Detroit Lions Injury Report Week 2

so the first thing that we want to look at is the Lions injury report the Lions did um released an injury report today so we won't talk about the injured reserve people because we already know they are there were some surprises on this list no practice this is the no practice section so pan Su ankle new injury Edge Marcus Davenport groin new injury safety Kirby Joseph hamstring new injury um and we know that if he okay we don't know that he didn't practice because of his situation sometimes he'll practice sometimes he won't practice like I said the last time we saw him at practice he did look pretty good so we will have to continue looking at that but per the Free Press Dave burette Su got his ankle rolled up on during week one but managed to play through the injury burkat says him being kept out on Wednesday was precautionary and Su told him I'm good Su did not show any signs of aggravation during the game so this appears to be proactive injury SL pain management we should know more in the coming days uh Davenport also appeared to get dinged up during the game but also played through and finish the game on the field like with Su this could be precautionary or something to monitor but we won't know until until later on in the week you see how they threw that in there they said like with Su this could be precautionary or something to monitor yeah with Su it was just precautionary and Sul said that he was good but this did not come from Marcus Davenport Marcus Davenport didn't tell anyone he was good uh I was keeping my eye out on on Marcus Davenport and then once he finished the game upright I was like yes he made it through week one but apparently that wasn't the case man this is what I was saying about Marcus Davenport and I'm I am not taking any Victory laps and I do not hope that he misses any time but it's just man his situation with injuries the guy doesn't seem to be able to catch a break I mean and this is something that he might not even miss any time from but it's just okay this Nick here this bump here this bruise here it's like man can't the guy just get through one game where he's just completely unscathed and we don't have to hold our breaths until the end of the week to to see if he's on the final you know injury report if he's out or doubtful or questionable I just really just want to see him play football man I just want to see the man play football cuz when he plays football he's violent and he's good at it he's really good at it remember when Al mcneel said I can I know when Marcus Davenport is next to me cuz I can just hear him hitting people come on man we need this guy for the entire season we need him for 17 games so this is yeah something to keep an eye on for sure especially because it's Marcus Davenport and the injury history that he has all right um Joseph was spotted during the initial portions of practice warm-ups but appeared to exit practice and garnered a no practice designation it's unclear when he injured his hamstring and not much more is known at this time uh hamstrings again are tricky we were happy to see that jir Gibbs was able to get back uh for week one but he injured his hamstring two weeks prior now if he had injured his hamstring a week before the game does he play in it if he had injured his hamstring 4 days before the the game does he playing it the answer for the four games thing is probably or the four days thing is probably no so now that Kirby has tweaked his hamstring and it seems as though he did it in practice somehow I don't know if it was just uncomfortable if he went out there for warm-ups wasn't you know it's feeling like something wasn't right with his hamstring maybe it was a little bit too tight or whatever the case may be and he just went in and got treatment let's hope this that's what it was um and not an actual injury because if it was an actual injury of the hamstring I don't know that Kirby will be playing this game and we need Kirby Joseph 100% And you'll see why in a bit okay uh mifan who has been in and out of practices as he deals with an injury that has been tabbed as slow healing by the Lions coaching staff when he will be able to return to action is unknown at this time right right so I alluded to that uh in the beginning when I said we don't know really his status because he's in practice he's not in practice uh when he's in practice he looks good so I don't know how much stress and strain that they can put on it um it seems as though he's dealing with the same thing that Christian mcaffrey is dealing with which is uh achilles tendonitis okay or tendonosis or one of those things so hopefully you know he can get back to playing soon but again we do not know all right so that is for the no practice for limited practice there was only one and that was Jameson Williams with his ankle obviously we saw that uh Williams left Sunday's game briefly after he took an end round for a 13 yard game he returned to the game and had an effective rest of the game including his 52 yard touchdown so we already knew I mean when I saw it live I didn't think it was anything serious and he did come back in the game and he did play pretty pretty well okay n he played great this Dynamic okay we know that 52 yard touchdown that 52 yard touchdown if you guys haven't watched uh my film breakdown I did a film breakdown of the things that J did the things that the Rams were doing against J and some of the opportunities that we have going forward some of the opportun that we missed in that game so make sure after the show you go ahead and check out that video It's called Jameson Williams film review so you can't miss it um you know it was bit shaky it was the first time that I had done it live um so you know check that out hopefully you guys enjoy it and hopefully as we progress through I'll get more you know in depth more in detail I didn't want to use a lot of technical terms I didn't want to talk about what coverage they were and I didn't want to nerd out as they say cuz I just wanted to make sure that everyone could you know understand the point of what I was saying um I didn't want to do too much of that so full practice uh DJ reader quad upgraded to a full practice expected to make Lion's debut this week going to talk about that col Davis chess that was a new injury okay I think it was more so cuz you know when they say like a person is is is proud they puff out their chest I think he hurt his pride because that ball did hit him in the chest and he landed on his chest he landed on his pride he hurt his pride okay when it happened I said he wasn't hurt he was just pissed at himself that he missed that interception uh that I had been calling for that M those you know those are the types of plays that Matthew Stafford is prone to make we know he makes those plays we know he'll throw you a pick six in the waning moments of the game uh to seal it for you the the opposing team so I called for it Matthew Stafford threw it Carlin Davis just didn't catch it hit him right in the chest shades of jasi tart shades of jasi tart all right uh Lauren Strickland thumb returned after missing all of last week so Lauren Strickland was at practice he was a full participant uh so possibly look for him to play to be active this week so reader has been steadily improving since he was move removed from pup a few weeks ago and barring a setback in his Rehabilitation this week he should be ready to make his Lions debut against the Bucks yeah I feel good I'm excited about where I'm at reader told the media Wednesday I'm excited just to get out there with the guys Davis missed one play after uh failing to NAB an intercept ception against the Los Angeles Rams toward the end of regulation he appears good enough to play this week against his former team okay I don't think that Carlton Davis even if it is like a real injury I I think he has to be immobile right like they have to immobilize him for him not to play in this game okay so I fully expect car Davis to go um hopefully he remains healthy throughout the rest of the week so he can go and get his Revenge game against the Buccaneers Strickland missed all three practices and the game last week but a return to practice on Wednesday is an encouraging sign especially with melaan who not practicing he'll still need to stack practices before he will return to game action but it's certainly reasonable to think he could make his debut uh his NFL debut on Sunday all right so that is what we have for the Lions injury report and we'll get to the Buccaneers injury report in a bit thank you for watching the all grit pod if you enjoyed this content make sure you like subscribe to the channel and turn on your notifications so you can
