team that's like a pushover team you know this is not a pushover team this is a team that competes for their conference ye year in and year out especially the past uh the most recent years now last year they dealt with a lot of injuries and this this this past off season they they they had to go into the portal heavy they had to go into the portal heavy to replenish some guys that they got pulled from Western Kentucky was a a talent pool for the portal was a was a a portal pool if we could call it something so um I I think I think this is going to be more of a test than the fan base is is is expecting and not necessarily at the point I'm I'm not saying a test to the point where they're going to come in and they're going to put up 21 points or anything but you will see our guys Sweat Right you will see our guys sweat a little bit what's up Tim welcome into the chat you will see him sweat a little bit we gonna get a great workout a great work out guys hamstrings are going to need to be stretched out this game guys are going to have to be disciplined especially on the back end our secondary is going to be test tremendous tested tremendously offensively I think our offensive line will be tested because they're going to run a lot of stunts up front a lot of free man blitzes free man blitzes and it's going to be how soon can can can can the oine identified and stall it for that that Split Second That jayen Miro needs to identify it and know where his his relief is Right conceptual wise schematically are the wide receivers and the quarterback seeing the same thing can we start week one off that way this this this this Western Kentucky team will present um some some some adversity they will present some adversity cuz if they don't early if if everything comes out going squeaky clean smooth I'll tell you this I tell you this it's it's bad news for not just West Kentucky for college football if this Alabama team can start off squeaky clean these first three weeks and I mean be blemish free and our first blemish show up week week five against Georgia game four for us week five of the season that's that's trouble for college football but jumping into their defensive side so I want y'all to focus on one name on this defensive side a a very talented young man the senior transfer Anthony Johnson Jr I did some scouting on on West ky's uh roster man and this corner here he's going to be one that they're not they're not scared to leave him in ISO situations so will we see a lot of iso opportunities with whoever's lining up at that X Position will we see jayen Mero display the the ability to back shoulder pinpoint lead you know um read read routes can can Jaylen and the iso receivers be on the same page right can how many how many times will we uh see this week will we see pre- snap motion to create ISO matchups right I'm ready to see a lot of this I'm ready to see a lot of this this Saturday because tomorrow it's it's it it goes down and I think Western Kentucky staff I I want y'all to understand this is not a inexperienced staff they bring back um what uh coach coach Ty Hilton he has a he has a lot of um to not necessarily kin deor tree but a lot of coaches who were analysts or had ties to to Kin deor Roots they come from the same schematic region so offensively we're going to see our defense tested I can't wait to get into can't wait to get into the stats and everything of what we could see but I think with with TJ Finley once a once once a bust always a bust and I hate to talk about the young man like that but collegiately at the quarterback position he has performed underperformed tremendously and there's there there's some Juju there's some bad juju with TJ Finley and the Alabama uh Team his his his bouts against Alabama have been all but but cringy I mean the Auburn game was just I felt sorry for the young man just got got whipped up and now again he's getting put in a position where this year we're going to be a more aggressive style of defensive play calling so all of that scrambling and stuff he did and what is used to against saving system he's not going to be able to do that against this this this Kan wack style of of play caller I guarantee you Tim norstrom says Kaden Vel is about the same size as Finley and brought them back from 28 down in the bowl game wide receiver 17 is it burning this isn't going to be an easy win by any means but I think we get it done Tim I I think they present a opport unities for us to get the right looks that we need in order for our team to grow and that's what you want in in your in your opening games if you're not going to go big and go go for the top 20 top 10 matchup get you an opponent that's willing to come in and provide some a competitive a a Competitive Edge that forces your team to stay locked in and stay focus and I think Western Kentucky provides that great take Tim great comment I definitely see a scripted touchdown pass to Jeremy Bernard on the first play kind of like the aday you think Jeremy Bernard I think Kobe Prince you think Jeremy Bernard I think Kobe Prince I think Kobe Prince and and this is the reason why I have been hearkening on Kobe Prince all offseason everybody has been kind of forgetting about how important and how effective Kobe Prince has been coming into into Alabama as a freshman he started he went out against Texas and started I think people forget that think people forget that number 80 was out there that was Kobe Prince he went out there and and com and and contributed just as much as Isaiah Bond did why Isaiah bonds got got all this recognition I don't know but Kobe Prince is just as effective and I think he will be a key part he will be when I'm talking about leading receiver I'm not necessarily talking about yards and catches I think he will be the guy when we talk about this receiver room and who we're looking who who jayen mirro will look to for those those uh clutch moments those go-to we are kicking off the season with the perfect Vibes the perfect energy I'm telling yall I'm excited to have this next uh guest caller here on the show man this is something that we're trying to make a regular thing um I've been I've been waiting to to get this thing rolling we've been waiting for the season to really kick off so it could be meaningful and and and not just entertaining but but also informative things that we could actually have tangible Insight on and be able to to speculate on and talk about so this guest I have on right now man I think everybody in the chat is familiar uh with the person with with the with the personality but also the coach man he's not just a personality but an actual coach he's not just a a a chatter in the chat he's a coach man and um I'm glad that he's able to join me on the line this morning so without further Ado man welcome to the show man my big brother I call him my big brother more like my uncle Big Brother type type Vibe but my guy coach Al Sanders man how you feeling this morning man can you hear me coach coach what's up Tria fam what's up let's go coach Al Sanders is on the line baby it's time let's go man can't you smell a cut grass man man in the air baby I smell it coach Ally smells so good outside I mean the you know what I'm talking about the the fall air the fall air is here I mean and it get hot it's still getting hot in the middle of the day but the morning time it feel like football weather in the morning I tell you this time of year I maybe it's just me I don't that grass man you know back in the day coming up playing we didn't have and all we had grass cut grass it melt different yes you start cutting into practice it just it's just it's in the air facts man facts you right there with it man so so coach Al it's great to have you on this morning and um I I just want to take a moment to to thank you for taking time out your morning to join in man um we've had our we've had our conversations in the past and um when it comes to breaking down offenses I I I mean especially from the from the offensive line down to the the running back run blocking scheme and you know breaking down passing Concepts all of these things that that can be talked about when it goes down to breaking down the game of football um you bring a great perspective with experience actual experience college high school all levels of coaching and actual playing experience so I'm glad to to have you not only as a friend and a brother but a resource to to provide for the the coach smooth Network family the the triaa family so I appreciate you for joining but we dive into the conversation man since last week talked we've had our our speculation of what this Personnel grouping would look like we have a good idea of of how this this roster looks depth chart wise with our offensive line group um going into week one against Western Kentucky Personnel grouping wise what's your feels and how the matchups are going to be displayed what's your what's your overall outlook before we dive into the particularist coach yeah uh great question you know first of all I love our Personnel uh we know we we we got a lot of carryover and some new blood that that would complement what we want to do first of all we super Talent U talented and and so go a game like this I'm looking at who I'm playing you know how can I game plan now we're in the game plan we not in the summer camp anymore we actually trying to figure out how to get matchups that we can win consistently um so looking at the opponent um one thing that jumps out of me is that and I don't know if anybody else looked at this but on defense West Kentucky is starting 10 transfers upper class okay so this is not an inexperienced defense all right this is not an inexperienced defense they they they come with a lot of experience