welcome to Lawrence Kansas and pay heed all who enter and beware these shhawks can play a little football too we have a ranked versus unranked battle coming up here and you know how chaos can ensue if they start smelling it upet as we'll see a squad from the Mountain West the unlb rebels taking on the 21st rank team in the land the Kansas j-hawk for EA Sports college football I'm Rees Davis joined here in BO as always by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer guys let's te this one [Music] [Applause] up the rebels will kick it away to [Applause] [Music] start the returner will field it and bring it back he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 The Jayhawks offense will start this game off and as we watch this wide re receiver come onto the field when you have a dude like this you find ways to get him the ball over and over again no matter what the defense tries to take away yeah because the defense can't win whether you double team him we're still going to win and they're going to give him the ball and quick passes they're going to throw deep and they're going to take advantage of him every opportunity they can they will feed him they will feature him because he's just that good try to get the edge with a quick touch pass finally pulled down but not four moving the change for a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs the give sweet cut there ripping off a pretty good chunk of yardage they've got it out to the 41 with a first down and the j-hawks come to the line with a fresh set of downs really nice run there good solid pickup and they'll move the sticks for the first down this defense is have to do a better job slowing down the Run we've seen twice now in this opening drive this guy break one and so this defense has to do a better job at the point of attack and their d-coordinator probably is already thinking to himself why have to get another guy in the Box to slow this guy [Applause] down running back searching for a hole sometimes in your playbook you have run plays that are called run it run so you leave the play on no matter what look the defense gives you that time defense was blitzing but they just kept the play on that is an attitude type run that you can run into any kind of look and it paid off he'll be brought down at the three yd line an explosive play in the passing game has him on the doorstep re you and I were talking about this before the game how is this defense going to be able to deal with all the speed they have offensively you saw them just rip off a big play and Jesse now their head's spinning just a little bit give up a big chunk play and it's right back at [Applause] him looking to throw it's Daniels going for six and he was trying to pay off this Red Zone opportunity but it's incomplete got nothing last time now second and goal from the three trying to power it in he pushes it forward all the way to the two yd line and they've been able to get within two yards now will they try to throw it in for the score [Applause] and he takes it in for the score touchdown Kanas I really love that first drive by the offense it always seemed like it were just one step ahead of the D and a nice job they down close the defense knew they were going to run the football being more physical running it in on third down to get the [Music] touchdown they'll try to attack one more on [Applause] score and the pat makes it seven nothing so a scoring drive there of 83 yds and finish the deal with the short touchdown run from the two what kind of field position can he help them with on the return he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 so you lb's offense will try to get something going going with their first possession this match up on the outside Jesse a big play weapon for the offense a shut down corner for the Deep they say big time players make big plays in big games so who gets the best of this match up that's going to determine the game I mean such a fun chess match how much are they on each other during the game the head-to-head matchup that everybody wants to see looking for a physical attack from the gun and he fights his way forward gets away from one but not much doing on that one a third and long coming up here looking to throw it's sluka fires to the wide out to spot in the middle and he was loose and not Stu until he gets to the 47 yd line nice play design on that one you make it easy for your quarterback too because it's easy to see what's happening right in front of you over the middle of the field you can see where Defenders are dropping you can see where the soft spots are in zone coverage and just a really nice job by the QB locating his guide making an accurate play they'll throw it on first down got it in the middle it's Thompson they make the stop right there good pick up and still short of the first down second [Applause] it's complete to the right open space at the 25 he stopped just short of the goal line at the one an explosive play has him set up and as a defense how scary is it having to defend this guy he's one of the fastest players in America and you saw it on that last play it's not necessarily throwing him the ball over your head they just get it to him quickly the hard part now is running and tackling that guy not easy to do off the play fake on first down wants to throw and he's sprinting he'll take it all the way touchdown Rebels having a playmaker like that can get the offense out of just about any situation no doubt he can roll right he can roll left he can do whatever he wants and buy time and throw the football but you have to defend everything you have to defend pass you have to defend run and you have to defend plays that aren't even called so good luck stopping this cab getting set for the point after on for the extra [Applause] point and it's perfect so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they capped it off with a one yd punch after that latest answer tied things up just about set to kick it away again he'll start the return inside the spot he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Kansas gets the ball back and the jhawk offense is ready to go to work