of enlightening a time of learning and growing together we're here gathered in this place amen amen prayers have gone forward amen but I just want us to stop before we do anything right now take a moment and think of New Orleans Louisiana our family and friends down that way and all of them that are being impacted and affected by that storm right now cuz I as uh Bishop Brer we did uh text him to let him know that we're praying for them and they've decided to stay in place he said but we know God is a keeper and that he's able to keep so father right now in the name of Jesus God before we do anything we pause to give you thanks God we pause to give you glory and honor father we thank you now God and we take this time God as our hearts and our minds are towards our family and friends and even those that we don't know that's in the eye of that storm even now God those that are in the way of the Winds and the rains and the those things that would try to come the flooding and all of that God but we know you God to be bigger than any storm God We Don't Fear The Storm because we know you are the storm God and you are able God to say peace be still you are able God to turn that thing around and turn it back to the ocean and say wind stop blowing and Breakers stop dashing and all those things to stand still at your command God so God we speak peace now to Louisiana God to Homa Louisiana and all over New Orleans Louisiana and everywhere that's being affected and impacted God that the rains would cease and the winds would stop and the waters would subside God and everything would go back to normal God and what the weather forecasters and all of those folk were saying would happen God won't happened because they didn't put you in the equation God but now God we're calling on you for our family we're calling on you for our loved ones God cover them God protect them God even now God wherever they are God wherever they are sitting and waiting and praying if the lights go out God Be The Light in that place Hallelujah God be everything that they need tonight God the National Guard is coming in God but you are the guard guardian of all things God and we trust you in all things so bless them now God and turn that storm Back to the Sea turn that thing back God we speak it by faith we declare it God by your name we believe it God For Your Glory but God we give you glory in all things and we thank you now we praise you now for what you're doing we praise you now for who you are Sovereign God Savior and King and we bless your name in Jesus name amen amen come on now put those Blessed Hands Together come on and bless the Lord with me he's able to subd do all things amen he's able to do all things and to do it well and so we just bow to his humble his his sovereignty and his might and his power Mighty are the works of his hands amen and we're believing God for the good report thank God for all of you who are watching amen my social media hallelujah God is good amen our scripture reading will be coming from Psalm 91 a very familiar scripture and it reads starting at verse one he who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty I will say oh the Lord he is my refuge my Fortress my God in him I will trust surely he shall deliver You From The Snare of the thow and from the noisome pestilence he shall cover you with his feathers and under his wings ye shall take refuge amen amen we've already had prayer and we know that God is moving by his Spirit even now let us prepare our hearts as we receive the word of God and as we receive our praise and worship we just ask that you join in with us as we receive our praise and worship now in Jesus name amen God bless [Music] may be seated in the presence of the Lord amen we greet you tonight with Divine love and we thank God for all who are here to help us to uplift the name of the Lord amen I was glad when they said unto me let us go into God's house amen here we shall praise God and give him glory and honor amen we do welcome you all of you who are visiting for the first time we welcome you as well and those who have been coming for a long time amen God is good I say God is good y'all got to act like he's really good amen amen all the time every time on time huh praise the Lord amen thank you Jesus whatever has affected you throughout the day this is a good opportunity for you to let it go huh every weight every burden every care everything that you've been carrying amen since you woke up early this morning until you got to the house of God tonight you can let it go amen amen Bible said wherever two or three gather together in his name touching and agreeing amen they can ask for whatever they desire and he will do it God do it right now do it right now Lord set people free and let the love of Jesus abide in their hearts let every weight and every stressful thing be removed in the name of Jesus those of you who watching us through live streaming we also thank God for your presence on tonight and we pray God's blessings in your lives like and share uh let someone know that we are here at 1518 gum Branch Road Jacksonville North Carolina and we are reaching the unreached and disciple the UND discipled throughout the world for Christ amen we are studying in the book of Colossians amen tonight we're going to get in that third chapter and we are going to continue Amen to hear what the Lord has to say unto us as it relates to this letter of the Apostle Paul to the Church of colos and uh it has been a good study so far amen and we're going to continue to uh dig deeper even on tonight amen amen so we want you to get your sword amen and as you do we're going to the book of Colossians on tonight amen and uh I hope and pray that everyone is doing well we certainly are praying for