and playing well. We have seen 40 plus year old quarterbacks have some success. Of course, Brett Favre's magical 2009 season before that, final pass in the Superdome there, Drew Brees still played at a high level despite a deteriorating shoulder. Tom Brady obviously won a Super Bowl in Tampa as he got up to age 40 as well. But that's more or less the inclusive list if you go back the past several decades, unless you're going to go all the way back to Sonny Jurgensen. Okay. There's not many quarterbacks I've seen do it. And by the way, none of those guys were coming off a torn Achilles. Judy. So the question is, for a Jets team that spent so many resources this offseason fortifying the offensive line, making sure there's a protection unit, they obviously feel they've got a championship caliber defense. How much realistically should they be expected to get from this version of Aaron Rodgers in 2024? Well, first of all, Aaron Rodgers I don't think even has to be back to pre Achilles Aaron Rodgers to elevate the Jets significantly from what we saw last season. He just has to be able to get the ball to the right place. And Aaron Rodgers is going to be able to do that. When he's 85 years old. He can still throw the ball what he's going to have to do, and this was why it was so important that they upgrade the offensive line, because you got to protect him in a way that in those four snaps, they weren't protecting him even before the Achilles snap. What they can expect from him is, though, smart decision making, not making the silly mistakes. This is a team that can run the ball. Has Garrett Wilson, a superstar as a wide receiver, Mike Williams coming in and has a really good defense. Think of what the Jets were doing when they were playing competitive games last year and when they were still in the playoff mix. Even after he got hurt, they were playing close games, defensive dominated. They were running the ball with Breece Hall and then it came apart because the quarterback play was poor. This does not have to be Aaron Rodgers of the peak green Bay years to get the Jets into the playoff picture. It needs to be better than what we saw last year, and it needs to just be like an average level Aaron Rodgers kind of season. This is a guy who gives you a chance to win every game, but that's all they need. But to see Aaron Rodgers just want to be good enough to win the division no. He in the Super Bowl. That's why you want to be a bomb correct. But then that's why you know you've got Joey Burrow and Lamar and all these guys to get through. So he's going to. So it's not on him though. And I like what you said smart decisions because all the questions about the play caller Nathaniel Hackett Aaron Rodgers will be there to clean that up at the line of scrimmage. Whatever He'll be able to clean up some of those things and get his teammates going. What I am little, a little bit concerned about, not that much is the wide receiver because Mike Williams, we don't know. He's coming off a significant knee injury. It is going to take some time for him to get going. There's not a significant amount of big time playmakers behind that. So that's where the run game is going to have to come in. That improved offensive line. But Aaron Rodgers again, his ability to clean up some of the messes, potential messes before they happen. I think that's going to be the biggest bounce at the Jets. I think that's a huge point, too, because it's not just what he's doing within the scope of the play, it's getting them into the right play, right? The entire offense was structured around Aaron Rodgers ability to have 2 or 3 plays at the line of scrimmage that Nathaniel Hackett can give him, and then make the right read on the pre-snap or at times be throwing the backside option on a designed run play. Those are the things that Aaron Rodgers has done throughout the course of his career. I would ask you this, Judy, when we're talking about an average Aaron Rodgers, if Aaron Rodgers is a borderline top ten player, not an MVP for the fifth time in his career, not one of the best quarterbacks in the game, if he is a borderline nine 10th best quarterback in the NFL, is this a playoff team in New York? Yes. Oh, yes. If you had had top ten level quarterback play with last year's version of the Jets, they would have been a wild card team and this is a better Jets roster than the Jets had last year. There's no question if a top ten. So he's not Patrick Mahomes, he's not Lamar Jackson. He's not Joe Burrow right. Like he's he's in that okay. Yeah The Jets would take them no question. And the bills we don't know we're going to get out of them because Josh Allen and the bills are going through what I feel like is a little bit of a reset season. Right. The Dolphins I mean you know I'