looking for space it's Neil on the move at the 30 he will step out of bounds but not before the pin pick up and a first down for this offense they're going to ride this running back nice move there and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pickup personal foul unnecessary [Music] [Applause] defense the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the [Applause] penalty from the gun the G looking for room he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and here comes the offense on second [Applause] down wants to throw it's Daniel they're setting up the screen and he'll run across the sidelines after the good game and they got the completion but still looking at a third down thir from the gun wants to pass pulls it in it's Kenner he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down the j-hawks are on the Move wide receiver shows motion they're threat threatening to score and they'll throw it looking for the End Zone fires into traffic pick off you can't give points away when you're a QB you have to understand I got to be aggressive and it's tough in the Red Zone because those are really tight windows but man the one thing I cannot do is turn the football over I got to make sure I get points really poor decision great play by the defense UNLV ready to go back to work on offense how big is this drive scored a touchdown the last time they had it defense gets a stop and now it's up to them in a tie game all right so if you're the offensive coordinator here let's dial it in who are your best matchups and best Playmakers to take advantage of this golden opportunity yeah and I'm interested to see this defense too like the momentum is clearly not in your favor how do you get it back how do you make a big play do you be more aggressive to try to get the football back to your offense so they're facing third and short from the 25 they'll give it to the back tough sliding in there picks up a couple but still needs two more on fourth down and the rebels will putt this one [Applause] away looking for a block it's Wilson that's a perfect example of not settling for a fair catch pick up whatever yardage you can and help out the offense off the play fake on first down to throw got him downfield just gashing this defense a big gor to the 40 yd line fresh set of downs after the [Applause] completion from the gun he leaves it with the back and he's brought down after a nice gain now on First and 10 from the [Music] [Applause] 27 and on second down for this offense up out of the gun the running back has it finally stopped at the 20 yd line after a pick up of six a manageable distance on third down as they try to convert from the 20 quick pass on the jet motion got enough space touchdown Rock chop and they'll put that scoreboard operator to work and put six on the board quarterback's ability to read the field is huge and also the anticipation of time to be able to throw the football Jesse and hit a guy in stride so he can get run after the catch and get in the end zone that was a nice job by the qu yeah it's critical David listen a lot of times touchdown passes aren't thrown into the end zone You' got to read the coverage hit the open guy and let him do the rest and the extra point is cre and they're on top by seven a very efficient five Place scoring drive and they close the deal with a 20yd pass for Six and he takes this from inside the five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the UNLV offense ready to return to the field the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse they just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that way able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage now now on third down for this offense to the air it's sluka oh they really could have use that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down the rebels send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away fair catch called for and made offense getting set for first down [Applause] they'll keep it on the ground to the right finding a way to put that foot in the ground and get it up to the 37 yd line halfway there on first down it's second and five off the play fake this senior quarterback a little too bold there and he's lucky he didn't get picked off throwing into double coverage snap from the gun on third down makes the grab it's Arnold good job St running that route to get past the sticks because he got nothing after the catch off the play fake on first down to throw he's got an open man the express way is wide open right out of bounds after the long game but they've got it now first and goal well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this game and the j-hawks will try to put one on the board on first and goal here's the snap looking to throw snags it he's down at the one and they almost had the touchdown pass on that one motion from the offense def quarterback flips it ahead quickly to the receiver and the Hallelujah man touchdown Rock CH JW defense has to be better on the back end they knew this offense was going to come out and they were going to challenge them they were going to try to push the ball vertically down the field they've now given up two touchdown passes in this game they've got to shore up their play in the back half he'll try to tack on one more [Music] and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further finding up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Applause] drive on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 guys the Running Rebels offense ready to go back to work boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah in the last Drive nothing really clicked no rhythm got off the field really really quickly they need to put something together here yeah they had bad execution on that last drive so they got to take a collective breath and start playing like a unit on this drive slams into the pile he'll get one to the 17 now on Third and 10 if they can move the chains here maybe they can get this drive started looking to throw it's sluka he off one deep down the left side and that'll be incomplete they certainly weren't afraid to take a shot there and now