the people in the Gulf on tonight amen in particular amen our spiritual uh leader uh none other than bishop brista and his family and of course all the others in Louisiana and uh as well as in the Gulf area we're praying amen that God will see them through uh this situation that they experiencing with the storm we know that God is able amen and uh we continue to pray for those families who were affected 23 years ago 911 amen praise the Lord amen God is still good amen and uh he has been with us all those years amen all this time through that tragic experience I never forget that day amen praise God and um and so uh we are praying for those families who are having those memories on tonight amen and so uh in the book of Colossians chapter 3 is where we're going to dig here on tonight last week um Paul the Apostle Paul he brought out four very dangerous philosophies amen philosophies of course being the the thoughts of man uh in particular about what life is all about out and he brought out uh the dangers of four very dangerous philosophies that try their way to entrate uh in the church and and this was happening with this church here uh in in uh all these years ago uh here in uh colos which was near lead doia in Asia Minor and it was gnosticism IL legalism mysticism and ISM words amen but uh they have the meaning to them the gnostics of course they diminish amen who Christ was amen we believe that Christ is God In the Flesh amen amen we do not um make any qums about that uh we do not um deny that none whatsoever we don't argue with anyone who don't believe that amen but we believe that he is God In the Flesh amen and uh and so the gnostics they diminish Christ down to an Angel that's what they did they diminish him down to an angel now we know what an angel is a angel has one primary job and that is to bring a message so an angel is a messenger amen as a matter of fact when he talks about the angel of this house or that house he was referring to the pastor who was to bring the message of God so he was refering to them as being an angel but we know that there were angels in heaven of course Lucifer was one of them amen and he fa and when he failed he took a third of them with him amen and they began to be disembodied spirits who would roam amen even in the earth tried to tempt man and uh and so um he talked about that then he talked about legalism mysticism and escepticismo goes no one should condemn another believer for not celebrating certain holy days amen there was a thing going on where they thought you know that if they didn't worship Amen on certain days amen then they weren't holy some people believe that today some people believe of course the Sabbath we can't change what the Sabbath is as it relates to who the Jews are the Jews believe that the seventh day is the Sabbath day the seventh day of course being the day of rest amen and uh so God he created the heavens and the Earth Amen in six days amen and on the seventh day he rest and he hollowed it amen we should have some type of rest from our labor amen wouldn't y'all all agree amen we shouldn't just work all the time but we should have some rest amen and of course we know that when the church came into existence under Jesus Christ uh and what he had did on the cross and then the Believers gathered on the first day of the week the first day of the week of course being the day that Jesus rose from the grave amen and uh and so that's when Christians amen begin to observe Sunday amen but we as Christians know that every day is hollowed amen there is not one day of the week that we can't give God the glory and give him the praise amen there is not one day of the week that we can't live holy unto him and so every day belongs to God we are mature Believers and that's the way we look at it amen so we're not going to go around thinking we better than other people because we we worship the um on the Passover the uh the Feast of Tabernacles amen um and of course now in contemporary Society we you know some people only come to church in E on Easter and and uh Christmas and uh so that doesn't make you holy amen because you come to church on a certain day the church is a a body of Born Again Believers washed in the blood of the Lamb amen this is just a building right but the church are a group of people called the eaia which is the called out on we were called out of Darkness Into His Marvelous Light and so you know the church is in us so we don't have to go into a building in order to be in the church everywhere we go we are the church amen and so we're not hung up on those old rules they were only Shadows of what was to come amen remember that they were shadows and they were types everything in the Old Testament was a shadow and a type amen and God proved to them that they could not keep those things amen even though he demanded of them at that time to do those things amen Jesus came and fulfilled those things amen which mean that he died at every eye he crossed every tea he did not fail no fell he got drunk David failed he committed adultery amen and he and and murder amen every other person who God had ever sent throughout the Old Testament they fail but Jesus who is God himself in the flesh he came and fulfilled the law in other words the requirement was met by God himself and when he was nailed to the cross we studied it last week amen all of our sins was nail right there with him Glory Hallelujah he paid a price that we could not pay hallelujah amen so we don't try that's right to do things in order to be saved amen we walk by faith amen and not by sight Hallelujah my faith is in what he did not in what I do amen he did it all hallelujah amen that's enough right there to shout on Amen I know this is Bible study but if you feel like you