Intro welcome back to another episode of The Practice players podcast today we're joined by one of my good friends Brady Paris Brady is currently a graduate assistant at UNLV and uh spent a couple years as a walk on you know with with me and organ and uh Brady for the people that don't know you that are listening if you just kind of want to explain your life Journey your basketball journey and how you've uh got into the position that you're in today yeah I want to say thank you guys for having me I listen fre quently and it's great to be here um where should I start I grew up in Lakewood Colorado just outside of Denver um grew up playing every sport basketball baseball football but always had a love for basketball my dad played college basketball and just always you know I was a younger brother so was always you know this short one in the driveway getting pushed around by my older brother and um just always had that underdog mentality and uh went through high school went to a a good Catholic High School in Denver um played with all my best friends which is a dream they're still my best friends to this day um got recruited by Regis University in Denver Colorado about 20 minutes from home uh great staff great players they were just coming off a conference tournament so a really good D2 program um had the opportunity originally to be a division one walk-on but felt like I wanted to roll roll the dice at the D2 and then my sophomore year I was like a backup point guard coming off the bench we had games getting cancelled covid tests all over the place just that year was a mess for anyone who was involved um just a school of that size with you know probably the budget we had wasn't you know sustainable to do all the testing and things like that um and just the way that year went I wanted to go into the portal and see what could happen and thought I'd go to another D2 um spoke to a few different schools and had a family friend who knew coach Alman and Coach Alman was looking for Walk-Ons and you know she said you know would you be interested and you know I don't think anyone turns down an opportunity to go to Oregon and looking back it was probably the best decision I've ever made coach alman's a a Hall of Fame coach and a great coach for a reason um obviously what everyone knows the facilities are second and none uh the gear is great um met so many great people up there was my first time leaving Denver um look back at those two years is two of the best years I've had um didn't have the team success that we wanted but you know selfishly I I got so much out of those two years from coach Alman and everyone else up there and then I graduated in 2023 and thought I wanted to see what the world was like outside of basketball although I still you know had a a strong inclination that I'd come back to it at some point and spent a year working a a regular nine-to-five job and about four or five months in really got the urge to to get back to the game and um started reaching out to people I knew and um coach Krueger here at UNLV has a great relationship with Coach Alman and it just worked out that they were looking for a grad assistant and uh met with Coach Krueger coach Saxon and just seemed like the right fit I was already out here living in Vegas and uh 15 when the school 15 minutes away is an option um it just checked all the boxes and I've been here about two months and it's been great coach Krueger's great the entire staff is super experienced knows exactly what they're doing exactly what they want this group to be and uh we got two more days left to Summer practice before we go on a little bit of a break but it's been probably even better than I thought and that's where I am now talking to you guys and I love it that's a great story Dan's Player Comparisons and I want to talk about your D2 experience but before we get into that I need to know as someone who spent either fortunately or unfortunately a lot of time around Daniel Allen depending on how you view it what would you compare his game to like NBA comparison player comparison even college level oh man let me think is he making his threes because I've seen like two versions of him where he's hot and sometimes when he's cold I'll give him the hot I'm going to give him the I'm going to go with gosh who do you play like Daniel I'm gonna go with a little bit of like a ah I can't think of anyone maybe like a I'm a nuggets guy I'm gonna go with like Prime Gary Harris 18 points a game 2017 or 2018 Gary Harris knockdown shooter good def defense big team guy glue guy I'm gonna go with my guy Gary Harris you lost on defense everything else is great lost me on the defense hey I I watched a few manager games where it got chippy and Daniel was Daniel was locking up so I'll give my guys some love I I will say my defense has gotten better it has got I can get on that if you asked me if you told me three or four years ago I'd say yeah it was well I would say you had a huge growth spurt too like high school Daniel was a liability but high school Daniel was like 5'5 56 then you sprout to 61 it a lot you know what I'm saying it got better for sure yeah yeah no I I don't mind the Gary Harris comparison though he's great role player underrated role player so exactly I appreciate the comparison there exactly I'm curious to know the cold version though yeah yeah cold version Oh man cold version maybe like a reps up every day there's gonna be there's gonna be nights where I'm off sounds like an excuse sounds like an excuse he hasn't even said the player comparison yet you're already given ex let let him give his player first I'm gonna go with I'm a nuggets guy I'm trying to think of uh old nuggets players that