[Music] AI for good Global Summit is a leading action-oriented un platform Gathering experts from all over the world to accelerate progress towards the sustainable development goals here stakeholders from the public and the private sector demonstrate their innovative solutions aligned with sustainability objectives like this AI power exoskeleton developed by French startup wondercraft uh so we started the company 12 years ago to build an exoskeleton to help people with paralysis to work again my grandmother had the disease and she had 10 childrens and seven of the 10 childrens had the diseas including my father uh who gave it to my brother and my sister so two3 of my families have uh are using wheelchair uh so I wanted to build them a new tool for mobility and uh We've we've seen a lot of advances in robotics and Ai and uh I told myself that the best use of this technology is to help people work again for paralympic tennis player Charlotte the technology is a game Cher I've been in a wheelchair for just over 16 years um and I don't regularly stand up the health benefits it gives me so blood flow bone density just being able to stand up and feel kind of better in my body there is hope for for us to be somehow walking again maybe it's not with an implant in the brain or on the spinal cord um and yes it is with AI is with technology so assistant assisted walking the powerful combination of AI and Robotics can significantly enhance the quality of life for people with a disability me and my co-founder we both started bionics in 2016 and we just received a random email when we were in the university and doing robotics boy who was born without an arm and we thought since we are robotics engineers let's give it a try and we when we first met that boy and we asked him that what kind of prosthetic arm do you want and he said I need an Iron Man head and when he first moved his arm that was like his emotions and everything was amazing because now that he was feeling like a superhero rather than feeling like that he has lost something or he's missing something I would say happy to feel that sensation again um just being stand up I had quite a few kind of pins and needles um meaning that is activating something in my body in a really positive way and yeah it just felt great [Applause] [Music]
