that was Dwayne Martin acting opposite Courtney Cox who joins us now and did you have fun doing the first one I mean you must have or you wouldn't have come back for the second one yeah it was it's the greatest experience doing these movies they're really fun they're they're silly they're um it's great I really really enjoy making well I just thought the script was so good and it's so unique that um I loved it well I think that's what people found so fabulous about the first one it was so unique it was so different and to actually have you know Wes Craven making jokes about the genre all the way through if you can get through the first 10 minutes which I tried to crawl over my husband to get out of the theater the first 10 minutes it was so scary and then I couldn't stop laughing yeah actually my publicist just said the same thing that I I didn't see her we went to a screening together and she said she was standing by the door after the first during the first 10 minutes of the second movie because it's just he just kind of gets you in there and um it's really really scary this one's actually scarier than the first one but Wes Craven is an amazing director the way he um translates uh Kevin Williamson's work who's the writer I don't know the cross refences it's it's just it's really great you laugh with it it's not one of those like scary movies where you're laughing at it because it's corny right we're kind of making fun of things but we're we'll scare you to the point of no end now when you first met Wes we completely surprised because when I met Wes a few years ago I was expecting like some ghoul and he's this sweet man I love that man I mean he's he's so not what you would think I was so excited the first time I had lunch with him I was just kind of staring at him though and I was expecting him to like all a sudden like whip out the knife or something he's just great he's so funny and he's extremely smart but he's just um oh he's gentle but yet has a really good dry sense of humor and he's strong he's everything he's really um let's just talk about a West day because he's so amazing when uh when you started doing these films was it was it hard to get used to the blood and the gore I mean I know it's just you know fake this and fake that but is it just a little creepy to be in it all day long well it's not really creepy you don't get scared as you're doing the movie so much because you know it just feels like oh it's so gross don't touch me please but um uh for some reason it doesn't matter how much how many times you could have blood on you or how many it still like scares me when I see the scenes that even the ones that I'm I'm in and I know you know what's going to happen you know who Liv I know who's chasing me that was the prop guy ex exactly um and were you surprised at the success of the first movie I mean it turned out to make how much money I'm not you know what that's one part of this business I'm not good at but I can tell you it was over a 100 but I don't wow so over 100 m Matthew Perry's really good about saying numbers I don't know know oh yeah he does that other show I'm not what I don't know that that other show you do friendly something happy people together I don't know um that other network but uh but were you surprised that it it really became such a cult favor or did you kind of have a gut instinct that it was going to be successful um I think I I didn't know I just I as as we were doing it Wes edits a lot you know I can't talk it's just too early would you like to suck on my coffee cup because it um no no I saw a lot of the movie while we were filming it and I kind of thought this was going to be amazing but I had no idea I don't I can't I don't know well it turned out to be a huge success and this one will too and we look forward to seeing it we do me a favor we say happy birthday to my husband Don who's a huge fan yeah where do I say that just say it right there oh the one with the red light yeah okay happy birthday Don I'm going to get the biggest Christmas present thank you so much coming up did you order that item by phone did it arrive late in pieces or not at all there's something you can do about it watch the buck starts here next when Good Morning America continues [Music]