are like that pretty good Defender can make maybe like a maybe like a late stages Paul milap okay late late late stage I'm talking like nuggets Paul milap after his his years on the Hawks yeah yeah yeah I deserve that I I you know I'm not I'm not perfect he was a max player where the ball's not going in the hoop but we gave him a Max contract so I think you know matters if I'm not hitting shots I got to be you know playmaking and doing that sort of thing so you know um we'll uh you know we we'll see we'll see how that goes I think I've gotten better at that you know since since Dave's shaking his head um become a better but you've because of your height I think you've just gotten drastically better at in all aspects of basketball yeah yeah I'd agree but you know I still know my my limitations of who I am as a player I think the athleticism hasn't changed everything else has no gotten better no the athleticism hasn't changed at all it's never changed you've been lifting though you've been lifting yeah that yeah you know work out a little bit more but that's that's about it yeah know to transition back to it obviously you played at the D2 level for D2 Experience Regis before going to Oregon what was your biggest you know takeaway or stuff that you still remember as a learning moment from that oh man there's so many things I could think of you know I'm very fortunate that program and that coach specifically is they're huge on toughness you know we practiced at 6:00 a.m. my freshman year at College I had to get up at 4:15 a.m. to walk through the snowy Campus of Denver and go get taped at 4:30 and practice at 6 and still went through a full day of class I think overall what I learned there is just people or you have to love the game if you really you know want to play in college I think you know at a school like that and at the D2 level you still get you know some athletic scholarship and you know some gear but you know it's a grind and you know most of the games my freshman year my parents were the only people in the crowd at at our home games and um you're playing in front of no fans you know you're playing in small gyms our conference is in the middle of the country North Dakota South Dakota Nebraska New Mexico you're busting it everywhere we're splitting Little Caesars Pizzas in the vans on our way home from the games like you just you know you have to love playing the game you can't fake it um and if you're in love with everything that comes with it the perks I I just don't think you'll truly be special so I think you know seeing how hard guys worked at that level for nothing really gave me an advantage when I went to a school like Oregon and you had you know a little bit more to play for you just flashed me back I had the same thing at my junior college our practices were at 6:30 in the morning but there's no dorms on campus so and the school is like probably 25 30 minutes away from where I lived so I was up at 5 5:30 every day this was my freshman year was covid year so that was like we were practicing with masks on and it was it was the worst it was like 6:30 to 900 a.m. practice and everything was online I'd go home at 9:00 a.m. and my day would be done I'd be like right to go get a lift in at like 24-Hour Fitness cu the whole weight room facility was was shut down so we literally like oh and like the the buses same thing we were taking Sprinter vans to away games bro like two Sprinter vans there was one trip where we took one Sprinter van and we had 14 of us and you like those Sprinter vans there's like four rows of three there's like this little section that you're allowed to like get into the side of the van to get into the row so there was two of us sitting on the floor of the van going to games yeah it was crazy bro yeah no those uh those experiences will definitely teach you or show you how much you really love basketball if you make it through those times um I had a question for you you obviously played two years your D2 and Differences between playing D1 vs D2 then and then playing at a D1 level what what do you think is like the biggest difference between the two biggest difference I have a on court like a playing difference then I'll tell you like a little bit off the court on the court it's the athleticism I think because D2 players and D3 players can shoot it like it's not like you know D1 players are just shooting the lights out in D2 D3 can't shoot everyone can shoot dribble pass whatever skill you want to do but that athleticism and the size at the division one level was the main thing when I first got to Oregon that took me the longest to adjust to um we were talking about Luke earlier I'll tell a little story um I've done a move my entire life like a little like Rondo show and then like you know turn around shoot a little hook shot and I beat him and I show him and I hear feel him fly by me and I think I have just a like you know an uncontested floater and he recovers and just sends it like all the way back to half court and there's you can see me on film like looking at like who the hell blocked it because I just had no idea this 69 40inch vertical athlete had recovered and blocked it but um that's on the court was the athleticism and the just the the size and the athleticism combined um was the biggest difference but off the court um I think it's just the the amount of people that are watching you practice like at my D2 We had one head coach one assistant one GA and that was the only you know three people that weren't players in the gym at Oregon I remember you know our first or second practice I'm counting managers trainers video people coaches like there's more players or more staff than players and there's