want to holler holler I not going to stop you from hollering amen Glory Hallelujah and so um and so then he gets into this mysticism which teaches that God can be known through um basically through angels and seeing visions you got a lot of Mystics today amen new age people who are dibbling and dabbling into a whole lot of mysticism amen uh dabbing into uh things like transcend Al meditation the astral projection uh all of the different types of philosophies and religions and everything amen trying to get to God understand something you don't try to get to God God reveals himself to you all right amen we come to know God through Revelation amen that's how it's done it's not done because you get knowledge knowledge only Puffs you up and understand the more you know the less you know amen because once you start learning Le things you come to find out how much you don't know huh y'all know what I'm talking about I believe somebody do amen and and so and so you know this mysticism was another thing that these Believers were getting involved into and that's what happens when you take your eye off of Jesus the Bible say he is the author and the finisher of our faith we can't be trying you know to check out this and check out that you better know that you know right I don't know about you but I know that I know that I have a relationship with God and I don't care how persuasive your words are or how intelligent you may be able to articulate what you know I know what I know huh and I know that I've been born again Hallelujah huh I know that I've been changed you got to know that huh praise the Lord amen you got to know that amen because we're living in a world where there's so many voices out there and because of social media and all other types of forms of media amen there are people have platforms who never had platforms amen at one time in the neighborhood the only one that had a platform was the preacher huh but everybody got a platform you got one everybody in the world has a platform because they can get on Facebook and open up a page and they can begin to start talking amen and somebody going to believe them right right huh yes so so you know we we got to understand that you better be grounded and rooted in the apostles Doctrine amen so then he goes on and talks about um the last thing that people were doing during that time where they were getting involved in aestheticism which is teaches that one can purify the Spirit by punishing the body in other words trying to live as a monk basically not touch this not not taste this not do this not do that and Paul uh he he went into it and he he explained to them um to not be deceived by these people who were trying to do these things to them let's look at verse 16 and chapter 2 then we'll move in chapter three he says so let no one judge you in food huh in drink or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbath which are a shadow of things to come but the substance is of Christ and let no one cheat you of your reward look at your neighbor say I ain't going to let nobody cheat me taking Delight in false humility and worship of angels intruding to those things which he has not seen vainly puffed up in his fleshly mind and not holding fast to the Head from whom all all the body nourish and knit together by the joints and laments grows uh with the increase that is from God now understand that the Bible says that Jesus is um he himself is the fullness of the godhead bodily huh what verse was that amen it's up it's it's in this same chapter I believe amen we studied it but in other words he is the fullness of the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost there it is in what verse 9 chapter 2 amen verse 9 it says here um for in him dwells all the fullness of the godhead bodily now let me ask you something is there any portion of God in you all right now come on talk to me amen it is why because when you were born again you was baptized into the body and the spirit of God Amen now dwells inside of you so you have God in you but in Jesus that's right dwell what the fullness in other words all of God was in him that's right all of God hallelujah so here he is he goes on and says in verse go back down to um verse 20 say therefore if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world the basic principles of the world of course were the world the the world's principles of living we are Kingdom citizens right amen so to live in the Kingdom means to do what things God's way but before we were saved we were doing things the way of the world right so that was a basic principle it was easier it was literally easier for us to lie than to tell the truth it was easier for us to commit fornication than to live holy y'all ain't saying nothing but now that you have been born again it is easier for you to do the right thing than it is for you to do the wrong thing and whenever you do the wrong thing amen you are you come under conviction amen so ites makes it even more difficult cuz you're feeling a little bad inside right and you go to God and ask him to forgive you and the Bible says that he is what just and faithful to forgive you and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness Hallelujah so that means I ain't got to stay stuck amen that's right I don't know who I'm talking to tonight but you know amen look at your neighbor say don't stay stuck I don't know what you might have ended up doing that made you feel guilty but understand something God does not he said I didn't come into the world to condemn the world right Satan is the one that condemns us the holy spirit is the one that convicts us amen he convicts us before we become condemned you can't condemn anybody without first convicting them y'all ain't been in the courtroom