfway across the world is a hassle um and then you got to think about it that exactly and um it not only Cuts in like the travel cuts into this week it makes next week like a short week as well I'm not sure if like the Packers or the Eagles have a buy next week but you know TR having to travel back to Brazil That's like probably double the amount of turnover uh a normal away game so like the get back practice film that schedule also gets thrown on their head so it's like it's you know not just this week you know it goes into next week it also has to Al the Eagles are playing on the 16th so a Monday game for their next one so so they get one of those days back buters are playing 1 p.m. 7 game 1 pm. Sund on Sunday for week two yeah they made a little bit easier so one of the teams gets their week back but that's still you know it it has it it's going to have its effect so I know that's probably part of why I'm sure some of the players enjoy playing overseas no I mean it's definitely a great experience to you know go to countries that they probably people have never been before but yeah I think it's an interesting choice by the NFL to make this a week one game how hot is it going to be in Brazil like these are the questions that's a good question goog just Googles Brazil do you all remember whenever um the world was it the World Cup that was in Brazil it like it was like ridiculously hot like I have a vivid memory of like some player in the world cup like taking off his jersey and like ringing out sweat I do actually know it now that I was about to like flame you and be like no but I do you know what I'm talking about so but from what I'm looking at it's only going to be 65 nice and brisk yeah no it it'll be it'll be a chill game and but I am looking forward to it I'm excited to see how the Brazil crowd reacts to football because you know um our our American mind when it comes to soccer you know they flop a lot it's really it's a contact sport but they're really trying to avoid it at all costs but to for them to get a taste of American football and see how really physical it is I think that be excit there was a really interesting story in the athletic about like Brazilian football and there's like a Brazilian americ American football and there's like a lot of kind of like very bush leag like underground like American football uh leagues and it there's like a like a very small like sector of it and it was like very interesting read across like all countries or well yeah that one that story specifically was um about Brazil but I know like there's a there's a football league in Italy I want to say like everyone knows like the Canadian Football League European League of football and they have like I think right now 24 teams including like Paris and Munich and whatnot I mean High School football in Europe had is like growing prominence um I want to say either fa's class of 2025 2024 I want to say or yes class of 2024 they had a player from Germany an offensive line yeah exactly an offensive line put an insane pole that was awesome that was really good I say like before we jump to our uh next thing is one thing I have also wonder is for corian Arena a known soccer a soccer primarily soccer stadium yeah wondering how the turf will be too cuz I was like I'm big Wonder too as well I would actually say that um this has been a big thing um to to bring uh in a local star in Leo Messi um he local star well he he's an international he's our star now he's our an international star but he's a he's a mi South Florida Star South Florida star yeah come on and when he came to to play for for in Miami he had declared you know before he wrote his contract that he's not going to play on any Turf so they upkeep uh they have ground Keepers that keep up with the grass and stuff like that so I would actually argue that the the the grass is better over there than it is well I would say and NFL players are used to playing on like some of the worst Turf like man like metti yeah life um so I I mean unless it's some really God awful stuff they got like like Turf they have it can't be like worse than like the worst stuff these guys have play on yeah which I was say which were REM I'm praying for all the guy for the finalist for the 2026 World Cup final going to be in New Jersey East no they actually they that's a good point but they they did yeah they did confirm that they will have grass for the World Cup um because yeah those guys when it comes to International stars like many of those guys will be like would probably be like no I'm not playing on afro turp it's like what is this there's soccer there's soccer players that play in Saudi Arabia that are on like billion dollar contract s so like we think that the contracts are insane now for like NFL quarterbacks and and NBA stars those soccer players man they they are loaded get like recently get like a couple billion dollar cont it was like valued at a billion like those contracts are not getting like a billion dollars cash but like with all like the you know that a lot of them they're getting like stocks and teams and like companies and thing like that in Messi's contract it was like apple like he's getting like apple money it gets valued at a billion dollars man and I'm over here like struggling every two weeks to get paid we over here talking about million dollar athletes but no that's all good this is it's for the the sake of entertainment um but getting into uh getting after the the game today we have a plethora of games on Sunday and Monday so I just want to ask everybody what's your game of the week is Cam do you want to go I think that that Sunday night game is what I'm looking forward to um oh excuse me Rams Lions I hope I didn't take Megan's pick but I just remember how much fun to watch uh that Rams Lions playoff game last year was when it was like um you know Goff going against his old team and um what's his name Matthew Stafford going against his old team and now it was such a great game it like uh Jared G played really great and Matthew Stafford was out there hooping for four straight quarters um but it ended kind of with like a ref show um so I'm just really excited to see that rematch that's why I picked that game yeah no I think that's definitely a a good choice Meg did you have the same one yeah he did steal my pick my bad but what are you looking forward to uh that may be different from cam um I'm also looking forward to seeing I don't know I kind of want to see the I want to see the Broncos and Seahawks game um just because both those teams like they were kind of just me H yeah they were I was trying to think of like what words to say then just like eh but they were kind of like okay teams so I feel like it'll be kind of like an even matchup and just a way for them to both really see how they are looking this season since they did similar last year um but my