just so many different people whose hands are hands are in the in the program and um you're just playing for so much more you can feel you know especially in a city like Eugene the weight of winning and losing you know at a D2 it's not in the paper it's not on TV right so if you lose you're like ah you know we lost coach is mad but he's you know he'll get over it but you know you really feel the pressure from the outside and the amount of eyeballs on you you know at the level that orgon is Advice to players wanting to Walk-On at I feel like now especially at least over these past few years um from you know friends that I've had and just people in general I feel like becoming a walk-on is becoming more of of a regular um in the sense of like wanting to become a walk-on you know rather for for you know whether it's big school mid major whatever um especially at the D1 level and and for you obviously you did both you did the D2 and you you did the walk-on thing uh for you to give you know some advice to the people maybe there's high school kids listening or college kids you know that are playing lower levels that are considering to walk on what should these people know before becoming a walk-on what what's your biggest takeaway yeah I think I obviously everyone's journey is different but I'm so grateful that I went to the D2 especially through the covid year and had that experience because it proved to myself how much I really loved basketball because I think as a walk-on at least my expectations like when I was in high school was you know oh you know you get everything you get to do everything you're you know fully on the team you get to play all of that but you know no matter how good you are as a walk and I I'm at UNLV now and I hear how good of a of a player Nick was he knows some days you you just don't get to play whether you're great even if you you know dominate the starting point guard in a drill or in a you know in a live you know couple drills and you feel like you got the best of them he's still the guy that they're going to get ready for the game so you just have to you know be prepared to play and practice and go hard for you know the scraps um and I think that's something that everyone should know before they get into it because I've heard stories of you know people quitting or you know not being happy with their situation um when they feel like they're not you know getting treated fairly and you know coach alman's one of the best at treating Walk-Ons and um I think I was treated you know more than fair I got to go on every trip and you know got all the gear and everything like that but even as much as coach Alman loved me there were days where you know for a three hour practice I just stood there and clapped and you know 90% of their our games I just sat on the bench and didn't take my warmup off right and so I think as a walk-on you have to go into it with the mindset of I'm going to work as hard as the players and I may not get the may not get the payout that some of the other guys are getting but if you just stay in your lane and you know love the game and love being a part of a team I think it's you know a great situation especially when you know you're not going to you know Go Pro or anything like that yeah I think it's not something that you'd want to do if if you are looking for like praise from from The Outsiders I think like on the inside you know the coaches appreciate you just as much if not more because they know you know you're not getting whether that be nil or or obviously a scholarship but you're you're doing the same thing and you know like you said there was practices where like I'd go a few days without getting shots up like I'd have to like stay after and make sure I got shots up but like I would just stand there and clap you know what I mean and you don't look at it any differently it's it's your job it's what you're supposed to like be there for um but it's it's definitely a grind and like you know you're you're doing the exact same thing you're working your ass off just as hard and you're like [ __ ] man like I know like we're going at San Diego State I'm like all right I'm not going in this game but I'm in the hotel with everybody else getting you know hour hour and half lift in the night before you know whatever the case may be and and like the same thing with you know night night before game stretching you're like oh why am I doing this like I'm not even gonna play tomorrow but yeah it's it's it's definitely like don't get me wrong it's one of the greatest roles because for me like growing up I felt like in high school like Dave and Dan know this like our coach was very like I'm not going to use the wrong adjective I'm going to say you couldn't make a mistake right everyone's played for a coach where like if you make one mistake you're getting subbed out my coach in high school like used to yank me for shooting left-handed floaters right like he like he was like one time he legitimately subbed me out and said you can't shoot left-hand floaters if you do it again I'm subbing you every time you do it so like I had all types of emotions going through my head and then when I went to college you know it was like a grind for me to like get out of my own head because my my my first college coach was like dude just play like there's no there's no pressure we were actually a first year program I don't know if like our viewers know that it was our first year actually like being a Collegiate basketball program um so there was like no pressure you know what I mean we're we're we're at the bottom of the barrel we're at the best in the best conference in junior college with you know CSI where Rob went um Salt