a lot of snaps under their belt um and the key is for them is just like our defense the newbies can they transfer into the scheme in play FB okay so we may be able to exploit some of that on them just like they may be able toally against us um so that's that's the first thing I would what do I attack how do I attack uh knowing what my strengths on offense are versus what their weaknesses on defenses are and you know and who we want to establish ourselves as an identity as an offense that's the first thing I right correct and so in in in establishing identity um establishing how you want to attack um I think from my perspective a lot of people have this misconception that this is going to be some air raid Alabama pass attack um but I I I I I want Alabama fans to not be misled do not be surprised if this offense is able to put up you know 380 plus passing yards you know on the regular with with 25 or less pass attempts do not be surprised um if that's the style of offense but the the the running atts I honestly believe coach Al that that kin deor wants to get actual handoffs and um quarterback designed run plays Nick Sheridan also I think they really want to implement the extensive um the intricacies of of this run game that that with the skill sets that we have available you talk about jayen milro you talk about Jam Miller you talk about Justice Haynes Richard young even the young guys Kevin Riley and Daniel Hill haven't make an impact in in the um in the scrimmages and also um we've been featuring a young man Jr Gardner who's had some crazy work during some of these scrimmages while Jen Miller and Justice Haynes were were in black jerseys um this this young man this walk on J.R Gardner has been he looks good I I mean he's nice man yeah he looks good yeah you know you touching on something that uh when you were talking earlier about us what we do I mean if I'm looking at man I I really was shocking I mean i' come out really in 21 Personnel shocker everybody and I tell you why uh in the scene that that we used to run that evolved into the air raid uh we call a blue brown kind of formation which is a two back set and brown blue left right kind of thing you know H and and uh and so what happens with that when you got a guy like Cameron two you put two guys up in there and you got uh Jeremy and Kendrick on the outside first out the gate you could you could do some things with one of the back orbit and stuff like that and you know fake a hand off then off the backside you know you run a little option with a snag route with uh C with a with a de pre and what that does is that gets them looking at the eye candy right off the junk right off the you know right off the rip you know and they say hey look we're going to we're going to run the ball but right there's a snag rout to pre get him end of the game nobody know what a sag route is it's kind of like a like a leak like leaking leaking to the backside just leaking to the backside yeah the snag yeah it puts that it puts that outside backer in a Bine because he's got a two-way go to either take the back and go with that back in motion jum the tight end so the quarterback got a easy read so you you fake the the fake hand off across your face and then you throw it to the back side but what that does it gets deay in the middle it keeps that backside line backer he's on his heel right the gate come back with the two running the football is gonna be something we gonna do and and that's the thing I think where what you're going to build off of running the football is getting those linebackers hesitant that's one thing that I uh we we lacked as far as our our play calling in recent years is is you're going to see a lot of defenses have to guess now you won't you won't know based off a pre-nap what we're going to do and this is a staff Nick Sheridan was talking about it where for anywhere from from 45 to 58% of their play calling at Washington you saw pre- snap moving so that's that's almost every other play every other play you're gonna see some pre- snap movement to get you and your linebackers thinking okay there's a shift here all right they went from they went from from our two by one now they're they're they in a bunch a bunch tight trips what do they run with this person after they came out a 2 by one oh wait the tight end jumped out to to to a a split trip set a bunch split like I can't wait to see and then I I can't wait to see what they're going to do with the with the with the unbalanced formations when we have the two tight ends split stacked out in in in the in the boundary and you got your wide receivers lined up as your your Y and your H back tight on the line of scrimmage you know not in the three-point stands but the for you know you you got a unbalanced stat said you know these are the type of things we're going to see with this staff all because it's going to be able to create different looks for the Run game yeah I you know different looks uh one of the things I know watching WKU they a pressure team they like to Brak pressure you said it earlier in the show segment uh and we got to slow that down and so that's why I say big time that uh we're going to see some some some uh crossers some shallows the tight we going to see that line you know that way we could we could get our run game and create some space right there you know exactly if they're really trying to get a milro space uh I don't think they gonna play a lot of man because against a guy like milro you don't want to do that cut Thro so I think a whole Playbook is in play here against those guys but I do think we really want to understand how our old line coming around first off the gate and a team like this is going to really help us because they're going to allow the communication to be at a maximum kind of deal because they gonna be bringing the different pressures we got to make sure that our protections and our pass Pro is good this is a good team out the gate to help us see if that cohesiveness and chemistry is there especially if we gonna be rotating formly and PR it on the right side yeah and that's a that's a report I was not happy to hear that's that's a report I was not happy to hear here um I feel like forb has has solidified himself just by my evaluation and and that's no slide against per but I think this first two weeks um you definitely want your first three or four drives to be the same Five Guys you know um and that's just that's just for chemistry that's just for ingame reps especially with a talent like wilen for me somebody that um you know kind of has was has been under the radar up until this past spring um got overshadowed by Kaden Proctor a lot last year but truly truthfully speaking we would have got similar if not better results from wilin forby had he been the starter um true freshman starter last year in my opinion yeah yeah he has a massive frame coach I mean that guy has everything it takes to be an excellent right tackler I mean he's big he got long arms you know he's added some bul and strength yes that's the main thing I didn't think he would Shape Up to be like that that that type of bulky frame I always saw him you know kind of fluffy and and you know not soft looking but he wasn't intimidated looking type but you look at him now he's starting to fit the M starting to starting to transition he ain't Jaden Roberts like yet but he's getting there right you know you know he's gonna be like Jaden speaking but I like I like his mentality man you know him and Jaden kind to me kind of pair kind of nice because both of guys finishing them blocks that was through us and uh on the right side that's what we want we want to be able to Cave you down you know when we running our counters and our p and pools we want really want to be able to mash you yes I think that that's we gonna see a lot in that because one two that kind of helps us with what we like to do in our offense you know we like to we like to have a lot of movement up front which kind of slows down the penetration we can do everything else we want you know so uh the first dve the first out the gate this game against team like West Kentucky with experienced player well coached they solid man you said it right yes one of the one one of the you know one of the tripa said it right too uh this game's gonna be a nice look look at what happened to Colorado last night you know North Dakota State got them on their heels okay uh and they got into that book they got into a rhythm of play calling they were giv Colorado spit up front and caught that I caught that game just like it was man because that's a that's an established culture there at North Dakota State same at Western Kentucky man they they know how to win at their level that's what they do so if you're a team at the power five level that's supposed to be dominant and you allow them a space to play their game that's what they're going to do best it's hard to stop anybody in their game they may not do it at a high rate like you they may not score 60 points a game but if they could slow the game down and average 24 points a game and and cut a 10 possession game down to six and you're used to playing 10 possessions they they they have the advantage and that's what almost happened in Colorado last night that's right that's right well you know you know talking offense coach you know know we I'm really truly excited about our team this year because I know we're GNA see a lot of a lot of balance for one yes but a lot of variety okay uh you know last year we didn't know have a clue of how to set stuff up you know it was inconsistent at best to try to feature certain players and things so you know I'm gonna Force WKU to take away joury I'm force them to take him away and then what that's