the weekend. Thanks for joining us on this Friday night. I'm Priscilla Casper. So before stepping outside, you're going to want to check out this map here. The risk of West Nile virus is rising. Tonight Boston is now listed as a high risk area along with parts of Plymouth County. Our NBC 10 S Erin Logan joins us live in Jamaica Plain with what you need to know to keep your family safe. Erin. Good evening. Good evening. Priscilla. We all know that ponds and lakes are prime breeding spots for mosquitoes. And on a beautiful weekend ahead, it is highly likely that people will come to these areas. So doctors are warning everyone to be aware and protect yourself, especially at dusk and dawn. A mosquito bite is not normally something to panic about, but learning Boston is at a high risk for West Nile virus is certainly getting people's attention. First, I'm hearing of it, but obviously it's a scary thing. West Nile is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito.