Lake has a bunch of D1 guys that have played there and you know there was there was no pressure so it was it was you know kind of I was able to play free and then I get to UNLV and I'm like man I walk in first practice there's like 30 donors sitting there yeah and you're like holy [ __ ] like I've never practiced in front of people in my life and then I go in and I'm like you know I get subbed in they used to like you can ask them about it my like first two months I didn't even think like I shot like if I got the ball I'm passed to someone like let me stand in the corner and and I mean it definitely got better but they just that's another perk of being a walk-on is is you get to play free and you can play whatever role you want to play you know you're if you're if we're playing a you know San Diego State and they have a sharpshooter who sits in the corner and pulls anything with a hand doesn't matter I'm getting him up and there's no punishment for me missing a shot still going to be on the Scout because someone let me get a shot out and if I if I'm a 61 unathletic white guy can get one up and there's a 67 you know sniper with pure athleticism and I'm getting it up then there's a problem so I thought that was like one of my favorite Parts just being able to go into practice and being like dude I can just go I can just go hoop I can't necessarily be me but I can be someone else and have the ultra green so that like it comes with his with its benefits and and with its what you you just described you you said you get to go in practice and do nothing but shoot everything and then you said I can't be me well but that's not me I don't want to like I don't want to shoot everything okay like if I'm in a okay we're in a wck league right now I'm shooting everything I have that's true but like in a game like that like if I get put into a game like that I'm not jacking 30f Footers with a hand in my face like every shot that I shot when I was in the game it was like wide open you know what I mean I'm not like trying to get like down into it that's not me now in a recck league that's you at hard though that's you at hard yes yes of course of course he's a killer in the rec league of course but yeah no I want to transition into sort of teammates throughout your Favorite Teammates of all-time career you obviously have bunch of teammates good and bad but if you had a rank because I know it's hard to do one maybe like a top three and give a reason why who would that be it's a question teamm that is a super hard question yeah I was originally just going to do one but I'm like that's impossible yeah no one is definitely impossible three is much easier I'm gonna do trying to think if I want to do one or two let me do two from each School that'll I think that's fair um the two from my first school are my guys Aaron and will um they were in my freshman class with me um and like I said before that first year waking up at for um getting pushed around we had a really veteran team um you know 22 23 year old grown men and we were the incoming freshman that were you know trying to challenge those guys and um us three were really close we had two other freshman as well but um I definitely shout out those two guys um and then at Oregon Daniel knows this is a tough one yeah who you say yeah I'm gonna shout out my guy Gabe my walk- on backcourt mate um him and I wreak havoc on that on that green group some days um the Splash Brothers if you want to call us that um and then my other teammate at Oregon oh man so many to pick from you know what I'm gonna go full walk- on my guy James Cooper the third walk-on um just Daniel knows the hardest working guy you'll ever meet yeah doesn't complain always early love you he you hate having him on the other team you love having him on your team and physical tough he might have time traveled from like the 1970s by the way he plays but great guy um and yeah that little walk- on Trio Daniel knows that was a that was a good group over there when we were together when when that group took on the the you know if you guys were in white taking on the Green Team there was there was some competition you it was you guys weren't backing down from you know fly James never backs down from Dante or or Nate or whoever khil whoever's he's on he was he was always know still is today um yeah those are two great examples I I thought you were gonna say Brennan years see that's why I can't I should have said Brennan yeah Cen I was surprised you didn't him and you know us three were really close um you know still are but we're really close but the year before Brady you know uh graduated so I was he didn't go Brennan but you can sh I I was it's funny I was only thinking of people who I don't know why I didn't think of brenon I was thinking of that team my first year and I didn't think of Brennan so but no Brennan's up there for sure fellow Colorado guy so I got a shout out my guy Brennan too um on the on the duck kind of of All-Time favorite Oregon memory train here what was your what was your all-time favorite memory it could be on or off the court you know being a duck all-time favorite memory as a duck Daniel what are some give me some like let me think of some uh things that happened while I was there so I don't forget anything you want me to think of on the court or off the court on the court on the court we'll keep it on the cour the the Arizona game your senior year oh at home yeah yeah I got you I got you all right that one's I'm going to put that one in second or third place but beating UCLA and USC my junior year we on the road two top five teams in the country at the time and we some we won both games I'm not going to say somehow because