good morning everybody hope you're doing well this Monday Labor Day happy Labor Day to you hope you have a good day maybe you've got something planned if you do I hope it goes well Matt and I worked at the college we both and even when he worked at the county really look forward to Labor Day because we got the day off from work so it was it was nice to to get that extra day have a extra long weekend I've got Binks up here with me and he's acting very rambunctious this morning he's about to get on the computer I wish he'd come over here where you can see him now he's looking in the house windows come here binkie come here now he jumped to the other side come on come on you can come that way just don't get in my water come on there he goes showing you his backside he's going to sit and look inside the inside he's been very rambunctious this morning there he goes he's probably gone now he investigated see what was going on now he's done I'm gonna put my stuff back so for Labor Day we don't have we usually like I said me and Matt always was happy to get it off when we worked for the state or the county but we didn't really do anything special most of the time we just enjoyed that extra day extra day at home and we typically don't do anything these days either but today today we are having I have relatives Granny's uh cousin and her family are here visiting from Ohio so they're going to come over later this evening and we're going to eat and get to fellowship and that'll be very very nice um and it's if you watch Corey and Cat's videos you'll you'll remember that Corey named wood part of wood R's name her and Austin part of his name is for Austin's father Scott but part of it woodro is for my Uncle Woodrow would have been Corey's great Uncle Woodrow and it's his daughter woodro daughter Mary that's coming and her son Clint and his family so we'll look forward to that this evening Granny's going to make her green beans of course I'm going to make I'm going to do something uh because I got some other things I need to do fairly easy I'm going to put some cube steak in the crock pot and pray have some corn we still got some tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden so we'll have those and I think Granny's gonna put some of our new potatoes in her green beans so that'll be good and I think I might make a cobbler or Katie said she might make a cobbler so we have cobbler for dessert and I guess I'll make cornbread I hadn't thought about that I should ask them would they rather have cornbread or they rather have biscuits see what they see what they would rather have I'll have to find out anyway that'll be nice to see them we don't get to see them very often you know not even once a year so it's been a while since we've since we've got to visit with them that'll be that'll be really really nice and nice for Mary and and Granny to be together they were in the way of large families Granny's family was really you know there was 11 children but nine lived to adulthood and Granny is the third from the youngest so by the time she come along some of her older siblings had already married and and moved out and some of them like Mary's mother faay was one of granny's uh sisters had had children so Mary and Granny were more the same age so they were real Playmates when they were growing up together and they've got lots of uh stories fun and sweet and heartwarming and all that and um granny said she would stay often Fay and woodro take her home you know with them and they would she would stay with Mary and um stayed spend a lot of time there and Fay and woodro would take them on trips and go you know um just get out and travel around and she always enjoyed that so lots of they really have been really close through their life so that was really really uh nice that they're going to get to come and we're all going to get to get together today so that's what we'll be doing on Labor Day you'll have to tell us what you're what you're doing if uh you want to y'all can tell each other there in the in the comments we did get some rain last night got a little bit of rain for the past three days the first day was a pretty good rain it's like a storm we had a storm can't remember now I guess that would have been Friday we had a storm and then on Saturday it didn't really ever rain it acted like it was going to and it didn't and I thought oh well we didn't get any rain again just that one storm but then during the night it rained a little and then during last night it rained a little so I'm grateful for any that we can get any we can get and just that little amount of rain I can look out here in the rattlesnake beans that we replanted look so much better I can see my turnips I swear they've grew about that much just from that rain so that will definitely definitely help things and maybe that's priming the pump and we'll get back on our regular uh forecast of rain a few of you told me that we're in for a cool off that we're going to have cooler weather this week so I'm definitely going to be all about that it has been so very hot so hot and I'm very blessed that I have air conditioning so I shouldn't even complain about it but it's it is has been so hot makes it miserable to be to be outside and doing what you need to do of course this time of the year the garden's winding down it's on its way out for sure we've got some Tomatoes left we've got the oak re still going strong this Malibar spinach still going strong got some beans here and there but if you watched our video last night you know we picked some of the beans that we picked there'll be no more of them and um I still haven't harvested my carrots they're still out there I've pulled up a few when I needed them but I've actually still been buying them from the store too so I've not used many of them my our parsnips are still out there so