all right uh give me three here we go ug players that are being overlooked all right I'm going to start here for first and foremost I don't know why sometimes that wants to come out of my mouth forced uh number three jakori Thomas and here's why jakori Thomas the rare Georgia defensive back that is a quality starter and a quality backup at two positions yes I feel I feel 100% confident off what I've seen and heard that if jakori Thomas had a start at safety opposite of Malachi Starks tomorrow they'd be happy they'd be fine it wouldn't be ideal right he's not g to start there right now looks like it's a battle between Dan Jackson Pope and KJ Balton but if they had to throw jakory Thomas out there they'd be okay he's winnable MH they had to play jakori Thomas at Star right now winnable like they're they're good they're going they're going to be satisfied they're not going to be like Fring jakori Thomas going out there against Tennessee if it had to happen tomorrow that's that's so valuable and so rare and such a uh uh of course and he's by the way he's like on the Leadership Council they gave him they gave him to the media this spring so like he is a trustworthy human and he's that at two different spots that's a tremendous tremendous value and I think it gets overlooked in this discussion every single time we talk about a really really loaded and deep defensive back room this other one is not overlooked by everybody else he's not undervalued by everybody else but he is constant L left out of conversations when I start rattling off this position group it's Aran Smith for some reason every single time I forget Aran Smith when I start rattling off names that need to have good years at the wide receiver position I mean [ __ ] I get to Anthony Evans before I get to Arion Smith I don't know what that is I don't know why my brain does that because there's nothing there's nothing out of the Intel there's nothing out of the film there's nothing out of except for the dropping of the ball there's nothing out of any of that that says aryion shouldn't have a good year Arion isn't a leader aran's one of the more voyous and and lead by example humans that they have on this roster from everything we've heard from both Kirby Smart and inside sourcing this spring so there's that um I think he gets overlooked by me specifically not I'm not saying uh nationally or the narrative inside the beat but I personally always forget him and I got to stop doing that so I'll put him on this list the other one that I I think gets overlooked it doesn't get talked about and this is fair cuz he's not on campus yet I think it's getting overlooked by every other Outlet I don't list and read anything else but I I don't know if anyone else is talking about Nate Fraser the way that they should correct I think Nate Fraser is going to play play I think Nate Fraser gonna get some run this year um and that's going to be important for this offense he's very very electric um so Nate Fraser my number one hey Yours Truly give him three who's up you going go next this time sounds good all right so the first player I have getting overlooked can I give a can I give a production note here when your teammates fill with water trying to get one go first take the ball the noise filling water it's right there trying be courtesy it's all good man it's all good sorry for being nice it's okay first one I'll give is he's not necessarily overlooked he's a starter on this roster has been for many years but I feel like in the wake of you know this kind of old CJ Allen's ran Smith Jr he's one of the best linebackers we've had smile mundon has kind of gotten not over not necessarily underrated but kind of looked past I mean he he could very well be a first round linebacker this season so I think that kind of necessarily he hasn't talked about as much as he should be I got the pressure gauge coming up next on on somebody in that room I like it I like it but no I'm with you smile just like watching how linebackers were drafted this year MH I think people Overlook how much uh a minor foot injury that he had to have surgery on this offseason kept him out of the draft that's whated that's why smile's coming back people will say it's nil people say he got a raise whatever that dude was a second round draft pick everyone knew it off the tape he wasn't and what he was going to do at the combine had he been healthy he just wasn't healthy he played all year last year banged up um I'm pretty sure he told the media he suffered that like second or third week of the Season then played through it and it really got worse right before Tech um I think it was Old Miss it got real real bad ended up playing against Tech and by the end of the year I mean his foot was in shambles right um so he played most of the Year banged up not even 100% himself so yeah people don't remember the 100% of him because they didn't get it last year at all correct next guy I'm just going to keep banging this drum until the 2024 season starts but dalen ever is being overlooked for the Bullock second I think he is one of the the clear-cut starters in that room where there's still a lot of questions as to you know who's going to get the run I'm sure they have answers by now but as of spring day we don't really know who the other corner is going to be outside of that I don't think they're going to have answers on who's on the opposite side of him until like game three makes sense but I think D ever is a guy that could very well have a great season and could kind of cement himself as that that Corner one for Georgia this year and then the last one is for the same kind of reasons that you put jakori Thomas in I think Dan Jackson gets overlooked Dan Jackson's kind of one of those guys you can plug him in anywhere on that back secondary whether it be safety free strong or even star so he's been there forever he knows what he's doing he's a great athlete and I know kind of everyone looks at him as you know a liability cuz you know the the sneaky athlete type thing but I think Dan Jackson is a very solid starter in that dude's got fifth round Kansas City chief draft pick written all over him especially after he runs a four 38 yeah 438 439 they're going to redo the turf and Indie this season so I think he's going run a little slower but 4 yeah that that dude's Gonna Roll and people are gonna be like oh my God then they're gonna have you you've seen Dan Jackson you've seen Dan Jackson people