West Ham 2 Crystal Palace 0 CPFC Paddy Match Reaction

[Applause] right so this is the second time I've had to record this seeing it's the first time I left it on my webcam mic instead of using this thing which is much better so West Ham 2 Crystal Palace zero not a good result it hasn't been a good start to the season and obviously we really need to improve look West Ham are a good side and they're certainly more ambitious than us and you just look at their transfer window but even so coming to cellers park you know we ought to be getting something from that game and West Ham don't have a great record at Crystal Palace too let's not forget that so in terms of our starting lineup overall I'm pretty happy with it I noticed that Glo decided to play Edward over s which is interesting so clearly s he feels isn't quite ready and also we played Chari Riad so it' be interesting to see how he performed now look I'll be honest with you the game wasn't televised in the country that I live in so I've only been able to watch about 3 minutes worth of highlights and also I've had a look at the statistics from the game and so on so obviously you can't really take my opinion too seriously today but you know I've got something to say so I may as well so looking at the highlights it looked like we played some good football in the first half we certainly created more opportunities for ourselves than West Ham aay coming close hitting I think was it the crossbar um I think so I'll have to go back and have a look at that I think the one moment however that I was disappointed with was West Ham they were able to carve out an opportunity for themselves and it all started out with a poor pass from Chi Riyad you know he tried to play that ball down the wing to Tyreek Mitchell he all the time in the world and yet he plays that sloppy pass basically gifts it to West Ham maybe you can put that down to nerves it is after all his first game for Crystal Palace at sellur Park but even so you know he needs to smarten up and I have to say it's not a good sign from a brand new signing second half again it looked like perhaps we started well but West Ham they got opener kind of ping pong in the box and after that they scored you know shortly afterwards clearly it looks like um we're having to press them having got that goal and they beat us on the counter straight away and for me that's a worrying sign because it suggests that we panicked um and I hope that wasn't the case again the second goal could Chad Riyad have done better I mean he's caught in two minds isn't he because he's having to Mark the West Ham Striker that's C playing centrally so he's got to say right well do I go out and make that tackle or do I just you know try and block that interception and and make it harder for him in the end he kind of do doesn't either um he looked quite indecisive to me you know make a decision and then it's easier for Dean Henderson to figure out whether he's going to come out and anyway not good but I don't know whether that was truly his fault or not again I didn't get to see the game yeah not a good start to the season and this is just proof that we need to strengthen I think maybe the fact that we lost Alis um as you know aay and Alis had such a good partnership so with that gone maybe A's struggling a bit to kind of find that Rhythm but either way this is something that we need to deal with um it's glaser's job to get him firing and all four cylinders again you know in terms of coaching and listen the one small bit of encouragement that I seem to find people say people said that we genuinely didn't play badly that you know yesterday so hopefully it all click into place at some point because we finished the season so strongly last year and it'd be such a shame to be in a situation where you know we just finish mid-table again I want better I want to see Crystal Palace progress I'm fed up of just finishing mid lower mid table year in year out it gets boring truth be told um you know I want to feel like we're you know aiming for something I want to see a bit of silverware as well and I know that might seem a bit ridiculous coming from a Crystal Palace fan because we not really won an awful lot throughout the club's history but that's What sport's about it's not about just oh being happy oh be happy you're playing Premier League football no no no we we need to have a go something have a go at winning the FA Cup The League Cup even just qualifying for Europe would feel like something but I don't want another season like last season so anyway enjoy the rest of your weekend I certainly will take care bye now [Applause] oh
