what's going on everyone Chris from pick dogs.com here with your free pick in the Stanford versus TCU college football matchup going down Friday August 30th 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between Stanford and TCU you got Stanford Cardinal they had the debut of Troy Taylor as their head coach last year Taylor coming over from Sacramento State didn't have the best season in his debut year you know the Cardinal went just three and N overall they went 2- seven in Pack 12 play now they will make the transition to the ACC and this is still a Stanford team that you know had showed some fight last year and you've got Ashton Daniels back at quarterback he came un strong in the second half of the Season ell aamor is back he's their main target he's going to be a high volume receiver for this Stanford offense he was huge especially in that come from behind effort against Colorado you know there's you know going to be some uh some new faces in the uh in the back field for uh for for Stanford Jaden um excuse me Ashton Daniels and Cedric Irvin gonna likely have to lead the ground attack but I think there's just a lot of upside for Stanford going forward once this team starts playing together on the other side you got TCU coming off of their national championship appearance in 2022 they went just five- seven last year they went three and six in Big 12 play now they got a new starting quarterback and Josh Hoover he's likely going to get us uh the first crack at starting gig threw for over 2200 yards last year 15 touchdowns to nine picks you got Ken seals transferring over from Vanderbilt they're going to have other you know solid receiving options savan Williams JP Richardson Eric McAllister comes over from Boise State now cam cook is going to probably have to be the the lead back in uh in Fort Worth but I still think the TCU is going to have some solid pieces and they're going to be able to hang around in the Big 12 this season but for this game I think I have to go with the over here and maybe a lean towards Stanford and the points I just don't know really what to expect from either team in week one but if there's one thing I know about these coaching staffs especially these head coaches it's that Troy Taylor when he was at Sacramento State he'd liked to push the pace Sunny dkes likes to move the ball up and down the field and we saw that these are two teams that were top 25 in Pace of play last year you know uh in in terms of you know plays run per game and you know Stanford had some solid offensive showings i' referenced it earlier that come from behind Victory where I think they came from like 28 points down or 27 points down against Colorado and won that game in overtime 4643 and TCU like I said we saw them against Colorado they' put up 42 and a loss but there's still a lot of pieces that can move the ball these two teams both have been questionable defensively well I do think there will be growth this season I think we might see some points in the opener I could easily see like a 35 31 kind of game to start the season not my favorite game on the board on Friday I actually think Friday is a really tough card for college football but I'll stick with the over and I'll lean towards Stanford and the points in this one and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscrib to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those a pick dogs premium while your pick dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day action thanks for watching see you guys soon
