welcome back to the show Nicole Kidman was set to accept the best actress award at the Venice Film Festival this weekend for her upcoming film baby girl when it was revealed that her mother Janelle passed away at 84 years old a statement was read on her behalf which said in part this award is for her she shaped me she guided me and she made me just days before the heartbreaking news we actually spoke with Nicole in the cast of her new Netflix show the perfect couple about the series and more somebody died and somebody's guilty I read that you were nervous to take this role why why is that I mean he's a that well there's that there's there's the primordial fear of Nicole but there's also the like he seems like a jerk mhm and I like I don't I don't want to do that I'm I'm tired of you know being a jerk I want he's not a jerk he's a compell uh intellectual has some issues any comment on the body that was found on your property your wife a suspect I would have thought our family's contribution to the N Tucket fund would afford us a little more discretion and it doesn't help when someone says right off the bat that you're supposed to be a d but uh don't you love that term yeah that's all we can hope for and is any any right yeah yeah exactly oh thanks man I appreciate that back what was it like for you guys to work together fabulous I'd love to do everything with him it was a treat it was a treat I didn't I completely unexpected I mean there were things I thought I knew about her but I didn't know what something that you learned about she had the moves that you'll see in this in this show are we talking literal dance moves yes no literal and figurative this show sort of um pushes back against the notion of a perfect couple is is there a such thing in your mind as a perfect couple or just like perfect for each other I don't think there perfect anything yeah I agree I think that's the beauty of it I think that's the irony of the title is that watch out for perfect yeah anything that's presented as perfect forget it so when you see people refer to you and your husband as like a perfect couple do you kind of roll your eyes bristle or you just like don't see it at at all I don't see that there's certain things you just want to share with the person is your partner you don't want anyone else's opinion certain things the perfect couple is streaming on Netflix now [Music]
