Injury Updates and Camp Highlights another day of training camp in the books hi again everyone and welcome into Cincinnati Bengals talk I'm James rine of Bengals talk.com here where it is bright it is sunny on day number 10 of Bengals practice of training camp 2024 let's get to uh really the unfortunate news of the day the unfortunate news of Camp to this point cam sample out for the season suffered at toriles last week when he was carted off the field it just really really unfortunate news for the year defensive end that has versatility that can kick inside that really in the trey Hendrickson Sam hubard era has been that third defensive end that stabilized that room and so without him well you're looking at two young guys uh to step up whether it's miles Murphy whether it's Joseph osai you need both of those guys to step up you need uh this young defensive line room in general uh to step up and today and it was just one day but they did exactly that I have some more had a good stretch of practices over the the past few days really disruptive today brought it got around Orlando Brown Jr for multiple run stops in uh the or or with the offense backed up they were working with the offense backed up on the one and2 yard line osai would have had a safety on one play where he came down got past Orlando Brown Jr and would have tackled Zach moss in the end zone and this was the first time where we saw more than a little thud I don't think it was full live tackling but the defense certainly uh brought a little physicality to team drills there was only one period of Team drills a big special teams practice but Joseph Osa looked the part today played really well and like I said that's the past couple of days for a guy in osai and then another guy that you're looking for and I thought yesterday played the run really really well had some nice run stops today might have brought Joe bro down for a safety if it was a real game miles Murphy miles Murphy beat amarius rims around the edge and came around and would have uh definitely gotten to Joe burrow would burrow have thrown it away I'm not sure but uh really really nice rep there from Murphy he's been really good in the Run game as well so overall I would say the two guys the Bengals need to step up have stepped up to this point uh is as far as the offense goes in that team period Charlie Jones had a nice catch and things did get a little heated uh today where it wasn't too crazy there wasn't a fight but Joseph osai shoved Charlie Jones after his catch and Charlie popped up said a little bit threw the ball at him and so we had that on the very next play Logan Wilson just runs through Andre yavash on a screen play and Alex Kappa took exception to that there was a little pushing that was that but certainly it's hot these guys are tired it's day 10 of training camp and so you saw a little fire a key member of the Bengals defensive line did leave on a cart with an injury we will have battling with Austin mamera Brad Robbins in Pole Position has the lead is listed as the starter on the depth chart right now Zack Taylor didn't commit to all three punting in the preseason so we will Hendrickson and Sam Hubert are both week to week McKinley Jackson suffered what looked like a leg SL ankle injury limped off the field and was being looked at by head trainer Matt Summers for a bit on the side and then was ultimately carded to the locker room so hopefully it's nothing serious I imagine he will undergo X-rays and we'll get the latest on him but that is the latest on McKinley Jackson the Bengals third round rookie that is expected to play that nose tackle position uh for Cincinnati and then the other note today Trent Brown activated yesterday practiced today and didn't go through team drills the Bengals set to take it really nice and slow with the veteran the 10-year vet but he did uh participate in individual drills he was out there and uh I wasn't able to get a ton of video uh of of Trent Brown partially cuz he was on the other side of the field but overall uh it's good to see him back out there and you could just tell the physical the physicality that he's going to bring to the offensive line room and I think it's really nice you have Mims who's played well overall you have a guy in brown who they're easing in they're working him in he's had some injuries in his past so I get them easing him in Zack Taylor did say today he's comfortable with Trent Brown not playing in the preseason they know what he brings so I think they will take it slow with him I don't think there's any chance he plays on Saturday against the Buccaneers I think a lot of these veterans even if they do end up starting hubard Hendrickson Brown definitely expected to sit against the
