Cleveland Guardians previously known as the Cleveland Indians the team was first established in 1896 and have been based in Cleveland since 1900 the team would go through various names until settling on Indians in 1915 of course the team would keep this name until 2021 due to the name Indians being cancelled I don't agree with the name change myself and feel it's another case of get rid of the Native but keep the land that in the name Guardians sucks no I wasn't hoping they'd become the spiders anyways this design originally debuted in 1994 to coincide with the Indians moving into what was Jacob's field the team would add and subtract alternates Through The Years with the C logo replacing Chief Wahu as the primary logo in 2014 followed by permanently taking its place on all the hats in 2019 with 2019 being the year where we saw changes in the uniforms that carried over to the 2022 Guardians Rebrand the home white is still as nice as it was when they were the Indians though like Minnesota this number font on the back looks cheap easy and I feel these will age faster than the original block numbers I'm not a fan of it at least the hat is an improvement over the boring blocky the Indians brought in to replace Chief Wahoo complete with keeping their tradition of having a red bill at home we've got a more unique shape on the sea that matches the font on all the jerseys and most importantly it's outlined the road jersey is identical to the Indians road jersey introduced in 2011 along with the all blue hat though I would have preferred if they had it in cursive like the Indians road used to be to make it more interesting and less boring in my eyes the red home alternate originally introduced in 2019 is still good even in this Guardians version and man should there be a cursive font on the navy blue Road alternate granted it's not quite as boring as it was from 2019 to 2021 due to the boring block font used there I'm probably just still myth that the blue jersey got shafted the way it did Cleveland will be receiving a city connect this season so I'll be sure to react to it once it's released I still don't know whether to call this classic or redesign it's not classic because they used to say Indians in a Timeless cursive font though this font is pretty good too but I can't call this a redesign because all that was done was changing the font and what was placed on the front Cleveland definitely took the safe route for their Rebrand especially compared to the commanders and Elks screw it they're still decent now I want to hear from Cleveland fans whether or not they like the Rebrand I want some genuine feedback cuz I'm curious tomorrow we will be wrapping up the AL Central with the Kansas City Royals
