foreign welcome to another episode of Teslas in Canada today we're going to talk about the differences about the model y rear wheel drive and the model y Duo Motor as well as the performance and break down which one should you get what's best for you and your budget I'll give you a breakdown on the differences between them all and if you haven't seen any of my other videos already check them out here and be sure to like And subscribe to the channel so what are the differences between the model y rear-wheel drive the all-wheel drive and the performance so first and foremost let's go over pricing so the model y rear wheel drive starts at 59 990 dollars Canadian and the all-wheel drive or the dual motor version starts at 69 990 so that's ten thousand dollars more now if you go up to the performance model you're going to be at 76 290 dollars Canadian now ring model y rear wheel drive gets you 394 kilometers on a full battery at 100 which you can do each and every time you can charge it to 100 the dual motor gets you 497 kilometers they used to have a higher rated range but I think over time they've realized it's actually 497 so that's roughly 100 kilometers more than the rear wheel drive version but typically you can only charge it to or they only recommend you charge it to 80 or 90 percent on The Daily which gets you at 80 percent that's 397 kilometers so that's almost in line with the model y rear-wheel drive for daily use if you're doing a longer road trip charge it to 100 and get closer to that 500 kilometer Mark that's going to be beneficial for road trips the model y performance has a rated range of 459 kilometers and at 80 percent that's 367 kilometers that is less than the model y rear wheel drive now the model y rear wheel drive if you get the 20 inch rims instead of the standard 19 inch rims you're going to end up with a range of 364 kilometers only so keep that in mind if you want those extra nice looking rims you're going to sacrifice a bit on the Range which 364 kilometers if you're using those same rims in the winter time you're going to be under 300 kilometers of range for sure in the winter and I don't know if that's ideal for you for myself personally I prefer to make sure I can have the longest range possible even if the rims are not as flashy as I would like because to be honest the fitment of the Tesla rims and tires don't look that great with the body in my personal opinion so top speed on these three model y's by the way I am sitting in a rear wheel drive model 3 currently filming this video but my rear wheel drive model Y is come coming shortly and I will still have this vehicle as well but I'll have the both of them so that will be beneficial for you guys as the channel to get to know more about the vehicles anyways top speed on both cars is 217 kilometers an hour that would be for the model y rear-wheel drive and the dual motor but the difference is there are that the dual motor can get from zero to 100 kilometers in five seconds flat whereas the rear wheel drive version can only do that in 6.9 seconds so it's quite a bit slower than the dual motor and you can definitely feel that while you're driving from that zero to 100 kilometers still top speed they both top out at 217 kilometers an hour whereas the model y performance can do 250 kilometers an hour and go from zero to 100 kilometers an hour in just 3.7 seconds but I can do zero to 100 kilometers an hour in just 3.7 seconds so it is real quick some other differences are the model y uh rear wheel drive you can't get white seats currently now will that change it might because they did add the two different types of rims where previously when it first came out for order you could only get the stock style 19 inch rims but now they've opened it up to the 20 inch rims as well so that may change in the future but currently um that's where it's at and yeah so those are some of the major differences now there's minor differences between the performance and dual motor in terms of styling and things like that but overall the rear wheel drive and the dual motor are pretty much the same dual pane windows full speaker system throughout the 13 speaker system you got the floor mats you have the lighting interior lighting you have all of that um unless I'm incorrect on the interior lighting but I don't think so once