it's fourth down and the rebels will call on their punt team they'll look to pin him deep he will signal for the fair Catch and take it just inside the 35 let's see what this offense has dialed up this time he waste no time and comes out throwing trying to make magic with his feet and he gets out of there and gets some yard J gets down without taking any punishment now from the 48 yd line it's first and 10 hand off from the shotgun he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple line getting set on second down he's looking to throw he's got his man he's brought down solid pickup but a little bit short of the first down line is set on third down third from the gun wants to pass quick strike complete they make the Stop and that'll bring the first quarter to a close that's the end of the quarter Kansas has the lead here really strong performance so far to be able to build a lead here in the first period as we look at the [Music] stats they largely dominated the first quarter in bu a nice lead to get started The Jayhawks are rolling down the field quarterback on the keeper picks up the first down and the defense finally makes the stop after the sweet run and good game they've moved it to the 19 first and 10 in the red area it's Neil there to stop him after a pick up of three it's down to the 15 after the three yd pickup they come to the L second and seven he's looking to throw complete they're able to get him stopped just shy of the first down Mark game really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal on Third and short just trying to get enough up for the first down and he picks up the first down and he does it I'm not going to say spin move that was a it was elegant it was [Music] beautiful he'll pull it on the read touchdown J Hawks and they take it in for six more points and I tell you what I'm not unless I got a guy that can do something like this in the quarterback spot I need an athlete I need a little bit of Mobility just dictates too much to the defense QB runs in for [Music] six ling up to attack one more on on to that [Applause] lead and the extra point is true and the lead balloons to 21 almost ready to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown he'll bring it back from inside to SP didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 unlb ready to go back to work on offense they're down by 21 points but you get a touchdown here and you do at least apply a little game pressure Jess it's true I think for them to get back in this one at this point now they need the quarterback to play his best football he's going to have to be good really pre- snap David making sure they're in the right looks and he's got to be really good with this decision Mak he's got to be dowed in because defensively you're giving up points so it's not like you have the luxury for defense playing great the offense is going to have to score and score pretty good the rebels come to the line in the hurry up to the ground to try to move the chains and he just needed a few inches and he didn't get it the defense denies this offense fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way running it back it's Wilson coverage team was down there to Corral him they made the Stop and they'll mark it at the 39 and now the offense will come onto the field again makes the grab over the middle oh there might have been trouble if they hadn't knocked him down so quickly I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive game now on second [Music] down they'll leave it with him and The Jayhawks GED up for the first down here's his offense with a fresh set of [Music] [Applause] down caught in the back field it's skanner he's brought down quickly minimal gain there still a bit short of the first down kept it on the ground last time bringing up a second down one running back in the back field and he has it they'll wrestling down just short of the first down I don't even think they're going to bring out the change to measure this one after the last run would you just give it to him again on third down trying to get to him he makes the catch and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunck of yardage is picked up the magic bean is spinning out of control already over 200 yds in the first half yeah they're being aggressive offensively throwing the football trying to take advantage of this defense on the back end and they've got their quarterback right now in it roof back to the ground game on the left they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one lost yardage on that last one it's second and [Applause] 11 scanning the field it's Daniels now he's going to Glide away from pressure and the quarterback was trying to extend the play and the defense brought it to a close we're only in the first half already this guy's got two TD passes so you could see the defensive coaching staff on the sideline telling this D line guys we got to get after this guy we have to affect his rhythm and not let him be so comfortable back there right there they were able to get after him let's see if they can keep it up seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down he's looking downfield to throw grabbed in the middle it's Morrison and he's not going to make it the defense it's denying him the first down and now on fourth down they'll try a field goal he splits the upright and put three on the board and now the leads extended [Music] to1 they keep pushing that lead out and the kickoff team's getting some work on the run from inside his own five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 the UNLV offense ready to return to the field they face a pretty tall mountain here Jesse down 24 but if they're going to climb it it's too good time to start sense emergency's got to be big right here you just get the feeling at this point of the game but they've got to score on this drive obviously their defense needs to get stops but at this point offensively they've got to execute much better they got to be super aggressive down 24 you're going to need three touchdowns three two-point conversions everything to kind of go your way so fast and throwing in the football throws