to be one of the team's best players ashy nles welcome in welcome in hey man I just want to say I am not too big to apologize and what I'm apologizing for is I didn't mean to come off of the way that I was condemning Ashen Watkins it's always guilty to proven innocent and I said that throughout the live but it did rub some people the wrong way the suspension has been lifted we're going to get into it we're going to get into it but you know I'm letting I'm letting some more people get in here before we dive into it but give me y'all's initial reaction to the news man ashon Watkins is back now we're not gonna act like she wasn't facing some very serious dire charges now but we definitely owe ashon Watkins in apology yes yes yes yes welcome in welcome in everybody look man a lot of people in the chat jumped the gun I was not one condemning her but I will say the charges was looking very nasty the publicity was not good and a lot of people were wondering how Don Staley would handle this situation turns out she didn't have to it was handled now giving y little update from one of the latest articles out the news was announced of course last night this is from W10 another respected station and actually my thing is if you if you saw like ashon Watkins as a physically imposing presence that's all I was saying is that she's a physically imposing presence but hey man my intent wasn't to rub nobody the wrong way I was not trying to insult a student athlete in that manner that that was not my intent that was not my intent Freda welcome in welcome in freda's kitchen yeah that was not my intent I wasn't trying to condemn her I was just painting a picture from the article what we said yeah absolutely absolutely y'all obvious scouted a basketball I've met eighth graders that are 610 like yes yes I Frank welcome in welcome in yes I mean I'm I'm doing my due diligence as a journalist reporting what's out there and that's why we're here today but I am not too big of a man to apologize my intent was not to offend anybody or paint Ashlin Watkins in a demeanor that you know disgraced her or insulted her in any way I'm a fan of Ashley Watkins I think this is great news she's a potential number one draft pick and I'm not trying to see no young player or no young person in general throw their life away over Something Stupid Frank welome in the headlines can make someone look like a minute sometimes you think you're doing the right thing and it's it's taken in the wrong way valid valid let's get into it a little bit let's get into it a little bit so from the article from Columbia South Carolina quote two trusted sources confirmed Wednesday that the suspension of University of South Carolina women's basketball player Ashley Watkins had been lifted following her arrest on Saturday a spokesperson y'all remember they were they said that and I think South Carolina did a good job I think South Carolina did a good job not rushing to release a statement now we know Watkins a spokesperson said any athlete arrested is suspended the spokesperson would not confirm on the record if Watkins was suspended at any time Watkins we know was charged with assault and kidnapping after after an incident at an on campus Affiliated apartment complex but she maintained her in inent through innocence through her lawyer rep Todd Rutherford and we mentioned he released a comment too saying basically that it was all nonsense and he turned out to be right John welcome in welcome in hey thank you same to you my God same to you blessed and strong yes yes thank you yes being you into the media you of all people should know the media can make things appear worse than what things are and and that's what happened that that's what happened it was those charges painted a very nasty picture there was and and then the the comments about that there is a video that was really damning and that was con that was goingon to convict her pretty much there was a lot of speculation out there pug Dad what's up what's up welcome in welcome in fra says suspension has been lifted but we still don't know what that means for her playing facts we we don't know that much and I'm going to get through the rest of the article we don't know if she's suiting up for the first game but we we do know she will play basketball again and that's the good thing yeah Don has been pretty closed mouth on this incident I know people probably have been asking her about it but I think South Carolina handled it the right way I really think they did I am hoping it works out for her I live in Colombia and attend all the games I've met her she was a pleasure yeah and she's a HomeTown kid you know hom State kid absolutely heard Malaysia fali like yeah you I mean you definitely want to see them succeed so and I think what made it sound really bad too is that the girl was a minor they're calling her a juvenile in this AR now we know Watkins was charged with assault and kidnapping after the incident on campus according to a USC police incident report Watkins was in an argument with a female juvenile at 650 Lincoln Street early Saturday morning the report States officers found the juvenile being restrained by Watkins and jumping over a ledge