out the show and the thing I really try to push for is hey if you're willing to come on the show schedule wise whatever we start at 9: you don't have to be there right at the start you can show up when you want leave when you need to and I I I kind of want to keep that right that that feeling of like you don't have to be here right as we start and you don't need to be here the whole time right today but my Tik Tok video did uh the day of yesterday when it was announced It's All Digital it's it's going all digital right like I'm telling you right now the ps6 the next Xbox it's going to be 100% digital maybe at the start of those consoles they'll have limited disc drive options and they may get to the point where they just discontinue those or I wouldn't be surprised if one of the major players whether it's Microsoft or Sony with the next console announcement it's 100% digital I don't know and speaking of 100% digital Darren is here hello I'm not really here because I'm digital no uh what do you think of the whole PS5 Pro situation with the uh no it this drive is an option but you have to pay like over $100 so it's basically over 800 bucks for The Full Experience what do you think yeah I mean I'm not like a huge gamer or anything like I don't I don't keep up with all the news and stuff but like just the price seemed pretty ridiculous I was like oh that's a lot of money for a a console that seems not that different from what you know people just bought uh and it hasn't been that long since the PS5 right like it's still pretty new four years I think the pros for the last consoles were the same time fouryear run um and speaking of a four-year run he's still a baby Johnny um but yeah I I really do think the ps6 and the next Xbox are going to be 100% digital with an option to get disc drives but then they're going to be phased out I mean yeah yeah I think it's they lowkey kind of tried to do it with the PS5 from The Jump by just offering the digital version yeah both both yeah both major both major Microsoft and Sony now Nintendo didn't do that but I really do think oh look at that butt look at that butt yeah um but I really do think that well I here's what I'm hoping first of all Sony listens to the feedback and I'm hoping Microsoft's listening because if they announc that the the Xbox series X or whatever Pro that like the next upgraded console version is disas only and there's an option there better be a disc version cuz it's going to be the same thing with them too a problem oh I love it is that one of the new hats yeah I bought some Halloween hats it's a oh you can't really see oh it's a Lorax okay okay I like it speak for the trees yeah man save the trees get I can't see the in my that's funny I love that yeah I I um this this whole announcement was stupid it reminds me back back when I was we lad when the PS3 was announced that announcement was a disaster they like over $100 more than the Xbox 360 it was bad mhm and then Sony turned it around for the PS4 Xbox One PS it came out the next day for Xbox disaster like always on connected it's a $100 more PS4 came out the gate swinging $100 less backwards compatibility all this [ __ ] and now we're back to Sony [ __ ] up again yeah I mean I don't know I I I don't know like I know I know you're a Sony Fanboy I got it I'm literally on my PlayStation right now I was playing fortnite before I got in here um I was just looking at stuff I loock but yeah I don't know I mean like for what it is 700's kind of like [ __ ] insane and I don't think they're going to back down from it I think it's just going to be 700 they're not just going to drop the price well I wouldn't say drop the price I would say they need to like make some make changes put put the stand in there that's 30 bucks they're keeping that se they they could definitely do that and they should do that that's insane when I heard that I was like okay now that's like that's pretty bad the dis dy I don't care about that a stand I mean like I care about the dis I have the dis version of the PS5 because I'm still a boomer who likes physical media um but I've kind of just accepted that like digital was just gonna kind of take over it I mean I literally bought today because it's on sale for like 35 bucks Liza P that like a Pinocchio you know Dark Souls like and I bought that digitally cuz it was on sale cuz I but I bought C digitally and you can go on like eBay it's like a ripoff eBay based cons marari I really use that a lot on my app on my phone and you can get a lot I bought a lot of physical games that's how I bought Deadpool on PS4 because you can't get it digitally anymore so I still buy disc games and they're sometimes way cheaper on there but a lot of times in the digital sales I'm like I can't pass up a game that's $60 for 20 bucks well that's what they do they do a lot of digital sales that they just don't do for physicals so now really all it is for me is like if there's a collector edition of a game I'm excited for that I want that's probably the physical I'll get unless there's a sale in the physical and not in the digital so I mean yeah I got the disc version of the PS5 also because you could play PS4 games on it so yeah and I have a lot I have a huge library of PS4 games that I'm not going to get rid of because they're they're you know just switching on over you know so I mean like the digital thing like I get it like it's not great but I've kind of just accepted that's just that's just kind of what's Happening um but like the the stand is nuts I thought it was kind of funny like I watched moist criticals video on it where like they were using like the last of us two as like the demo for the for the console and it's like yeah I mean you can't really tell a difference like between the PS5 and the PS5 Pro gameplay like it's a beautiful looking