gonna do that's go Kobe gonna kill him yeah okay yeah K La G feel then I'm bring I'm bring the freshman and just gash them deep that's going to get the crowd so you believe coach Al before before we jump into to Breaking that down I need to hear your take on on on this wide receiver group um as far as the the amount of talent the depth of talent there um and and what do you see because me personally and I'm G say this I'm G say this proudly as a wide receiver um as a coach that that that develops wide receivers as a player that played the position um as a offensive minded Personnel I think this wide receiver group is going to be limited these first three weeks because of how much depth we're going to allow to get on the field and touch the field at the wide receiver position and and when I say limited I'm not saying I'm not saying we won't have a a a 400 yard passing games or anything like that but we won't see one guy really break out everybody's going to shine these first three weeks I guarantee you everybody's going to have moments that you can't really just pinpoint one and then we we will see a solid seven man rotation from the Georgia game on out throughout the season and we'll see that seven man rotation adjust but ing game rotation you will see seven guys have 15 16 plus reps on the offensive side uh as in that wide receiver room that's just my my my solid take on it but let me hear some of what you your thoughts on that coach Al no spot on man spot on because a lot of that you know just like we talk all the time you know you good at what you rep okay and uh and Coach step has been getting these guys with a ton of volume and practiceing rep okay so to me if we could throw out you know six seven guys you know uh you know Caleb odm you know eeman klaw you know the usual suspect even Rico um if we get those guys on the field the first three games you know coming in Georgia they're not going to know who to see in okay you I mean now that to me that play up to our not to mention here the big it's a long season you know the longest season we've ever going to have on college football so roster management is going to be key you know that's why I'm not a defense uh oh we lost coach Al let me let me get him back on the line y'all let me get coach Al back on the line y'all we'll get them back on the line give me a second coach you there okay I'm back I'm not sure what happened it just dropped yeah I don't know like I was saying roster management is gonna be key yeah I'm here yeah I'm here yeah you good coach yeah I'm here coach sorry I had turn had to go back on mute there on on the screen but yeah Ro the management because I'm not a defensive guy but I love the idea that we're gonna be rotating you know eight nine guys on the defensive front Okay um because of the of the longevity and we're playing in the SEC all right so offensively speaking that's why I like to see that uh coach cap is going to be developing some o line guys that can actually play the oh my God I'm excited to see that that that's a that's a topic that I think we can discuss I wait all wait go ahead keep going goad you know we can talk we topping it up right now nobody but and you right and but no this is what the people want because if you look at the chat and I'm looking at the chat now just to give the chat uh to a chance to interject in the conversation because that's what we want to do Triple A family I want y'all to have a chance to interject so if you're watching on Twitter you're watch it on YouTube or Facebook and you're listening to the conversation and you want to interject I'm I'm marking comments in the background so I could go back through him and Coach Alice is going to be a featured personality here on the coach network uh coach smot network um this is going to be something regular that y'all get to hear his insight and as you can hear as you listen to him talk you just hear the wealth the knowledge of of it just common sense but also the talk the lingo of of college not college football but football in general Football Talk coach talk and that's why I love having them on so um we jump in the comments though Al my guy Tim he's been very active in the chat and bring some good comments he saying I'm wanted to see Rico Scott and Caleb OD Ryan Williams is the allar I feel so I'm expecting greatness from him I'm intrigued to see those two in action um Rico Scott Caleb Odum you exactly right for me I think those two even though they're not going to get the attention that Ryan Williams will will will get these two will be more effective than Ryan Williams I saw a a a a a a a a a drive Rico Scott with first group there is no drop off there's no honestly and I'm G tell you this coach Sanders um last year we had I had like a top four receivers that I would just talk about this year and I mean across the board x y z if you want to call Y the slot the Y X slot Z across the board I feel like this staff height frame none of that matters you could put any guy in that wide receiver room at any position they're top 11 guys and you you're probably going to have one of the top wide receiver thre man receiver CES on the field in the country On Any Given Saturday that's how confident I am in the talent in this wide receiver room that's fact that's fact you know one of the things we used to do and you know this as well as a receiver and that's what made the ride out so good you know uh you know you could be playing the X the Z or the H or whatever and form say say we was in in a in a in a uh trips left close and what that means is that we got three we got three right tight end tight on the other side trips right close or and we put the Z in motion so now we got a 2 by two situation okay so if we in a play call that's uh like a drive concept or spacing kind of concept y that the ball's going to go to the you know we can plug these guys into any position they G to know the concept and the routes to take advantage of the matchup that's how coach Chef is coaching these guys that's why I say we gonna see a return to the ride outs because there's a dog mentality that hey look I don't care where I am I'm gonna run the route even if the ball's not coming to me I'm running a route 100% just to give the look to the defense and though we not taking plays off so Rico and Taylor they have a body type that allows them to be physical in the passing game and I think get them in the game early to get the Jitters out you know and let them block get get go bust somebody in their mouth I mean for the for the first three minutes and I feel like I'm telling you kin dbor understands that man go look at Washington last year go look at Washington go look at Washington two years ago look at look at look look at Fresno States first year under kayin the boor during the co season they ran the ball so effectively right that's right 100% like I really I I'm scared for college football there's this misconception that mainstream media Greg Maly all these other guys that that get that get paid the big dollars to do exactly what I'm doing share their opinion right they get paid the big dollars to do this man they they played the game at a certain level I've played the game at a certain level there's there's multiple understanding and interpretations of the game but some stuff that they're allowing to be said and to be be projected about what this offense under kayin the boort is going to look like with this Personnel that he has available coach coach Al I'm I'm going to say this and then we'll we'll start breaking down the actual game uh offensively give our predictions and then we'll open up the phone lines for our first quarter I mean our second quarter calling segment um but coach I I'm telling you right now I'm prepared to say this about this offense this year we will see I don't think I don't even think Nick Sheridan and kayln dor have a good idea of what they're going to do but I know for a fact they know there's a lot that they can do and when you have situ situations like this and I'm speaking realistically as a coach that's had the the super athletes at wide receivers the the the great arm at quarterback the the great running backs the the the the old line does just enough to get the ball off you know like perfect perfect scenario perfect setup to do quick game all of that we had that Personnel my first year ahead as a as a wide receiver coach so I remember having to make those adjustments I'm prepared to say this doing too much too early can get you in trouble and this team might have that effect on the likes of a young offensive coordinator and Nick Sheran in this Spotlight will he try to do too much and we might we might like it it might look good but will it be effective that's the only worry that's the only real worry being good is not the worry what we try to do to be good is my worry with this offense that's right yeah you want one thing I would say this uh you're right you know I mean this guy has like a kid in the candy store with everything he has in his fingertips right it's gonna be hard not to over Coach you know uh but one thing I'm this the way I answer I have what I call a theory of nothing okay it does for okay and I tell my players this all the time when I was coaching man that we leave nothing a chance we leave nothing on the field we give the opponent nothing okay yeah when they walk off the field they know they have got nothing against so the theory of nothing is everything that's what I tell my players so what does that mean that means that I want to come downhill on you out the gate and let you know you're going to be getting this all day yeah so if it if I'm telling Nick Cherry we at home this is your first game coach to board coaching Alabama all the hype is there