don't realize how big Dan Jackson is how much muscle mass is on Dan Jackson also I have a theory every great athlete and every really really truly great football player I've ever taken photos of they never have a bad photo in the catalog Mel Williams has never looked bad in the photo never once never once have I ever been like oh which one am I going to pick cuz they all look great um Anthony Evans never looks bad in the photo um this guy right here Dan Jackson every photo I've ever taken of him like God dang holy [ __ ] damn wood no I'm just kid too many jokes tonight too many jokes tonight I was too far but Dan Jackson good football player you couldn't even give me a pause hey yo y'all could even y'all we straight to too much all right I mean there's no pause that you just flat out said W I would be friends with Dan Jackson oh that's not what would a good guy it's not what wood means bro the chat gave me the pause that I was looking for go ahead that was all three yep y that boy give him three uh pressure gauge oh whoa whoa whoa whoa you were just saying go over to me I am I am 1,00% rattled right now well let me UNR you I never I never had these problems when I was by myself cuz I don't think I took as many swings by myself I take far far bigger Swings with you guys in terms of the joke category cuz I want to laugh to have a good time it's good to laugh and now I get you a little breather right here while I'll tell you my three players I went wide receiver room too but I did not go Arion Smith I went Michael Jackson the third because I think he is the most overlooked player in this transfer portter wide receiver class I think he looked good during the spring game I think specifically of how they used him in the spring game if that's how they want to use him in the season like of just let's Lally just give him the ball and see how it goes if he gets two or three plays of that throughout the year every single game then I would I think that's perfectly fine I think he could have a a good a memorable season because if he has that small sample size he makes some big plays people are going to remember Michael Jackson this season the second one Damon Wilson there's a lot of hype around him coming into last year I think this off season what has happened is obviously Gabe Harris had a tremendous spring game Michel Williams obviously people are going to talk about him samon Pima people are really wanting a breakout Year from samon pimba I think the same can be said for Damon Wilson I think I think a lot of people should be paying attention to him because there are so many names in that room and in that and on that defense that people are really wanting big years out of Damon Wilson no exception to that rule and then lost and lucky is my last one I think your your OIC and Oscar deler obviously going to be the onew punch there they're going to get the bulk of the Reps and but I think that jadden Rell coming in he had a really good spring up until his injury I think lawon lucky has kind of been shifted under those names and then too like I think last year when you saw him in games the game just looked way too fast at times like he just looked like he was out of control a little bit where that second year I think that's where you find some comfortability with him and he'll have a better year uh you mentioned Gabe Harris there in your second one oh by the way Jay will give him three um you mentioned Gabe Harris and we're getting to the point in my career CTE brain forgive me I'm going to say this a lot moving forward I don't know if I've told this story but I'm going to tell it again my first one of my first tours my one of my last stops in the spring was Valas because Gabe was there he had just transferred there and Shelton Felton had just I think he was in his second year down there at vasta after uh old Rush propes got ran out of there and Shelton so they go from rush to Shelton um two historically really good football coaches two totally different football guys both really hard-nosed coaches um the first time I saw gab practice walked everywhere everywhere didn't listen to a single coach head down uh two-minute drill where it's supposed to be competition period I mean walking walking on the field I was I was blown away and I was almost like Angry cuz like as someone who wasn't I'm not like I'm not 6'5 I'm I'm barely 6' one like barely 6' and a half maybe wasn't ever going to play Big Time football but I love football I loved playing I loved working out I loved working hard and I felt like when I got done I worked for every bit of it that I I did so when I see someone that is like Gabe Harris like all Georgia football players that play at the University of Georgia and are recruited like this guy was just handpicked by the Lord above to be an edge rusher 65 245 lbs just gorgeous extremely athletic his freshman or sophomore highlight tape the very first play on it is him covering kickoffs at 65 240 lbs this is who this human is so when I saw this level of effort I got like really almost like ill like angry just frustrated I drove all the way home just five and a half hours just sitting on it like godam he's going to waste it I saw that kid two months later and he was a young man at that point he's a kid I saw him two months later at an otaa that valasta came up to park viw to practice all these guette County 7A schools and they're in full pads he is playing football ball like his life depends upon it he is running every play down like his hair is on fire have not seen anybody play that hard sense he's at Georgia right now and when Kirby Smart talks about that kid he says we don't have anybody that plays harder than that dud that dude he hunts guys CH chambless is on the roster this is what this guy has turned into and the first time I ever saw him he was like one of the worst effort players I've ever seen and now he is akin to any like any practicer they've ever had at the University of Georgia I don't know what the point of that story is to tell you other than like don't ever fully label and fully eval a kid don't ever do it and definitely definitely see them twice you know so yeah that's my Gabe Harris story and I'll I'll tell that one multiple times I would imagine and story cuz it it reaffirmed like I said to me like you can't they're still 17 they hell some of them that you're seeing still might be 15 yeah you have no idea idea what might change what changes they might make