game regardless like really the only difference is like oh it's 60 FPS and it looks good now but you could play on a performance mode it's still 60 FPS and it still looks really [ __ ] good so it's just like and the number they showed or PS4 yeah which is hilarious oh but they re-released on PS5 but it's still based on the PS4 yeah it's still a PS4 game like I don't know why you're not showing like God of War Ragnarok Spider-Man 2 I mean they did show Spider-Man 2 um for like a second and it was kind of funny the Highlight like the games that are PS5 yeah like only or like they were initially built for the PS5 there's not that many right yeah I was going say that's kind of thing there's not a lot of like big PS5 exclusives so far black myth wuk they could have showed off some gameplay there they could like say God War ROK they could have showed more of that they could was also on PS4 Fair Point ROK but ROK really shine on the PS5 like it wasn't like yeah I think of that as a PS5 title like they just kind of put on PS4 to be nice really that's that's a PS5 game because last was part two was PS4 and then it got upgr that came out like 2020 like yeah so literally it's like okay guys um that's that's like the difference like the the last was part two premiered on PS4 like last big PS4 game and PS5 yeah yeah and then God of War kind of was like one of the first like really like big franchises coming back besides like Horizon and stuff like Horizon I don't know is that PS5 or was that PS4 and PS I know I know a lot games now are PS4 and PS5 well the the the Horizon sequel was like a launch PS5 game like I don't know I think they showed footage of that I think but it's funny like they they show side by side you don't really see much of a difference no you don't and you know I'm The Last of Us Naughty Dog fan boy and I was sitting there and I was like yeah I'm not moved by what I'm seeing it's just like I see the last part two which is great I think it looks fantastic regardless have a PS5 but I already have the remastered version on my PS5 like I'm not going to get a PS5 Pro so I can play the remastered version on my PS5 Pro like it's just it's crazy like yeah feels like they really want like a three just for they can show off a new Last of Us thing they just like well we just keep redoing the a way to do it right oh here's the first official look at last part three hypothetically with the on the pro me me and me and Ronan are holding out for Last of Us day on the 26th that we get some typ of like decent this month yeah this month a couple weeks we're we're holding out hope for some type of announcement we're bare minimum show trailer oh we're hoping for game stuff because it's not that far away right it's not like next year yeah it's supposed to Premiere beginning of next year I'm pretty sure I bet it's yeah they show at first trailer I mean we got that little like feature thing on like HBO like what's coming soon I remember when they did that for the first season D the trailer wasn't far behind that so I fixed the timeline and I mean like how could you not on Last of Us day release The Last of Us season two trailer that would be a complete UT failure and I'd cry myself to sleep um well then again back on how companies decide to do you think they're going to do some [ __ ] and they screw up because me and Darren were there live watching all of the Disney d23 [ __ ] and oh they're not dropping a uh a trailer for Daredevil officially online oh the next day during the animation we're not dropping anything no trailers [ __ ] it no trailers Spider-Man is so confusing because I it's supposed to be like November I'm wondering if it's not if it's no longer coming out this year because like did you see that thing that came out this week about like a prequel comic where they show like oh yeah there's a prickle comic and here's some looks at like wait a minute that's cool give me the actual show yeah well I saw the thing that was very concerning I hope it got shut down that like spiderverse is like indefinitely yeah I'm glad that got shut down so make make establish a team and then you bring in the um the aces like him you bring in other characters that are formidable and well beloved I agree I agree um I like how Alexander didn't say anything to to Johnny he's like whatever yeah it's fine I know I'm not loved I mean it's it's that's Darren's actual hair yeah yeah I was born with a Lorax on my head that's Canon it's a Canon EV can event yeah I think I think eternals is better than tple 3 I agree yeah see dead Wolverine is is a better movie but I'm one of the few that loved Eternal as movie now is it perfect no it's not perfect but I still I love the freshness it brought in and also a cool entry way to go with the MCU and I think I told you about this guys before like celestials over a new big baddy I'll take the celestials in my opinion they're already in the verse people know about them more or less and it's good way to go in for it but Eternal St is not going to happen apparently I don't know I think might be better but I prefer Deadpool any day like I I'm happy you guys feel so positively about eternals because I think it's a big piece of [ __ ] um and I think deadpol 3 absolutely destroys it um but that's just me I very bored with it I can't stand eternals it's probably my least favorite Marvel movie oh wow so yeah this guy he's so obsessed with Transformers one I think this is all like just it's all a farce it's like when Gore came in here that one time promoting uh Madam Webb I think it's all just that was real what are you talking about yeah he's I like how he's pretend like okay I got this um got paid 20 bucks wow um join the magical world join the Fantastical Marvelous World of Sony um could be like the flash with blood could spell my name right that's