you really want to show people that we gonna move the line of scrimmage every time we want to and how we want to on both sides of the ball and that way you can set everything's in the Playbook up all the play actions there all the all ball you know all all the Deep overs everything you want all the counters it's all there but one thing to serve when the ball is snapped you know we gonna put that face mask right in your grill yes sir every single time okay so that that's who we talking to right now yeah I'm Shar and if I'm into his coach look don't get cute don't give these guys nothing don't give don't give them nothing you know what I want to see coach Al I want to see a red zone formation with the red zone play I want to see a goal line formation with a goal line play if you're going to pass it out at the goal line line up in a goal line formation a heavy formation run your play action rub Concepts all of that stuff if you want to do a ISO on set create spacing to do your ISO out on the perimeter yeah don't give me four wide at the five yard line and allow the defense to take up space please don't do that no more don't even give me trip sets don't none of that we want we want we want 22 personnel yeah yeah yeah and and that's what we want you got the athleticism in in the W in the tight end room if you if you want to shift into a split get one of your Titans one onone and that's what Kaylin dor does that's what Nick Sheridan understands I think we're going to see a lot of it Richard young is gonna be a go line hammer for oh oh my God oh my God I can't wait I can't wait all right so look here go ahead go ahead go ahead yeah you know he he he uh he's Josh Jacobs he's the third guy he's the third guy that got overlooked who's probably the best know Jos Jac came in on the radar and Kenyan and all them guys were there and Josh Z you know he was just a guy he had that dog in facts I see that in young facts him I mean we got a few of them on that side of the ball Richard young uh Kendrick law is another one that I just feel like leads with that tenacity then then on that old line man I'm telling y'all everybody's been talking about um Tyler Booker you know he's the vocal one and and Jaden Roberts but uh Parker Brer got a Mean Streak about him yes sir I don't know I don't know if it's the Bama air I don't know if it's being at Bama being around the competition being accepted the way he was accepted being pushed the way he was pushed but his his energy that that nasty uh Center like Landon Dickerson that that type of you know is getting mixed up into something if he getting a holding call Le a good holding call that's the type of energy uh Parker bford is bringing and y'all when you have that type of energy in those rooms spread out like that you got a composed quarterback that knows what he brings to the table this this is pois to be a dangerous offense jumping into the the last part of our conversation coach Al as we wrapped this this up um let's let's get some predictions in offensive MVP for you go for it h coach you would ask me come on now the obious the obvious choice is is Jaylen but let's let's say that is not thing let's speculate let's speculate yeah yeah yeah the guy the guy I I really want to see uh be the offensive MVP is a kid that uh was in a program while I was coaching over here and we know who that is that's 22 yes okay I I want I want 22 to really come out and show America who he is uh because the kids just he got the whole tool kit in the Bel you know uh I really want to show he show he got he he has speed he can make you miss in the hole he got great hands tough he stent in the game he got the whole package so I really hope that Justice H uh becomes the the character of this offense that we gonna run the football yes and you can't so aside from jayen you know winning the game the quarterback has to pull the trigger as he's like say he point my guy would be Justin yeah and uh one a is Parker BR okay I want him to show everybody that uh if I can control the center of the field then you gonna have a long day on defense yes okay so right up the middle straight up the middle strong with the center the quarterback and the running back that's me okay all right all right all right now we now we're going to not just offensive MVP let's let's get into the positions um give me give me give me your your star out of the wide receiver room and the numbers all right uh Kobe Prince jumps out to me because I think that uh initially up front we'll Target uh Bernard a lot of time Fus got a shift you can't man him up then Kobe just gonna run W I think he'll have five catches easy okay you know yeah easy uh and then Bernard is going to be the other guy kendri law is another guy okay uh I think he got big playability uh but my second guy would be after uh justice okay I look he's that guy he came in as a freshman he know how to play and he's underrated with his speed lot people real how fast Kobe Prince is I had some qus man man listen um Kobe Prince uh the rumor is clocked in a 4398 this past this past this past spring I mean this past off season 4398 jayen Bak 434 Jaylen Miro 438 yeah you have 41 players on this Alabama roster that top out at 20 plus miles per hour or faster 41 that means that means that means and I I did the math the other night coach Al that means at any given time on the field the the you have 11 positions on the field five six out of those positions on the field aren't lineman on the offensive side that means six people on that that side of the ball can either can at at any given point in time can have the speed a 44 speed or faster with this Alabama team wow that that that is that is something to Marvel upon I mean even game game speed 45 sub four five game speed is fast that's nuts man you get what I'm saying and Alabama has 41 of these kids of these young men on their roster at their disposal and you're telling me all we need to do is give them three give give the quarterback three seconds to deliver the ball to them now speaking on that point fol of giving him three seconds to me I hope that the the equipment manager who has the most boring job after the game is the guy watching the uniform and I hope Jayla Mir Rose uniform is the cleanest one on the cleanest one okay meaning that the old line ain't gonna let him see the guy looking up okay protect this guy to be so counter to what we saw last year one get the ball out on time yes two we got our protections down which really I want to see wi forby do his thing out there on right tackle because we know everybody yes sir but keep this guy upright so that's that's one of the Nuance things that me and you talk about Offline that fans gota understand if M Rose clean we had an excellent day facts and and and then mirro has to help itself too we Miro has to definitely help himself too um last year it was a few times where the offensive line actually looked great and he just held the ball too long so we we hopefully we we see those improvements jumping back into it though coach Al tight end room I feel like this is going to be a a a a Resurrection season for our tight ends um Saturday who who who shines out of that room um and what shines for that room is it going to be the blocking or is it how how they're used in the past game um uh what what do you think is going to be highlighted because this person shines in that tight end room it's gota be CJ uh we gotta showcase him CJ has excellent hands he's a big guy in space when you get the ball to him know little DB G want to tackle guy like that and because this team likes to bring pressure uh uh the middle gonna be wide open TI you know what I mean and so jayen go to know that and the ball's got to come out quick he gota he gotta re and receivers in the tight end got to read the high everybody gota be on the same Pace right so uh I think CJ is goingon to have an outand awesome that's typical of what what what coach the like do awesome awesome and we don't really have to talk quarterbacks well we will we will we'll uh we'll we'll we'll talk quarterbacks at the end offensive line group and I think I think me and you are on the same page with this book and forby is is the presumed starter that's that's what the nod is right now book and for is the starter I want to see where he at where he's at um playing against other competition because he looks solid against our talented defensive line and and even last year the snaps he got last year I didn't I don't see a weakness didn't see a weakness um with him playing and people forget bookin played some left tackle last year in in in mop-up Duty and he played some right tackle in mup Duty and and was effective on both sides so I can't wait to see him as the solidified starter I'm excited to see him I think he's going to take his opportunity with this level competition and showcase his ability to to dissect the pressures especially coming from the edge that strong side edge jayen strong side um he's going to Showcase his ability to not just do the physical things the aspects of being a solid offensive tackle getting out of his stance you know his kick slide being quick and being able to cover and and have the patience to to know when to sit you know when to absorb when when the attack when the push so I I can't wait to see if those things are displayed against the likes of a Western Kentucky team that should provide an athletic Edge I can't remember the young man's name that that should be lining up over wilin um but he had some previous college ball I want to say at uh oh man G guy and his name is gri uh you know I think is it g g ke keine gri G yes yes that that's exactly who I'm talking about and this is this is a speed Edge Guy this is a speed Edge guy I'm pretty