NCAA 25 College Football: Mississippi State Bulldogsat Auburn Tigers

SEC teams get ready to square off in what ought to be an oldfashioned slobber knocker as we'll see the Mississippi State Bulldogs taking on the Auburn Tigers for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis David poock and Jesse Palmer with me guys it's time to get it going Mississippi State about to boot it away as we start the festivities and there will be no return on this one as the ball bounds into the end zone and gets set first [Applause] down they'll give it to the back finds that crease and he's got four out to the 29 nice run there on first down you know this is a running back that gets better as the game goes on so they're going to want to make sure they keep feeding him the football let him get lathered up [Applause] [Applause] solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six an unforced error there they don't get the snap off in time so frustrating to see an offense lose track of the play clock and pick up a penalty like that line getting set on second [Applause] down tosses it back he's going for the big play and they couldn't connect on the Deep shot let's see if things get worse as a flag on the field which way is this going to go they'll decline the penalty here and let the result of that play Stand after the misfire it's third down [Applause] to the air it's Thorne quickly to the tight end and he's not going to make it the defense denying him the first down and I love the discipline on defense right there big third down so everyone keeping their eyes on the quarterback rallying to the ball making a tackle great team defense [Applause] [Applause] they are backing up their pregame words their first drive of the game fourth down in their own end and they're going for it and they gambled in their own end turn it over on downs and now the other offens is set up that's a great job there by the defense here early in this game getting a huge stop and they've got an opportunity to make the opponent pay offense taking over now in great field position let's see what they can do here from a play calling standpoint to try to put some points on the board offense getting set for first down give to the back a seven yd pickup it'll be second and three well it's plays like that that will help this offense stay in Rhythm all game long if you can have that kind of success on first down running the football it just opens up your entire Playbook will they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three from the gun they'll give it on the inside they finally make the stop with the big run is plenty to move those sticks for the first down and you know big chunks like this don't happen unless you commit to the Run game you got to get those big boys up front into the game understanding I want to knock people off the football create some holes like you do here from my running back make the game easy from the 14 yd line it's first and 10 wide out in motion looking for a crease it's move he'll be brought down at the 5 yd line and this defense is on its heels going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone out of the gun the running back has it nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry well they were trying to run a sweep but they got put in the dust pan real fast and defenses understand I cannot let fast guys get on the edge I I got to kick that ball turning back to and they get to the quarterback and knock him down back in the 16 man that's just kind of frustrating for an offense you move the ball all the way down the field you got an opportunity on third down and you can't protect your quarterback you get the sack and now it's probably field goal time if you make a field goal now on fourth down here comes the field goal team it's good and that'll put the first points of the game on the board it's or nothing so they're lining up to kick it off after that last Drive put a three spot on the board and now the defense will try to shut him down it bounds through the back of the end zone it'll be a Touchback two running backs alongside the quarterback they'll run the RP and throw it right and after the stop that is going to put a bow on this first quarter second that's the end of the first qu Mississippi St we'll get this quarter going with a second down play Touch pass on the right and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no game land great recognition by the corner that touch pass after he throws at the quarterback it's a pass he can't throw it for it again nice job understanding that flying up coming and making the big tackle in the open field it's a flee flicker smashes through [Applause] they were unfazed by that earlier fourth down failure and will try for a second time in this [Applause] one back to the quarterback he rifles one deep down the right side can't complete the long throw and the defense gets off the field on fourth down what a great job by this def get third down stop and you're like yes put my hand in the air fourth down force a punt they go for it and you get a stop and set your offense up in great field position already nice job by this defense got enough space into the house [Applause] touchdown the offense did exactly what it needed to do getting the ball in field position like that it's that killer mentality you step on their throat you keep your foot down when you get opportunities like that they are golden chances to put touchdowns on the board the offense took care of [Applause] business he'll bring it back from inside to spot and they'll get him on the ground as the offense comes out to start the next Drive first down here with time for maybe one more play until the two-minute warning [Applause] they'll leave it with him open space at the 25 got a lot of running room he's at the 30 he's at the 10 and he'll take it all the way they couldn't bring him down touchdown [Applause] Tigers now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic [Applause] and with the extra point the lead is cut to three it's 10 to 7 if only it were always this easy for the offensive coordinator One play big chunk yardage put points on the board just like that lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive he'll bring it out it's Mosley I know he thinks he can house every return but sometimes you just have to take a knee as he stopped at the 14 here comes the Mississippi State offense ready to attack Jesse looking to take it down the field for backto back touchdowns I think it's really important for them moving forward too to have a lot of balance and he will be sacked at the 6yd line and a great job by the defense dropping in zone coverage all eyes on the quarterback taking away the options and then finally the pass rush gets home gets him on the ground dropping back it's shapen here he goes breaking the pocket On Target to the left tripped up for the tackle well I'll tell you it's a nice job by the quarterback there of course he's right-handed but there he is scrambling and rolling to his left it's not easy to be accurate when you're doing it but he's able to put that right on target for the completion they get to him as he throws picked off he'll try to take it back and they'll close in on him after a good return on the interception it's really hard when that quarterback gets outside the pocket because it cuts off half of the field once he starts to roll out everybody starts to Sprint to the other side of the field you know you're not going to throw it across your body going to the right great job by the defense closing it offing the [Applause] in the red area it's Hunter a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior I like the decision there in the RPO game too guys I know only only got a couple of yards but that play is going to open up bigger opportunities throwing the football down the field in the RPO game too so keep handing it off to this guy let him see what he can do and when the defense gives you the look to t hold the football and then finally throw it that's when you take ADV damage gets it out quickly couldn't quite nudge it in not sure you could get much closer but it'll be first and goal really nice job there by the quarterback understanding its Blitz and not just that it's Blitz but knowing whether it's man coverage or Zone coverage behind the blitz you still got to know where your answer is going to be based on what the defense is doing in the back end and he add the answer to the test right there and how about that play by that giant that mountain of a man on the defensive front that back had absolutely nowhere to run the football actually is he counting I think he's counting to make sure there's only 11 guys on defense got nothing last time now second and goal from the three motion by the back forces the defense to adjust and he takes it in for the score touchdown over and that is exactly what you want from your offense man late in a half want to execute and then punch it in physically on the ground take the lead go into the half take all the momentum nice execution the drive by that offense and they did tack on the extra one get that touchdown right before the half build momentum and the last thing you need to do is mess it up by allowing a big kickoff return on the move from inside is five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half linebacker trying to create some confusion wants to throw it's shapen and that defense gets to him and down he goes at the nine here's a timeout called as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little [Applause] closer they'll have just enough time to get one more snap before the half and off from the gun incase at the 20 he'll be brought down and that's the final play of the half that's the end Mississippi [Music] Auburn ready to boot it deep to start the second half and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own [Applause] [Music] [Applause] the Mississippi State offense headed back to the field to go to work tight game as we start the third quarter and we'll see what type of adjustments they made at halftime and getting the ball first here I think is such a big deal like I get the first chance to make a statement make the adjustments to create momentum for my squad right here in the third quar yeah I think it's so important for this offense to set the tone here early in the second half to get a nice drive going build that confidence and get your defense ready to come on out get a stop and change the complexity of this game now facing a third and long he's looking downfield to throw got out of trouble got rid of it grabbed in the middle it's boo really good job to pick up a chunk of yardage and get it out to the 39 yd line Mississippi State comes out after picking up the first down from the gun to G looking for room Rams him with the stiff arm now they're starting to feel it they've got a first down at the 44 and the Bulldogs are on the Move might as well run him until they stop him he's got it again smashes through and he'll pick up the first down after a tough run there well right away after picking up the first down they go right back to their playmaker at running back and I love the push they got up front getting a hat on a hat opening a huge hole for the body and you become so hard to defend when you can run the football successfully on first down you're starting like that now what opens up play action now you're making me play pass and run this offense if they can create that run physicality now it opens up everything else brought down just outside the Red Zone he moves the chains it's at the 22 you're down obviously at the half you had a conversation we got to come out and put points on the board and Jesse it looks like they're going to start with the ground game and I love this David too regardless of whether they're losing or their winning come out here and try to be the most physical unit here in the second half get this run game established they'll spread the defense out going five wide on second and 10 he'll take it himself wrestleing down just short of the first down I don't even think they're going to bring out the change to measure this one we talk about quarterbacks having to make quick decisions and I think you saw it on that play nobody opened downfield he just decided to Tay to the ground to try to move the chain they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a