Intro what's up awesome people of the internet um I hope you all had a awesome Fourth of July as fireworks were going off yesterday all around the United States there were some women's basketball fireworks going off as well uh we have Team USA losing to Brazil and America if you're interested in watching a um General recap on my thoughts about that game you can just click right up here and watch that Trade um and we also have another uh fireworks that happened yesterday um we have our first trade of the WNBA season the Indiana Fever have traded Queen egbo to the Washington Mystics for Amanda's Ali B and so my initial reaction to uh this news was wow that's really kind of the fever and then my second thought was well I think this is a great win-win-win for everybody um onto that first thought I thought First Thought that The Fever did a really uh solid good deed for queen egbo as you remember the fever drafted Queen egbo uh in 2022 as the 10th overall pick um and she really had a solid season for the fever she started 31 out of 33 games last season uh she made the all rookie team had um more than uh 40 blocks uh last season and she also averaged a good amount of points she averaged to 7.2 points and 6.3 rebounds a game um so again pretty pretty solid numbers she also showed herself to be a very very good post Defender um and as I said you know just a solid solid season and so I felt that the fever um would have quinegbo in their long-term sites as a starting center um that is until Betty hitar um decides if she's going to come to to play for the Indiana Fever or not if Betty hitar was going to come back then I would see you know Queen egbo being a backup to her um but in the meantime um I was imagining that Queen ekbo would be the starting center for this team um and that all changed uh this this uh WB Draft when um the fever drafted Elia Boston as the number one pick now instead of quinegbo being um the de facto starter for this team um and and being in a role that she can uh continue to develop and get better Queen Igbo has been relegated to sitting on the bench for the sake of Queen's uh growing as a player and really growing in her career I think it was best for the fever to move her uh to a team that that could actually use her and actually use her with significant minutes not just you know nine minutes coming off the bench Washington Mystics and so I thought that the Indiana Fever did a good thing to um quinegbo by sending her to the right place in my mind which is the wash domestics and that's because the Washington Mystics is there her team you have both Elena Delle Donne and Shakira Austin who are hurt and queen egbo is going to uh fit in quickly and get a lot of of minutes right away um she may even be a short-term starter for a little while uh for this team and that's primarily because she is a solid solid Defender uh with decent post moves um at the basket with the caveat at the basket decent post moves at the basket um you know I I think that quinnegbo is going to fit in with uh the Washington Mystics and I think they're gonna use her quite a bit because as I said she's a good Defender um solid in terms of scoring though I think what they really need her for is is her body um they need her uh to clog up the paint and they need her to you know block shots and and to really be a a visible and physical threat on the defensive end I think that really is the benefit that Queen egbo um gives to the Washington Mystics and because of that I think I think they play her quite a bit and I think this really really does help her future career um just because she's going to get a chance to grow she's going to get a chance to be around um some very very very quality vets um and just we'll be able to hopefully Blossom from here Amanda Zahui B um so now on to uh the second part of this trade which is Amanda's Ally B so I think that the mystics primarily treated a minute as I would be because of her defensive presence uh Amanda zabibi is many things but I don't think anybody would call her a um a great defender or even a good defender in the league she's okay but she gets um she gets Exposed on defense um and if you know anything about the Washington Mystics you know that you know they're very serious about their defense um and Amanda Sally B can score she has proven in the past that she can't score she does have range she can she shoot it from three she can shoot mid ranges though this season she's been off um on her shot remember she didn't play in the league last season and so maybe that's why she's a little bit off um but her shot hasn't been falling though she can hit threes and mid-range shots um the mystics really just need a a better defensive presence down low and I think that's the primarily primary reason why they moved away from Amanda's alley B and so to wrap things up for this video I feel that both teams really got what they needed the fever got it big they can stretch the floor uh when she comes off the bench um in Amanda's alley B uh and the mystics got a more traditional big with solid defense uh so a win-win for everybody uh Queen egbo gets an opportunity for more minutes uh at least temporarily while um Shakira Austin is out and Amanda's Alibi is still on a roster you know she has an opportunity to continue to compete for a a uh a roster spot into next season so you know she will be elia's back up and she has a great opportunity to find a niche with the Indiana Fever because if if uh if Amanda's alley B can come in the game um wow Alia Bassett is out and stretched the floor I think that's a huge win where uh where players aren't just clogging up the paint on defense where you know uh the men's IB can shoot a three she can shoot a a uh a decent mid-range shot and so her Defender isn't just gonna be you know sagging in the paint when Amanda has the ball on the three-point line they have to move out to to guard her which means you're opening up the the uh the lane for you know Kelsey Mitchell to drive or like something something good to happen um for the guards and so I think this is a huge benefit for um the Indiana Fever because you don't have a like for like coming in right so Aaliyah Aaliyah boss is more of a more of a traditional big um of sorts and so the Defenders they're really going to pack the paint for Alia Boston um when Aaliyah Boston goes out before Queen egbo is a very similar player and so like again the defender is staying in in the paint now when Aaliyah Boston goes out out of the game you know that Defender is not staying in the paint that Defender has to move out with Amanda's alley B which just opens up the lane and so I think um this really really benefits um the Indian fever and also gives Amanda's I would be an opportunity to you know if if her shot can start dropping you know I I could totally see a situation where Indiana keeps her you know um for you know two or three plus years uh if her shot can fall and she can be consistent you know player to give you you know seven points a game uh coming off the bench for Leah Boston like I think if if Amanda's Abby can do that and play decent enough defense defense uh we all know that Amanda's Abby is not the best defender uh but if she can just be solid on the defensive end I think I think she really would find a a landing spot for uh in the Indiana Fever uh going forward um so yeah those are my thoughts another Amanda Saylor random note uh for Amanda Sally B with this trade she is now the first player in WNBA history to be traded three times in one calendar year which is just wild uh for a refresher she started she started the off season with LA having exclusive negotiating rights uh with them uh she was then sent to Las Vegas for the for dear Camby she was a part of that trade uh and then she was sent from Vegas to the Washington Mystics in exchange for multiple second round picks um and now she is sent to Indiana in exchange for Queen egbo so lots of transition for Amanda's alley beat uh she is also the eighth player in WBA history to be traded four times in their career no one has been treated five times SO trading is not um it doesn't happen all the time in the WNBA which is why you know this trade is the first trade of the Season or at least the first grade that I can remember but yeah that is