sure they're going to allow try to to get him in mismatches or get him in in matches where he can be one-onone with forby um will we see some of the things we saw from Kaden last year in his first starts um where you know feet were just too slow the game speed kind of just was too much you know the controlled environment not being in that controlled environment was definitely an exposure thing for Kaden early in his his development will we see the same wil I don't think so I think this is this is the guy that's prepared new staff new scheme play Callin is different these guys are confident um but that's my pick for the o line what about you coach Al yeah yeah one of the things I the defensive coordinator for WKU should attack our edges because we all know that we're very solid up the middle yes and we know that we know that tayton had problems with speed guys last year uh some of that was technique some of he was overweight some that experience all of the above so if defensively if I'm them you know I'm going to put speed guys early I'm gonna run some DT some twist take care of speed guys to test my tackles up front so we should expect that early okay which means that the protections that bford and and jayen see up front you know we gonna have to do some split split movement kind of stuff kick the center out to the edge you know how that stuff goes uh but we'll see how that works we won't get into all of that old line offensive tackles early on can they hold up to a speed rush not a power rush but a speed rush and if we could do that then that means that coach Captain coach these guys up the right way and we got something pretty special on front that's what's up coach Allan and last but not least before we talk about the quarterback the running back room man we talked about it a little bit earlier give me your pick I I kind of leave that to you I know that's that's like that's right down your man break down his running back room and if you can pick a star for tomorrow because if I had to pick I don't think we see one tomorrow I don't I don't I don't think we really see one I think Justice Haynes gets the beneficiary of being the like you said being the MVP because we might see a lot of Red Zone scores and we're going to see how effective he is but I think when you talk about overall production we might see like identical numbers with three guys you know we might see three we might see three guys with 85 87 81 one TouchDown for for Rich one TouchDown for Jam two touchdowns for for justice you know like that's the type of stats I think we might see from this running back room tomorrow yeah well when you look at yeah I agree with that too because if you look at the total Play Count you know if we running say 90 plays okay and we got 5050 split and pass and run okay uh that's roughly you know 40 50 touches on the round you know uh so that's going to be enough to go around but what I really like to see tomorrow and I know it's going to happen we going to see J Miller out the back field he's good catching the ball out the back field you you'll see him on a lot of Texas routes some wheel routes and stuff like that you'll see Jam do that on some check and release kind of stuff and and nro checking it down so I I I see him featured in that way uh all our backs particularly Jam because he had a lot of success with it last year so I totally agree with you all facts that uh the wealth is going to be spread around tomorrow because I think all three of the guys are top guys I think they've earned it um on the Intel that was getting they've earned it to get touches a meaningful snap early in the game uh just to get into that wi because Coach G right has got to get a rhythm of who's hot who's doing this who you know who's picking up pass Pro all of that with those guys if they're interchangeable all better for us right you know everybody yeah so yeah I jayen midro and Ty Simpson if Ty Simpson gets an opportunity to Le first team defense to their first points of the Season there will be some quarterback controversy going into week two I don't care what nobody has to say about it that's how solid this quarterback that's how confident this staff is in this quarterback room jayen Miro great guy great great fan favorite all of that stuff very all of that but he has to come out tomorrow he doesn't have time to to get by just because it's West Western Kentucky this is not this is not saving error we're not just getting by with the offense this is the coach his offense is his baby he wants to see it he wants to see it executed at a high level and I I know he loves jayen Miro kayin the board I know Nick Shar and they love this kid if Jaya Miro cannot come out and get it done effectively and I'm talking about a 70% completion rate 70 plus tomorrow and I mean scores your your scoring drives your drivve scored you need you need you need more than 80% of your drives to be scoring drives whether that's three or six preferably six yeah yeah you're right Jaylen has to come out tomorrow and show he has complete Command all you know I mean now we got help and Communications you know we can get into a whole different discussion as how the Dynamics going to happen with what happened between the coaches the calls and what happened on the field but he's been getting the number one reps and uh all reports that show that he's got command he's he's he's doing everything he needs to do right I ain't taking nothing away from TY Simpson Man In fact when Nick SV first came to Alabama he was recruiting every position at a high level and we had game bandages at quarterback yeah okay he said ultimately he wanted the quarterback position to be as difficult a competition it was be who going to be the starting running back quarterback yep now we that everybody's upset about I'm going what is wrong with you people the best I want the best guy listen man I coach quarterback man and I'm tell him the number two guy he's in my hip pocket the whole game and you know between the saying what are you saying what are you I want to make sure he's in the game CA you know what coach how many how many times have we seen it where if that number one guy goes down it it demolishes your season oh I got to answer for you Florida State that's right talk about it what happened look at North Carolina last night last night look at him I mean but but you know what's crazy a lot of people can't honestly say they have Alabama's problem that if Jaya mirro goes down with the injury doesn't perform well doesn't do something effective that they can throw out their second string guy and he can has the same opportunity to create just as much production if not more don't sleep on T don't that's that's all I'm saying do not sleep on do not sleep on this staff and people have been been criticizing me oh you been a so Jaya mirro I still am but I they don't take away the fact that if this young man cannot take the next step as his first year starter I could Co I could sympathize with with that just like if Ty Simpson was to assume the job this year and be a first year starter I could empathize with some of the mistakes you can expect from a first year Gunslinger in this type of offense we're going to see his growing pains too he's going to have interest if Tai Simpson starts and ends up taking over and I'm not saying this is this is gonna happen chat if Tai Simpson takes over we're gonna have a lot of interceptions this year into the show man let's jump back into the conversation we're talking Alabama defense going into this Western Kentucky game we talked about our offense versus Western Kentucky defense we heard coach Al shout out to coach Al for calling in and giving his insight and his perspective very insightful on what we can expect to look for kind of kind of gave y'all a broad take on it because he's going to be joining the show the live game simulation tonight but but um we're going to jump into this conversation about our defenses our defenses special teams versus Western kuy's offense and and what they bring to the table right and and and how we're going to possibly see our team defend against this W Western Kentucky offense how we see our team defend against this Western Kentucky offense as I look at this roster coach I highlighted something that I I I I highlighted also in my first initial take and we're talking about the the amount of senior veteran not necessarily senior but veteran player and presence for the the Western Kentucky Hill Toppers you look at that you look at this roster right here and I'm going go ahead and pull it up I'm going go ahead and pull it up I'm going share this screen right here I'm going share the projected je depth chart of the West Kentucky Hill Toppers football program for this weekend and they run a air raid system you're going to see four wise they're going to have two slots on the field they're they're going to very rarely run a tight end out there their running back is going to be out there right they're going to split their tight end a lot you see a a 12 man lineup right a 12-man lineup on this depth chart but this is just showing you that Personnel right this is that show you a Personnel not necessarily what personnel grouping they're going to come out in first but you look at this you look at this lineup and I'm going to get this Banner off the screen um and if you're calling in the phone lines not open yet I can hear the buzz in the background if you calling in wait we we haven't opened the phone line yet you're just going to keep getting voicemail so just wait until we see the banner on the screen and then um you'll get the call in you get we'll get the call-in segment started let me adjust something this why I need a producer y'all who trying to jump on board