many of you told me I should wait till it frost before I pull them up so I'll probably do that and what else have we got still going cucumbers are about gone there might be one or two out there I doubt it though the Cabbage that we left so many of you told us that we should leave it and let the little ones grow back that's not really worked out for us they look terrible they need to be pulled up as I sit here and look at them two things one is that they the dryness the heat has been so hot so hot really has damaged them a lot and then they've had some bug damage too so they just really need to be pulled up and and threw off the bank or put in the compost pile or let the chickens let the chickens enjoy them and my winter squash I'm looking down there I have a few khaws and a few butternuts not seen one pumpkin Nar a one but I hope that the khaws and the butternuts will get big enough that we can eat them I mean that they'll I know they'll be edible somebody asked me this in the comment in the last two or three days like what if they don't get big enough well even an under veloped one like the khaws can get if You' watched my videos you know they can get I mean huge but even a um even a a small one is still edible you can still cut it open and and eat it you know it just won't be as fully developed but it's still edible so I know we'll be able to eat them but I love having them where they get fully developed the the vine D back and I can put them on my porch and let them cure and then put them in my kitchen and then I may not eat them till next April actually actually I have I think two may have three butternuts in my kitchen right now from last year they're still in there they're fine they're still sitting there now they're going to be when I cut them open they're going to be maybe a little and I could do that for supper too I have to think about that be a little bit drier than maybe the one if I had if I had cut it open last December but they're still edible and there they are just sitting there so really I love that about winter squashes but we just didn't grow many this year with the weather and then we got them planted lake so that was that part was our fault for sure it's um always a little bit sad when the garden is dying out on you but it's also a little bit of a relief because then you won't have to worry about that you can worry about other things you know think about things maybe inside your house you need to do that you've put off because you've been outside working the whole summer and then there's always thinking about next year always dreaming about next year that's that's really a fun part of being a gardener I think too I mean look at my notes and see what else I needed to talk about today and let me ask you hear a big noise that's our air conditioning let me see if somebody will turn it off for me I thought it's so cool this morning that it wouldn't come on but it definitely has as far as I always update you and tell you how everybody body's doing everybody's doing really well and if any of you saw yesterday that Cory and Katie had asked thank you to whoever did that had to ask if um people to pray for my niece April everything's okay with April and the baby but thank you if you did pray your prayers were answered so everything's okay she's due in October so it it was like a little scare yesterday that she might be going into premature labor but everything's okay so thank you thank you for that and everybody else is doing good babies are growing and Granny's doing good and um excited like I said today to see Mary so every everybody's doing good and on October 19th from 11: until 2 me and uh my friend dear friend Jim cassid we will be at the historic Ramsey house in Knoxville Tennessee we would love to see you I can't remember for sure if we're going to talk which we will talk of course but I mean if we're going to give like a little um presentation about the cookbook or if we'll just be meeting people and talking kind of informally which anything we've done to promote the cookbook is informal and would be we'd love to chat with you so if you're able to come to that we would love to love to see you so the music I was going to talk about this week oh Binks is back I see the music I was going to every week I've been talking about music so the music I was going to talk about this week was uh and I can't remember I suppose it was Paul I'm sure that's where it come from but this was when I don't know let me now let me see when the when it actually came out now that I'm wondering about it 1998 okay I think if that's that seems about right that seems about right when it would have been anyway it was the if you're a fan or even familiar with Southern gospel music you've definitely heard of the gther they're really huge in that and I'd heard of them but I'm not so I'm more of a a blue I do like some southern gospel music of course it's beautiful and it's fine and all that Binks is being an acrobat over here but um I'm not as much a fan of that as I would be like bluegrass gospel or traditional gospel music thinking about Appalachia anyway the Bluegrass um I wish I could show you he's being so silly Bluegrass um or the Gaithers did this whole uh show about bluegrass music so the Bluegrass homecoming was the name of it but it was done by the the Gaither Association there and they were part of it and they also sung some of the songs in it but it was on we had um I don't remember again if Paul bored them from somebody and then bought them or what but DVDs so it was on DVDs and you could watch the whole you know the whole show you can also find it online though on YouTube now you can see Binks back there trying to get in the door um anyway but I'm I'm going to share some of the links but so we all just really loved it and of course it's we just for days once you become