Kenny Pickett I I got you yeah easy um how you how' you feel second game in the offense yeah it was good it was good and know we were root and tting a lot of guys tonight too so we got to play with a bunch of different um you know people bunch of different groups were in there um you know continuing to to work the operation I don't think we were as clean as we would like to be U I think we were Pro you know probably better better and smoother at that point um in the first game so that's something you know this week that we're definitely have to you know iron out for the third game there was a fair amount of pressure um was was that just because you said there were different groups yeah we I think they were moving guys around and you know um you know I think they had their you know their their top guys in there for a while too and that's that's a great opportunity for us you know you know twos and threes and a bunch of guys are trying to make this team uh to go out there and compete against the best that they have so um you know a lot of good and definitely there's some bad that we can learn from and uh you know take what it is and move on you're completing a high percentage of passes but but the yards per per attempt haven't been great is is there a reason for that is just play not developing the way uh uh we had some shots called they were covered up and you know I ended up checking it down we got good gains there um besides that just taking the completions that are there um you know and trying to move the offense um you know those big plays will come sooner or later just got to you know continue to to throw them you know throw them in practice I thought on uh what we practiced on Tuesday you know we hit a couple down the field which was great um so it's just you know if they're there we'll take them if not just continue to move the ball down the field um obviously trated you to be the number two guy but Tanner's been getting some of the Reps in the twos how do you view that competition now yeah I think it's just you know they're Contin like I said kind of mixing groups up and just letting guys play with different groups um just taking a day at a time and uh Contin to put good tape out there continue to play well um you know and progress with the offense anything else thanks guys a little more effective throwing Tanner McKee the ball this week you know what were the reasons for that um uh I don't know just trying to take what the defense gave us um I thought our guys did a great job of separation um and yeah I would say just just taking what the defense gave us what you see on the uh seam the seam one yeah um trying to think which one was that one to Joe the one coming in um so that one it was um a Max protection so um was hoping to have a decent amount of time big guys did great holding up um I didn't see the route but when I came to the sideline a lot of the guys were like Joe just had a nasty route cuz he had inside leverage I know it's a tough um tough route to run against that inside leverage but um I'm excited to see it on film CU he had a ton of Separation so um made the throw easy on me um but I'm excited to see what he did to create that much separation because everybody on the sideline was freaking out why leave and then come back in um not 100% sure um coach just told us that that was going to be the game plan at the beginning of the game and uh I was like okay like they did a good job communicating with it and we roll with the punches um I'm not 100% sure I think I think it was just to give everybody an equal opportunity so it wasn't like at the end of the game if it was a 4minute 2 minute no matter what it was um but I was just ready to roll whenever they call my name is there any advantage to dressing for every game get playing but going out and dressing for all them you're saying like last year yeah yeah I would say so um just being around the guys um being on the sideline just hearing what coaches are talking about how I would say reading Sidelines um I feel like as a quarterback you want to have you know you want to be in a leadership position and kind of read the sideline do you guys need like you know we're fine flush it let's go or do they need kind of like a kick in the butt like hey like we got to get going it's time to roll um so I I think just seeing how Jaylen did that last year and then just being able to put um my spin and my personality on it when I'm out there um trying to take charge um so yeah I I think it's very beneficial you know what do you think you're better at this year me person I I feel like mentally um I feel like I can see the defense a lot a lot cleaner um I feel like that was one of the biggest things going from college to the NFL is um just post Snap movement um and you know I feel like they're always going to lie to your eyes um pre- snap and so I feel like I'm very just just comfortable seeing post Snap movement being able to adjust um off of that I think that was a big growth point for me last year and uh I'm obviously going to continue to try to grow on that just so I can you know see the defense clearly and figure out where the ball needs to go do you think you're ready to be number two uh that's not that's not my decision um I wish it was um but I'm I'm just ready to go out and play whenever they call my name were you surprised when they traded for Kenny was I surprised um Howe did a great job of communicating I think they do a really good job of communicating they told me that they were going to bring in um another quarterback uh and we were going to compete and so um that was the message that I got and uh Kenny's been a great teammate and we're going to continue to compete for probably the whole year okay than thank you
