good Thursday afternoon San Antonio I'm meteorologist Mia Montgomery with this weather authority update not as hot as yesterday where we hit 108 degrees in the Alamo City marking the hottest temperature San Antonio has seen in the past 11 years but it is still going to be very toasty out there this afternoon a forecast high of 105 if that verifies that will break the pre-existing record high for the day of 103 but better News lies ahead temperatures will Trend down into the upcoming weekend we're back in the upper 90s mid 90s possible early next week with a few isolated chances for rain so let's talk about it again 105 today feeling closer to 110 for a few hours especially by 4 to 5:00 like what we saw yesterday though a few isolated storms could pop up between 5:00 p.m. and 10 p.m. as temperatures gradually fall through the 90s and eventually into the upper 80s later on tonight 106 off to the south in Stinson 105 in Pleasanton 103 out east Gonzalez 104 this afternoon in kville I mentioned that % chance for an isolated shower or storm very similar to what we saw yesterday better odds will be North of Highway 90 up into the Hill Country coverage is still expected to be somewhat low but if you do tap into a quick storm do know that some pockets of heavy rain perhaps some Gusty winds and even isolated instances of thunder and lightning will be a possibility so we'll keep tabs on that for you later on this evening once again tomorrow not as hot near 100 degrees though still in the afternoon 20% chance for an evening storm then we're back in the 90s looking ahead to the weekend and into next week
