all right you're looking at a list of five of the major isps internet service providers here in the United States AT&T Charter T-Mobile starlink and Verizon we've had experience with these three we have not used starlink we have not used Verizon simply because Verizon is not available in our neck of the woods so I can speak about these three AT&T I would say one of the pros would be speed and that would go with Charter as well sometimes people call Charter Charter Spectrum or at least they call themselves that for these purposes I'm just going to call them Charter and we recently tried T-Mobile and my experience with T-Mobile is maybe just a hair slower than Charter but I would still give them speed in the speed category it's not slow we've had no trouble downloading or playing movies we do a lot of streaming generally when we watch TV it's streaming be it TV shows or movies and our experience with T-Mobile in the last week has been very positive we used to have Charter and that was a good source for streaming as well I can't speak for AT&T when we had AT&T it was about three or four years ago and AT&T crashed on us it was down for a full week I worked from home and that hurt me financially and so we kicked at to the curb and we were not only tasked with returning their equipment their router but then they dinged us at least on our credit report for not returning their equipment which was a lie we actually did but they never recorded it I had to call them and say yes you got your equipment back no we don't want your service anymore it sucks uh and it didn't matter that little ding stayed on my credit report for years and by the way to this day at& still sends door-to-door salespeople around our neighborhood probably because they suck to try to get new customers and we always tell them to get lost Charter we liked a lot but here's the problem with Charter it got really expensive it started off you know decent I think we first signed up for them maybe four years ago and it was about 40 bucks a month at the time now it's 90 bucks a month month it went well more than doubled and the service didn't change I mean it was good service when we first signed up and then it just got crazy expensive so we decided to switch to this guy T-Mobile and like I said we've had it for about a week now I've had no problems at all now here's the thing with T-Mobile if you don't already know their service is antenna base so they send you a router and all you do is plug it in now you need to treat that router like you would treat a TV antenna you need to you know put it up on a elevated portion of your home if you have a two-story home put it on a top floor and they recommend that by the way but if you don't have a two-story home like we do we just have a one-story home then just put it in you know a window where you're going to get good reception now I'm only going to put antenna in the bad column for T-Mobile just because it's kind of a it's a different situation than say these two these two are cable based where T-Mobile is antenna based now if you're running a business from home if you're doing a lot of Internet stuff that requires no downtime reliability and speed cable probably is a better bet for you you're going to pay a little more for it but that's the name of the game however with T-Mobile like I said our experience with streaming uh with T-Mobile has very been very positive and we signed up it's 50 bucks a month at the time of this video so we're paying almost half what we were paying for Charter so got to give it to T-Mobile we're going to stick with them we're going to kick Charter to the curve I don't have an experience with starlink I will say that one of the positives is it's run by this guy Mr Free Speech himself Elon Musk uh maybe down the road I'll sign up for starlink it's not in our budget right now but if I had a business I would certainly consider starlink by the way if you use an RV or a boat this is the one to go with they use satellite uh receptors I guess you could call them satellite dishes and you know they're shooting up satellites new satellites all the time to increase their internet coverage and by the way we live in Southern California we've seen a few of those Rockets go up and it's quite the site Verizon I can't speak to because I've never used it we simply don't have it in our neighborhood certainly I would price it out if you have it available for yourself check it out now these guys AT&T Charter and Verizon also have phone plans actually so does d-mobile now that I think about so four of the five have phone plans it's worth checking out cellular phone plans with these guys along with internet sometimes you can get a good package deal sometimes you can't but it's worth checking out so um I would put that in there and uh who knows probably Elon will have a phone land himself someday I wouldn't put it past him but for now these are the four all right let me throw a few more uh little tidbits on my spreadsheet here it should also be noted that with AT&T and Charter you need an installer to swing by and install the cable uh AT&T service as I touched on before is absolutely horrific uh starlink is not cheap but if you have a business or you're on the road you're in motion it's probably worth it so um there you have the highlights on these services and by the way I am not paid I not endorsing any one of them I have no Financial relationship with any one of these companies I'm just giving you my experience my family's experience with well certainly these three so take that for what it's worth as they say your mileage may vary hopefully this will help you while you're making decision with your ISP and if it did please subscribe to my other DIY videos and thanks for watching this one have a great day