at the building's parking garage the juvenile initially told police Watkins hit her multiple times however later said Watkins never hit her so the girl lied let's talk about it Frederick let's talk about it my guy so the girl lied the girl blatantly lied on Ashlin Watkin will we ever know the real reason why who knows but the girl blatantly lied and that's what caused this whole stir Ashley got to stay away from this girl this girl this this this young lady is obviously bad for business a first degree assault and battery charge is a felony which we mentioned in the last live which means if convicted Watkins could face up to 10 years in prison just for that charge but that wasn't the only one her lawyer said a concern I think most people would be shocked to learn is restricting someone's movement for a moment in time is kidnapping and somebody mentioned that in the last live where they were saying you know there's a lot of when and that's her lawyer when law enforcement charges a person with kidnap kidnapping it's often heavy-handed if the person isn't responsible for an abduction a kidnapping charge is considered a felony punishable by up to 30 years if convicted of the crime her lawyer also said misconceptions around the kidnapping is reason alone that the statute should change for South Carolina quote the kidnapping and this is uh Watkins lawyer talking the kidnapping statute needs to be changed because under the current current law if you restrict someone's movement for an instant for a moment you are guilty of kidnapping that defies logic that the general public would see when you see so and so arrested for kidnapping you would rightfully think that they've thrown someone in the back of their car that's what it sounded like that's what you think when you hear kidnapping you're definitely thinking somebody's getting put in a trunp and going for a ride or they've locked someone in their basement that's not what has to happen and to really understand this you also have to understand too what he what they're saying about kidnapping in South Carolina literally like you could stand and block a door and that's considered kidnapping in South Carolina the headlines were nasty man the charges sounded nasty it it sounded a lot worse than what it was and I think that's why South Carolina did a really good job of not rushing the Judgment yes cut all ties if she lied the girl blatantly lied if you're just joining the chat the girl blatantly lied on Ashlin Watkins and everybody ran with if she lied is that not filing a L report subject to legal consequences man I feel like when somebody lies and ruins your life they should do the bid that you were going to do like blatantly lying messing up there if you a problem definitely and I don't think Ashley's a problem but yeah D coach Staley is not putting one person above this program or this team you absolutely right Ashley like she will get you up out of there it don't matter who you are definitely what is y'all's initial reaction to the news and I'm GNA go through the article a little bit more so we know she posted the $30,000 bail and it's looking like as far as the legal situation she could be in the clear I haven't seen anything of official saying the case was dropped but if the witness if the if the key witness if the victim is saying that she lied and recanting the story then yeah all charges need to be dropped immediately immediately first off if everyone who got in a fight with their wife or girlfriend got fired the unemployment rate would be 90% yeah you were way too hard on ashon Watkins for these souped up charges and Byron that wasn't my intent that was not my intent I was not trying to paint her as guilty because she wasn't and I said that multiple times innocent until proven guilty now I was teed up energy was on 10 but y'all know my energy is always on 10 I never I've never want to see any young person or anybody throw their throw their future away it's funny to me that this piece of drama with SC was bigger news than us being undefeated national champions bro that I mean Sean Frank the story was everywhere the story was everywhere it spread like wildfire and I know I definitely ruffled some feathers too I remember the first time I saw Sean open on the field I was like when did a 40-year-old grown man play college football like bro Sean Oakman was supposed to be a franchise player that man looked like a created character carear down the drain BR you never got into a fight with your wife or girlfriend of course you know I had arguments with females I've never gotten physical though I don't believe in putting my hands on a woman at all but yeah as far as getting into arguments of course of course some of these girls crazy out here Byron you already know yeah I'm not perfect and I'm not gonna act like I am I'm human just like y'all I'm just now hearing this news surveillance footage man that should have ruled out a lot initially before this thing even took off the only way I'll go with that theory is if they find out Watkins was dating that victim then you know there's something fishy like a Carl Malone situation that's statutory man that ain't nothing to play with especially down