who is the better president for Social Security is it Trump or Harris we take a look at this article right here Trump versus Harris here's who Americans think would do a better job for Social Security now this is going to break it down by gender by age of who the better better president is for Social Security so really interesting article going to get into that also we'll get into this CA Harris on Social Security 10 things you need to know and if we take a look at number six right here a current and new beneficiaries would enjoy a 200 $ per month benefit boost coming from camela Harris uh so I'll let you know what is going to happen if either one of them becomes Social Security with their plans who the American people are voting for right now when it comes to Social Security Which presidential candidate and I'm going to give you some other important updates as well before I dive into the main content if you appreciate the social security updates hit the like button and subscribe to the channel for more social security updates so let's get into it here before I do really curious who would you for Trump or Harris let me know down in the comments below and who do you think would do a better job of Social Security Trump or Harris let us know down below all right so let's get into this article first uh who would do a better job for Social Security so let's get right into the numbers here uh so basically this survey was done for more thaner thousand Americans ages 18 and up and uh basically these are the numbers from that survey ask asking who would do a better job or Which presidential candidate could best protect Social Security and I think these numbers actually might surprise you so of those surveyed 35.6% think Donald Trump's policies would be better for the program a total of 46.8% of respondents think kamla Harris policies would protect the program better of those asked 3% said I Nei C candidate could protect Social Security and a total of 7.8.9 believe neither presidential candidate would necessarily be good for the program and 7% don't know so that's the general part of it however broken down by gender uh also really curious do you think that if someone were to vote for one presidential candidate do they think that the other presidential candidate would be better at Social Security I'm wondering if these numbers just are based on who they would vote for or if they are separating the idea of social security from their preferred presidential candidate I don't know uh that was a question I had during this but anyways this is broken down into gender so a total of 38% of men believe that Trump's policies would protect Social Security the best while 32% of women said the same alternatively 47% of men think Harris policies would be better for Social Security and 46% of women agreed nearly 7% of men said they think they don't think either presidential candidate would protect Social Security while 9% of women said the same and around 3% of men and women think either candidate would be equally equally good for the program all right now let's break it down by age so age 18 to 24 so more respondents think Trump's policies would be better than Harris so uh this is 43% verse 33% this is for age 18 to 24 now age 25-34 nearly 46% think Harris policies would be better while 35% think Trump's uh would be better then ages 35 to 44 more Americans think Harris would be better than Trump for Social Security so this is 44% verse 35% so interesting because these are all the age groups that have uh don't have any Social Security plans coming anytime soon now when it comes to the Social Security ages this is where it gets interesting so age 55 to 64 nearly 51% of respondents believe Harris policies would protect the program while 31% believe Trump's would be better to protect the program and then 65 plus now this is the Social Security age majority of them actually all of them except for a few uh so for 65 plus a little over 52% think Harris policies would be better for Social Security than Trump's 33% so uh really interesting what do you think about those poll numbers how does it reflect your personal beliefs uh whose proposals would better align with preserving the program so the Social Security Board of Trustees has predicted um all right so basically yeah so it's basically saying that it's uh it's a toss up between Trump verse Harris uh but yeah we'll soon find out when it comes to specifically Harris CA Harris on Social Security 10 things you need to know so when it comes to the VP now presidential candidate Harris what is she going to do for Social Security well she actually hasn't really spoken much come out and spoken about a plan for Social Security as Biden did when he was presidential candidate Biden came out with a four-point plan uh Harris hasn't really come out and said anything like a plan like that basically just saying that the Republicans are going to cut it which isn't entirely true so when it comes to the 10 things you need to know technically the Harris campaign has yet to adopt an official plan so as I just mentioned uh there is no official plan for Social Security when it comes to Harris which I think at this point would be a really good idea especially if you have 70 million voters you want to let them know what you're going to do with Social Security and number two Harris is staunchly opposed to any proposal that would reduce or cut Social Security benefits uh I think same goes for Trump as well and probably any candidate the only candidates that have been uh caught speaking of cutting Social Security was actually behind closed doors it was a handful of Republicans uh but not publicly no one has ever said that number three she has previously supported proposals from Biden so naturally as the VP she has uh said that she supported whatever Biden would do for Social Security but Biden hasn't done anything for Social Security he just spoke about uh you know not really just talking about it not putting forth a plan or or promoting any change uh number four as a senator in California Harris co-sponsored the Social Security expansion act now this is the Bernie Sanders bill that would give an increase of $200 more per month to every social security recipient uh this is still in Congress still being pushed by Bernie Sanders but yet hasn't gone anywhere so she was a co-sponsor for this as with dozens of other senators and members of to Congress uh number five she favors cost of living adjustment expansion for seniors so she wants the uh C Cola to go change from the CPI W to the CPI which would result in a higher Cola adjustment every year uh number six current and new beneficiaries would enjoy $200 per month benefit boost so this is uh this is the big thing here this is part of the Social Security expansion act which she helped support uh so number seven Harris aims to increase the special minimum benefit so since she has co-sponsored that bill this is also a part of it which would uh increase the special minimum benefit of Lifetime low earning low earning workers to 125% of the federal poverty level for years to come so basically what that means for some context the special minimum benefit for a lifetime low earning worker with 30 years of coverage in 2024 is $1,066 which is well below the F federal poverty level of a single filer this year of $1,255 uh or $155,000 annually number eight Harris would have the rich pay their fair share by ending payroll tax loopholes number nine the proposals Kam CA Harris supports would almost certainly fall short of fixing Social Security so uh that's an interesting one and then number 10 the likely Democratic Presidential nominee would find little support in Congress for reform so to amend the Social Security Act 60 votes in favor will be needed in the Senate however it's been 45 years since either party had a super majority of seats 60 in the upper of Congress this means bipartisan cooperation is a necessity if anything gets done uh so with Democrats and Republicans unable to find Common Ground whatever Kamala Harris proposes assuming she becomes Democratic party Presidential nominee and wins in November would likely Fall on deaf ears so uh same would go if Trump was President uh he's facing the opposition the majority opposition of Democrats in the house uh if you don't have them on board then nothing is going to get done either presidential candidate so uh really curious what are your thoughts on that and that is all the news that I have for you today to hopefully cheer you up a bit here's my daughter Belle's tip of the day hi guys this is Belle this is the tip of the day I want to tell you something what you