even more disrespectful is like it's a piece of Cinema we're like okay it must be [Laughter] Cinema man best horror remake of all time o that's good that's a really good question there's been a number of bad ones Mary Poppins um honestly the first one that comes to mind for me is uh fed Alvarez Evil Dead o um yeah I've heard does The Last of Us count kind of well you can make the argument that DAV Corner BG's the fly you know because it's it is there was an original one back in the 50 so you know I think if Gore was here he would have been like the John is things and I would you know agree but I I would leave him to say that PR kind of the thing is like the easy answer I like showing Evil Dead some love Yeah well the most modern one is a prequel yeah well that speak no evil that's coming out with James makoy everyone's tired of that trailer too they're saying that that movie is really good heard so yeah I think the trailers look terrible but like I said I think the trailers look terrible but it's probably going to be a good movie Just CU James makoy and it looks like that's kind of what's Happening it's not it's not a remake but I think in terms of like a Resurgence of the franchise where it kind of fell as [ __ ] was the first Halloween in 2018 that first film return to form I'm looking up like remakes just to see even though it from what I heard because I'm not I like Halloween but I'm not a big guy who's follow the franchise they took moments from almost every movie you know when he pull when he drops the teeth and there was a bunch of stuff from different movies went up but you know yeah evil dies tonight superhero movie villain um damn Madam web's villain yeah that's pretty bad probably that's probably it oh the villain from Catwoman I really like the Marvel enoy that movie but that had a very bad villain that had a very bad villain that's the worst part of that movie it's kind of hard to pick because like bad villains you just don't remember I remember even as a kid it was that movie in Catwoman that I'm like there's stuff I like here but there's stuff that what the [ __ ] is that the comics what is this the V uh dark Phoenix was really bad too dark terrible oh her name he's terrible you got the MCU punching bag of malakith from D Dark World insane because if well I know you won't watch the show because you're not a child um but I am but Avengers Ur might his Heroes did malakith so well that animated show did Malik so well my God someone say the scr s were done better there than oh yeah oh definitely cuz they they ended season one was scroll cap I'm like and they wait like with audiences that know that when he shows up on something he's GNA deliver and entertainment it's like well as you know whether people you know where our grandfather directors agree with it or not Batman is one of the iconic fictional characters of all time you know he's up there with Shakespeare yeah so it's like but you gotta be committed I guess I just I I kind of just want for like the trilogy I kind of want like newbie actors like people like I don't want these big household names like I think David was a perfect choice because not that he was never in in anything but like he's a fresh face and now he can kind of morph himself around Superman I think Batman and Wonder Woman if you could do that with them tooo would be really cool um but you know it's it's up to them I guess I think DC is going to want a couple names just to kind of get them on the map just because they're kind of they need something I think so I think for Batman they kind of want to try to hit a home run with like a big name Fair maybe Wonder Woman it's like a lesser known list like David Corn sweat for Superman like Wonder Woman's a lesser known you get Batman who's your main Marquee character yeah a name and then maybe you surround that name of Batman and Braven the Bold with a lesser unknown Damian yeah I'd be fine with that a lesser unknown Nightwing a lesser unknown ptir not [ __ ] Oracle girl um yeah I love Oracle but yes I agree yeah Oracle later not now fair enough and then say Green Lantern like they were going for big names it seems like Green Lantern at least maybe the how Jordan's a big name and a lesser unknown for John Stewart you know what's weird for how I was thinking the the dude from the Transformers movies there always like Colonel General Josh duam I think that's his name or where it's like you know him from stuff and yet you could build the foundation of him being cocky he voiced a great Harvey Den in the long Halloween uh animated movie he did I'm pulling up an image him right now let's see here I could yeah I could see it and he was a guest uh appearance in the show 112263 which is really good and he was menacing in that one so if he wants to get dark do that I could I could see him as yeah they're they're clearly going for an older Hal and a younger John so I could see Hal I can see it yeah I can see his Hal not not as John Stewart but as Hal Jordan I would help see I think I can see Hal Jordan being Parallax or aiming to be going for that paral paral um sorry Parallax look by the time they finished the 10year plan yeah oh yeah that's something that people are have to take a while to grasp their their minds to get across okay he's becoming another entity past you know just getting used to him being in the suit and being a cop a space cop if you will 100% I think out of all the names we've heard so far I think Chris Pine is the one I'm kind of like gravitating towards the most like I I I can just see that casting now I don't know what it's it's got Rebel Ridge is that the movie that's out now on Netflix yes because everyone saying this guy needs to be John Stewart after seeing the movie that he needs I need watch it but I could see it to an extent yeah I don't know I mean