would you like some good news everybody would you like something to smile about maybe a morsel of something positive in Florida State football land well we got it for you right here because there's breaking news in here I'm standing next to uh virtually actually I'm sitting in my office but I'm next to Michael Langston senior recruiting analyst here for warchant.com as as you can see at the bottom of the screen fourstar 2026 linebacker Isaiah Williams has committed to Florida State over Florida and Miami Michael's going to break it down generally for us and then also our recruiting staff writer Matt ler will be along in a second because he got to speak to Florida State's newest commit uh on the phone in that conversation WRA just a moment ago so Michael let's set the stage here this is a 2026 Prospect but if I'm not mistaken uh this particular Prospect out of leeburg Florida I'm looking at that RPM on the right hand side and it says Florida Gator 99 plus percent and yet at the top leftand part of the screen I'm seeing committed to Florida State so those two things diametrically opposed what happened here and why is Williams now uh in the fold for the 2026 class yeah so when he he decommitted or or when people thought that he was going to decommit um I think at Syracuse I I it could be but um a lot of people thought that it was going to be Florida they had some good momentum going um then FSU started to really communicate picked up things um he really liked just what they do with their linebackers that really stood out a lot to him he still I mean I I know we haven't seen it yet on the field but think he really likes what what the way the usage of the linebackers the way the versatility they have and and just what Adam Fuller does I think really excites him I think Matt will have more on what what he has to say but I I think overall incredible pickup for FSU um to get a guy that I both uh can cover guys uh but certainly can rush the passer I don't think FSU has a lot of linebackers that do that um when you when you watch them play so um certainly a lot of link a lot of um you know way he closes on space is is really good and and I love the way he tackles I think he he adds a lot to the table as far as that linebacker position and that's a position that certainly they need help um need help in a lot of places but but uh I think linebacker that's a great starting point and now certainly uh some very positive news Tom because this has been a rough uh you know month and a half for fsus to have some positive momentum I also have a trell Jones Story coming up it's really good I think it kind of talks about just where F issue is of recruiting impact but um I think overall um this is Major news for FSU yeah Michael just one more followup here you know again Florida State and the edge rusher board you know that's been a point of contention conversation over the last couple of years last couple of Cycles I get this is 2026 but I'm looking at it you see um linebacker outside linebacker this looks like an athlete that FL got this looks like an athlete who could grow into somebody who becomes a disruptor I mean they're putting this stuff be the hammer little things like that in the lower left hand corner of his of his huddle film here his highlights but this this isn't like a a run stuffing middle linebacker type this looks like an athlete who who Florida State can deploy in space and and he and he can make some plays with athleticism rather than just a sideline to sideline linebacker play yeah I view him as the olb uh when I watch him uh does a lot of the characteristics of one you see him uh coverage on on the side covers the edge sets The Edge blit uh you see him a lot on the pass rush so you a guy that could end up in a multiple positions um but certainly an outside linebacker if we want to I guess characterize a certain place because he does most of his damage out there um but yeah a guy that's got a lot of traits a very good athlete and certainly one that uh I think if we watch fsu's linebackers the one thing that that they seem to want to covet more is is speed at linebacker and I think this guy kind of adds a lot to that makes a lot of sense Michael thank you for the time tonight we really appreciate it and a good news for Florida State as again we'll pull up the profile as we make the Switcheroo happened behind the scenes Isaiah Williams is now committed to Florida State and uh he spoke about that decision to commit to Florida state with our own Matt ler who is now with us and Matt welcome on to warchant TV for good news warchant TV's had a lot of bad news recently we appreciate the reporting that you're about to give us tonight but tell us a little bit about Isaiah as Michael said you could see it on the profile there was a flip graphic as people thought he might be going to Florida after decommitting from Syracuse what went into his decision to choose choose Florida State over the instate Gator yesterday I did get to talk to him as well I've talked to him two times the past two days one just to try to see what the visit was like and then after he committed uh quickly right after he committed um I've been following this one ever since he decommitted from Syracuse when he said that he really just wanted to focus on those Florida schools Miami Florida and Florida State I do think it was more of a Florida versus Florida State picture um that's why I got from the phone call I just got off off of because I asked him what was the moment like what was the moment you knew you really wanted to commit to Florida date and he was like well back when I committed to Syracuse I feel like I didn't think much about it and this one you know I went back home and talked to my parents his parents both FSU fans so it was a pretty easy conversation once he got home from the game and but he said the true moment was when he got offered by Florida and Florida State and he knew right then that those were going to be his two teams that he wanted to be a part of and it was those two um again this is a huge huge pickup he's the number three linebacker according to on three in the uh in the 26 class to put that in perspective Tavon Wallace who they miss out on in the 25 class was the number three linebacker so this is a really big deal and I agree with you what you guys are saying with the athlete uh they use them a lot off the edge I think this is someone that you're gonna be able to use in a lot of spots so Matt just one final question here about the personality type what kind of kid is Isaiah you know just speaking with him on the phone uh does this seem like a player who maybe could be a leader um in terms of cultivating a class recruiting other players uh just personality wise that not all recruits are created equal and all some are quiet some are leaders by example some are more boisterous how does Isaiah strike you um as a very confident goodgo kid I've always said this when we get on these videos I I really like how Mike norell recruits a lot towards character as well um not a lot of bad character kids come into this program and you see that on the field a lot too uh not recently with h communication and stuff but normally you do uh and I think he really fits that mold he already told me he had an eye on a few kids didn't really name many but he wants to recruit and help kids come to Florida State uh and he's really excited about it I think this is a kid who can be a leader who can be vocal and it's just a good kid all around very energetic on the phone so we can expect a story to be coming here with quotes from Isaiah Williams on war chain.com remember to head over there for full top to bottom coverage of Florida State's recruiting class 2025 2026 there will be a conversation hat right here on this channel in the coming days between myself and Michael Langston talking about Florida State's 0 and2 start and exactly are the high school kids taking it uh and also Michael has told us that there will be a trell Jones piece appearing on warchant.com mattt let us know what's some what are some things perhaps recruiting wise that you're working on beyond the backstory uh for this particular commit and what are some things that folks can expect on warchant not only in the story side but then also on the tribal council or sorry the premium recruiting board side yeah so obviously we'll have uh we'll have this story up with all the quotes of when I just talked to Isaiah uh interesting enough yesterday when I talked to him he thought the defense played well to him so I guess that was a big selling point also I talked to chase Lofton yesterday tight end kit to kind of see where he's at in his first game they went to Arizona to play he's from Nebraska they went to Arizona to play uh and he had 13 receptions for 13 130 yards I believe it was somewhere around there um so that'll be up not recruiting related I did get to talk to Luke Clinton golfer today and that'll be up sometime soon uh got a lot coming oh nice very nice so for Michael Langston behind the scenes and Matt ler we got you covered here at warchant.com warchant TV this is a a linebacker who can make some plays in space maybe he believed Matt that the defense played well because if a linebacker could come up and make a play and finish a play they were in position to do so because the defensive line actually was a little bit better than maybe some people thought we'll have more coverage for you warchant.com warchant TV he's Matt thanks to Michael and we will talk to you next time after you bask in the glow it's a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel folks FL State recruiting with a reason to give a thumbs up to the bottom of this video e