heart will be set on the line soon no for sure I I think those are definitely two good ones Sunday the also the Sunday night production is just absolutely incredible um I always a big fan of that and actually I think tonight's game is also on peacock I'm not sure if it's going to be uh Chris Collinsworth and Mike too um because they did the game yesterday but yeah those are definitely uh two good ones I'm also looking forward to seeing how bone Knicks looks in his first game especially having to go against a pretty stellar defense against the Seahawks um you know I will have to pay attention for Fantasy reasons because we are in a we are all in our own fantasy football league uh a student media fantasy football league that we'll be getting into for the final segment um but madx what's your game of the week I put down Texans and Colts I feel like um you see how big uh CJ stra was last season and some people saying oh probably like rookie luck let's see how he plays this year um add Stefan digs add some extra like help for him the offense looks qu add some extra pieces on defense clean Danielle Hunter um on their great defensive end so that team looks already loaded and now with the Colts I mean Anthony Richardson he got injured early on but like he was an exciting person to see a lot of people were looking forward to seeing him play as rookie year and so now him a full year healthy going against the divisional rival week one everyone who doesn't love a divisional rival matchup and especially in week one yeah so I was thinking like with the Texans and Colts two young quarterbacks young um offense young teams going against each other week one be really exciting to see that I think it's underrated the game no you know what I think that's a really good point and the fact that it's a 1M game that's probably I'm going to be locked in on Red Zone but um I think that that's definitely going to be one that I maybe I'll have on its own independent window also really excited to see how Shane Sten their head coach really has a great offensive mind how he plans on utilizing Anthony Richardson now that he's healthy you know praying that he can stay healthy um because he's shown some just really incredible flashes both with the arm Talent um and you know running the ball going against like Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter now on the other end other side of that Bal for Richardson that be interesting to see especially how the offensive line holds up against those two guys yeah absolutely for for me personally I mean maybe this is kind of a cop out being that it's the Monday night game but I am really excited for this Jets at San Francisco game just because um you know we made a big hoopla last season with with Aaron Rogers going to the Jets we all know the the the iconic video of uh Aaron Rogers stepping out onto the field with the American flag and people you know MD uh the heck out of it top 100 now in the NFL playing 75 seconds top 100 top 100 NFL player who didn't even play the whole season um but yeah I think I'm really interested to see uh Aaron Rogers in his regular season debut with the Jets um especially it not being an easy task uh in San Francisco and also Aaron Rogers uh you know being a Cali guy um it'll be interesting to see how how he plays in that environment um and just to also you know it's definitely going to be a great defensive battle uh and I'm also curious to see what that that Super Bowl hangover loss is going to look like for the 49ers you know although Brock py did have a really great game I feel like a lot of people are are are waiting for the other shoe to drop waiting for you know the this uh Lin sanity run for for Brock py to kind of damn c um waiting for the Lin sanity run to to to you know and um but I I think Brock pie I think he's he's their guy um you know they're gonna have to figure out uh what the extension looks like for him uh after this season but I think that's a really really good Monday Night Football game and have one question for uh you so over or under a Rogers lasts on the field longer than 75 seconds well I I'm going to take the over on that I mean a child are going to be taking the over yeah I I I mean I would have to see the odds on that but yeah I'm hoping that he stays healthy obviously I never want to see any players get hurt um um although I mean he's he's a pretty interesting guy but as far as a football player um I mean it's always a treat to see you know arguably one of the best quarterbacks of all time on the field and especially for him to be now I believe he's the I believe now he's the oldest quarterback in the league 41 42 yeah around up there in age so it'll be he's Unk yeah you know a lot about ank so dang but no uh I'm excited to see if Aaron Rogers still has some left in the tank um because you know I I think he's got Garrett Wilson I'm actually not too sure what the rest of that receiving Corp looks like um but you know there's a lot of high expectations for Bree Hall um this upcoming season you know the line is uh has retooled a little bit um so that's my game of the week and uh you know we'll we'll regroup next show Wednesday at 4 pm to see how our game of the weeks went um to close off the show um we're going to just give a little bit of insight on how our defense Tony Pard Brandon Aubrey and Dalton Schultz and I told us to Nick I actually got Tony par after I made that selection I realized he was on the Titans I thought he was saw on the Cowboys still I like only like running back on the Cowboys so many yeah I mean he could he not prepared for the draft he could have he could still have a good game against beis defense maybe yeah I I do also want I want to mention for for anybody that's like fantasy football nerds out here uh this is only an eight-man league so our teams may sound very stacked especially when we get to Cameron's receivers um yeah I mean you uh Jaylen Herz was one of the best quarterbacks in Fantasy last year with all those tush pushes um so you definitely sneak in some points there Harrison buer always one of the best kickers in the league um so is BR auy like almost on M yeah and to have uh CD lamb and and dvo samuio as your receivers it's that's definitely a tree I I think your running backs are a little weak I'm not going to tell you who to start because I I you know unfortunately have to pray on your downfall um we're not even B each other week one but okay listen everybody lose and I have to win but that's know this is why we wanted to do this uh for the um for student media is that you know we wanted everyone to get like their feet wet we're not betting no money uh for this league cuz it would have felt like you know taking candy from a baby yeah it's just bragging rights just bragging right yeah maybe if anything maybe what we could do is we all chip in and like the winner gets like a little