before you can't condemn nobody until they come under conviction right you got to make sure that they are convicted now we are are convicted but we are acquitted yes Hallelujah we have been forgiven amen so we did not receive the punishment that we should have received we should have went to jail but we didn't have to go to jail cuz he went to jail for us that's right that's right Hallelujah ain't God all right tonight amen he is all right with me and so and so he says why is though living in the world do you subject yourselves to to regulations so he's saying don't subject yourselves to things that God has already fulfilled he's already taken care of all of that that needed to be done amen and he goes on and he says do not touch do not taste do not handle which all concern things which perish with the using according to the Commandments and the doctrines of men these things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion Lord have mercy huh self-imposed religion is what self-righteousness that's all it is it's saying that I'm right because of what I'm doing and then he goes on he said and it has an appearance of wisdom so you got people who walk around sacrimonious and think that they're higher and better than other people because of what they're doing with their head up in the in the sky he said false humility neglecting the body so these guys uh they were they were practicing they weren't eating certain foods they weren't doing certain things they were some of them were living up in caves and you know trying to live a life of of abstaining even from sexual relations and all kinds of things amen and so they thought that that was going to make them holy amen but but it doesn't make you holy what makes you holy is what's on the inside of you not what's on the outside of you Jesus says not what goes into a man's mouth that condemns him but is what comes out of his heart he said all food is to be received if giving thanks and so if we pray over it and sanctify it through our prayer and thank God for it if even if it's pork it can be eaten I wouldn't advise you just eat pork all the time huh because we know that it it can cause you have high blood pressure I wouldn't advise you to eat shrimp all the time cuz it can cause you to have high cholesterol can I get a witness and so there were foods that were in the Old Testament that God was telling his people not to indulge into amen because they they had they were not as healthy as other foods but they he never intended it to be to get you into heaven that's right amen it was never intended for that purpose purpose to make you righteous or to make you holy it was to keep you healthy yeah amen amen and and so and so you know this is what he was dealing with and so we deal with the same thing today right we deal with the same thing today there's so many different religions and Cults out there who believe that we have to observe certain rules and regulations in order to be right with God thank you Lord all right and so um and so here we go we get ready to get into chapter um into this this new chapter here and um what Paul is going to do tonight is to talk to us about real holy living real holy living okay so I'm going to um I'm going to get someone to read a few verses I'm not going to do all the talking tonight amen time really flies and so um we begin here tonight with Paul he writes about the principles of holy living and he addresses six types of individuals in regard to this matter if I could get someone to read the first four verses if then you were raised with Christ seek those things which are above where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God set your mind on things above not on things on the earth for you died and your life is hidden with Christ and God when Christ who is our life appears then you also will appear with him in glory amen so in verse 20 of chapter 2 he said we died with Christ right okay now he says in verse number one of chapter 3 if then you were raised with Christ so that the Assumption there is that we were also raised with him now the question that I have when were we raised with him huh when he was resurrected amen we re the opportunity to have what the new birth so we were raised with him when he was raised because the moment that we accept that then we are we are we we have been risen the old man has died and the new man has come alive amen and so we are raised with him amen raised together and then he talks about those things things above Paul uh he he says in other words um turn well I know we don't had time but uh in Matthew 6:33 I think most of you all probably can quote that one right amen he said but what seek ye what first the kingdom of God and his what righteousness and all these things yes sir shall be added unto you amen so God is concerned about things being added unto us he doesn't want us to be broke busted and disgusted and always complaining we cannot Minister o to other people and be a good witness and a testimony to others if we are always in need and always in want amen so he says I want to add to your life I come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly but he said there is a one stipulation in order for you to receive that because if you seek those things first you may get those things but you may miss out on the kingdom and so there are a lot of people who have sought those things first and they do not have relationship with God and they're not growing spiritually but he said I want you to make sure that you first of all seek ye first the kingdom of God that would include first of all asking him to come into your life amen amen after you ask him to come into your life you ask him to fill you with the Holy Spirit after being filled with the Holy Spirit