hi meteorologist Joe Winters thanks for joining us for this weather update we do still have excessive heat warnings and heat advisories across a good share of Eastern Iowa where those advisories and warnings are in effect that's when the heat index could get above 100 degrees possibly above 110 at times during the afternoon there's your feels like temperature as we head through the afternoon still hot and muggy as we head into the evening hours it improves slightly tomorrow we'll show you that in a second today hot and humid conditions there's a storm possible talk more about that in a second as well mid 80s in the north where more clouds have held around mid 90s in the South where there's been more Sunshine day tomorrow brings mid to Upper 80s a slight chance of storms and Southeast winds very light as we head through the afternoon into the evening hours some showers and storms could develop as they do we are watching for the possibility of some of those storms again this afternoon evening could be strong to severe isolated activity Wednesday and then we reset the atmosphere for a cold front to move through on Thursday there's your severe weather outlook this afternoon large hail damaging wind probably more the primary threat that's across Eastern aisle with any storms that potentially do develop wind shift coming our way a northwest wind Friday a West Wind on Saturday and that means good things because we're going to see the due points drop it's still going to be muggy although not the highest heat for both Wednesday and Thursday but look at that due Point by Saturday down to 60 Dees look at our temperatures as well for Labor Day weekend upper 70s and some lows down in the 50s thanks for joining us for this first alert Storm Team update