enamored with something we would just watch it and H then I think I don't remember if Paul give give them to me eventually or if I bought them and then I bought the CDs so I could listen to them in my car so it was it was just really neat and um of course we're we love gospel music so we loved that part it had a lot of our favorite people on it and then we just loved the kind of the joyfulness of it and the camaraderie of the whole of the whole CD set or DVD set of the whole program so let me see let me pull up my where I had some links for you so one of my favorites I I can't really say my favorites because they were all my favorites and I will put these links like I did last week in the description below so if you watch this later and you're not watching it right now but this one right here this is uh This Little Light of Mine it was Marty Stewart and the superlatives and we're fans of them anyway but I just really really love their version of this um uh one thing of course I grew up in in Sunday school singing This little light of mine you may be familiar with that Pap and Ray would sing that song and I tried to get Cory and Katy to sing it I'm not sure maybe there is a recording somewhere of them seeing it but I really love the parts that uh Marty and uh the superlatives there that they do and it's really happy and you just can't help but love it I mean even if you didn't like gospel music you would love it it's just really really something and um I don't know the other two gentleman's names Paul does but Marty and the one U the drummer usually they're singing and then the other one uh plays either I don't know if he plays the bass maybe he steps in between them and then starts singing that's like my favorite part and it's interesting when I looked up the um the link so that I could share it with you I don't know if you've ever done this but on a YouTube video you can kind of put your cursor there and some people don't watch the whole video they're just skipping along in it and it's funny the and then it'll show you that so it's kind of like a graph and then there'll be a big you know a high place where it's like a lot of people stop right there and it's funny a lot of people stop right when he steps in and starts singing that third part anyway really neat I really really love that one so you can check that one out um one of the bands that I've already talked about in the last few weeks um just a couple of weeks ago I guess the Nashville bluegrass band They on it and this is one of the ones the gospel plow really beautiful moving song real like in a um has a minor feel to it and that's I'm I'm drawn to those songs I love the sad and the um those in the minor Keys those are the ones I really love the most so I really love that one and you can hear their beautiful Harmony in it and steuart Duncan's wonderful fiddle playing and it's just really really good really good so that's one this one I um I asked Corey and Katie just out of curiosity if if you know they heard me playing a little bit of it one day and they Cory's like man that takes me right back to Childhood and I was like I know I said well so do you have a favorite do you remember any of the favorite ones so she said I would say um if you're familiar with Bluegrass you would definitely know who doal Lawson is so she said I would say one of the Dual Lawson ones there's several of those on there um at least two but I think there may be more than two but there's at least two so that's one the Dual Lawson ones we shall inherit and it was actually written by one of the ones singing I can't remember what his last name was his first name was Barry or is Barry and but do Lawson over the years his his uh band members changed a lot I've heard so many people say that's where a a lot of the famous more famous Bluegrass people got their start with do lawon and do Lawson had a has a long long history uh too if you're a fan you know that anyway uh that one is a real one and it was actually you know an original song I really liked that I really like that one and Corey said that was probably her favorite this one um Ronda Vincent if again if you're a Bluegrass fan you definitely know who that is so she's on there and this one that I just shared there the link uh you don't love God if you don't love your neighbor it's a real pey song and kind of a back and forth but the funny part of it is and of course they're just you know it's just joking just for entertainment purely being entertainers um they get Bill Gaither up there and try to act like they're going to teach him to sing Bluegrass you know and they make jokes about on the not in this video clip I don't think but in other ones about how you have to sing through your nose if you're going to sing Bluegrass just jokes you know being jokesters but in that one you can you know like he's I'm sure they've practiced it and he knows exactly what he's doing he's very talented uh vocalist and but uh they kind of make a joke like he's can he do it or not and oh he can do it you know anyway it's cute but it's a nice really upbeat py song and there's another Ronda Vincent one on there about angels I can't remember the exact name of it now but uh Corey and Katie used to sing it when they were really little when they very very first started singing been a long time ago they should do a remake of it this next one is um if you're familiar with gospel music southern gospel music or probably Bluegrass too they kind of try do both kind of a little bit is The Isaacs so it's um it's it's a beautiful song though the words of the song is what really attracted me to this one and then I found it like in our song book at church and it was a it's like one that's so old nobody knows who wrote it it's just beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful um is not this the land of Bula it's