then you ask for him to continue daily to what sanctify you amen and eventually the Bible said that we will receive the same kind of body that he received when he was risen from the grave which was a glorified body so as we go through this process daily of San ification being set apart and set aside that's all Holiness really is Holiness is not what you put on is not what you do but Holiness is being um set apart and set aside for God's service and use it's like a vessel amen a holy vessel is a vessel that has been clean and one that has been set apart and set aside that can be used you don't want to drink water out of a what dirty vessel amen you want to make sure that it's clean and so that's what God is doing with us on a regular basis he's cleaning up our spirit man he's cleaning up our minds and he's cleaning up our fleshly thoughts he's taking those away Hallelujah so each and every day that's why Paul say I that is the natural man he said I die daar amen but I'm a risen in Christ and and and so this is this is powerful he's telling them this amen he wants them to get it he wants them to understand it and so this is what we must do today the Bible said that he was seated at the right hand of God a position which is of favor and Authority Amen to be at the right hand of God in Psalms 110 And1 he said the Lord said unto my Lord sit thou at my right hand until I make thy enemies thy foot stool so right now Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the father Glory Hallelujah God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth but Jesus amen God in the flesh is sitting in his glorified body amen at the right hand of God the Father amen waiting until the father makes all of his enemies his foot stool death poverty sin hatred anything that's not of God is going to subdue itself unto God the Bible said that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord may not be happening right now but it's going to happen one day amen just keep hanging on in there look at your neighbor say Keep Holding On holding on it's going to happen after a while amen the world may not believe it people may not believe it but we going to see Jesus and we going to have to give an account to him and I'm so glad that he's already paid all my debts huh huh he's already paid them all amen so he set at the right hand of God which he wro in Christ when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in in Heavenly places amen there's another scripture that says that we are seated with him in Heavenly places now how is that how can we be seated with Christ in Heavenly places because we are part of his what his body so wherever he is we are praise the Lord amen he is the head of the body I'm talking about the church don't get don't get you know don't lose it don't lose it amen we are part of the body which is the church he is the head of the church and so we are seated with him in Heavenly places meaning that we are no longer seated just in this world but we're seated with him in heaven because we have now become Kingdom citizens this is not our home we are just pilgrims passing through amen but our home is in glory seated with him amen and all of us are going to get a reward Glory hallelujah amen amen he going he going to say one day you're going to say to us well done Jesus th good and faithful servant you've been faithful unto a few things see I ain't trying to do a whole lot no more I made up in my mind I ain't trying to do a whole lot no more all I want to do is do a few things and I want to do them well you know when you first get saved and you get excited about God and you're running hard man God you want to be in everything do everything amen praise God Amen the first 10 years of this ministry I was all over the world Everywhere You Name It We were there you know what I'm saying amen but after a while you come to realize it's not about it's not about the uh quantity that's right but it's about the quality you wanton him to say Well done you did this well amen Now understand something I'm not going to be saved by what I did but I am going to be rewarded that's right huh he going to pass out crowns Glory Hallelujah crown of righteousness God Crown of Life Crown of Glory he going to pass out crowns amen and we're going to be seated with them round Thrones Glory Hallelujah I'm getting chills I'm getting goosebumps you know talking about it but we are going to be seated with Jesus and receive Crowns if we be faithful unto a few things so that's why you know it's so good to have a relationship with God and say God what is it you want me to do and where is you want me to go today amen I ain't got to try to do everything I ain't got to try to save the whole world Amen but but but put somebody in my way today yeah that I can share yes sir the love of jesusall the goodness of Jesus and all he done for me cuz that's what testifying is about it's about telling your story to someone else amen you can't save nobody that's all you can do is share with them what God has done with you right amen and through that amen then the Holy Spirit can work on their hearts but a person that don't want to be saved ain't trying to be saved amen you can't say them all you going to do is get get an argument with them amen they going to be stuck in their way set in their way so you got to let God go before you is what we call practicing the presence of God when you practice the presence of God you know where God is going he says he says I'm always at work amen we ain't got to try to do no work he said but join me y'all remember that book we studied years ago amen Experiencing God Amen God is always at work and God desires that we join him so we got to see where God is working then we follow that path amen but what we try to