Seattle Seahawks vs Tennessee Titans let's go so who should start in Seattle Sam Hal or Gino Smith today we're going to take a look at Sam Hal's preseason game versus the Titans this last week and at the end of the video I'm going to Sam Howell fumbles give you an unbiased take I don't like or hate the Seahawks uh at all so Sam Hal takes a sack this is the biggest criticism in his game is that he is maybe the most sackable quarterback in NFL history and then he makes matters even worse turning the football over and if the Titans are cut this it's it's at least three points going the other way now was this Sam how's fault no okay I know he locks in and yeah you can make a case that you just need to move uh things quicker the first thing is nothing is open absolutely positively nothing this is a receiver I I think he's out of Lenor Ry I forgot his name he falls down okay normally the game is moving too fast if a player falls down uh during the course of a play Then Kenny McIntosh from Georgia uh I don't know how much pass protecting he did he did at Georgia this is one of the worst pass sets I have ever seen from a running back because he trips his own left tackle you have got to get the hell out of his way get out the way left tackle trips here and 92 is able to bull rush him to the ground all right what can Sam do about this could he throw this away right here could he just throw it up all the routes are deep okay yeah you just got to eat the sack and not cost yourself a turnover or what you have to do in this situation is quickly realize that nothing is open and you just need to tuck and run or just eat it you've got to be able to protect the football but this was just an absolutely positively ugly rep all right it's third in Olympia here and man the you can't really do anything about this Sam how tries to find something open down the field what I normally like to do in this situation is just hit this just hit this gain some field position nothing you're not picking this up I also don't mind in theory just rolling out to the right side buying some time and seeing if something is open down the field I love that 38 is like hey I am wide open let's make this dangerous Cross Field pass all the way over here on Broadway Street uh but still uh this isn't bad you just I mean the sack just ended this drive all right so I don't like calling out players by name you Drive #2 know outside of the quarterback because you know everyone knows the QB uh 66 this might be the absolute worst pass set I have ever seen okay he first off gets help in terms of a chip from the tight end and then he leans has really really really bad body leverage right uh I was a pass rusher and I loved it when lineman just reached their arms out and leaned because anyone with any decent pass rush Arsenal knows all you have to do is just slap that elbow close to the joint and use his leveraged against you and that is a really good rip move but that's more of a bad pass set I like Anthony Bradford lot is one of my LSU guys but that's not on him that's on an absolutely awful awful right tackle uh right there and Sam Hal how is still able to complete this that is ridiculous especially considering he started off on this play looking straight center field and then worked all the way back to the comeback to the right side as a six foot nothing quarterback guy right in his face throws it with a lot of velocity right on target this is really really really good stuff from Sam really really good stuff okay they're bringing a blitz you're an empty so you're going to be outnumbered this is now a good job by the offensive line because if you're going to let someone be free you want the outermost guy to be free Sam how decides to throw directly into the blitz this is a good job also uh by Ryan grub who I'm really high on to have uh a nice check right here guy just stops displaces the Blitzer and that's just easy yards to move the chains that is simple football but 12 Personnel right here on this third and two and you motion a guy out here to the left all right and this is just really really good quarterbacking here from Sam okay they decide to leave the outermost guy free again okay and Sam how sees it and he wants to try and throw in the direction of it again there is a miscommunication he sees this 88 opening wide open over here so Singham decides to do something very clever just Sprint as hard as you can forward right sometimes that's the best thing to do when there's a lot of edge pressure 66 is getting beat again so you step up into this pocket and Sam even could have ran for this he throws it and has a wide openen tight end on the coverage bus right here okay now 88 let's see if you can do something are you a playmaker or you just a tight end that's taking up space he just a tight end that takes up space huh h Huh kidding good run all right so uh as an LSU Guy this is something they do a lot of okay motioning the tight end at the snap and having him essentially be the lead blocker okay some call this a Wham I think a Wham is just a little bit more Central but whatever the case may be tight end man that's really good stuff I'm telling you I understand I come you know from a college background I freaking love me some Washington Huskies offense and I'm glad Ryan grub was the guy that they hired this is a really good run and this time in 12 Personnel you're split zoning this tight end block down block down let's get a wash going this way this is really good stuff from this line we need this tight end to come around and get physical and this is a really good read by this running back this in decides to cut to the inside or in theory wrong arm it and this is a good job by the running back reading this good job by the tight end reading it to also squeeze him down and this RB gets into the space love this design uh right here all right so we get the Sam hows touchdown safety at the snap was over this hash it looks like during the snap he went center field Sam how knows Touchdown! he has press coverage and a go route here and even if the safety is slightly shap over here if you feel good enough with your arm and you throw the football um you know you know when you're throwing a go one thing I've seen from quarterbacks is you don't want to throw the football as much vertically you kind of want to make it at an angle where it's going on this upfield shoulder away from the safety that is really good ball location bang okay uh what's his name ESOP Winston junor I I know he's a a Washington State husky really good throw really good catch now this is mesh okay you're running two Red Zone Miss shallow drags there's a hook there's a rail right here so let's see what happens um this is a really good defense to run versus mesh okay you want you want to be in zone versus mesh okay this isn't there to Jake Bobo they do a good job passing this off you could see the communication right there but 88 does a good job right here sitting he's right unless there's someone right here we can't see all right but he takes his eyes off of it now normally the reads on mesh is one to two to three okay it's not an easy progression at all Sam did feel some pressure okay let's bring this back but it's it's a pocket right it's a pocket that he could have reset his feet and thrown this okay also this could have been thrown and you just give a guy a chance to make a play right here okay but instead he tries to run this in sometimes I feel he thinks he's too much of a playmaker with his mobility and he he takes a sack Sam Hal this is re really good Jake Bobo quarterbacking now one thing working against him is a time there's only 20 seconds left to go in this half but you still you know have to pick up this first down to keep the drive going good protection from the offensive line I'm telling you right now Anthony Bradford can play I know I'm biased but he can play all right now really good throw as well okay looked a little bit behind him I want to show some love to Jake Bobo I'm a huge Jake Bobo guy all right big fan of watching at UCL like watch this route right here this is nasty good job staying patient bang Skip to My Lou Jake Bobo and then he doesn't cheat the route notice how he is still selling vertical before in Breaking right because if you would have just broke in the DB would have been able to G gain ground on you quicker that's really good stuff and yeah I mean it's not like Justin Jefferson level Cuts but it's really really good and receiver coaches feel free to correct me if it's an offensive League now I guess okay let's first shout out Ryan grub I love Ryan Grubb Stat this stat most pre-at motion of anyone so far in the preseason why don't teams do pre- stamp motion okay the only excuse in the modern game to not do it is if you're running the hurry up all right unless you're doing that you should pre-ap motion so this is going to make life a lot easier on a Seahawks offensive line that a lot of people feel isn't really all that good but I'm going to be honest I I still think Gino should be the guy I I I like this team and I can't wait to see Ryan grub go