for the tight end got his man downfield he's got first down yardage as they move it to the 44 That's What's So Scary About This offense they've got guys in the perimeter that can change the game in one single play and you saw it right there too much speed on the perimeter to create that explosive play and the rebels will line it up on First and 10 here's the handoff and he does a really nice job finding open space and making a good game before the stop is made on the option he'll toss it finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down the rebels are moving quickly down the field one man in the back field and he gets it going to be a gain of about three down to the 21 got three on first down it's second and [Applause] seven r s and fires complete to the right they're able to keep him out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the two after the big play in the passing game on the they move the tight end all over don't try to power it in and he takes it to the house touchdown unlb Big Time touchdown there to get some much needed momentum you got to find something right who you going to go to to make that big play to get you back into it you're not back in it yet it's not it's not tied you're not there yet but you're starting to hch back into it and get some momentum going and it looks as if they've buzzed down replay wants to have another peek at that last play so the officials take a closer look in the replay Booth will overturn the call they go right back to their man on second and goal going right back to the well and this time he finds water gets it into the enzone for the touchdown follow the blockers the offensive line will take you to the Hallelujah land and I tell you what most of the time Reese it requires a little bit of skill to find that hole and you know Slither through a little crack that was not a crack that was wide open didn't take a lot of vision cuz the blocking was outstanding [Applause] and with the extra point they're down 3114 he marched 78 yd down the field and it was closed out by the short yardage touchdown here he comes from inside his own five and the return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be tack the Kansas offense returns to the field they'll go to the ground now they've got Breathing Room got six all the way out to the 20 got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four looking for space it's Neil defense there to stop him after a gain of one to the 22 let's see what they do on third down they'll try to run for it it's a game of first downs and they've got one after their own 37 here's this offense with a fresh set of [Music] downs pulls and fires it complete to the right put it right on him sweet play good pick up and they'll move the chain for the first down first Kansas from the gun running back gets to give Gun Room at the 35 he works his way inside the 30 down to the 29 and picks up a first down used the play fake now to throw catch in the middle it's Arnold they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker out of the shotgun they go to the ground there to stop him after a pick up of one to the 2 two it's third down now they ought to be able to get off one more play before the two-minute warning back to pass it's Daniels he makes the connection really confident throw and catch there big kick up and they have a first down he's looking to throw touchdown Canon and they add six more to the board with that trip for the house clock will stop stop with this timeout from the offense they'll get a chance to regroup on the [Music] [Music] sideline now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic and the extra point will tack another one on this lead about to kick it off after punching it in for the [Applause] touchdown he'll start the return inside his SP he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 guys the Running Rebels offense ready to go back to work they're going to open this drive with a pass a little screen to the running back he's right out of bounds but a big play off on that one and it'll be a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs LS to throw on first down unloads to the wide out incomplete thanks to the great defensive pressure there that sort of FW them out of rhythm ball still spotted at the 34 it's second and 10 pressure coming that's it Fly got his man knock down immediately but a big gain down to the 45 at 45 and that's good enough for a first down he wants to throw it again can't quite make the connection there might have let him a little too much after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down throws to the wide out he's got it and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chain and I love the awareness by the wide receiver on that play because I'm not sure that route was supposed to be that deep you got to wonder if the receiver decided maybe to adjust the route a little bit to make sure that he got the first down and the rebels have it with a first and 10 and the quarterback runs out of time and down he goes at the 38 oh it's a missed opportunity you know the quarterback was excited he saw man coverage he thought he was going to have an opportunity to come up with a big play but up front they could protected the rebels racing to the line in the hurry [Music] up looking for a man it's sluka fires to the wide out makes a connection down he threw that one with some serious Heat this senior quarterback doesn't need a lot of space to get it in there he's looking to throw it and the physical play there forces the inom completion on first down they put this ball on lock down eightth play of the drive coming up he's looking for an open man on second down this time he's got it there's a timeout call as this offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer and the rebels have pushed it inside the 20 they'll try to get it through the air and with the completion out to the sideline they'll pick up CP now on fourth down they'll try to come away with [Applause] three BR up absolutely perfect well you're always going to wonder what would have could have should have happened on Fourth and inches had they gone for