the heart of America where a shocking story has emerged sending ripples of concern throughout the community reports have surfaced of Haitian immigrants resorting to an unexpected food source pets eat up guys none of this animal goes to waste from Springfield I was out and about yesterday driving around Springfield I was looking at the giant holes in some of our buildings I noticed all of the old familiar spots bearing new signs in an unfamiliar language I watched as groups of strangers walked around the city like lost tourists and it was like a punch in the gut a terrible sadness came over me and I began to cry is this a tragic consequence of desperation a cultural misunderstanding or something more complex I'm done with what I'm seeing it is so unsafe in my neighborhood anymore I have the homeless that were trying to camp out and I have I have made concessions with them and I try to help them the best I can to keep them from from trying to squat on my property but it is so unsafe I have men that cannot speak English in my front yard screaming at me throwing mattresses in my front yard throwing trash in my front yard in 2021 large numbers of Haitian migrants arrived at the US Mexico border particularly in Del Rio Texas tonight the camp that was once packed with 15,000 migrants gone overwhelmed by the influx the US government faced a critical decision on how to handle these migrants while some were deported back to Haiti others were allowed to enter the US to pursue Asylum claims or other forms of legal status there are no longer any migrants in the camp the homeland security secretary now detailing where the migrants have gone the majority from the camp over 12,000 released into the US and asked to go to immigration centers to make Asylum claims 2,000 were deported to Haiti and 8,000 migrants returned voluntarily to Mexico Haiti is in the grip of a severe crisis spiraling deeper into chaos as gang violence spreads across the country Haiti is on a brink of becoming a failed State a Gangland Rebellion is ripping through the Republic an escalating conflict between armed groups has turned the streets of Porto Prince into battle zones causing Mass displacement and a dire humanitarian situation hospitals are shutting down Paralyzed by the inability of healthcare workers to reach their posts with the government in disarray and public services collapsing Haiti faces the prospect of total societal breakdown over the past several years around 150,000 to 200,000 Haitians have left the country since the beginning of 2021 alone largely due to escalating violence political instability and natural disasters the US remains one of the primary destinations for Haitian migrants Springfield Ohio's mayor Warren copelan recently spoke to Fox news about the growing strain on local services and concerns about crime following the arrival of a significant number of Haitian immigrants in the and Brian heck is the city manager and they both join me now uh good morning to you both mayor Rue tell us what's going on in Springfield well what we've seen is just such a quick increase of our population over the last 5 years you know like you said up to 15 to 20,000 immigrants have come across uh and into our community uh this has overwhelmed our safety services and caus great concern for our community uh this is ending horribly in other situations 11-year-old Aiden Clark was killed on his way to school in Springfield Ohio the killer was an Asian illegal immigrant uh that was well I mean how else the was must have been flown here by the bid Administration Brian you're the city manager tell us more and how it how this influx is impacting the city yeah certainly uh thank you for having us on this morning you know when we see a 25% increase over a three-year period we're a community we do not have the capacity to to sustain that and it's taxing our infrastructure it's taxing Public Safety it's taxing our schools it's taxing health care and as JD Vance uh spoke on it's taxing our housing chairman Brown I'd like to ask unanimous consent to submit a letter for the record from the City of Springfield Springfield's Haitian population has increased 15 to 20,000 over the last four years in a community of under 60,000 previous residents putting a significant strain on our resources and ability to provide ample housing for all of our residents Benny Johnson a conservative commentator recently delved deeper into the controversy surrounding Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio allegedly eating Pets the biggest story in the world right now is that residents of Springfield Ohio are reporting that their pets are missing and the Haitians are actually eating family pets on one side local officials have dismissed the rumors as baseless while many residents of Springfield have taken to social media to express their concerns and share stories about missing pets and unusual incidents in their neighborhoods a bunch of people on daughter and friends lost her cat she checked Pages kennels and asked around one day she came home from work and as soon as she stepped out of her car she looked towards the neighbor's house where the Haitians live and saw her cat hanging from a branch like they do with the deer butchering they were carving it up to eat you can see photos here of a man carrying a goose the goose is cooked here like can't I look at me I weigh 95 lbs I couldn't defend myself if I had to my husband is elderly and last night after living in this home for 45 years he said Noel guess what it's time to pack up and move I'm angry that foreigners are using up the resources that were set up for the Americans that reside here I'm angry that another country's flag was being flown in our city I'm angry when I see our businesses and recreational areas littered with garbage left by people that do not know or understand our laws and culture and are making no attempt to learn about them and let me be clear this is not about race this is about people being given the privilege of coming here from another country and having no respect for our people our land or our life's work numbers of car accidents and hostile confrontations with locals is insane my aunt walked into a woman's restaurant at a grocery store last month I was screamed at by true grown naked men taking a sink shower friend of a friend got his car hit by uh one no license and insurance Donald Trump Jr posted a tweet saying Harris imported nearly 4.5% of the total population of Haiti with zero vetting into our country and these are the results that is why also starting with our Administration we gave TPS temporary protected status to Haitian migrants 55,000 and then more recently we extended temporary protected status to over a 100,000 patient migrants for that very reason that they need support they need protection people are making memes of course Donald Trump saving the kitties and cats Which Way cat lady don't call me a cat lady don't eat my cat the internet has erupted with a wave of viral memes depicting former president Donald Trump as a hero swooping in to save pets in Springfield Ohio these memes blending humor with political commentary have taken social media by storm these are not civilized people opening containers in our grocery stores helping themselves to what's inside and throwing the rest onto the shelves and Floors pulling off of the highway to publicly clean and gut the roadkill lying there in front of anyone that passes by stealing animals from Farmers as we conclude our look into the
