so after this there is no any chance to have any kind of compromise and agreement on migration politically it's impossible not today generally speaking for the next years you know because because unprecedented influx created a National Emergency that threatened to overwhelm the country with makeshift camps springing up sanitation collapsing and resources stretched to the breaking point hungry was on the brink of chaos the 2015 migrant crisis presented A new challenge for the country prime minister Orbin and his government argued that before offering humanitarian Aid the primary concern should be ensuring the Safety and Security of Hungarian citizens they believe that the influx of predominantly Muslim migrants posed a significant threat to the country's cultural identity Christian values and National stability the Hungarian government implemented a series of drastic measures to address this perceived threat first they built a heavily fortified fence along the country's Southern borders equipped with motion sensors cameras and the ability to deliver electric shocks to her illegal Crossings this physical barrier combined with the deployment of thousands of additional border guards effectively sealed off hungary's borders secondly the government passed a series of laws that criminalized illegal border crossing allowing the authorities to detain and swiftly Deport migrants without the right to appeal Additionally the government introduced a national consultation Campaign which sought to Rally public support for its Hardline stance on immigration by spreading anti-immigrant rhetoric and portraying the migrants as a threat to Hungarian values and way of life the results of these measures were Swift and dramatic within a year the number of illegal border crossings had plummeted by over 99% and Hungary had gained near total control over its borders the government's actions were celebrated by its supporters as a Triumph of national sovereignty and the protection of Hungarian identity but they were also widely condemned by human rights groups and the International Community as a violation of the rights of Asylum Seekers today Hungary remains a country with one of the most restrictive immigration policies in Europe and its stance on the issue continues to be a source of controversy and debate however for the government of Victor Orban the protection of Hungarian citizens and the preservation of the country's cultural identity Remain the top priorities even if it means sacrificing International Goodwill and humanitarian concerns orban's