third quarter all right so right now you're going to get dial we we reach our 50 likes Mark too 50 likes we're looking for 50 likes here on YouTube I look at this roster dvin Smith Coy Moore Michael mat Eon Messer these two slot receivers are guys that were severely underused at their pre uh previous destinations do not be surprised if they uh present some some some adversity for our young secondary our young secondary players but not necessarily our young players but the scheme that we're running in the secondary now if we don't see any type of of resistance or type of adversity that gives me confidence being that this is a defensive scheme on the back end that most of these players are familiar with because this is something that's familiarized and that's taught across some of your more extensive High school programs when it comes to having our freshman coached up and ready for the college level as far as trans translating to the defensive side right but when you have college players like Keon Sab Deshawn Jones King Mack transferring in the Mony Jackson transferring in and these are guys who are skill set DBS skill set corners and safeties that that specialize in ball play coverage right run support this defensive scheme fits perfectly and when you have four you you're not able to highlight those skill sets and you you have to rely on your coverage more so we're going to see if these skill cover guys that we went and got in the secondary as far as our freshman recruiting uh recruits that we brought in this class and the guys that we went and got in the transfer portter we're going to see early on in the season with this West Kentucky offense what they present schematically can guys stay in phe can guys know when to allow cushions to be pressed or can guys you know uh uh honor their cushions and be remain in Phase will guys be looking back trying to find the ball when it's in the air because this is a air rid offense what we get to see that looking at this lineup they they have some some veteran guys that's going to probably pres because of their their amount of time at the Collegiate level whether they had a lot of snaps or not they're at the Collegiate level they understand what the speed of the game looks like right so for that reason I think there there there offense in the passing game gives us an opportunity but their offensive line these are guys that have struggled Western ky's offensive line was one of the least efficient in the nation last year I think they were uh you know as as bad as Alabama was I think we were Alabama was like number 92 somebody find me the stats in the chat somebody find me the stats where was our offensive uh what was our QB sack I think weren we rank like 106 in the nation and Western Kentucky was 117 117 so I think I think it's time to really show show case if if if if there was a time for our defensive line to have an advantage or to to have and this is a new a new look offensive line compared to last year they switched some things around no only one returning starter which is their uh left guard the senior quavius but he wasn't a starter to start last season against uh at Western Kentucky he didn't start at the beginning of the season last year so their offensive line is kind of look going to be if you watch the Colorado game last night you see how you see that there's no continuity there there's still some chemistry things need to be worked out they won the game but their offensive line looked horrible against the North Dakota State defensive line that doesn't necessarily have the talent but the scheme presented problems and I think that's what Kan wck and this style of defense is going to do against this offensive line um and then the quarter uh the running back room young Talent not not nothing buzzing nothing that nobody I've heard of um but I know uh Elijah young the transfer I forget where he came from but um that that that was an announcement made when he transferred to um to Western Kentucky let me see he came from Missouri I knew the name sounded familiar for some reason but he came from Missouri oh yeah because they were bragging about having a sec back on the roster so him coming in with that type of experience can be huge can be huge for Western Kentucky going into this game can he be a reliable resource to pull some pressure off of TJ uh Finley is something to be remain to see will he Force us to commit extra resources outside of the four or five men that we want to commit in the Box truly commit in the Box will he will they will he present an opportunity to to force us to reinforce that right is yet to be heard but breaking down the quarterback position TJ Finley um kayen camp both of these guys um neither one of them is ready for Alabama I'm sorry I don't have nothing good to say TJ Finley is a is a tough guy that's about all I can say his accuracy has always been a thing that I have not liked um it's kind of it's kind of one of those things where when when he and Auburn played Us close that year I knew it was a coaching failure not for not not not not a player failure that was a coaching failure during those games where TJ Finley gave Alabama problems and I can't wait to see Kane WC dial up the pressures against quarterbacks that he will set us up on how we he will give us a good look of how Kane wck plans to play Future quarterback builds that that match this this build this type of quarterback this style of quarterback a quarterback that can hurt you with their legs and can let the ball go if you give them time right so K wck has a chance to Showcase how he wants to play these guys what type of stunts what type of stunts are we going to see what type of stunts are we going to see hey uh if y'all see the chat on Facebook uh don't ignore that that's a talked about Western ky's Personnel let's talk about our Personnel y'all know the defensive line room is where I want to start I want to start in the trenches talking about how deep we are and then we're going to take three more minutes to talk about this and then I'm GNA open the phone lines up and we're going to be in our third quarter calling segment and then the fourth quarter calling segment I want y'all to bring the heat fourth quarter man it's the last calling segment before we kick off bring the heat today let me pull this roster up pull his dep chart up and we haven't put kayin deor said they won't be putting out an official depth chart last I was told and informed we they will not be putting out a um an official depth chart so this is what we can go off of and this is basically the one we created um our is is is coinciding with our thoughts with with what they think as far as the the starting lineup for this first game will be against the West Kentucky um Hill Toppers uh defensively let me go to the defense let me go to the defense all right so looking here and we're looking just too deep for just just for just for purposes uh too deep everywhere else but the D line and when you look at the D line you you look at those three down lineman everybody talks about this being a 425 scheme but I'm telling you this is a 34 nickel scheme personel wise it lines up with what what what three four is you got three true linen that down linan on the field as your base formation you're going to have three linebackers on the field and you're going to have 5 DBS or you going to have a hybrid linebacker uh or or or strong safety on the field that's going to act as your your your fourth linebacker and your fifth DB all in the same sense that's what this the 425 the 34 nickel consist of our base Personnel set so I forget who it was in the chat I think it was Tim or somebody was talking about you know um let me see I I start the comment let me see let me see please do a dline depth chart depth is a concern but but talented too deep for sure for the dline I think we're more talented in the dline than most of the country I look at the dline not position not the position Bandit knows tackle defensive tackle because truthfully and honestly you can line these three three guys up right now that first three first three group you can line jum up as your nose tackle you could line Tim Keenan up as a big defensive end and you could you could line Tim Smith up as your defensive tackle right or you can go heavy you can go heavy you can go heavy with this lineup and bring and bring Jem Otis as your Bandit leave Tim Keenan as your no tackle and Tim Smith as your as your defensive tackle or bring in Damon Payne as your heavy defensive tackle and the second lineup of your heavy your second rotation of that lineup gets a little bit lighter but you got the same caliber same an anatomical makeup of style of player replacing those guys in edric Hill James Smith Damon Payne Jordan Renard Hunter Osborne Jeremiah Bean all of these guys are big interior defensive lineman exterior defensive lineman I mean interior defensive lineman and and and uh true end frame guys that could come on your dline and man those D tackle and and and those tackle and banded positions and the the thing about the Bandit position you got big defensive ends and jam and elt overin and Keon Keeley who you don't necessarily want playing interior but they're big edges that can play The Edge they they can play Big Edge but they can also stand up and give you a speed pass rush with the personnel that's that's what we're going to see so right now with our with our with our dline rotation I don't want y'all let let's just let's just hone in on the dline right now I got two more minutes to kind of wrap this up dline at any point in time the front three based off the front based off the Personnel on the on the offensive side so for this game I I see a lot of traditional three-man front from