can you describe what the Electoral College is absolutely the Electoral College is a system that was put in place back when we had 13 colonies um so for the framing of our um of our country there are 538 electoral that um are based on population of each state so for instance a state like California has 55 because it has most population a state like uh Delaware has a small population um they have three and so in order to win a presidential contest you need half of the Electoral colleges to win and the number is 270 so that's why you always see a vote in a race to get to 270 for each of the presidential candidates [Music]
