Texas A&M Football 2024 Schedule Preview & Record Projection

what's going on YouTube this is sg1 sports and you're watching our college football channel we're going to give you a very early projected record and preview the schedule for Texas A&M for this upcoming season before we get to 2024 let's look back at 2023 here was the schedule from last season for Texas A&M had to play Miami in the non-conference you look at their games against the East uh they played Tennessee on the road that was obviously a tough game there and then they got South Carolina at home U so overall the schedule it was a tough schedule but it wasn't horrible New Era though in the SEC as we look at this 2024 schedule and they Jump Right In in the non-conference let's take a look at that non-conference schedule it'll be Notre Dame at home then mcne Bowling Green and New Mexico state so three easy games in there but Notre Dame is going to be a really tough one and that is that's going to be a huge game to kick off the season um Notre Dame is I've seen them in top preseason or way too early whatever you want to call them I've seen them in the top 10 for for many of those rankings so we know this is going to be a good Notre Dame team Texas A&M a lot of question marks with the new staff and a lot of roster turnover it's hard to say just how good they'll be but we expect this to be a very solid at least Notre Dame or Texas A&M team so that's going to be a huge non-conference game there and then you look at the home schedule those four uh games that are non-conference games then they get Missouri LSU and Texas at home so they only get three true home games in the SEC and they're all against really good teams Missouri LSU and Texas all probably going to be top 15 teams so those will be tough but at least you get them at home you look at the road schedule you got Florida on the road then you have Arkansas that'll be in Arlington of course neutral site I may be wrong on this but I think I heard somewhere that that after this year that's going to go to home in away you guys can correct me if that if that's wrong down in the comments but I think that's what uh I had heard there for that so this will be the last if that's true that'll be this will be the last time they play in Arlington they'll play Mississippi State the next next or Mississippi State on the road South Carolina on the road and Auburn on the road so you look at this schedule this road schedule and these are all games that Texas A&M's got a shot in I mean I know playing away from home it's tough but uh they Pro I think right now I'd say they're going to be better than all five of these teams so that means if you win these five games and you can pull off some upsets at home watch out for Texas A&M could be a sneaky team this year let's go to the schedule here Notre Dame that's the first one again on August the 31st then they'll play mcne on September 7th then it's on the road at Florida September 14th you know they're going to be a better team than Florida yeah but that's a tough place to play and you know those five games I showed you I would be surprised if they won all of them just cuz it's tough to win on the road in the SEC but there's Bowling Green on the 21st then Arkansas in Arlington and Missouri on October 15th so they will play six games before they get their first bye that's kind of a late uh first bye because all the teams get two of course this year but Missouri on the 5ifth then that bye then on the road at Mississippi State on the 19th back home for LSU on the 26th then they'll go on the road to play South Carolina on November the 2nd home for New Mexico state and then it will be on the road at Auburn on the 23rd and by the way their second bye is between South Carolina and New Mexico State not an ideal spot for a bye but uh it is what it is and we've seen some some good by weeks and we've seen some bad ones as we go through all these schedules but Auburn on the road on the 23rd and then at home for Texas November 30th can't wait for that matchup Texas Texas ADM playing again that is great for college football so they have no back-to-back Road games that's good news uh they have really no real tough stretches I mean Arkansas and Missouri back to back then you got a by- week after that uh Mississippi State LSU South Carolina those games in a row two Road games yeah but again Mississippi State South Carolina not expected to be great so this is a pretty good schedule Auburn and Texas A&M with auburn being on the road and te Auburn and Texas at the end there for Texas ADM that could be their toughest back to back right there but overall it's a balance schedule you've got the tough game against Notre Dame yes but if they can take care of business on the road and not get upset on the road and then maybe pull off an upset or two at home watch out again Texas A&M with this schedule what sets up to give them a chance to be uh up there pretty high in the rankings potentially here were some of those projections from last season you can see s and five was the record our projection was actually seven and five so it hit it right on the money I predicted this team to go 9 and three thought they were going to be a little bit better uh of course lost some close games could have been nine and three especially I if you keep the quarterback healthy there maybe you know with Connor wigman in there maybe they're able to get to 9 and three Athlon predicted them to go8 and4 the over under was only 7 and a half which seemed kind of low um but obviously not cuz they went up under that number uh which again was a bit of a surprise for me I thought this team was probably at least going to get to eight and four but again disappointing season you look back at the schedule here and this is the scale that we use to do the projection if it's under 20 over 80 those are pretty much guaranteed wins or losses 20 to 29 71 80 those are games where I think the spread will be clearly double digits 30 39 61 to 70 games where I think the spread will be more like a touchdown 6 S8 points and then the over uh then the 40 to 60 those are games where I think really it could go either way those are your 50-50 games games that could go either way spread should be you know less than six or seven points in those games so we'll start with the easier wins for for Texas A&M I think you have three of those mcnees Bowling Green and New Mexico State they should be huge favorites on all three of these games really game shouldn't be close at all so they should roll I know New Mexico State beat Auburn last year but I don't think it's going to be the same New Mexico State team this year so yeah I still think that's pretty much you know it might be a little bit lower than the other two but I still think it's definitely in the green zone here and then we've got Arkansas in the purple so I think that's a s you know I think they'll be favored by about a touchdown it's kind of hard to to figure out where to put this because the formula that I use uh it it goes with homeing away we don't really have anything for a neutral s uh so if this game was at Arkansas for example it would be a 5050 game but because it's neutral sight game we're going to call it you know more like a home game for Texas A&M again neutral sight game and then I think you've got uh one game where I think they'll be a clear Underdog and really that's the only game that's Texas Texas is considered a top tier team Texas A&M for me is like a tier three team I know it's at home I know it's a rivalry but still Texas should be favored by about a touchdown in that game and that leaves the rest of the schedule here the rest of the schedule it's all 50/50 games and it's weird how it works out for Texas A&M because they play a lot of the a lot of the teams games where they should be the better team they play those games on the road and the games where the opponent's probably the better team they play those games at home and that's why you have so many 50/50 games so like I think Notre Dame is going to be a better team than Texas A&M I think Missouri and LSU are going to be better teams than Texas A&M I think Texas A&M is going to be better than Florida better than Mississippi State better than South Carolina probably better than auburn but all those games are on the road so it's it's a crazy it's a it kind of comes out crazy here because again the games where I think they're the better team well they have to play those on the road which makes them tougher and the games where I think they're not the better team they get those games at home so it gives them a chance a better chance to win those games and it all just comes out with a bunch of 50/50 games so yes the majority of the schedule for Texas A&M it's games that could go either way which um is you know that might be the most 50-50 games for any team in the SEC now if you flipped this around and you switched all the the home and ways then you know Notre Dame would then be a game in the yellow Florida would then be in the purple Missouri would be in the yellow Mississippi state would be in the purple LSU would be you know so it's it's really weird how that worked out but again it wouldn't matter if it was the other way around the formula would still come out the same so again those games are counted as 50/50 games Arkansas counted at 65% Texas counted at 35% those games are going to cancel each other out you give them the wins in the green games and the record comes out to 8 and four so it's 7.5 we've rounded it up to 8 and4 but right there in between 7 and5 and 8 and4 is the actual projection again we round that up to 8 and four and that's what you get for Texas A&M so uh a pretty good season a little bit better than last year but again with all these 50/50 games if they win a lot of them they could have a much better record if they lose a lot of them obviously it could be a very disappointing season so Texas is one of the more
