Hampton have agreed a fee with Arsenal for the permanent transfer of Aaron Ram it's understood that the fee is fixed £8 million potentially rising to 25 million if performance related add-ons are met arel have also have have a replacement lined up for Eddie and Keta in espanol uh keeper sorry or have a replacer lined up in espanol keeper Juan Garcia Eddie and keas also had a medical at Crystal Palace yesterday this was ahead of his permanent move from Arsenal um get me a coffee some right is this a good move for Arsenal uh well I mean I think they've got a good fee for for ramsdale but I think for for ramsdale himself you know if you're talking about an opportunity to compete in the Champions League to compete to win trophies it's it's a different challenge probably at Southampton but if you're talking about well ramsdale fit into Russell Martin's style of play I think broadly you have to say it's it's a probable yes that he would fit into his style of play but there might be some areas where the goalkeeper will have to evolve his game let's take a look at how southampton's goalkeepers performed last season and ramsdale last season as Arsenal's number one in 22 23 now obviously South hampson played more games and had the opportunity to concede more goals in the championship 63 compared to ramsdale 43 I think significantly Gavin bazunu and Alex McCarthy combined had the worst save percentage in the championship last season ranking 24 out of 24 at 63.9% as you see ramsdale would be an automatic upgrade on that what about sweeper keeping these are the defensive actions outside of the penalty area per 90 minutes this is obviously the keeper coming out clearing tackling uh in those defensive areas and this is something that you would expect ramsdale to perhaps need to show a bit more willingness to do interestingly this is a metric that has gone up for Arsenal since David reyer went in goal as mikara evolves the position and what about being good with your feet as well and being involved in buildup now don't expect ramsdale to be kicking it long like he did for the majority of his time as number one at Arsenal Southampton launched the fewest goal kicks last season at 10 and a half% now a launch is classed as a pass that goes over 40 yards and again this metric here has come down since Rya took over again Michel arteta trying to evolve that goalkeeper position and Russell Martin wants his goalkeepers involved in open players well especially in the buildup bazunu and McCarthy combined made the fourth most passes last season per 90 in the championship expect ramsdale to have to get comfortable quickly in doing that so ramsdale you would think on the face of it is going to be an upgrade on their goalkeeping options but I think there's areas of his game that perhaps he'll need to show a little bit different from what he has at Arsenal you'd be absolutely gutted if you got to 39 yards wouldn't you it's not class as a launch think quite gets 40 um do you think this is a good bit of business from Southampton yeah I think for Southampton it's an upgrade in their in their goalkeeping Department obviously D just ran through the numbers really well there but Gavin bazo is out till till January at the the earliest anyway Alex McCarthy has been a solid goalkeeper over the years for Southampton but he's coming towards the end of his career made a mistake in the first game against Newcastle incidentally trying to play out from the back so I think although ramsdale will have things to to work on as Dave Dave alluded to I think he's a better Fit For What Russell Martin wants to do and for Southampton to be picking up a goalkeeper who was number one for Arsenal in the title race not that long ago that's a that's a massive upgrade it's a massive C for Southampton yeah what about EDI ker to Palace this one seems to make sense from both sides yeah for sure I think Eddie and Keta deserves the opportunity to play week in week out or just the opportunity to prove himself obviously Mata is their their go-to Striker you know we saw what he done at the back end of last season scoring week and week out we saw what he done at the Olympics as well um Edward hasn't really kicked on since he came from Celtic to Palace you know he scored a few goals here and there but he hasn't been as consistent but for for Eddie and ketia he only averaged 40 minutes per game last season and for a strier to find consistency and find form that's always going to be difficult to do and some people have questioned are is it a step down is it is is this does this mean he's not going to be able to challenge for these trophies and I think when you see the way Palace are playing now and and yes they've lost a few players but I think the the main thing for them is the philosophy that the manager implemented and the fact that they're trying to play progressive football they they're playing to their Strikers and I think he could really complement what they're doing already I think he could play off meta as well and give them something a bit different so I think it works both for both of them Arsenal fans could be on the brink of witnessing one of the most surprising moves of the current transfer window as rumors suggest that the club is considering a bold bid for Liverpool Striker Darwin Nunes the potential arrival of the Uruguay at the Emirates Stadium has the potential to shake up the footballing world putting the Gunners back in the spotlight in the Premier League and European competitions Arsenal who have been 100 million 85 million in add-ons is facing a period of uncertainty at anfield under new manager Onslaught despite having four years remaining on his contract with the Reds which runs until 2028 Nunes is reportedly reevaluating his future seriously considering the possibility of a new challenge Nunes situation at Liverpool has become even more complicated after he was not included in the starting lineup for either of the teams first two matches in the current Premier League season raising doubts about his role in slots tactical plans since joining the merys side Club Nunes has managed to score 33 goals in 94 appearances but he has also faced criticism for his inefficiency in crucial moments leading to questions about his long-term contribution rumors of a Poss departure for Nunes began to gain traction when the striker decided to remove all Liverpool related images from his Instagram account a move widely interpreted as a sign of discontent despite being under contract until 2028 it is speculated that Liverpool would only consider selling the player for an offer exceeding 73 million a some that Arsenal may be willing to negotiate Arsenal's interest in NES is not new in 2022 before his move to Liverpool the Gunner sporting director edu had already made preliminary contacts with the players repres resentatives seeing him as a potential reinforcement for the team the possibility of bringing the striker to the Emirates Stadium would be seen as an opportunity to add unpredictability and talent to the squad qualities that have made nun one of the most exciting figures in English football the uncertainty surrounding nun's future was further reinforced by recent comments from ESPN FC pundit Steve Nichol who suggested that Liverpool should consider selling the striker according to nickol Nunes does not fit into the playing style implemented by slot and the club could benefit financially from his departure I think the way Liverpool played the way the front line and the midfielders interacted the way they were passing the ball in the little plays all the movement around it I thought Nunes didn't fit into that nickol remarked with the transfer window closing in Arsenal faces the pressure of swiftly concluding any potential deal for Nunes the addition of a striker with the Uruguayan profile could raise the expectations of the fans who are eager for a successful season are the Gunners about to secure this audacious signing or will New Year's future remain tight to Liverpool what do you are Aral fans think of this potential transfer would Nunes be the missing piece to take the club to the next level