just a hauntingly beautiful old song I really wish Cory and caty would sing that one they should anyway it's beautiful song and uh Cory and C liked it because the the Isaac's they um it's like a family you know but it was the Two Sisters is what Cory and caty liked because they were sister so they like that and one time uh if you're a local person you know about the hillbilly mall that used to be in Andrews I don't think it's open anymore I don't know what they do there but when it first opened they had a lot of concerts and stuff there and one time we went and seen uh we went and seen The Isaacs and afterwards Cory and Katy got to go meet the two sister and we had you know bought one of their pictures and they got them to sign it was really sweet because they was just like cuz they've been watching them you know on the on the DVD so they really really loved that um anyway and they sing some other ones on there but that one's just such a beautiful beautiful old song well let's see there's another one I didn't get this the somehow I didn't get the link of that one why didn't I do that let me go see if I can find it there's another one if you remember um sh the old country band I can't typ and think and talk at the same time sorry um if you remember the uh old let me get it old country band Shannon DOA then you'll remember Marty R Ren that beautiful voice so he had he was on there just as hisself I mean you know not with a with his with with the shann and DOA not at all with them and um I've totally messed something up there and he did one get up in Jesus name and it is really catchy and really uh upbeat I really like it I I love his voice I love that I think he's got a great voice I really really love that one and then let's see I think I'm about down at my list oh okay so I another one I won't share any of the links but you can go find like a playlist of all these on YouTube so you could find them but another the lwis familyes on there so the lwis family is like just you know uh Legends uh in the gospel music world so they they do some numbers that are just amazing and Little Roy which is one of the the Louis family there thank you Robert thank you so very much thank you we appreciate all you do for us um little Roy is a real ComEd Ian so he does some funny stuff and if you've ever seen him in real life or in concert or on YouTube you know he does some comical things he puts his suspenders over his head and just silly stuff like that but of course Cory and caty really liked that when they were little and I always thought if I could get him and Katie together there's no telling because if you were ever when we were really playing a lot of music and going to a lot of places uh to perform if you ever seen us you know there was lots of humor especially from Katie uh it could turn into almost a a comedy show with her along with the music so I really love the ones with um little Roy in them those are great I love the Louis family Pap really really loved them too now this next one I'm almost through but this next one um is the nitty-gritty Dart band they're on there too nitty-gritty Dart band and this is I find Jesus beautiful beautiful song and it's really moving because um is it Jimmy ibbotson I'm probably saying that wrong and I may even been wrong but I think that's his name the lead singer there that's singing it if you go watch that he tells a wonderful story about that how he wrote that song was that his father had passed away and he dreamed about his father and he was like at a Southern church somewhere that he'd never been before and the congregation kept telling him well go sing your song Go sing your song your new song and he's like I don't you know I don't know what you're talking about and then somebody tapped him on the shoulder and then when he turned around it was his father and he said go ahead go sing your song and so he went up there and sung I mean this is how the song Come to him isn't that amazing um and it's just a beautiful beautiful song about finding Jesus it's an it's an amazing song in fact it's so amazing that we loved it so much that Paul and Pap learned it and I learned it we all did and we played it for a long time so here's the here's the version of of Pap and Paul singing that you can go listen to them it is just a beautiful song and it is so wonderful when you when you dream about loved ones that are gone you know I don't re I wish I dreamed about Pat but I just don't I don't know I wish that I could dream about him when he first died you know which he's been gone since 2016 so it's been a long time now uh Katie dreamed about him several times her and Corey both dreamed about a lot but it's funny in Katie's dreams most of the time it was like he he didn't know he was dead and Katie didn't want to tell him he was dead so that's the comical part I said if Daddy could only hear you say that describe that Katie he would just laugh you know he'd think that was so funny but um so they dreamed about him a lot but I just haven't U at all I've dreamed about him once or twice where I where it was just like I was you know if you're like me a lot of times in my dreams I'm not at this house I'm at Pap and Granny's house where I grew up so I've dreamed I'm down there and he's just kind of in the background doing what he would have done you know um I dreamed when not too long after he died I did dream me and him a crazy dream were somewhere like I mean I want to say like you know in KY Creek or somewhere if you're a local person when the lake is down like in the winter and people go down there and they mud go mudding you know and um we were somewhere like that and we were in Matt's old brown truck all of you that watch our videos the one I tried tried to sell when Matt broke up with me but me it just me and Pap and he was driving and and it was like we were in