it but with this kicker I like taking three points and putting it on the board [Music] so they put the field goal on the board and about to kick it away and hoping that'll be the final points of this first half and he takes this from inside the five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 Kanas gets the ball back and the jhawk offense is ready to go to work wasting no time throw on this drive excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away still at their own 20 after that last incompletion it's second and 10 to the air it's Daniels fires to the big fella he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short one step coming before they head to the locker room they'll knock him down and that'll take us to halftime first half in the books time now to Jo Kevin Connors in our halftime update all right fellas looks like we've got a great atmosphere there today in Lawrence and there is no better place to start this halftime than by reviewing how this wide out has been a Onan Wrecking Crew the kid's been everywhere and I love how he's willing to go across the middle but that he also has the Jets to burn these DBS on the Deep ball if this defense wants to actually come back in this one they better hide his cleats and with that let's kick it back to the guys at Kansas Memorial Stadium kickoff team is on the field they'll try to drive this one deep and he hauls it in and everybody's on the edge of their seats not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 unlb ready to go back to work on offense they'll start the third quarter with the Run they stay aggressive and push their way out to the 33 and it's first down the rebels want to pick up the tempo first for the off he'll put the tight end in [Applause] motion right back to him on first down finding a way to put that foot in the ground and get it up to the 37 yd line solid pick up of four on first down second and six from the gun they'll try the middle they'll get the first down it's spotted on the 49 here's this offense with a fresh set of downs and that's a first for the [Applause] offense Red Pass it's complete and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain here comes the offense on second down he's just winning that match up in the slot every time and when you put him in the slot ree he's closer to the quarterback it's an easier throw we can run in we can run out and really take advantage of his versatility of the guy that slot position they'll throw it to the back on the screen not a whole lot of room there on that screen pass as it just never developed and this offense just can't afford not to get the first down here already trailing big and the rock is not their friend looking to move the change they throw it complete to the left good tackle there to stop him short of the first down it'll bring up a big decision and the rebels will punt it away on fourth down they may have to pay him overtime he's punting for the fifth time today the Kansas offense returns to the field [Applause] off play action on first down he's moving out of the pocket the quarterback bought as much time as he could but the defense got to him and sacked him and how about that play by the free safety you sort of got the Feeling somebody's man was going to be playing after that one big gamble by the defense yeah hey great job timing it up catching him off guard bringing the blitz it is now you say that because I get it it's high risk High reward that time high reward get the SA the first down sack pushes the ball back for this long second down he's stuffed after picking up one to the 23 now facing a third and long to the air it's Daniels it's complete and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one yeah and the quarterback knew exactly where he wanted to go the football had time spins the ball deep nice job by this offense understanding what the defense is giving them and creating the explosive play the j-hawks will snap it on First and 10 they'll run it out of the shotgun and that's a very productive first down play and bringing up second and three they'll go with a direct snap really nice stop there from this senior leader will they keep it on the ground again here on third down he'll keep it himself now well within striking distances that third down play gets him a first at the [Music] 29 the pull and throw off the RPO he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a pick up and moving the sticks for a first down first going to the run it's Neil gets it all the way down to the 2yd line he was fighting for that end zone and the J Hawks will try to punch it in on first and [Applause] goal he'll do it himself touchdown Rock CH and the puming has started well they go back to the option now this is the second time this QB has scored running this scheme offensively yeah and as a defense you got to understand when you're playing the option is responsibility football I got to stop my assignment I can't get caught in somebody else's business you could tell this defense not really ready for this quarterback run game they better figure it out or it's going to be a long game point the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown on the move from inside is five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 the UNLV offense ready to return to the field quickly complete using him out of the slot he has just been Unstoppable and I love putting Dynamic athletes in the slot that I can move around that I can put in motion that I can I can make him go in or out I can put him off the ball so you can't get hands on him and they've really featured this guy today they'll snap it on first down from the 35 that's for the off snagged in the middle it's Thompson they'll get him on the ground at the 46 and it'll be a first down the defense needs to have a plan for this guy they weren't ready for that one drag rout running all the way across the field the DB just can't stay with him because of his speed and as a result they give up a big one let's see if they can put the defense on its heels in first and [Applause] 10 it's reverse that one did not go well tackled in back field for a loss of six they'll