volleyball team playing the ABCA first serve showcase at the Yum Center in Louisville tonight they faced number two team of the country Nebraska Forida Florida start that again Forest Tucker was there and files this report for the second year in a row Kentucky drops an early season matchup to Nebraska the cats losing three sets to one here in Louisville at the hands of the Huskers after going down one to nothing from a first set loss UK rallied back to tie the match one to one but a lackluster third set put Kentucky behind the eight ball losing it by 10 points Nebraska got in the groove and took control winning the fourth set and putting away the match regardless of the loss head coach Craig Skinner says that individually and as a team the cats are in a good place Brooke pulled TMA and Aaron lamb both back after injury troubles last season and played well today the latter with 14 kills I mean I think this team is a lot of fight uh I know like we had nothing to lose coming out in this game and I think we knew that we played a good first set and we just know put it away and look just looked ahead and focused on what we can do rather than how we're doing or how we're playing um and that's what I really felt I really felt us come together and we played Kentucky volleyball um and just trusted our shots trusted committed to what we knew and what we we've been training this law stings but it should not for long Kentucky has a grand reopening of Memorial Coliseum to look forward to this Friday at 6:30 versus Northern Kentucky forest Tucker ABC 36 Sports