do is we try to go and preach to everybody up in their face and they ain't even ready for it huh God ain't even dealt with their heart yet they not the ground hasn't been been been B till huh you can't put a seed in the ground that's hard you can't put a seed in the ground that's got Thorns all around you can't put a seed in the ground where the bird can come by and just pick it up and fly away with it you got to wait till that ground has been tilled and it's watered and it's fertile you know and now you know seed can get in there once that seed get in there then God he said I he said one Seth one water but I give the increase Lord have mercy amen every seed that you've ever sown you didn't bring it about God gave the increase don't you give yourself no credit amen every person that ever join your church you just did P you either you sold the seed or you wed the seed but God gave the increase you can't brag on nothing you w done since you've been born again cuz God was the one that gave the increase Hallelujah don't get me preaching up in here hallelujah Lord thank you Jesus amen and and and so uh and so we got to understand that he's seated at the right hand of God in a position of favor in a position of Honor with strength amen people have been talking about that lately about strength who got strength I'm telling you who got strength Jesus got strength huh amen uh he talks about things on the earth amen and um in verse two and he and he talks about he said you have died refers to Believers sharing in Christ's death through baptism so that's what baptism is really is a symbolic gesture of the old man huh when you are baptized in water it is a an identification that we make with God through Christ of the old person what dying so that's why we believe in what submersion because if you don't become submerged you haven't gone all the way under amen when you bury a person you bury them under you throw dirt over them amen so when we go up when we up and we go under amen and come back up we are raised with him in the new life amen amen but we don't want to go down a dry devil and come back up or what wet devil amen because that can happen can it if you haven't been born again in the heart amen so before you go through a baptism water baptism make sure you've been baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ Hallelujah somebody say hallelujah again hallelujah amen so let's uh get another reader uh I believe we we going to uh verse number five therefore put to death your members which are on the earth fornication uncleanness passion evil desire and covetousness which is idolatry because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience in which you yourself once walked when lived in them but now you yourselves are to put off all these anger wrath malice blasphemy filthy language out of your mouth do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with his deeds and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of him who created him where there is neither Greek nor Jew circumcised nor uncircumcised Barbarian SK slave nor free but Christ is all and in all amen amen so we know that God has done the work right so the work has been done on the inside of us but often times we do not reflect on the outside of us what's been done on the inside of us huh and the reason is is because we got on the wrong clothes amen we went into the wrong part of the Wardrobe went back and got them old clothes that we used to wear huh and we put them on because there is a change that has taken place in our hearts there is something that has happened in our spirit man that's why the Bible said there is a part of us that cannot lie that cannot steal that cannot sin the spiritual man in you cannot sin so what is it that sins you had to go to Romans 7 and listen to all that Paul teaches about concerning that but we ain't got time to do that tonight but it's the old nature it rises up amen and and so that's how we end up putting up putting on those old clothes Again by letting that old man dominate you got to make sure that that old man does not Dominate and the way and the reason that he dominates is because we feed him that's right so as a man thinketh in his heart which is his mind when talking about this one the cardia but it was talking about the soul the mind which which well the soul which includes the will the emotions and the intellect amen you are a spirit you have a soul which distinguishes you from everybody your mind your will your intellect and you live in a physical body amen but the essence of who you are that always was and always will be is your spirit man cuz you was here before you was here you was here you was in eternity past how do I know that cuz he told Jeremiah he said before you entered that's right I knew into your mother's womb I knew you so God knew us before we were even born yes sir he is Alpha and Omega y'all know that right so you had an existence that is eternal that is the spirit part of you is eternal is always been always will be cuz you are God part of God that is because that's what happened when Adam was created right the Bible says that God formed him from the dust of the ground out of the clay yes and then he what sir breathe in him Ruma Numa which is the Breath of God and he became a living what soul so the spirit the Bible says is appointed unto man wants to die and the spirit what goes back to God who what gave it and the body goes to the ground so so God gave you your spirit Glory Hallelujah amen and when he gets ready to call you he going to call you by your name and he going to say come on up here huh sir Glory hallelujah amen and and so you know he says put to death your members talking about the carnal nature the old man which are on the earth