line up for a second down play fast motion from the offense from the gun running back on the move and they'll stop him after a minimal pickup some third down conversions tougher than others this one a long one on third down from the 43 looking downfield and he needs a bunch and a missed opportunity on third down as the defense knocks it free and fourth down is coming up he'll call for the fair catch here candas gets the ball back and the jhawk offense is ready to go to work really good balance on that last Drive they mixed it up all over the place Jess yeah how nice too to have the defense on their heels because at this point they don't know what's coming at him they had problems stopping everything that last drive so I think this defense would come back with a little more aggressiveness I mean they let them have what they wanted now they got to dictate to this offense a little bit more last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 133 got it behind the line it's Casey he is stopped behind the line of scrimmage they'll lose yards on that one brings up third on Third and long hoping to throw beyond the sticks wide open downfield and they get him down at the 43 but this is the kind of explosive play you want to build on what a beautiful throw and catch on this play and I love the job the receiver did track ing the ball in the air nice job of locating the throw and then hauling it in The Jayhawks have their offense in high gear coming out on first down with the play fake fires deep On The Run it's CAU and you can see the offense just feeling itself they've got it down to the [Music] 21 trying play action grabbed behind the line it's case six play of the drive coming up on the second down coming up from the gun the ground game knocked down but not before he crossed into the Red Zone and picked up four yards down to the 17 third com looking downfield it's Daniels got his man on the right gets it inside the five down to the SC it'll be first and goal defense is backed up shadow of the goal post trying to defend their own End Zone touchdown Ro CH jhawk and the beat down has ensued these guys wanted to make a statement statement has been delivered it's your job to stop him no don't run the score up well do something about it think has to step up and make plays obviously they're not willing to do that so just keep running plays and keep SC [Music] they'll try to add another to their [Applause] lead and with the extra point the lead is even bigger lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive 17 let's see what he can do with the yeah and I think this offense needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt too don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board last play was a near disaster now dealing with second second and 13 he's looking to throw makes his connection they make the stop but there is a flag on the field we'll see what that's all about Ring the [Applause] defense look you want to make the quarterback feel you you want to get pressure in his face that was so close but just a tad late off the play fake on first down it's down field really good surge for this offense they move the chains and he's got it at the 34 first makes the grab it's white when you get man coverage definitely like taking advantage of the inside really quickly running a nice slant rack real quick being physical getting on the inside quarterback putting it right on the M finds just enough room to pick up a couple down to the 26 balls at the 26 it's third and short and they' love to pick up the first down and avoid settling for the field goal they get him on the ground after he gets enough to move the sticks the rebels have it with a first and 10 for the now from inside the Red Zone fires toward the target touchdown Rebels and they take it in for six more points I think the days of running backs just running downhill are out the window you better be able to do this you see The Playmakers slip him out of the back field throw him the football he'll handle the rest get in the end zone for the touchdown P unit on the field right down the middle they took it 64 yds right down the field and the Capper a 19 yd toss for the touchdown 24 he'll bring it back from inside to five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 the Kansas offense returns to the field this offense has really been clicking in the game so far Jesse no doubt everything their play caller is dialing up these guys offensively have been able to go out and execute yeah and it's just maintaining the lead keep doing what you've been doing you got a big lead let's just keep piling it on until they find an answer lost throw on first down off the play fake moves away as he feels pressure still on his feet at the 45 and a nice pick up on the run and gets down to avoid contact see if they can turn this drive into points they've got it first and 10 at the 50 runs through a tackle after the pickup of nine it's second and one I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points as they get set to snap it just about to reach the end of the quarter looking downfield it's Daniels dances away he'll pull it down there to make the Stop and we play three in this one and talk about spreading the ball around everyone getting a chance to show off the hands based on the number of targets we've seen so will the beat down continue or is this a comeback for the ages in store we'll see as we start the fourth hand off from the gun makes the tackle at the 31 it's a pick up of five on the play halfway there on first down it's second and five off play action fires downfield got his man to the left he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up man a first down for this offense first down Kansas on the ground it's Neil this always is the debate of where you fall it's your job to stop me or I should get concerned cuz this offense obviously has had themselves a day and apparently their day not they're going to continue to keep scoring and the defense better do something about it and the extra point was good they finish the drive almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown 59 2 on the run from inside