Davis Fire Operational Update - September 14, 2024

good morning John svantes operations with the Davis fire and just start around the horn with our operational briefing division Papa and division Zulu um maintained a good uh mop up all day long yesterday and we'll continue that effort again today and moving over into the Davis Creek area and into division Alpha continuing to mop up that hand line going to start doing some suppression repair in that area pulling some of the hose off the line feel really good about the containment in this area moving forward um up to about 100 ft and and more of of mop up completed in there up around the horn up into the upper slope near the ski area area near the tanon area still continuing to work the fire's edge up in there um adding up to a chain to a chain and a half more like 150 ft of of mop up along the fire Edge right there resources are Move Along at a good Pace going to start also looking at some of the rehab suppression repair in these areas we do have a lot of dozers uh and hand lines in there we're going to do our best to get it back to its uh pre-fire state by um you know repairing some of those um those control lines in there working around the horn right here uh division Lima has been in a really good State for the past couple of days all the mop up has been in complete in there but we still have a presence in there we're still working all the hot spots uh throughout the fire uh one of the main points to to keep in mind is that even though we have a lot of containment all on the fire we do still have interior smokes that are still popping up as it it gets warmer throughout the day some of those interior smokes um are are are continuing to burn that's going to be we're going to leave those and let that uh consume itself the main thing to take out is we do not have any threat to the containment line as we move forward and that's your morning update
