what's going on everybody Rohan Chuck Rari reporting here from Camp R Stadium week two is in the books the Wisconsin Badgers pull off a 2713 Victory here against South Dakota they get two straight wins to start off their season they start the year obviously 2 and 0 and now they're headed into the biggest matchup you know of this non-conference schedule week three against Alabama but let's break this game down starting off with the first half Wisconsin did something differently in the first half started off really strong you had a opening touchdown drive seven plays 75 yards that lasted only 2 minutes and 46 you know seconds of GameTime Tyler van djk had three explosive plays on the drive hit Vinnie Anthony on a nice bootleg play action essentially evaded pressure rolled to his right hit Anthony for about 32 yards then found Bryson Green on a 22 yd pass 16 came after the catch that led to a chz Maloy touchdown quick score for the Badgers they go up 7-0 after starting with the ball you force a punt Wisconsin then didn't score in their second drive but forced another Punt and then ended up scoring on a three-play 58 yd touchdown drive a big play there from uh Tyler van djk to get CJ Williams the ball a 50 yard score that ended up being the 14-0 lead that Wisconsin held for a good portion of the beginning of the game defense started off strong you forced three straight punts then only uh you know South Dakota could get on the board but it was a very good start a difference for the Badgers and a clear positive here in week two but in the middle of the game Wisconson waned on both sides of the ball you see the offense maybe not you know uh stuttered a bit didn't get as much going in the passing game uh you know that in that intermediate part of the game and then also the defense struggled in the Run game um you know South Dakota started to get a little bit more of its identity their strong run team ran for 266 yards and four touchdowns in week one ended up getting 123 yards on the ground here in week two but it was a similar mentality to week one Wisconsin with a Ben don't break mentality on defense only allowed uh 13 points two field goal possessions came in the red zone for South Dakota so strong defensively there but there are definitely some positives and then some things to look uh you know try and improve on heading out of this week the positives well the strong start like I mentioned also the adversity the team is kind of getting some more confidence under them they're finishing stronger that me that mental toughness that was something that uh you know I was talking with a little bit after the game that's something that you are seeing from this team that you didn't see as much last year and that's something that you need in close games now some of the things to improve on you you look at the offense it started off strong but still the passing game still seems like it's still working through some kicks the timing and uh things like that some decision- making from Tyler van djk needs to improve but I think the the blueprint or at least the framework for the positives are there for sure I think that's the good part when it comes to the Wisconsin offense we got to see though how quickly it's going to take for them to really you know uh accelerate the growth of this offense and get into the groove of things before the Big 10 stage because you've got some tough games coming up Alabama obviously and then the real big 10 schedule starts from there so there are things to improve on offensively defensively it always comes back to the Run game the Badgers have to find a way to get be better uh you know in the Run game whether it's uh you know the defensive line or whether it's the linebackers the front seven struggled a little bit with the Run game today specifically with Charles Pierre Jr the sophomore running back for South Dakota they need to find a way to do better against teams that are more inclined to run the football and can do so at a higher success rate with Alabama and the teams coming up later so there's things to definitely work on but nonetheless it was a positive win for the Badgers you go up 27 to 13 you come away from the first two games to and know you win by double digits and the Badgers you know this was one that was going to be a tough battle according to Luke fickle and they ended up pulling through stay tuned though for all the live coverage we got you covered for the rest of the week and heading into week three with a big game against Alabama