my D front r d line and and I I see it being a lot of your traditional Bandit out there your big Bandits right that's why it's the big ends the b stands for big in defensive end right going to play a lot of your true defensive end technique Jam LT over and Keon key we could see a healthy rotation of that jam and LT do a majority of the split splitting probably 60% uh uh splitting 80% of the Reps amongst each other and then Keon key getting a 10% and then uh Jordan getting 10% that interior rotation though I wouldn't be surprised if this was like a 60 60 2020 split for both interior positions getting getting a ninan rotation on the defensive front is is the key to the success of this defense looking at the wolf position which is going to be like your Edge rushing linebacker SL defensive end in this scheme right looking at Q Rob Kiana Co Quay rousa jzi Pierre those guys will be a healthy dose rotation now what I don't want y'all to be confused by is when you see these two on the field when you see two of these guys from the wolf position on the field at the same time because there will be plenty of times especially in pass rush situations where you will have maybe a defensive in and a defensive tackle as your two down lineman and you split your end you wide nine your your Bandit and when you wide n and you bring in another wolf to play that side we have wolf Personnel that are capable of Manning that big end position providing a pass rush or coverage and sealing the edge in the Run game Run fitting from the end position so it will not be crazy to see the likes of uh um uh Kiana Co and quay rousa on opposite ends of of the defensive line offensive line uh pressuring The Edge it will not be crazy to see that on Third and passing cuz those those two are pass rush Specialists and they can cover downfield looking at looking at your inside line back rotation we're going to see a healthy rotation of of Jefferson Lawson and Campbell I guarantee you Alexander will get will get spot reps he will get spot reps goal line special formations special looks run run run run heavy teams we'll see a lot of Alexander and then we'll see a lot of our young guys this week too Sterling Dixon Justin o uh QB Reese I feel like he going to get an opportunity to see the field on on special teams this year him and Kaden Jones speed guys at that linebacker position second this is where I believe we going to see a lot of different looks I don't even to talk about the dep chart with the secondary I feel like based off of what personnel grouping are thrown out and what's what's what's uh what's examined or um what what what's the word I'm looking for with the coaching staff what's assessed through the first three drives will determine what type of rotation we see but I think we see a solid seven-man rotation in the secondary um and and I think zavan Brown will be our starting corner on on the uh on on the play side not play side on the strong side of of the formation I think he will be your strong side corner he will he will be your your your corner to the field to the boundary I mean and then the the iso corner to the field will be I think will be deoni Jackson um the slot corner I think desan Jones fits into that that that spot when you have dime set and you need the slot corner to come in not your overover your slot corner so that's where his his steady if I'm calling a depth chart position that's where Deshawn Jones comes in at for me being that slot corner and Rover I think our our our solid Rover in this formation is Keon Sav your husky position is red Morgan and Devonte Smith that rotation is going to be consistent and free safety Malachi more and and I think I think I honestly think that the the got this one wrong I don't think cam Howard is the second um free safety in this rotation King Mack and his speed at free safety and the way he supports the Run game I think King Mack will be slotted as the second guy when we go dime look I think King Mack will be our second free safety up there so that's the that's the lineup how they look what they what they're going to look like against your thoughts man we jumping into the conversation bro Alabama kickoff tomorrow 6 PM Central Standard time I will be in T toown I'll be next to the stadium I won't be in the stadium but I be I'm I'm gon be able to feel that mud because I'm GNA be right there on the grounds next to it ready to bring out a postgame show after the game but man your thoughts on the defense man and for again thank you for calling in my guy yeah man you know I was I'm hoping that I can make it down there you know I'm in South hunsville but um we'll see what God has for me but my thoughts um are this with the questions in the secondary you know with the youth and and the new uh uh scheme and everything I really think that number one this defensive line is being overlooked Nationwide um we're going to pressure the Back Field like I don't think we've seen in a long time in Alabama um with the speed that we have people don't you know it's been brought up that we have twice as much you know I guess they're they're calling it 20 M hour Runners oh yeah that's why that's why I was highlighting last uh before we came into this segment 41 players on this roster of 85 scholarship players run 20 plus miles per hour if you take away 25 of those 26 of those being offensive and defensive lineman you're saying that 80% of your rockers 70 74% of your roster runs 20 miles per hour or faster right so you know what I feel like is is going to happen here because because with Sab we had that two Gap scheme so a lot of times the defensive lineman would have to to to kind of just hold the point with with what we have now we got the five DBS back there so you're going to have six you know players that that at any time are going to go towards the quarterback and you never know where they're going to come from and so it's going to be a a mind game that we're going to be playing on these quarterbacks and and it's going to be the pressure we're going be putting on these quarterback is going to take that pressure off of the defensive backs 100% linebackers in in in the line and the lineman are going to take that pressure off the defensive back and cause turnovers too um and while I got you on on the line I know we're talking about the defense against their offense but with our offense I really really see um just in general this offense is is is going to be a perimeter attack offense um that that's going to just kind of low them to sleep like like the Alabama of old used to do with with running the ball to set up the pass we going to see a lot of perimeter attacks to get the quarterback in rhythm with the wide receivers and they're going to sit there and they're going to start moving everything around to try to block the edges and then you're going to see these these tosses across the middle to the tight ends you're going to see the Deep you know you set up in little uh the trips on one side and you're going to throw the toss out and then you're going to see one of them wide receivers go deep and and throw the Deep ball it's gonna be set up the perimeter to set up the Deep ball and it's going to be on both sides of the ball it's going to be it's GNA be crazy I'm expecting 40 and a half points a game uh you know 45 points a game and probably defense is gonna give up you know less than 15 this year it's it's going to be let's put it this way the nation ain't going to like Alabama this year again I I I I want to bring a topic up you said something that I'm I'm going to kind of disagree with and and this is this is just this is just my assessment during my time watching the the the foundational setting of this transition under Sheridan under under coach Kaylin dbor under Shephard and I'm I'm I'm I'mma tell everybody this and I've been saying this I've been saying this take after take do not be surprised if Alabama identity offensive wise is based off of the inside Zone Run game I want you all I want you all before before y'all say what you think we're not no we're going to pass the ball there will be 25 27 pass attempts per game you know 40 40 on a on a on a on a tough game you know where we're where we're out there extra drives we're not scoring you know seven eight consecutive drives before we die you but back to my my my thoughts on this this scheme and how it's going to be called the style of of how the identity we're going to establish the inside Z Run game is a coach cap specialty coach CAPIC the offensive line coach if you look at the interior of our offensive line one deep and to deep that is the most probably the the most solid Personnel on the offensive side of the ball the interior part of our our our offensive line Parker bford Jaden Roberts Tyler Booker three of your strongest in that room but also three of your most experien and they're three of your most highly rated offensive lineman in the country right now so if I'm Kaylin debor and if I'm Nick Sheridan to make it easy on a growing Kaden Proctor who just got back we don't know what his his his continued trajectory is going to be ended last season very solid don't know what it I feel like it's going to get better but you got a a growing rook in form who he feel like it's ready but there's no need to put any pressure on him I guarantee you this inside counter read zone game this inside Run game will be how this staff this year maybe not going forward but this year especially using jaylen's legs being implemented the amount of runningbacks we have available inside Run game will be the basis of this offense because of high effective it will be and that's what's going to make it in entail it it's what's going to make it easier for the pass game to be effective and