For me the Utopia Conference is a wonderful format of courage. It takes courage for a university to say: We see science also as a service to society and we also want to listen. Especially when we have the impression that the future is slipping away from us in a different direction every other week, we sit down together and think, how would we actually like the future to be and how do we keep course? That always works better in company. Especially with the question of trust in utopia the question is actually Who is getting things done? Who is daring? Who takes risks and who is willing to fail? So do we live in a society in which people who have utopias want to be riskful because they know that if they fail, we will have their back? In this respect, I hope that we will see exactly that in Lüneburg.