we weren't terrible but they were both top five in the country at the time and we went into both their buildings and my brother um I had an older brother on USC at the time so won the family bragging rights as well um and to go into you know two iconic Arenas ply Pavilion in the Galen Center um that was my first time seeing UCLA and you know the iconic jerseys they have up in the rafters when you know six or nine months before that I was you know at a division two going through what I went through before but um that was definitely the moment of wow this is you know I really you know made it to to what some would say the top um and just got to you know as a dream come true a place like poly Pavilion so that's a memory I'll hold forever my parents were there um so that was that was pretty special um you this year obviously you know had a couple months with with UNLV and uh a Team USA Training Camp part of that experience is is you know our our buddy Isaac who's a manager at UNLV with you also got experien this cuz he was telling Nick and I about it a little bit but you were able to uh work with USA Basketball for the little mini training camp they had it in Vegas those couple weeks um obviously the the stard star power is is nothing to question but were there any players that you either rebounded for got to be around that you were just shocked at their ability or or shocked by anybody's leadership or anybody stand out to you yeah I mean that entire weekend was was unbelievable the I remember the first day they walked in I think I had my back to the side door and I just heard people start you know shuffling around and whispering and you know I turn around and and Beads coming through the door and he is one of the biggest people I've ever seen in my life like he's not he's tall but he's like his knees and his ankles and his feet are just like huge like he just it doesn't even look like a real person and then to see you know LeBron KD the rest of them kind of come in as well was awesome but it's so funny when I think back to that week um being around LeBron um was all the players I could say surprised me and you know they're the greatest players in the world but the one guy who I just was almost speechless about and he didn't even play was Kevin Durant he'd come in he had his hoodie on he was in slides backpack still on and he'd just like walk over to the basket like ask for the ball and he'd just stand there and make like 20 threes in a row like perfect swish he's seven feet like tall release and I would just stand there and I almost I think I told Isaac I was like it literally feels like I'm watching like an alien that was designed to play basketball shoe hoops right now like it was so like effortless so tall so smooth and I wish I got to watch him play obviously two days ago he put on a show um out in Paris and I was you know not surprised by that at all but he was one that just and he didn't like I said didn't even play and then I will shout out the young kid Cooper flag um I was I don't want to say I wasn't being a hater but I was a little skeptical like they let a a young guy in um you know and just didn't know how he how he'd look compared to some of the greatest guys in the world but he looked like he belonged he he made some tough shots and you just kind of had that Swagger about him that that you wouldn't expect in a 17-year-old going against you know the greatest team on the planet so those were two of the guys that I'll I'll look back on and uh really uh was impressed with you know that's awesome that's a dope story to hear and obviously just started at UNLV now already have a lot Transition from a Player to GA of experiences like that as a ga but what's the biggest difference going from player to now sort of on the coaching staff oh the biggest difference I think it's just the the work that you don't appreciate or you don't see as a player like I mean I was great friends with all our managers at Oregon and you know remember being out at dinner and one of them would have to go you know do laundry or rebound for a player and those are all great but even just you know setting up the meals um bringing in groceries for the for the kitchen upstairs um you know one of our managers has to sweep the floor every morning when he gets here just all the little things that managers do that are absolutely necessary like if that kid doesn't sweep the floor and someone slips like it could change our season right and you know he's got to get up early and come do it like he probably doesn't love doing it and I think you just see the behind the scenes that you don't appreciate as a player as much that you know when I see these managers at UNLV working I really appreciate it because you know they don't get we talked about Walk-Ons not getting any any praise managers are you know maybe even a step below they don't get to get a jersey or a locker or you know any real perks other than you know maybe some gear and you know getting to put it on their resume so you know they're you know I appreciate them almost more than you know a walk-on role because they're doing you know the Dirty Work and um you know it's funny I I can't remember what week or day it was but um we were setting up food and you know the players come in and eat within like five minutes and I was like I stood here and helped the manager set up this meal for like 30 to 45 minutes and this player just like comes in and out in like two minutes and like just to see the what goes into making the players experience special I think is is the biggest difference that I noticed so far that's a that's a really good answer I think I think about that too and you know all like the little things that