south you will get your tail locked up for playing RC I'm glad that the drama is over and she can get back to her life hopefully the legal case is properly dismissed and she can take it as water under the bridge and just go back to SC game plan yeah I'm right there with you RC like and cut ties cut ties from this girl delete her number get her off social media never talk to her again like get away from this girl because she is bad for business I think the change the channels and pages that were saying Watkins careers need to cancel their channels for jump with the gun with false reports and yeah that's something I'm not going to do that's something I'm not going to do I'm not going to condemn someone for views like we didn't know it was worth talking about there was speculation in the air we heard about the suspension there is a possibility she may never play basketball again but to to condemn her and say that her career is over is irresponsible man I completely agree with you RC she could also have tried to get money from a potential yeah from from a future Lottery Pick and y'all see the WNBA contracts are on the way up we're talking serious money now man now this is big news just for Ashley her life as a person is is looking like it's gonna get back on track um and she'll get past this but also you know this is huge news for South Carolina and their Championship hes now I think they still had chance to win a title without Ashlin but now with Ashlin like they are hands down the number one team it's them and everybody else but this would have been a major loss for this program the cops should be fired for even making those charges local police officers try to ruin South Carolina Women's Basketball teamon it was nasty work it was it was those charges were trumped up they sounded really bad anybody face those charges I would have said the same thing they sounded really really bad and they they were hyped up and her I sh shout out to her lawyer because her lawyer maintained her innocence the whole time said that stuck to his story and said that we would all realize this was nonsense and he he obviously knew the girl was lying he obviously knew the girl was lying and that what really happened in the dark or what we think happened would come to light but ashon Watkins should absolutely be exonerated charges drop suspension is lifted like man let this young lady go on with her life let her get back to doing the main thing which is playing basketball now we know that South Carolina front court is loaded but Ashlin Watkins is a Player of the Year type level Talent she's a number one potential draft pick in the WBA draft if she decides to go pro but 20 years old like mistakes happen I'm just glad this didn't cost her everything cuz just from reading the reports it sound like Ashley Watkins had completely crashed out y'all I'm not gonna hold you but we know that that is how the internet is I mean you could see a 30 second clip from from an hourong video and rush to judgment I'm not here to condemn her or say that her career was going to be over because that was just too far we don't know we don't know and I'm not here just to talk just to talk I was hoping for the best for the victim as well as Ashlin Watkins and now maybe maybe we find out Ashlin Watkins was actually the victim she good though I I don't think she's a troublemaker just probably got in a very emotional situation yeah yeah I would agree people were trying to say she had a temper like I've never heard of ashon Watkins getting in any trouble not getting kicked out of any games or anything like that Tessa Johnson is about to open her own culinary ARS program this season by the way she gonna cook all over oh talk to him she impressed me big time in the championship game and she was killing my team yo RC she can man I could watch Tessa Johnson shoot the basketball all day beautiful jump shot man and it looks like it's going in every time I mean between her Malaysia full Wy tahena pal pal Raven Johnson Breezy Hall mdy McDaniel like that backourt is stacked that back court is absolutely stacked and then the front Court too man with with Ashlin coming back Khloe kid who I think is going to have a a breakout year for sure I think this is going to be a big year for her siia Fagan Miriam daa like that front court is insane and Ashlin Watkins is gonna be a big part of that this would have been a huge blow to South Carolina but bigger than that I'm hoping this she's able to put this past her not harp on it people won't hold it against her cuz I mean people don't forget especially when accusations like this though like that's that's terrible and it's making it look bad for other women out there that aren't crying wolf that may really be in a dangerous domes situation man you can't just play with people's lives like this you cannot just play with people's lives like that man like when this type of situation happens the person crying wolf should do the sentence that the person they tried to get in say man she can just get back to playing basketball but the big thing is the girl lied and her lawyer kept the whole story the whole time telling people that it didn't sound as bad as it was or that