I've heard the movie is great I heard he's amazing in it so and this is the movie interestingly enough I didn't think about the connection this is the movie that John boa walked out of while they were filming it really yeah he he check this is the movie that he was he was starring in for Netflix he went home after a day of shooting checked out of his hotel didn't tell anybody they found out the next day he was checked out and he just went home what the wow yeah so they had to re so they recast him with that guy a couple weeks later and they had to completely re-shoot everything whoa but apparently this guy did an amazing job people are saying well I'm glad John left because this guy crushed it so that's I don't know why he left but like I was I've been hoping well Oscar he's taking care of he he knows how to handle Indie stuff and other big stuff but like I was hoping like Daisy and John would spread their wings more and do more the stuff like if you haven't seen Detroit or the woman King there's another good couple J performances so it sucks that he walked up but yeah I haven't seen it yet but the word of mouth has this fool nailed it and I go John Stewart Comics yes to me it's F Mar's John Stewart that I'm like you gotta get that you gotta get that guy who has discipline just can be fun and yet could be loyal to the integr yeah I mean it's so it's so I'm so happy we're even having this conversation cuz like 5 years ago we wouldn't be talking about Green Lantern castings like we wouldn't be talking about an upcoming Green Lantern show it's a mad world we live in right now if you think about it because nobody would think Grand uh Green Lantern would be the Forefront of things you know for the DCU because we haven't had a Green Lantern project in over a decade yeah think about it the last time the last time we had a Green Lantern project was in 2011 now we're in 2024 and we're literally having discussions about who could play the next H Jordan who's going to play John Stewart yeah ironically we've had stuff like eternals and War bonide and Creature Commandos and Peacemaker has made a big debut into po culture before the lantern like that's shocking and yet it's almost complimentary to the mythology of those books like even the most obscure characters aren well known you could do something with them because it takes away the um the the microscopic look upon the world into you know the usual suspect which is Batman Superman Wonder Woman so but yeah that's boners and that's why I'm excited for James gun honestly because really I know nothing about DC besides Batman like I just grew up on Batman and I didn't like Superman so I kind of just like ignored the rest of DC so like I I have no input on any of the casting really besides Batman because that's the only the character I know but I'm just excited that James gun's like finally kind of bringing other DC characters to the plate instead of just like another Batman another Superman another Wonder Woman Like actually getting Justice League characters and other DC characters in movies and shows is actually cool because I want to learn more yeah yeah and and and it's exciting just we're moving forward with anything cuz like love or hate the like DCU we weren't moving forward at all we were like stagnant for like five five six7 years of just like well no Superman and no Batman and you know we don't we can't use this character and this character like we moving forward where they a a Superman movie has been filmed peacemakers filming they're casting Green Lanterns Batman two Batmans are coming like it's an exciting time for this whole like Universe like it's it's so exciting yeah and you look at something like this to where this is real like Mr terrific terrific yeah yeah and the fact that we're going classic Superman yeah that's kingdom come but like I love that suit the problem is with the suit I have a problem with the suit oh it doesn't fit that's the one thing and the second thing is why bring back the undies on the new 52 design because man I I told you I knew from day one James gone is taking over he we're gonna agreed to let him use it for rogue one and now they're going yeah we can just use it and now they're planning on putting him in Andor and maybe they're just like no no we only said you could use this one time maybe that's could to be Frank if you look at the the the making of the act that they chose to moap for Tarkin almost looks like Tarkin and it's at this point like why don't I have to do moap or you know the uh um what's the term the [ __ ] the the yeah you don't have to do that just hire that dude and just like put him up in the suit and he can talk like tar he the posture comes out and it's it's not necessary you know I don't know just wild it's for one yeah I'm I'm reading this here so it says in the actual the Times article this is coming from Fran's company tyburn film Productions is suing the Disney subsidiary Lucas film which owns the rights to Star Wars and lunic heavy Industries the producer of Rogue one he also brought claims against the executiv of Cushing's estate who have both died and Associated inter internal management the agency that represented Cushing until his death goes on to say the Disney companies believe that they claim that they did not H believe to get permission was required to rec recreate Cushing because of the terms of his contract in the original film and the nature of the special effects however after being contacted by Cushing's agent they agreed a payment of the actor's estate of 28,000 pounds or I don't know what that P the actual uh value vbucks vbucks UK pounds basically to clear the use of his appearance the high court was told Francis 75 who is seeking less than 500,000 made a number of films featuring Cushing including the ghoul legend of the