disaster no movement from the field goal unit the offense is out there to try to keep this drive alive on fourth down he'll ride his man on the option he'll toss it headed to the end zone touchdown Mississippi State and that one will put him up here in the second [Applause] half lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point puts them up by a field goal 75 yards on the touchdown drive and they finished it off with a 14 yd Run for the score he wisely lets that one bounce through the back of the end zone and they'll take over at the 25 [Applause] and Auburn is ready to go back to work on offense now they need to put something together to answer that last score there's a lot of pressure too on this offense to have to execute at a high level they've got to score points David but they can't go too fast because their defense right now is tied and I think that's the difficulty being a play C like I have to balance all of those things my defense is a little bit tired I can't put on the field but I got to be aggressive because this is a back and forth game so a lot to process and think about after the incompletion it's second and 10 from their own 25 dropping back it's Thorn looking down field he got his hands on it but couldn't hold on to it what a time that would have been for their first pick of the game well a great job in coverage on the back end by the defense you just got to finish the play that should have been a pick [Applause] probably the toughest call on the play sheet third and long Ball's at the 25 from the gun wants to pass snagged in the middle it's Coleman still on his feet at the 45 and they are pushing the ball down the field a big pick up on that one and the tackle is finally made love the individual effort by the wide receiver after the catch making people Miss showing you the speed now he set up his offense down in the red zone as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter from the Red Zone looking for a receiver that's caught it's Fairweather running through contact touchdown tiger and they add six more to the more with that trip to the house field shrinks tight end grow big targets big results I've never heard it put that way but you're dang right guy is so big a lot of times you get a DB matched up on him he can just post him up a linebacker he can run by him so that's why these tight ends are so dangerous down here in this red coming out with it it's Pitman they get him down and that'll be the final play of the third period they'll break the seal on this quarter here on first [Applause] down he's going to pass the sweet feet keeping the Play Alive the receiver was doubled and they picked it off no real chance on the return but they've got it at the 34 what a nice catch by the defensive back listen a lot of times you see DBS get in position to make plays but there's a reason they play DB and not wide receiver great job finishing the interception catching the ball making a big flame fighting off the defender and stampeding through the defense that run epitomizes a veteran Savvy senior who knows how to find Space well they've got the lead the defense just did their part getting a takeaway it's an outter on offense you want to run the ball and take as much time as possible between snaps stay in bounds and let this clock tick away now inside the 20 first and 10 from the 18 they'll run it they want to take their time here and this is a perfect situation this a situation if you asked me to be in before the game the coaches would have been in heav I got the football I got the lead on their side of the field nice gain on first down same exact script do it again run the football run the clock let that thing tick down and if we add points we add points we've reached a two-minute warning in this offense trying to milk this clock and keep time on their [Applause] side now on second down and we'll probably see another run and that might do it if they can get a first down looking for a physical attack from the gun they get him sto at the 5yd line but it will be first and goal from there yeah it's maker break time for this defense now they got to get a stop and if that's bringing more bodies in bringing more beef in they're running the football right up the gut right at you they're not going to throw the football in this situation time to be more physical and get this big stop Jet Sweep pass and he's going to score touchdown tiger and you know late in the games offenses sometimes get conservative when they got the lead and they got the ball I love this offense they were aggressive they got another score added to the lead and now you're trying to Salt this game away and the extra point is up and good and they have an 11-point fourth quarter lead about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown fielded In The End Zone it's Pitman here comes the Bulldog offense back onto the field well the good news about this drive Jesse it can't go worse than last time through a pick on the first play no it certainly can't I think one good way David to help your quarterback Turn the Page is just find him an easy completion here and let him get back into a run yeah or find him an easy hand off just hand the football off maybe get the ground game going maybe jump start this offense a little bit they'll spread the defense out going five wide on second and 10 looking downfield it's shapen trying to get to him that pass is incomplete and they might be fortunate it wasn't knock free for a fumble it'll be third down if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air he's taking a deep shot late in the game and they can't hook up on the big play and that brings up a fourth down after that incompletion fourth and along now on your own side of the field you're trailing in the fourth quarter what's your go-to play call here in the passing game where is the matchup that you and he throws his third pick of the day his head has to be spinning and he's wrapped up after a solid return on the and that's a really good job yo don't quit now y'all lame as for quitting y'all some hoes you thought this was sweet a sweet ass y'all some hoes for quitting think this sweet a sweet over here we ass always quitting
