DevilsDigest TV: QB Sam Leavitt discusses his upcoming first start for ASU

over these last couple days watching the film play and watching at least what their progession going to be like feel like at least now yeah it's been really refreshing going from Fall Camp to be able to you know game plan for a new team and watch film and uh talk about the looks that we like and be able to come out here and then see him live and you know just game planning is super fun uh and then when you get him in that looks and our a to capitalize on it it's my favorite part so know I feel really good constantly just trying to grow watch more film and you know understand what we like certain checks and everything like that but no I'm super excited and prepared is it starting to hit you now that it's game and that we're only so few days away like how how much is it excitement or nervousness yeah a little bit I mean I try not to think about it like that too much every time it's just the same you know it's the same as Spring ball it's the same as fall Camp every single day you know you're trying to be the best you can so I'm trying not to focus on you know what's ahead of me it's just day by day taking it uh you know and when those nerves come and you know that's my that's why I play this game so I'm super excited for that U when I run out under the tunnel out of the tunnel I'll worry about that then but know right now just getting better what does it mean to be the start of this team came here do that and to get the job to lead this team what does that mean yeah it means a whole bunch you know it's a testament to the work that I put in uh but now I got to go put on for my team and be the person that you know everybody expects me to be and that I need to be for the for not only the players and the coaches but the whole fan base and uh everything like that so uh you know understand what I got to do and hold myself to a higher standard now and you know just become the more mature person and everything like that what ways can the the helmet communication be an advantage that didn't exist before oh I mean you know you got to have constant dialogue with your coach I can't speak back but uh you know when get out there and if you get if you get there lined up before the play clock hit hits 20 then you know we got to talk about certain looks and um he's able to say you know check to this play and you know he's able to alert you and everything like that rather than seeing signals on the sideline or you got to huddle up or run back and forth so you know it makes all the difference in the world do you think fres is been to here like have you done that before before any of this no it weird to get used to or uh I mean the first couple days but we've done it since spring now so uh you know it's a lot of fun and uh yeah I mean just like the NFL so just preparing me for that you think it is a big difference a big Advantage oh yeah 100% you know not only for offense but for defense as well so you know certain things we're going to um do and sorry I'm not trying to give up too much but uh yeah no it's definitely an advantage on both sides you know coaches are able to see it in the box and make a check right there it's support you can't tell us everything right yeah exactly keep going communication has helped you understand the game plan better uh I mean I wouldn't say game plan so much but he's able to just give you reminders you know hey in this play alert this you know so rather than you know known every single thing like that which you probably still do at the end of the day you know it's just another reminder and um you know it's going to be really beneficial and you know you might forget that those two times a game to oh yeah I forgot to alert that you know so it's going to be a lot of fun you guys have talked about proving people wrong and showing what you guys are as a football team guess what's the feeling like knowing you guys finally get a chance to do that come to sat that you finally get to get out there and play some business yeah um I don't know it's it's pretty it's pretty exciting I mean you know I don't even know what our team's capable of yet but uh I see it in practice and um I know what we can do uh once we get out there it's going to be a different story and I'm really excited to see how people respond and that's one of the main things we talk about with Coach Dillingham is just response and our team's done such a good job of that since Spring ball till now you know in every aspect of life so uh I'm just really excited to get out there awesome thank you