a hurry to get somewhere but we were in this place you know like that's all I could imagine was like it was where the lake had receded and that happens if you live near TVA lakes in the winter and a lot of times people go down there and try to four-wheel and stuff and um and I was nervous you know I was like Daddy Daddy is it going to be okay or whatever and we were like trying to go up this big hill and we couldn't go up it and he's changing gear and uh this is really just the crazy part of the dream it's just silly but it was just so real the realness of it is that I said something again and he said now hush and then he put it in gear and we went and went up the hill you know it's funny but it was just like a daddy would you know like he' said to me my whole life when I wouldn't when I was getting in trouble but of course in the dream I was a grown woman he said now hush and then he did what he needed to do and you know hold on and we got to the top of it and then that was that was crazy uh one time I dreamed that something about him I don't know it like I was at a place where a lot of other people was and we were working up it's almost like we were going to do something with sheep which we never had sheep it make any sense anyway but I've not dreamed about him very much I wish I wish I would um Paul had a really amazing dream about him and wrote a song about it I think I've told you about that before and this every year on Pap's birthday July 16th I think I should get Paul to tell that story he's told it on the Blind Pig and the acorn Channel and you can go watch that it's um I could even find it I guess and put it in there now that I've mentioned it to make it easy on you but but I wish that I would dream about him I have dreamed about Miss Cindy more than than I would have than I have Pap if that makes sense but for some reason I'm not I just don't get to dream about him I wish that and then another dreams are so interesting um anyway we don't want to hear that see if I can find Paul's song Do you ever sometimes I think these dreams are really a a blessing let me get this so this is the video from Paul where he talks about it in case you do want to go see it and about his dream but someday I'm gonna get him to come on here and I'm going to get him to tell about it here too I'm going to put make myself a note there anyway sometimes I dream about and I always think of it as such a gift I dream that Cory or Katie are little again like you know maybe they're babies maybe they're a toddler maybe they're three or four years old and I can just it's so real I can feel their little skin and you know maybe feel their FA their hands on my face I can smell them I can it's just so real I'm carrying them and I can feel the heft of them you know it's just such a treasure when I dream that when I dream about them being little again and um I can hear their little voices you know how they how little kids voices sound it's such a blessing to do that um I really love it when I that when that happens and dreams are really amazing uh we need to do we could do a whole subject talking about dreams I guess really interest I can get my friend Suzanne to come on and talk about dreams but I do wish I would I would dream more about Pat okay I'm gonna share and we'll get to the wisdom but this is my favorite song on that whole uh compilation there and it's again some that I've talked about already I think that's what started us talking about music every week was the I shared in the one of my first lives that on the way back and forth to the hospital from granny when Granny was in the hospital earlier this year that I listened to Dale mccu and that I'd forgot how much I loved it and it was old CD or whatever so this is the Dell McCurry band and the name of this song is recovering Pharisee so you have if you're a a Believer like I am you can go listen to it and realize how true it is that we're all just Sinners I mean you know of course we are saved by the grace of God if if you're a Believer and that's what you believe like I do but it just really gets to the heart of it that we are all just you know it's just a human the humanness in US you've heard a lot of people probably say Adam it's Adam in us well it's just all of us humans we have that um that propensity to do bad inside of us and of course some worse than others you know not saying that I've been out murdering people or anything like that but that is a really it's a really cute song in the way that it's written because it gets your attention you know I'm a recovering Pharisee but um it's really really smartly written and just so true every time I hear it I'm like yes that's me U you know that's me for sure so if you go listen to the Bluegrass gther Bluegrass homecoming I hope you enjoy it um it just takes like Corey said takes me right back to those days when they were you know young and running around and we were all in love with all these you know beautiful singers on there and who was our favorite and Ricky Skaggs is on there too I mean there's a lot of other people too that I left out they're all wonderful and like I said the Gaither sing some so uh really interesting I just shared some of my favorites but um really is nice to think back to those days music is like that it can take you back to I can hear songs um somebody have not talked about and I'm sure I will in the future is the louen brothers I can hear a Lou Len Brother song and feel like I'm five years old again standing behind Granny's dress tail at church or at a singing or somewhere or sitting in Pap's lap uh playing with his shirt you know I can just instantly be took back to being a really small child so music does that music can take you back all right let's share some of your wonderful wisdom you continue to leave the wisdom and I continue to love it so this is from