we do like you know us like setting up chipotle and Founders club and you know guys just come in and they you know they don't they don't realize that you know the managers and the gas and all that are the ones making that happen you know sometimes they'll just think that food magically appears when that obviously is not the case exactly I got one more side answer I remember as being a player when I'd ask people to rebound for me and they you know maybe came at some point but they didn't seem too excited and I was like why are they so like anti- rebounding like it's not a big deal like but I I still do it I'll never turn a player down when they ask me to rebound but there are some days where I might rather watch like I might go clean the the kitchen floor than rebound so that is something as well like rebounding I I got to show love to all the managers and G out there that rebound because as a player I used to get so frustrated when people didn't want to rebound but it's a little more work than I imagine when you're doing it all day yeah yeah know Dave Dave obviously knows that that feeling too and you know it's it's not every day you know especially when you do it every day it gets extremely repetitive but I mean at the end of the day it's it's our job and you know we we got to do what we got to do exactly to to get into our our you All Time Team USA Draft storyline of the week or you know we do a little we'll do drafts um you know games that kind of thing and because we are currently in the Olympic stages right now um we figure that it'd be fitting to do a uh United States Olympian basketball draft so okay we all of us are each going to get five picks each um we can you can choose your team to be position lless if you want to you don't have to pick point guards G small for power forward Center you can pick position L but the key with this is that it is not just who the best player is it's not like Michael Jordan LeBron Co like it's not that order it's who are the best Olympians who in the Olympics played the best okay so to to shake it up a little bit it's not just you know you're drafting the player on who's the best it's you're drafting on their impacts made when they were Olympians during their time okay so uh we'll just go in the order that I have on my screen starting with Brady because you're our guest we'll let you go first I'll uh go on my notes here and I'll I'll list all of our teams so at the end you know I can say who all of our teams are and then everyone can can vote for who they think has the best team but we'll start with are we snake draft in this though Dan so what's it gonna go it's gonna go Brady to who we'll go we'll snake draft it so we'll start it with Brady and then we'll go Nick Dave me and then I'll get a second pick and it'll go back to Dave Nick Bray and then I last thing before we start are we doing strictly Americans yes that was a good question could throw a in there you know what I mean Dennis Schroeder would have been my first pick yeah we're all proud of in this in this group so all right so so Brady on the clock on the clock this is an easy pick this is wemy this is Caleb Williams I don't even gotta look the greatest to ever live LeBron James okay I mean you guys know I'm a LeBron guy that's that was who I was going to pick if we're doing this you know what I'm saying like I'm gonna do it how Dan said I'm Gonna Leave a guy for a certain individual and I'm gonna take a different guy I'm gonna take Kevin Durant Kevin Durant does have the most Olympic points of all time so that's that's a great pick there this one's this one's tough you know there there's a right pick but then there's a right pick so I'm Gonna Leave a player on the board that Dan will probably take because second in alltime Olympic points first and gold medals if I'm not mistaken yep I know exactly that's why I from Syracuse University carela Anthony wanted melow okay so we got got Carmelo Anthony for for Dave so I got two now and I think there's obviously one person I have to go with not only is he as Nick said in the last episode the greatest player to ever touch a basketball he's my greatest player to ever touch a basketball but he's also one of the best Olympians of all time I'll take Michael Jordan as my first player and as my first Olympian I should say and as my second Olympian I would really want to go Kobe Bryant but I don't feel like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are going to mesh well uh they're very similar play Styles and I have a pretty long time before my next pick comes back to me so I'm going to take the guy who actually all time is fourth in Olympic points I'm going to get a big guy in the middle and and take the Admiral David Robinson it's a good pick it is a good pick well I'm gonna do a team of all Seas here I don't know how on Earth any country or your teams are going to be able to guard this point guard Chef Curry night night can't go wrong with that either wait he's played in one Olympic game you saw that you saw that three you saw that three only played in one Olympic Sometimes the best are one and done I'm gonna go I'm gonna go Magic Johnson okay dream guard of that dream team I I mean you argument best point guard of all time but he was the arguably the most intricate part in their win in 92 sweet it's back to me yeah oh man it is funny because I'm not a huge I know he's an all-time great player but I'm not personally a huge fan but I remember the first Olympics I ever watched were the 2008 Beijing Olympics with the redeem team and when I close my eyes and think of that that two weeks when I was seven years old no one comes to buy mine more than Kobe Bryant so I will add Kobe Bryant to