Intro oh baby what is going on mat ly back with another video and in today's video we're going to get into good old Nathaniel hacket as Conor Hughes was reporting that the New York Jets Jets tried to replace Hackett essentially tried to replace Nathaniel hacket they saw off season there's a long quote so bear with me but we're going to break it all down so here's the report from Conor Hughes of SNY says the Jets made quote a legitimate legitimate attempts this offseason to hire someone who would essentially replace Nathaniel Hackett not as a new offensive coordinator but a title above who would run the show the Jets had enough things they needed to address this offseason without replacing areas they're content with that Pursuit tells me internally there are legitimate concerns with hackett's ability to successfully run things it almost feels like the Jets are putting so much faith in Aaron Rodgers's ability to correct hackets wrongdoings sources spoke of many many times last summer where hacket called to play then Rogers changed it completely at the line they figure he can do the same come the regular season that's a lot to put on the plate of a player though even one of rogers's status this isn't the NBA if there's one major concern heading into the jet season it's that hacket is Is anyone surprised anyone surprised by this report did you watch my question if you are surprised would be did you watch the New York Jets play in 2023 if the answer is yes yes then you know that Nathaniel hackit was not very good at his job now things changed drastically when they went from Aron Rogers to Zack Wilson Tim Bole and Trevor Simeon as the quarterback play from someone like Rogers to those three is night and day but as the report states there were times throughout the Summer where Nathaniel Hackett was calling plays Rogers was changing it and that's the way that they were going to go now there is significant risk involved in doing things that way I'm not going to sit here today and deny that and say that it isn't a risk or a gamble to approach your offense that way my push back on the Jets being okay in this spot or or I guess my uh my stance on why I think there's a chance that Jets could be fine in this scenario is is because that's what the plan always was Nathaniel hacket is going to give the formations and Aaron Rogers is going to go to the line of scrimmage diagnose things and call the play essentially what they did in the one preseason game where they went right down the field on the Giants and put in a touchdown once again I'm not sitting here today in May of 2024 and telling you that you shouldn't be concerned about Nathaniel Hackett as a potential reason for the Jets to to fail this season it is a concern I am telling you that uh if you're speaking on issues the Jets can or could possibly face in 2024 at the top of the list is Aaron Rogers Health coaching and offensive play calling that to me is the biggest biggest factors in the Jets ceiling and floor this year they are gambling on Aaron roders to save them a little bit and is it unfortunate that the Jets weren't able to land someone I tend to lean yes I tend to think it would be better if the Jets had someone a senior person in here to check hack it a little bit but then you also get the flip side of the coin where there's too many cooks in the kitchen and it's really not an ideal situation uh with that many people uh involved in the process hacket outside Conclusion of Aaron Rogers has not been very good in his career that's just the reality of the situation I am not crazy confident in Nathaniel Hackett I am confident that in I am confident though in Aaron roders I think if the Jets are going to have success in 20124 it's because Aaron Rogers comes back and is an above average Quarterback again are there doubts because he's coming off an injury of course there is but there are few in NFL history with the football IQ that Aaron Rogers has for all of his faults and whatever you want to come up with on on things that you could potentially be down on Aaron roders with one of those things is certainly not his football IQ diagnosing defenses and calling plays that much I trust Aaron Rogers with hackit not so much but I'm hoping to limit his role do I want hackit here here after Aaron Rogers is gone hell no nobody should nobody would but for right now I'm okay with it is it my favorite setup in the world no I would love to have someone else in here but I'm not surprised by this report and neither should you if any anyone who paid attention last year should not be surprised by this report let let me know your thoughts Down Below in the comments I'm Matt oi I'll catch you next time a