fornication uncleanness now uncleanness got to me because it's so broad what in the world are you talking about uncleanness I guess it just covers all kinds of pora and all kinds of you know just dirty LW thoughts right uncleanness and then he says here um passion so we can't let our passion get out of control passion meaning our desires we should keep our desires in check and then he says here uh he says evil desire and covetousness which is idolatry to covet something or some something that someone else has is to desire what they have right so he's telling us what don't do that and he says that is a form of what idolatry idolatry is like worshiping other gods so when we covet anything that someone else has has then we don't realize it but we're making it a God and we're giving it our affection so we don't need to desire anything that anyone else has I mean I'm glad for all the people who got more than I have amen but I just hope all they have don't have them amen yes you know what I'm saying and um he says because these things the wrath of God the word wrath here meaning what anger the wrath of God is is is coming upon the sons of Disobedience I think a lot about hofn and fineas Eli's Sons kind of messes me up you know what they were doing they were they were they were bribing people when they came to the house of God taking their money having sexual relations with the women and they were supposed to be representing God and their father but the Bible said that he wouldn't discipline them so part of the problem was him now you cannot stop disciplining a child because they are disobedient you cannot do that the Bible say he that chasteneth his son he loves him don't exacerbate them but but don't stop chastening them because once you stop chastening once you stop telling them you need to go to church when you stop telling them they need to go to church you know what they going to do they ain't going to go to church they really aren't going to go to church then but as long as you keep God before them they got a chance huh as long as you keep some rules they got a chance right but when you get to the place where you get so fed up and you get so sick and tired of what they are doing being disobedient a lot of times we turn them over and that's what the devil want us to do you cannot be afraid to not be light parenting is not about being light that's a worldly system that you know what we talked about a while ago the world principles that's a world principle that's what the world is doing now so much that children are just out of hand talking back little old things cursing yeah oh you know and and it's all because we are operating in a world system the Bible says spare a rod spoil the child beat him that a CO Pastor say beat him amen you beat him and you won't kill them they'll be all right back in the day boy I tell you what we had to go get our own switch that old weeping willow tree over there go over there and get a switch and I want you to strip all the leaves off and bring it to me cuz I'm get ready to wear you out I mean they going to tell you what they going to do and make you go get your own whip I mean I'm here so they didn't kill me be in the house at this time huh well everybody else is out having a good time no I ain't dealing with everybody else I'm telling you what you need to do I'm so glad when I look back and see all the young men that I was wanted to be around hang around with be there that's dead now and thank God that I had some rules couldn't do everything I wanted to do couldn't be I wanted to be you know so you know disobedience is already bound up the Bible says in a heart of a child right but the rod of Correction would drive far from them I'm in Proverbs now [Applause] Lord have mercy so you know because the Bible said that the the wrath of God is coming on the sons of Disobedience the sons of Disobedience were also called the Sons of b b also means those who come up in groups or or what we call today gangs so gangs people who get involved in gangs they get involved in gangs because they have rebelled against home and against authorities and against establishment and they want to do their own thing so they get into gangs they start robbing they start killing they start coming up with packs if you do this you go up and slap this person you go up and steal this car you go up and do that then you get certain Merit points you you go up the ranks by doing more Disobedience then they get become territorial well we on the east side of town we are the blues we on the right side of town we are the Reds it sound like political parties on I'm just messing huh govern G government gangs that'll preach might I might want to wait until after the election to preach it but but that will preach because nobody is saying nothing right everybody talking loud well you know saying what we want to hear it depends on what you what party you favor you know but I'm telling ain't nobody saying enough about him amen that's where I'm focused at I don't know who going to get in there whoever gets in there I'm going to be all right look at your neighbor say I'm going to be all right I'm going be all right cuz I know in whom I put my trust and the Bible say David say I what been young y'all may not think it yeah I'm old now I'm old but I never seen the what righteous forsake nor his seed Bing bread Hallelujah I ain't been begging been fleshing been hot I ain't been begging I don't care who gets in there starts another economic system or whatever we going to be all right amen cuz he promised to never leave us nor to forsake us he said kingdoms rise and through chapter 3 um but look at somebody again and say put those things off now what is it what is it he saying that you need to put off verse verse 8 he