I'm just a little bit says my mother told me tell me who you are with and I will tell you who you are that's a really good wise one she also told me it's better to be alone than in Bad Company kind of goes back to the first one there these two sayings have kept me out of trouble from childhood until now especially in childhood when I would be so eager to have friends um it's true and when we're younger but still even as adults we fall PR pray to peer pressure fall prey to peer pressure but that's good tell me who you're with and I will tell you who you are I love that thank you this is from Paul I said let's go we oh well this is not a wisdom but it just I I saved this because we talked about Burning uh daylight in one of the recent videos it may have even been in the last live but I said let's go we're burning daylight the other day at the doctor's office and the younger ones in the office just looked at each other and wondered what I meant it was last week live because I was it was a comment but then I was talking about how Pap used to hurry us along when we were playing music but burning daylight is very common here you'll have to see if it's common where you live you'll have to let me know so this is from Lee she talks about at the beginning my Matt's anniversary thank you so much for everyone that give us good wishes for that thank you and congratulations and congratulations to all of you who were celebrating too so Lee says I heard a wonderful word of advice from an older lady a while back her name is luzine Wilson that's granny but folks call her granny when asked by her granddaughter Corey if she had any words of wisdom for her fan she said always be kind best advice I've ever heard so thank you Lee I read that and got a real big smile I thought well that is good wisdom from granny so that's that's a good one thank you Lee and Granny's right always be kind is a good good wisdom this is from Devon words of wisdom when your grandsons get older and want to jump in mud puddles jump in with them the memories will last longer than the mud on them very true very true and kids do love to play in mud I used to love it and Coring caty did too this is from Karen words of wisdom from my granny they aren't really words of wisdom but just funny I spent every moment I could at my Granny's house it was my favorite place in the whole world every weekend and School holiday I would be at Granny's I remember us walking to the pond and fishing coming home and cleaning them and having them for lunch she taught me how to scale and dress a fish before I was 10 years old another fond memory was pulling up beets in her garden and then boiling them in the wash pot over a fire and slipping the Skins right off if I asked her what time it was she would say time old dogs were dead ain't you glad you're a puppy I love that humor that's real Appalachian humor there of course there was the one if someone asked you their name to respond with puding tang ask me again and I will tell you the same I had an uncle that would tease me with that if I ask her how old she was she'd answer with old is my nose and two big toes I'm gonna have to remember that one say it to iron woodro old is my nose and two big toes growing up if you got hurt while out playing or working on a task someone would say it will get well before you get married sadly I lost my granny when I was 10 but I still say my Fondest Memories growing up was with her ain't that so sweet uh grandparents are such a wonderful influence and such a blessing if you're able to have them have them in your life this is from Tina granny always said beauty is only skin deep ugly is clean through to the Bone staying busy keeps you out of trouble I love that thank you Tina this is from Tony Tony says Hey Tipper this isn't really words of wisdom but I think it's important for people to always remember that when you may be feeling low or less than that you are somebody and have some purpose have purpose to someone thank you Tony yes everybody needs to hear that that's for sure people need to be reminded of that uh from Linda now this is a really one of those deep ones that uh how like quotes qu Mathers wants you to makes you go down the road talking to yourself I read this years ago and have and I copied and always have it near I read this years ago and I copied and always have it near will not a tiny Speck very close to our vision blot out the glory of the world and leave only a margin by which we see the blot I know no spec so Troublesome as self George Eliot thank you Linda that one is really deep and really really wise I can see why you keep it beside you I need to need to do that myself this is one of the users so I can't tell it's like User pq6 nn5 it's a s though we just celebrated our 30th congratulations we're very blessed to have great Partners my mama always said if you don't listen you'll feel which is true about a lot in life and the best things in life aren't things my boys repeat both back to me those are really really good ones um Pap used to tell me kind of like that about if you're um if you li don't listen you'll feel in other words you're gonna find out Papa tell me Tipper you ought to always listen to somebody's been down that road before when I was not listening to him this is Glenn Jones said I used to tell my daughter when she was leaving do good have fun and you can do both when she was older I would begin with do good have fun and she would finish with and you can do both that is really wisdom for um when you're raising children and they're teenage years they're going out on their own that is really great thank you Glenn this is from SBN 49 AJ c98 again a s there happy anniversary 30 years is very special I was born in North Carolina raised and stayed in the South now at the age of 75 I've heard many wisdoms but the one my granddaddy