Ryan thanks very much for joining us postgame we exit the carabel Cup tonight but can you be really positive about that performance I think so yeah it's never nice to lose a game um everyone's obviously in there disappointed but I think there's real positive to take from take from the performance um I think we we played our game really well we pressed well from the front and played out from the back really well which is obviously positive going forward and I think we caused them real problems um just moments in the game where obviously decisions go against us or um they obviously score a goal on the break as well so stuff for us to learn from um but positives to take take from it for sure to face Premier League opposition like Fulham it would have been easy to back down and and change your game style a little bit but you certainly didn't do that today no definitely we wanted to to show our style of play and Implement Implement ourselves on them um which I think we did for large Parts they had a few moments as we say but on the whole I think we we took the game to them and caused them real problems and it's only going to stand Us in good stead going forward into Saturday and for the rest of the season in terms of our style and and what we want to do to teams like you mentioned chances certainly came for you tonight hit the bar a couple more that just didn't quite fall our way but on another day do you feel like we could have certainly progressed today 100% as I say we I think we caused them problems um we played played our style of football really well and press them really well there's there's obviously going to be moments in the game where where they have have a footo hoold because they're a Premier League team and they've got quality players um but on the whole it's a really positive one for us um as you say there there was moments where we could have maybe maybe took our chances a little bit better and and and really caused them problems but wasn't to be tonight but we look forward to Saturday absolutely that being said did did did the relatively early goals two of them coming quite soon after each other leave you a little bit too much to do in the end I think so yeah the as I say the they're a Premier League team they're they're experienced players and and they've got a lot of knowhow and I think towards the end they they killed the game really well um we go two behind in quick succession as you say and it's always an uphill battle then against anyone let alone a Premier League team so um yeah work to do for us and learning for us to do but um on the whole um good nights work and and a good test for us absolutely you controlled a lot of the tempo tonight especially you building from the back the way that the way that you do can you take a lot of confidence about being able to do that against the side as good as Fulham definitely yeah but I think we've shown it in in all the previous games as well I think we've we've implemented it from preseason from from the very first game against pador um and and we've worked on it improved going forward and and we're still going to improve doing that but it's still early early for us in that style but um as you saw tonight we got a lot of success from it and it's a really positive way in playing and I think we get a lot of Joy from doing it that way and I think that shows personally for you as a a Boyhood blue noose as well is it always special playing here at St Andrews at nighted Park 100% yeah it was I was delighted to make my home debut today and would have preferred the results Go a different way but on a personal note it was nice to nice to walk out in front of the home fans and for a professional game and um no yeah delighted to to make my day with for blues having been here couple of months now as well how well have you settled in with the rest of the group really well it's a great group um I think it shows that we've got a real togetherness in spirit and I think we show that on the pitch um we have that in the dressing room and so we're only going to get closer go going forward and I think you can see the spirit and people working off the ball for each other and we want to fight for each other and I think to get out of the league that we're in you need that first and foremost um coupled with the style of play that we've got and and the togetherness so um um no really positive start to the season on the whole um we need to carry it on we can't get complacent with it and we need to to bounce back from this this result really strongly on Saturday just finally on the fans was it clear that they really appreciated the performance tonight with the way they clapped you and sung after the whistle I think so yeah it was was brilliant at the end going around and and and showing our our appreciation towards them and hopefully they saw the fight that we give tonight and and the effort that all the boys have put in and The Lads have left nothing out there tonight it was just wasn't meant to be um but no it was brilliant that that they stayed behind and and shown their appreciation to us and and we done likewise so um no they've been brilliant so far and I'm sure they'll be the same going forward and thank you very much well played yes thank you
