football Jaden Daniels who walked away with a Heisman trophy so I'd say that's pretty good company we are in good company here defensive lineman Zeke Biggers running back Jamal Haynes great to see you guys we're almost done with the day so how would you sum up your ACC kickoff experience uh it's been it's been a great day had fun some interview questions like not nothing been too hard everything's been easy to answer so um I've been having a great time though I'm like the contrast in size like you might be the biggest you might be the 17 it's just kind of funny who's the who's the best looking Jamal me Jamal take me through um the position change right because that that's something you come in as a receiver and you expect to have an impact and then coaches approach you how did that conversation go um honestly that conversation went really well but what I really want uh the fans and the people to know that this is not something new um I've been playing running back my whole life I've been doing it since I was in elementary middle school high school uh the position change itself though it definitely comes with more details to the position um you definitely have to protect your quarterback a little bit more you have to put on some pounds cuz you know you're getting hit by several other Defenders now um it was definitely a a smooth transition and it came on to the coaches and also to uh me as well as just coming in and ready to work like that's all that's what I always did I always been a hard worker put my head down and work um me and my coaches on the same same uh on the same count as what we wanted to do and how we wanted to build our program and it's been very successful so far have you added any weight and if so how much yes sir I'm actually weighing in 190 right now so then put on about 10 lb wow okay straight muscle don't lose no speed lose no speed I need that straight muscle I love I love that uh Zeke one thing uh in particular last year you guys are playing Clemson and I keep seeing this dude 88 show up on the screen I'm like who is this I knew who you were but I'm just like my gosh can somebody block me you had a heck of a game two-part question why 88 is there a reason for why you wear that and then two just how do you play the game because it showed up what I saw uh definitely 88 came I wear 44 in high school so when I got here um the jersey number was retired for a year for somebody that um passed away so Coach Collins just side um you want to double it I was like yeah might as well so 88 and then um definitely uh me as a player I'm definitely just trying to be a dominant player physical just come back knock people back and get to the quarterback or they get some TF as well yeah check just just saw a couple right there yeah you uh you you doubled your weight so you might as well double your number right yeah n no I lost I lost a lot of weight okay you look good man I say that apprciate all right Jamal tell me uh what your what is your favorite running play and why do you like that particular play I get this question a lot and I actually surprise a lot of people I love counter I love counter uh because the space that you get to get into the space that I'm able to get into and then just see seeing the line just wash everything away and then you just split right through the hole it's one of those it's one of those plays where it's just it's just beautiful to watch you have to trust to the last second till it opens up absolutely stay in the back hip of that tight end or that pulling guard he knows he knows it so it's pass Pro the worst part for you switching over the running back what most difficult hardest not not worst but okay now cuz targeting and if that's the case yeah it'll be pass Pro probably one of those difficult things that's transition but do I consider it being the like hard thing uh at running back no yeah n wow yeah that's good it's good you got to line them and and figure it out right right Z now uh the change in the defensive scheme right I'm wondering stopping the Run was a big thing for you guys needed to improve on are they going to use you any different or how's the scheme changed yeah so everybody know we U so sanui um ran a 425 so uh I'm going to play a lot more three technique as well I'm going still play two and stuff but I'm play a lot more three technique so um we added a couple guys as well and to help St that run so we looking forward to um just scheme up every team we play and make some plays and start the Run cuz that's definitely a big thing that we needed to proove on from last year hey Zeke do you know you're being coached by one of the best dline coaches in that's where I was going coach come on just Simpson yes definitely I know um he's a great guy um push his player make sure like we know what we have to do so he just a detail detail detail guy so um getting in there watching film as with him much as I can can is is a great thing U he breaks the game down to me in ways like you didn't even know it can get broke down so I love that coach I ain't going to lie he's the best Jamal I think that you and and Haynes have the opportunity here to be one of the best onew punches in the conference and who knows where it goes from there what have you seen from him growth-wise and why do you think there's another level that you guys can take it uh specifically for Haynes and his growth I've seen the biggest uh biggest growth in leadership and vocal leadership he's been speaking up a whole lot more uh being able to hold others accountable not just on the offensive side but also on the defensive side and I feel like that would be that'll send our uh team in the right direction or where we want to go Jamal I saw a video of you and you exude so much pride and confidence uh representing Georgia Tech where where does that come from honestly the Love of the Game um I've been playing football since I was four years old my mom also played my dad also played my both of my brothers played so always been around the game so the love of the game that comes with it it's always been there it's always been a big passion for the game I have one quick question does your head coach ever smile yes he smiles yeah he okay he Jes around after he gets on you yeah there it is we'll try and crack a smile out of bran key sometime this season was fun to watch you guys get to where you were last year we're excited to see where you guys take it definitely good luck thank you big thanks to these guys we're going to send them off as we wrap up the day here because it it's been a ton of fun what