developed so that you can get out in Space the crossers the hitches the quick screens the extension of the Run games it's going to be based off watch how easy watch how early and often this staff relies on the inside Run game that's that was one point I was gonna bring up too is is we ain't necessarily got to have a running back because we have a running back at quarterback and it that is going like the the the multiple ways that this offense is going to attack people is going to be so deadly that you have no idea which weapon they're going to use and and that's one thing people's talking about you know you I went looked it up you know kayin B's offenses now they've only averaged in between like 130 to 150 yards a game uh you know for the last four years at the Fresno State in Washington but this year because you know pennet wasn't really that a running quarterback now he wasn't he he has a running quarterback he has a quarterback that's built to take the hits and even if T Simpson goes in you know you know he's not built like jayen but he has some speed I mean if he wouldn't have tossed the ball down at the one yard line he would had a 75 yard touchdown I think it was against Kentucky you got you you got a you got a QB a 462 QB like that's that's what you want you don't you don't you don't you don't even I mean and I I'm I'm playing around that was his 40 coming out of high school I think has definitely gotten a lot faster since high school uh and and but I mean he's a quarterback just like the the other game managers that provided opportuni Joe burrow is not blazing speed but when it was time to get get in open space and make an account for be accountable for it you had to respect what he did with his legs well you saw what haes king did against FSU I mean I mean that dude is by far not a running quarterback but he was he he got the job done you know did did did you run the watch the Colorado game last night oh I didn't get to watch like as much as I wanted to uh but I was really interested to see because you know North Dakota state has got you know they they've been running that system and they got their boys yes that run it so much that that they don't get it wrong and I was really interested to see you know if all you know you know coach prims and brought in two whole new teams both years he's been there you know it showed it showed 100% but last night they had a running quarterback and that guy we was in here joking and we was in the Discord joking like this is what they classifying as a as their dual threat quarterback that guy was moving so stiff his Juke moves but it was effective because of how how deliberate he was when the opportunities presented itself and that's what we need to see with our with our defense you know when the opportunities present themselves too many times our linebackers would see a a a quarterback not athletic you know second guessing if he can take off they're going to take off they're going to take off they don't expect right anybody that watched Alabama's defense last year if they if they Scout to play that mentality that play call they're in trouble they're in trouble Tim Tim anything else before I question for you go ahead go ahead I got one question for you okay so because I I still you know because I'm in hunsel and and all I get to see is videos and this and that and and what everybody else gets to see but one one player that I'm really interested in and and just you know if if you know any updates I mean I love the see Saturday but is is Noah Carter and and you know I know that you know his his weight adjustment I think he's up like 245 now or something he's done put on some weight since he's been there but how's he been in Camp how's he looking um like where what position is he at because I haven't really got to see anything on him and and you know I really hasn't you know looked at looked at it you know what I'm saying what are you seeing out of Noah Carter so um I haven't been able to go to the any of the actual practices but my eyes on scene man um talking with the likes of uh Kenny Smith III he's the writer for the athletic covers Alabama um is at the practices is at the is at the post practice reports um Noah Carter not only did he have a pick six in the second scrimmage right the final scrimmage of the uh of the fall camp but the young man is getting in the lab one thing about nor Carter this year I didn't expect to see much from him as far as getting on the field is because he's just so raw in the position that he's being asked to play at the University Alabama the first thing that he he he and and this is what this is what gives me confidence that he is on the right track he had to dedicate his efforts and time to getting his frame right and for the Young have only been for a little over a month now weeks now I think there seven weeks they're going into it um seven weeks and to put on nine pounds of lean muscle mass and pick up a step pick pick up a step in in in in speed um also there's there's a clip there's a clip out that I was I was talking about and if I could find it in my in my Boll I'll play it during the next talk but um there's a clip out where he's getting coached up by Q Rob um in one clip but then you see his raw his rawness in the technique part of the drill but then when it came down to the competitive side Unstoppable you don't you you got a guy who's brought at the edge position going to be playing Edge you know playing that wolf position and I mean and the way he's growing we might be able to put him in that Bandit position to be your next Keon key like defensive end linebacker Edge you get what I'm saying cuz people think Keon ke is just a defensive end I know they they put him there to teach him the technique he had to learn how to get his hand in the dirt and get off that speed bull rush crap on the edge now he's able to hey key we need a stand up band at this play go you know that's where they're working uh Noah Carter in that with his athleticism he he covers downfield from the wolf position and he blitzes off the edge seal the edge in the Run game um and it's developing man so you you're not going to hear much about him he's part of that possibly part of that red shirt crew which is not a bad thing it's a lot of them QB Reese Noah Carter Jon Ross all of those guys getting red shirt is not a bad thing man oh no it ain't we got we got some good we got some still we still got a lot of Talent on the defense and uh I want to say this I'm I'm happy to see what God's doing with you and and um uh I've been watching you here for you know this is definitely gonna be an opportunity for these guys to show up this weekend as far as offensive MVP it can only go to none other than be jayen Nero I don't I don't think that would be a question and I'm not saying an opportunity us for us to be tested but this is the perfect setup for what you want Alabama to to to go up against and and let's say let's say this is the video game right babe and and we're we're talking about you know getting good at the video game if this if I'm a new user on the game and I jump on that mug and I go out there trying to play Heisman first game oh I'm gonna level right you you get at a varsity level you have skills it's not like they don't know how to play football all of those players are are very skilled in what they do we're not going to Discount that but the amount of talent the level the disparity is it should not be the only thing that we're able to showcase the and be able to dominate and win by schematic execution being able to execute the plays on both sides of the ball effectively at a consistent rate will allow us to to dominate talent-wise go ahead and I just think it's an opportunity for us to really see because it's different when it's in practice and when it's game time I think it's really going to be an opportunity for us to see what works what doesn't work um for us to see how quickly we respond and react right um and how how much can we be prepared for the next play are we playing smart or we playing um just play byplay so I I'm excited you know I'm a huge Kang wck fan so I'm really excited to see what this defense looks like you can't make me hate them I don't care what y'all say uh next Alabama head coach I said it to my credit look look and this is the thing um we talk about the offense a lot and I'm glad you you transition to the defense kind of to wrap this up um defensively I I think we're going to see a lot of guys emerge in that defensive line I'm telling you that's to me they will carry the defense early on in this season especially when we show up to play against Georgia their effectiveness upfront and what type of resources Georgia extra resources Georgia's going to have to commit in in order to contain our front four our front five that that interior pass rush the the stunts but they're going to have to commit to it we're going to see a glimpse of that this this week because uh what what Western Kentucky wants to do they want to come out and four wide so if we can get pressure with four down linemen and let our linebackers play in space and don't have to uh assist in the in the Blitz game in the pressure game that's a good sign that's a good sign it may not be a direct reflection of what we'll be able to do against Georgia but it represents hey we can hit them we have the capabilities to to do these things in these different type of scenarios and I think that's what this game does especially for the defense with the aggressive play calling style of Kane wck who I believe is going to dial it up to disrupt the timing of TJ fing uh Finley and this wide receiver core who to me um they got five or six guys that can really fly around the field at Western Kentucky um