said but now you yourselves are to put off all these anger anger the Bible says be angry but what sin not so we are not angry to develop hatred we have what is called righteous indignation in other words we become you know indignant about people doing wrong things and so we hate wrong things but we don't hate the person right huh we ain't supposed around being hating nobody amen even if we don't believe in what they're doing and no matter what party you're part of both of them got stuff in it that I don't agree with huh but we can't hate nobody and so we're not supposed to have that anger that leads to hatred wrath amen wrath is when you start spewing it out really bad to the extent that you will maybe possibly even put that anger into action and you will begin to walk around doing something stupid now I don't even want to get into all that but y'all got an idea what I'm talking about amen because even after the I knew it was going to happen right after that debate last night you got some people starting to look at you again sideways ain't you right that's right because we're walking in the flesh rather than in the spirit you cannot allow see I'm an optimist at large I'm an optimist and so I believe that whatever you say you put it into the atmosphere and the bigger your platform yes sir the higher your platform the more influence you have right and so you have to give you're going to have to give an account the Bible says for everything that come out of your mouth and so we have to be careful that we do not spew anger and hatred yes amen I don't care who you are cuz you're putting it in the atmosphere and those people who are subject under you you put it in their Spirits that's right amen that's right you put it in their Spirits that's why I won't talk about whether I'm a democrat or republican or you vote for KLA Harris or vote for Trump I'm not getting into that why because automatically you split your church right down the middle just like the Country Split right because regardless you're going to have people who going to believe one person over the other and sometimes because of our flesh we want to hear lies huh we want to hear Lies We want to hear something that appeases our flesh and if we are already in the mind of doing something stupid now all we need what there a little booster the Bible says that the tongue is what it's it's uh it sets the what the whole set the whole world on fire read James boy he talks about that to say a little thing that Kindles a little fire that starts a great big fire put it off can I finish this he says put off the blast that malice the blasphemy filthy language out of your mouth do not lie to one another uhoh huh tell the truth stop lying the only reason we lie is because we fear that's the only reason we lie and the thing about when we tell one lie we have to tell what another lie to cover that lie and another lie to cover that lie we we lie because we fear the consequence of telling the truth if we ever get to the place where we stop fearing the consequence of telling the truth cuz if I hadn't told the truth years and years ago I wouldn't be here but I told the truth when I stood before a board and because I told the truth when I stood before that board my whole life changed where I would have been located would not have been here or in this geographical area and I don't want to get into that but I'm just using that as example and I said God I will trust you but I will not lie and God says I'll take care of you I believe I got a few Witnesses in here that know you ain't got to lie on the test right huh what you need to do is learn the right answer huh get to the point in your life that you love truth to the extent that you will not lie because if you tell the truth if you live the truth eventually it will take you to the top but as long as you keep lying and covering you're doing the same thing that Adam and Eve did out there in the in the wilderness amen try to fig Leaf themselves but the only thing you need is to be covered so what did God had to do had to go and get some skins in order to get some skins something had to die huh they putting leaves on themselves you can't fig Leaf your lies the wind going to blow them right on off and you going to be exposed huh but but God did what he killed an an animal sacrifice and and and skinned it and what put the the clothe them and that was a type and a shadow of what Jesus did he was sacrific and he cover what our sins thank you Jesus Hallelujah I got to stop y'all come on let's give God some praise I'm going start right there amen thank you Father we give you glory tonight Lord for this privilege an opportunity to stand and to repeat your word God it is our prayer tonight Lord that someone who may even be watching us oh God through live streaming wherever they may be in the world God we ask that you would touch them right now we ask oh heavenly father that you would make yourself real to them let them come to know who you are and then Lord forgive them of their sins and their trespasses and then Lord come into their lives and make them a brand new person help us tonight Lord to put off all those things that are not like you and then to put on those things that are correct and that are like you to be who we are on the inside let it help us to reflect who we are on the inside on the outside for on the inside you have made us holy on the inside you have made us pure and so help us Lord God to reflect what you have done in our lives and so we thank you for that tonight and God help us to go through the rest of this week until we get back again on the next Bible study and dig in some more and bless us oh God as we go into this weekend bless bless those who are down in in the in the area God in the Gulf God