the team and I will say he was the captain of that team as well so that's that's a good uh good pick there and you you get another pick now Brady before we I get another pick yes oh man you know what I'm gonna get my point guard and if I'm not mistaken he was pretty good in the Olympics he was in I'm going to get Damen Lillard from the 2020 Olympics if I my memory serves me I think he played pretty well in that in that run so I like that pick for me um I think this one's going to be pretty easy for me I'm just gonna shift KD to the four and I'm GNA get myself a Larry Bird right this is tough for me here you know I got two great scores Curry and Melo we need someone we need who can bang down low we also need a dude who doesn't need the ball those two are going to do a lot of our scoring keeping with the thema C's can play the four can play the five the chuckster Charles Barkley oh man that was those were between me and that was who I was between right there that was my pick and I think of Olympic basketball I think of I think of Charles Barkley sixth all time in Olympic points that's a great pick um well now I'll shift I I had a you know I'm gonna take this guy I was planning on taking him anyway uh ninth all time in Olympic points um I'm gonna go with Dwayne Wade get myself primary guard um I'm actually gonna play Dwayne Wade at the one and play MJ at the two so now my last two positions uh I can focus on getting getting some Wing players um and obviously there have been a lot of really really good um Wing players um that have played in the Olympics I'm actually going to go ahead and I'm going to go with with chemistry here and I'm gonna go ahead and pair Michael Jordan with his Robin and take Scotty Pippen so that I can have the chemistry of Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippen back again on the same team so a lot of a lot of old guy older guys for my team I'm take Scotty PPP I like it so now I'm up I want to keep the theme of se's here I'm trying to think of dudes um all we we could use a twom man it's not g to be a popular pick but he was on that top 10 scoring list like you were referring to Dan do a little bit of everything play make shoot score I'm going to keep the theme and I'm going to go Chris Mullen okay I like that I am I'm also GNA pick from that 92 Dream Team correct me if I'm wrong but I think Clyde Drexler was an intricate part of that team as well dream te hell no hell no he the 70s he played but he was he was before yeah right yeah he played like 70s 80s you're thinking I've got the dream team's roster and it does say Clyde Drexler ball knowledge I'm going cly Drexler I thought you said I thought you said Clyde Frasier no Clyde Drexler oh yeah yeah yeah Drexler didn't play in the 70s yeah that's my that's my two man right there Dave's Nick Nicks uh I heard Clyde that's the only Clyde I know I heard Fraser after the Clyde man he's always thinking Nick 247 Dave's always thinking man how could I not and immediately thought it was all right Brady you uh all right so I've got Dame I've got Dame I've got LeBron and I've got Kobe so I need a big I need a big guy to anchor down low and I want someone off that 1992 dream team so I'm going to take the power forward at actually I need a center I'm going to take Patrick Ying while we're on the subject of Nicks as well an alltime great Nick that was my Center man that's that was my Center yeah I where to go from here now I think I have two options left that I can go with I have Dame I have LeBron I have Kobe and I have CL or uh who did I just take Patrick Ying so I need a I need a fourman I'm gonna go with who I almost just took a second ago I'm GNA go with Carl Malone another alltime great Utah Jazz and that'll be my five that I'm rocking with so to round out my squad I've Got Magic Clyde at the two KD at the four Larry at the three to round it out I'm going to go Dwight Howard when he played in the 20 12 Olympics I believe it might have been 08 I think he played in both actually he played he played in the' 08s okay so 08 but Dwight Howard and those years were gross so that's gonna round out my my roster all right well if anyone wants to throw a challenge flag here they can I'm gonna put Barkley at the five Melo at the four Mullen at the three Curry at the one and to keep in theme of the Seas feel like we have to show love even though her son is the worst player to ever put on an NBA jersey at I two I need a sharpshooter I'm going Cheryl Miller okay any any challenge Flags we said Olympians Olympians we said Olympians that's a great pick we did great pick all right so I uh got the final pick here and uh I think to round up my team I need a I need a power forward and uh as much as the fans are probably wanting me to take Diana terasi here she doesn't she unfortunately does not fit my what I need I need a big body down low and that's why I'm going to take Kevin Garnett from the 2000s team with my uh with my last pick these are some this is a good team I have the squads right here does everybody remember their squad or do you want me to be a I got mine I goty you list yours first I got Dame at the one Kobe at the two LeBron at the three Carl Malone at the four and Patrick Ying at the five anytime you hear Kobe and Braun in the same team you're just like whoa whoa yeah all right yeah M's I got magic at the one Clyde at the two Larry at the three KD at the four and then Dwight Howard rounding out the squad all right all right yeah they they do call me coach caner so had to draft the team of all C's I got Chef Curry at the one Cheryl Miller at the two Chris Mullen at the three Carmelo most gold medals at the four and Charles Barkley at the five all sees that's