his own five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 UNLV ready to go back to work on offense he'll come out throwing on first down slings it downfield and the pass is intercepted nice job on this defense that might be the exclamation for 4 I got to lead bring on the nickel defense you know they're passing the football for plays just like that to make the int and almost put this one away [Music] and the offense back on the field ready to dial up ball [Applause] ples from the gun they'll try to impose their will he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 looking to pass it's Daniels unleashes one holds it in and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop that's great execution between the QB and receiver they look like they could execute that throw in their sleep quarterback took his steps threw it on time great route by the receiver nice job securing the catch now inside the 20 first and 10 from the [Applause] 18 movement here from the tight end to the ground with the back and a nyd gain on first down leaves him with second and short bring up second down he's looking to throw he caught it he'll be sto just short of the end zone but they'll have it first and goal the j-hawks are on the Move first and goal Kansas Quick touch pass to the receiver touch down Kansas and The Stomping has commenced points points and more points this offense has had their way they just keep their foot on the gas keep putting up points keep putting up touchdowns and you know what this is one of those stats days you look back and you're like that guy had 12 touchdowns in Le well four or five of them might have been in this game lining up for the [Music] Pat and with that extra point the lead remains in the gargantuan category about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 on first down here comes this offense they'll come out on this drive and let it rip receiver looks it in it's complete he make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down back to throw it's sluka he makes the grab and how about that catch and run so dangerous this guy they'll line up right at the 48 yd line on First and 10 he's going to pass now he's going to break the pocket going to try to get it himself a really nice run and gain and he gets down to avoid taking punishment and the rebels getting set on First and 10 he wants to throw unloads to the white out got it in the middle it's fight that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk explosive plays the defense finally able to make the stop they'll throw it from the Red Zone and good coverage there to knock it away and deny the score second down coming up after the incompletion back to the passing game grabbed in the back field it's Thomas stopped after making the catch if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum third the give to the running back from the shotgun and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the Stop and for the second time tonight they'll try out the field goal kicker it's good I wouldn't say they cut into the deficit they sort of microscopically uh edged off the deficit still a m [Music] they'll kick it away after putting up a field goal on that last Drive kick away he'll start the return inside his five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Kansas gets the ball back and the jhawk offense is ready to go to work looking for a crease it's Neil just searching and working for The Running Room as he gets it out to the 26 good spot after that seven yd pickup on first down it's second and three wide receiver now comes in motion leaves it with the back he'll move it up to the 37 yd line and it'll be a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of downs takes a hand off and he's going right that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven the give to the tail back they finally get him on the ground with the big running PL moves to change for the first down big reason why his team has the lead right now late is because of his performance running the football well over a 100 yards in this game they knew that they were going to have to really put a lot of pressure on him he'd have to shoulder the load and he has delivered for his offense all game long and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine went to the running game on first down now here they come again to give as they work on that clock and a good solid pick up for the defense Cuts him down after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again to throw it's Daniels it's complete all right they get the completion don't get the first down so we've got a massive decision now fourth in inches personally I like QB sneak I think that picks it up right here no matter where you are in the field you can keep this drive going the UNLV offense ready to return to the field always good to get points on a drive David but Chip Shot field goals can leave you a little empty and I think it's great to get points but the great teams get touchdowns in the red area you got to get out there this time and execute a little better on this drive you're absolutely right David generally the best Red Zone offenses are the ones that run the ball the best so let's see if they can be a little bit more physical on this drive brought down at the 45 after a 15yd pickup now a first down from the 45 yd line at 45 y looking to move it through the air firing to the right complete they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground covered pick up the first the aerial assault continues fires to the tight end and he might be known for run pitch but that was a sure and heavy tackle on the tight end he's looking to throw on Third and short that pass not close as he got thrilled trying to deliver it and it'll bring up fourth [Applause] down and the ball hits at the three and gets into the end zone it'll be a Touchback the Kansas offense returns to the field they're in command of this game now let's see if they try to rub a little salt in the wound are happy with getting to double yeah and listen this this makes the postgame handshake fun sometimes if you do choose to rub a little salt in it and keep
