what's going on everyone Chris from pick dogs.com here with your free pick in the Houston Astros versus Arizona Diamondbacks Major League Baseball matchup going down Friday September 6 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between the Houston Astros and the Arizona Diamondbacks the Houston Astros sending out framber Valdez for the start in this one while the Arizona Diamondbacks will counter with Brandon fought and this is going to be a really really good series probably the best series the entire weekend if we're being honest two teams that have been storming down the stretch that are both looking to make big dents in the playoffs and heck this could even be a potential World Series preview a lot of folks are high on Arizona a lot of folks are high on Houston and framber Valdez has been just on a roll I mean you look at how he has been pitching for the Houston Astros you know back-to-back home starts where he's had seven shutout Innings last time out it was seven no hit Innings where he gave up three walks against the Kansas City Royals and almost had to combine no hitter going for his team and it just it fell apart late but this is a you know Houston Astros team that has been rolling in framber valdez's starts I mean going back to June 23rd you know the Houston Astros as a team 11- one in valdez's 12 starts Valdez a 2.3 35 ER so as much as I like what Arizona has done against left-handed pitching we just saw them struggle to break through really against Blake Snell in Thursday's matchup they ended up losing that game two to one and now you know they go up against another quality Lefty here in Valdez so I think Arizona's offense could be in a little bit of trouble here on the other side we just saw Houston going to hitter friendly you know Great American Ballpark and you know get swept like they got their butts kicked and they they didn't break through offensively in uh in in Thursday's series finale I mean this is a Houston team that had their chances to to do some damage and lost that game one to nothing and now they take on a pitcher in Brandon fought who has had some blips on the road and in his last seven starts he does have a 6.08 ER but despite that you know the Arizona Diamondbacks have backed him up and been able to give him some support I will say though that I think fought has to be better to be able to give his team a chance to win but I do think fod is going to be up to the task here as a team the Arizona Diamondbacks have been up to the task of backing up their pitching to me this just sets up I think is a close matchup and a low scoring matchup at that I think this is going to be a very tight playoff type atmosphere eight seems like a low total given the you know how well the uh the dime backs offense has been going and the issues that fought has had at times but I think the under is strong play here I'm going to go with the under eight between the Diamondbacks and the Astros and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribed to our Channel Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those at pick dogs premium while your pick dogs check out our betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