always said to my sisters and I when we would leave the house is be particular I was young and needed to know what in the world that meant he was simply telling us to be careful and pay attention to what we're doing I loved my granddaddy and my cousins gave me a hard time about being his favorite I was love that that is good wisdom kind of goes right along with the one before this is from Diane wisdom cast your roses before the grave meaning don't wait till someone has passed to spend time with them and love on them or bring them flowers flowers at the funeral are nice but they can't smell them or enjoy them love on your loved ones while you still can that is really really wise time gets away from us so fast for one thing I wish so much I could go back and spend time with my especially my granny gazzy that I was just too busy being a teenager and running around um so time gets away from you and then we never know when we're going to be called called home when we're gonna leave this old world so we never know thank you Dian this is from dawn uh well d o n i s h a w i r my husband says this and practic it practices it always Candor moves things at warp speed meaning being open and honest leaves no room for misunderstandings and makes communication clear that is a really good one and I could use um I could use that advice to myself because I'm not I I just hate to bother people and I hate to it's just hard for me to say what I mean sometimes you might not believe that but it's true I talk so much but it is true so this is from uh user pv5 QB 7D h3i was a big b though my father-in-law was always telling me how hard people had it during the Depression he said he broke his arm eating breakfast he fell out of a Pon tree because he was eating the pons for breakfast he also told his mother that he also told that his mother kept them financially stable by writing and selling a cookbook titled 47 ways to make water gravy those are again that wonderful Appalachian uh humor coming through I really love those thank you um emilda emilda said don't trouble trouble till trouble troubles you really wise one and also today is a gift that's why they call call it the present I like that one I've heard that one before and you probably have too but it's good for us to remind ourselves of that because uh we're bad to worry about things in the past and to worry about things in the future instead of just accepting that wonderful present of today this is from Grandma Rez Grandma rez or re being a willful child mom often told me bows that don't bend may break that's a really good one a really wise one that could be for adults too bows that don't B may break this is from Donna Tipper the other day we heard a preacher say this you can't alter your past but you can take your past to the altar thought you might like that that's a really good one Kathy said I recently heard this phrase you can't hit the ball unless you take a swing a motto I've been living by for decades is I'd rather regret something I did than something I didn't do that's good for anyone that needs a little nudge to to try things and I sometimes I'm like that heaven bound said I heard this saying and loved it if you decide to leave me that's fine but I'm going with you uh that's what I would tell Matt he teases me about getting rid of him I'm like no I'm sorry you're just here to stay but I need to start take telling him that well if you decide to leave that's fine but I'm going with you you're not GNA get away from me thank you for that one Cheryl said my daddy used to say don't get wrapped around the axle which meant don't get so upset I miss his wisdom I love that unique way of saying that U you know all those you think you know calm down don't have a hissy fit take it down a notch all those kind of things but I love that don't get wrapped around the axle this is from Donna um Donna Smith my mother used to say you were beating the Devil around the bush if you avoided telling the truth without telling an outright lie I use that expression in writing a story no one in my writer group had ever heard it I've heard that one um hopefully you have too maybe you have you can tell us but beating the Devil around the bush if you're you're not really just telling a bald face lie we would say but you are not telling the truth U barbette barbette said my mother used to tell us remember when you leave this house you take our name with you and everything you do reflects on our family powerful reminder that decision we make impa impact our entire family very true and very wise um this is another one of those that's really deep like I was saying that you might you go down the road talking about yourself and I can't see the full name so I apologize it's an m and then it's m a r can't see the rest of it though but there's a quote by George Bernard Shaw I always think of when I hear stories about marriages going sour the Liar's punishment is not in the least that he is not believed but that he cannot believe anyone else that one's really powerful when you study on it congratulations on your wedding anniversary thank you thank you for that I think there's one more this is again there was lots of them about marriage and stuff because talking about anniversary but this is from Flat Rock Nana Flat Rock Nana when I was a young bride my mama told me that there would be times when I just have to scratch my mad place and carry on um that's a good one a few weeks ago we shared someone shared the one that you can get glad in the same pants that you got mad in that they're mother would say that uh but that's good you just have to scratch my mad place and carry on thank you Flat Rock Nana that's a good one and I think that was I think that was it for us this week no Maybe I'm Wrong let's see no there's one more one more yeah okay I got one more for you this is
