we can now bring in our chief foreign editor Rob Parsons Rob in a statement just a couple of minutes ago we had Ukraine's president commenting uh saying the country needed a new energy when talking about this new uh uh cabinet reshuffle so is that why kba has been shown the I could well be that you know it's very difficult to to read this at the moment till we know a little bit more and who The Replacements are going to be and who from the the ones who are being pushed into resignation if they're being pushed into it or whe they're taking the step themselves are going to be moving to other posts in the government but you know it would make sense in a way you know Ukraine has been at War for two and a half years now uh there haven't been elections as there should have been this year elections would Norm Norm normally have been a time when there could have been a replenishment of the of the cabinet uh so perhaps it's it's just adjusting to circumstances uh and trying to bring in new blood uh as he says you know fresh blood new Strength new ideas with uh with difficult times coming and there's no you know there's no doubt about that the wi Winter's just around the corner uh Ukraine faces a a really difficult time with energy you know not not to mention the rocket attacks that are happening all the time but these are significant people who are who were moving the Dimitri kouba for instance the foreign minister Deputy Prime Minister for Euro and Euro Atlantic integration Deputy foreign minister Deputy Prime Minister for integration temporary occupied ter min's Justice Minister you know there are a lot of people who are involved in this uh David Aram is the head of the rooing servant of the people FR fraction in the parliament uh said it was a major reset doesn't seem to be corruption related primarily uh an infusion of New Blood uh we're getting a report uh we need to confirm of course saying that that meeting in fact has ended in Parliament but uh that uh the foreign Minister's resignation was not considered we'll get you more details on that when we get it but it as you said the Deputy Prime Minister's uh resignation has been confirmed uh let's talk about the Russian strikes which in fact do continue and just overnight targeted the Western city of Lviv yeah oh yesterday we had a strike on pava 55 people believed to have been killed now and hundreds injured uh pava is not a city that has been subjected to heavy bombardment over the two and a half years of this War uh and neither has lff in the west uh it has been attacked as has paava but not on the sort of frequent basis that we seen in cities like hark uh and of course Kiev uh but seven people killed overnight it was a strike on the center uh of the city the historic center of the city and for that reason alone shocking uh you know many of the buildings are you protected buildings there's nothing particularly there s suggests there were milit milary targets although the Russians are saying that they uh they aimed their missiles uh Hypersonic kinal missiles at military targets uh but there's no doubt that they did destroy ordinary housing that they did destroy clinics and they did destroy schools and that seven people including a whole family uh were were killed as a consequence and there were attacks all all over Ukraine you pava the night before har ofsi zapia uh which just gives you an idea of the constant bombardment and brings us back to this whole issue the big debate at the moment amongst the Western allies who are supporting Ukraine is whether Ukraine should be given the means to defend themselves against these longrange attacks uh striking all over the country at the moment Ukraine desperately asking for not just air defense but for missiles which can strike at the airfields and other places from where uh these missile attacks are coming