impressive okay all right for uh for my team went defensive theme here we got Dwayne Wade at the one the goat AKA Michael Jordan at the two stotty Pippen is Robin at three Kevin Garnett at the four and uh David Robinson at five a lot of Defense in that lineup yeah well well assuming these games are played in 2024 I know for a fact your team is finishing last because that locker room chemistry is going to be at an alltime low that is true good luck coach good luck coach Good Luck Good Luck scoring at all on my team with Michael Jordan PTY Pippen and Kevin Garnett defending as well as my it's when my worst defender on the court is Dwayne Wade I think I'm I think I'm in a pretty good spot there listen the biggest threat offensive threat to your team is going to come from inside that Locker I don't think we're going to have to worry I think you know two fifths of my team has played with each other for 15 years so so that's that's that's the two fist I'm worried about that's the two fist I'm worried about they hate each other now at the end of the day I think they're gonna set aside their differences look you know they've won six NBA championships aside differ he's gonna look up differences you can't put aside his ex they're going to yeah they're going to look up and be like my ex wife's up there he going to be like oh my daughter-in-law's up there remember we're we're taking the players from that year so I'm taking Michael Jordan you know and and whether 88 or 92 whatever version of Mike it doesn't matter at that point the drama hasn't you know happened yet we're taking the versions of themselves like I'm not taking a 55y old Michael Jordan on my team it's the version of themselves and at that point they didn't know that that drama would ensue so that's not going to be a problem but so then are the people in the stands see this is this we don't got enough time for this but you look up in the stands is it 1990 you know Lara Pippen or whatever is it 1990 Michael Jordan's son when he's one years old who said fans were allowed to watch watch this this could be like a private you know like see see these are the factors we need to work out we need to work on these we could we could play in a ballroom you know have it I got KOB and Braun I don't know any factors that are stopping those two I got magic play making with Dwight Howard in the dunker spot and a s foot sniper with another 69 sniper with Clyde the Glide just back cutting when Magic's dribbling Baseline what are we talking about well listen I know Klay Thompson was a great Olympian but we got the splash siblings and Curry and Cheryl so we're not worried about a lot just outs score we'll see well uh no everyone everyone thinks their team their team is the best but when we uh post this reel you guys will get to vote on who's who's got the best team so you know our biases aren't aren't in it um so the fans can vote for whoever they think the best is um but uh Brady we just have one one Future Goals last question for you we usually ask this to uh to our guests uh where do you think or where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years years from right now five to 10 years from right now oh man you know I I know I want to be in basketball and I love coaching um you know I grew up always I was a coach's son growing up uh even in high school I would coach the freshman team in the summer when I was a junior and a senior went back and Coach junior varsity and assisted to Varsity in the Summers when I was at Oregon so always loved coach um you know being the type of player I am undersized not super athletic I always you know thought the game at a high level um so you know my ultimate dream was to one day be a head coach um don't know if I'll be there in five to 10 years um fingers crossed and you know whatever wherever the journey takes me but you know you can definitely bet that I'll be somewhere in a gym um somewhere with a team because I I lived one year without it and you know I do not want to go back to it um being part of a team is special you know being around college players players that are still you know on the way up is special and you know it's something I don't take for granted and you know in 5 to 10 years I think I'll be doing the same thing so wherever wherever the road takes me is where I'll be in five to 10 years no Brady thank you so much for for coming on before we end this here do you have any questions for the three of us and we let our guests usually ask us anything I have I actually do have a question for Daniel and then all three of you guys from Henderson have you ever eaten at a place called them Wings in Henderson no wings no no oh darn it I was there's a place right by where you live Daniel on St Rose and Eastern good good Wing joint and I was going to see hot mamas are Them Wings it's a debate I'm currently in my own head and I wanted to get some opinion from you so maybe this yep right by I've never been I know what you're talking about though yeah pretty good I'm a lemon pepper guy so they got a pretty good lemon pepper over there I'm surprised you guys haven't haven't tried it out being growing up here so yeah that was it Daniel knows I love talking I love talking food so he knew my question was going to be food related had had a weird weird hunch that was gonna be food related oh nice well uh again Brady thank you thank you so much for hopping on and I'll make sure that I uh check out that Wing Spot and I'll give you a I'll give you an honest review of what I thinkom Wings not that them wings wings Wings them wings or H be question question of the day but that would be a great question great debate but thank you guys for having me like I said I'm a
