New York times.com this is the headline you'll see for this particular game so Ziggy tell us where are we going first what's the headline on Monday this is a uh this is gonna be an interesting little bit of a headline so you know everybody's excited it's Los Angeles the Rams versus Jared Goff and the line lions and it's a tight game right you're looking at the spread it's like I think the lions are slight favorites this game could go either way yeah three and a half Point favorites not a big deal you got Matthew Stafford coming healthy Cooper cup puka nula all of that none of that matters nobody cares about this Los Angeles Rams team they've lost Aaron Donald and that is going to matter because the headline you are going to see Monday morning mvg most valuable golf I think that this will be the game where Jared gof he's been fed up man how many good offenses has he been the engine of and he's never gotten any respect right it's Shawn McVey made him it's uh the Lions made him J Gibbs yeah yeah this is the thing right you go to freaking Detroit and you light it up and people are saying that the team and the culture made you who you are it's ridiculous Jared gof puts a stamp on this game the Rams defense can't control him missing Aaron Donald goth goes for 400 yards multiple touchdowns and people finally have to take this guy seriously so it sounds like instead of mvg should be MFG you know if you know there and I agree with you I I I I I typically do uh I get I guess I to two two our picks in the uh yeah you can talk about go ahead but I I typically do like to stay away from games where there's that uh Revenge Factor who knocked you out but this Lions team to me is probably the best team in the NFC maybe number two and there was a maybe the NFL like there was yeah there was a whole lot of of pressure on them last year in the playoffs so I felt to come out and perform home playoff game let's see let's see what happens and they were awesome that pressure is now behind them I think this team is now embracing the fact that they're coming into this year ready to roll with the entire city back on their back I think they make a statement I really I think they make a statement Big Time week I think this Rams defense has a hard time stopping them at all well last year too was a bit of a bit of shock almost like all of Detroit was going holy crap like we're in the we're in the playoffs we're hosting a playoff game this hasn't happened we won a playoff game we won a play we won two playoff gam yeah right they're up 17 in the NFC championship game it's still kind of felt like all right this is this is cute like the lions like these are the you know the the lowly Detroit Lions are are potentially going on a Super Bowl run and I think that within that entire organization now it's not in the fan base you know it's not oh I'm shocked we made this run this year the approach is oh we're we're we're really effing good let's go win the Super Bowl yeah and to come out Embrace that there's is something special about having that first game too of of their hopeful super Super Bowl campaign being against Matthew Stafford like this little rivalry that's starting to spark up between the Rams and and the Lions you kind of feel it uh it's fun after the the wild card game last year I think this is this is just a great great game for the NFL to schedule Sunday Night Football week one uh and I'm with you guys I think Detroit is probably the most well-rounded team in the NFL but I will say despite despite all all the great things we could say about the Lions Matthew Stafford played really good football last year and pukaa was amazing Iron Williams emerged Cooper cup is healthy I think Cooper Cup's going to have a really good season like we can't Overlook we can't just get caught up in the lion hype and forget that the Rams were what a holding penalty away from probably winning that game having a game-winning field goal and perhaps going on an NFC championship Super Bowl run of their own so so I'm with you that I think Detroit's better and Detroit will ride the momentum in the crowd but this is like this Rams team they're very very good as well and they're they're going to need to overcome the loss of Aaron Donald on defense and Detroit might be able to expose that in week one um but this Rams team could have a really good season as well well they've had a sour taste in their mouth now for for months and months and months uh I mean yeah they're circling this game yeah I I I wish this game you know for their sake and from a betting standpoint was not in forward field uh because I think that makes it that much tougher but I think the NFL couldn't have done a better job with this game in the night slot Sunday night 8:20 totally agree and Matthew Stafford against you know a new secondary Terry arold first start Carlton Davis first start with Detroit like this this is this a new Lions defense that that should be really good by the end of the year yeah well that's that's been the big question right all offseasons the lions are saying they've finally figured out the secondary but you wonder have you really it's not as easy as just getting some guys on your team and making it work so I'm excited that there will be this chance I know a lot of these guys are young they're it's week one weird things always happen week one but I can't say I'd be lying if I said I weren't really excited to see what they're going to be able to bring out this week and just see like can they actually the Rams are a huge Challenge and the Rams if the Rams win this game as well that completely changes the narrative on them like like like people people are wondering if last year was maybe the the farewell for Stafford to some degree like like and they're going to regress this season if they come out and beat Detroit in Detroit week one that's a Super Bowl team in La if the rims can win this game we'll be here on the reaction show along with most other people who watch the sport saying this team can go to the NFC Championship Game 100% And that's crazy that even if if they lose by one point you know that we still should be sitting here saying this Rams team is amazing they of course felt like they had last year they had that had that game this is gonna be a great one I'm excited for this one uh for sure yeah I I'm excited for this most of all cuz this feels like two teams that in the offseason discussion have mostly just been forgotten everybody's talking about that Dak Prescott and the Cowboys everybody's talking about Jaylen Herz not everybody but a lot of people including us are talking a whole lot about Jordan love everyone wants to see what the 49ers are doing right and like you list all these teams in the NFC Kurt Cousins and the Falcons you don't really hear anything about the lions that went to the championship game you don't hear a whole lot about Matthew Stafford who can play at an MVP level in a great offense these are two teams that as weird as it is to say given it feels weird to say us about the Lions but I think it's true they're sneaky contenders what do you mean wait wait wait wait the lions are sneaky contenders for the sneaky in so far as who's talking about this Lions team as a real Contender I know what the markets say right but I disagree I think a lot of people are talking about them as contend go go to ESPN look at First Take how many segments are they running about the Lions versus how many segments are they running about the Eagles and Cowboys yeah there's not a lot of people who talk about it but every everyone agrees Detroit is a top three team in the NFC I bet you I'm not sure that's true but they'll have a chance to prove it I bet you FOX Sports Detroit suck a lot B don't know the Rams at the Lions Detroit a three and a half Point favorite on Sunday Night Football the rematch I uh I got Detroit making a statement we're back we're back again give me those uh those who's back give me those mtown Lions Detroit is I actually I really want to take the Rams something deep inside me calls out to this team please this game has a feeling to me like that uh Kansas City Rams game back in h 2018 no but I think the outcome's going to be flipped Detroit Lions win not that game I was up 90 points in a fantasy football game 90 points going into that I don't want to hear that that game was a very meaningful game to the Thousand Oaks Community I don't want to hear it that was horrible I played against Mahomes Tyreek hill and gley in that game I can tell you what was horrible I'm going with the lions in this one um this will be close again though I don't I actually would not pick them to cover I think Detroit wins by three it's just so I mean they could yeah I'm picking Detroit I'm picking Detroit to win by three it's a close game the uh hey what was 2421 last time 2423 a one I'm not going to bet on the Rams I'm not betting on it was a onepoint game 2423 would have covered yeah yeah I'm sorry yeah I'm not I'm not betting on on L on that but I'm Lines by a field goal fial say I would bet on it [Music]
