welcome back to three bold Tes guys this week we have started our new series on giving you our predictions for what these teams are going to achieve in 2024 and today we're doing the UCF Golden Nights last year in 2023 they pulled off a six and seven record now going into their second year in the Big 12 I'm curious Freddy what do you think UCF is going to achieve this year in the Big 12 play Yeah man so I'm actually super excited for UCF this year um under Gus Malon in the Big 12 especially with Texas and Oklahoma now leaving um some of the Pack 12 schools coming into backfield uh it's going to be a very interesting year to say the least for them if you look at their schedule um which it is up on the screen it's a pretty favorable schedule um if you ask me um you know your nonc cons you pull Florida in the noncon now Florida is not going to be that great at all uh however it is an instate game they don't play all that often so I'm very interested to see how that one plays out so that's a game to look at um and then obviously you know you have Arizona West Virginia and Utah you finish the season actually with Utah um that Utah game might determine who goes to the Big 12 championship game um I'm pretty high on UCF this year I've got him going 9 and three um this year um with you know I I I think they lose to Utah all Arizona is not going to be as good as they were last year we we're going to talk about Arizona State tonight buns West Virginia is a possible loss um I'd call uh Florida a possible loss but you know Cincinnati BYU like I legit think that UCF could have a very good season this year um I think the shock factor of being in the Big 12 and playing Power five competition uh week in and week out is gone they've played these Road environments now a year so they're a little bit more prepared in that front as well I'm high on UCF and Gus mes on nine and three is my mark Chase yeah I I mean I wish we' have group together and talked about it a little bit because gez I'm about to hurt feel I I have him winning six games like that's kind of where I'm at I'm not as favorable on UCF I'm looking at their schedule and you popped on immediately and said that they have a favorable one I was actually kind of grinding my teeth out it looks kind of tough I mean I think the first four weeks you're good but let's not and I know Quinn was hot hot on haon Florida last year I think Florida's gonna be a better team this year they they have the number one toughest uh schedule all season long Florida do so they're gonna be a tough team they're gonna be battle tested now it's only week five I think games you have to Circle I think are the last two besides the Florida one but the last two I think West Virginia and Utah I think Utah just absolutely beats down UCF and but I think West Virginia could be a toss up uh because I was kind of hot on West Virginia last year saying that they weren't a good team they need to remove their coach and then they flipped it around so West Virginia could be a top tier team in the Big 12 by the end of the year as well but I mean I have them beating the smaller schools as well but like there's a lot of toss-ups here Arizona BYU um Cincinnati I think all three of those games could go either way and I just don't see and maybe it's just the lingering group of five in my head but I just don't see a a hardcore like yes this team is going to just absolutely beat up the other ones I know BYU and Cincinnati are for more group of fives as well but as I'm saying I think they're kind of same level 50/50 I think it's a coin flip for some of these games I have them currently winning six games I think they make it to a bowl game um I know they got KJ Jefferson from Arkansas I'm excited to see how Gus Maan uses him this season I think that's a huge upgrade but I know they lost a couple guys to um to the draft and things like that there were big names and haven't really seen too much on their recruiting so I'm going to go six games I'm going leave it there and I hope they exceed my expectations Quinn look I'll say this I think there's a pretty good shot when you look at the start of their schedule that they go into that game of the small four though I would favor them in all four of those games uh that's what TC on the road Colorado at home and then two uh two smaller schools Sam Houston and I forget open with New Hampshire uh that that Florida game is huge because here here's what I'm gonna tell I think there's five guaranteed wins I I want to say six on this schedule for UCF I think five to six wins almost unlock so for me Florida has or not Florida UCF has one two things they're either gonna go eight and4 or I think this team's gonna be like a 10- two type team and I think it all hinges on the Florida game so if you're UCF you're you're the new kid on the Block in the State of Florida in terms of like power more programs the momentum they could gain from going into the swamp getting a win over Florida and then carrying that back to a big 12 schedule where from a talent perspective the only teams they're going to play that are even somewhat close to that is Utah uh Iowa State maybe Arizona and West Virginia so you should be able to translate that momentum I think a lot of inside of the Big 12 play that being said everyone wants to tell me the swamp is a hard place to win a game so right now I'm going to say UCF goes an eight and four that's that's where I feel they're going to land on this year but I'm telling you if they go into the swamp and get a w we could be looking at a big to title game appearance potentially playoffs but I don't want to push that button super hard just because of how how high I am on Utah but I think 10 a 10- win season's very possible if they beat Ford SW but I'm a thank for I love your thinking Quinn I love your thinking so we have a six and six from Chase uh Quinn you have them going eight and four and I have them