werewolf and the mask of death the actor signed the agreement not to allow His Image to be used without francis's permission in 1993 while pre preparing to make a television film called a Heritage of horror which was not completed the court herd so I interesting I'm not seeing anything about Andor season 2 but I think this may have been in the works for a while and they probably had to like go through old contracts and stuff to find a way they could go after them I don't know so it basically it looks like it's a friend in a filmmaker that worked with kushin back in the day that found this contract where he signed back in 93 for a film they can't use his likeness so I don't know maybe the Star Wars contract Back in 77 was different I don't know it's interesting OD oh so so OD but here's the here's the thing if this gets thrown out this could open the floodgates of like they could they could find loopholes to start using more dead actors or bring them back in this way I mean I think he he he looks great it's just the eyes are thrown off but man if they if they get to go ahead to go hey okay we can use Cushing now we can keep bringing H that actor back yeah it's setting up a president that would be pretty bad potentially yeah it's weird man like the only I've only seen it done well which is in my in Star Wars which is the two shots in book of bit with Luke like when he's sitting down it's just like God damn that looks like 4K footage from they gave them a settlement to pay to so so they can continue without because they knew if we don't they could they could because we permission yeah they just getting some finicky [ __ ] because and they also got sued a couple years ago at least there was something that came out I think last year of they were wanting they were trying like a company was going to go after Disney for like usage of some sort of program for beauty the Beast live action they didn't get permission to use this program the Disney's is like I don't know very sketchy yeah I think yeah no family friendly company no never Dylan are you worried they're going to use your likeness for genie in anything upcoming since you you know what if they were to use my likeness for Genie would be my genie likeness and not mine so let them okay also too so when I when I and when I worked there I had to sign a thing saying that they could use my likeness you know however they wanted they could used so they could have used me in ads and everything like that and I wouldn't gotten any extra compensation or anything like did but but yeah they but fortunately it was they didn't own this they owned what the makeup and everything was but at like when you were actually Genie like that's what they own exactly gotcha that's that's still weird man like if if they were to use your likeness to promote the the musical and the play and everything and then they and but they don't give anything extra no that's yeah that's crazy that's sketchy yeah that's the Dark Side of Hollywood when were uh October of 2005 until the very last show in 2016 for what project uh Aladdin a musical spectacular at Disney idea yeah okay yeah that that's how I found him on Tik Tok he was talking about he show he shared clips and there's like there's like Clips in I think the the full show at the last show is completely on YouTube yeah I think a bunch of full shows are on YouTube but yeah the and I've actually found a few different uploads of the the full last show on YouTube I'll tell you this still talking about Disney and parts that I played for them so I got to do something really cool this summer uh so I was at the d23 Expo this summer and they had um the Marvel Booth uh was a walkth through of the TVA yeah okay and at one point so they're all these like time doors at one point and you're just see they've got like all the costumes from they had all the Deadpool and Wolverine costumes they had all the bunch of Marvel costumes and that sort of thing and then you come to one time door and it's rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy and he's interactive and you can talk to Rocket and you know and it's not just like a head he moves back and forth and everything like that I was rocket awesome that's you so I mean I there were five of us who did it because it had to be all day so we were on a rotation but yeah I got I got one of the Rockets it was and I'm standing in like a little room like 300 feet away from the bo like I'm not even in the like Marvel TVA setup I'm like in a totally different room um but it's all taped off with what the guests can see there's a camera and a mic and everything so I can see them I'm hooked up with a mic so I can talk to them and just I'm not even in a mocap suit I'm dressed in my street clothes and they're just map cameras all around me and they all once they mapped my skeleton into the computer every move I made rocket would make it down to my fingers and everything it was czy it was so cool yeah I had heard Marv did that it was TVA it was X-Men 97 stuff that like they pimped out at their booth and what not so it was so cool they they had like a a whole like thing with when you go into the TVA Miss minutes comes out as a presentation it looked really great that's crazy how far the technology has come where you didn't have to wear like an actual map suit you just as you close and just yeah there was there was like nine or there's like nine or 10 cameras around me c ing all that and then just off of an eye patch it was doing a facial capture for my face so when I spoke any you know uh Expressions that I made rocket would make if I moved a certain way his we ears would igle wiggle I could even like interact with my own ears like if my like I'm not wearing anything but if I if I were like move my hand up there the ears would react to it if I moved the tail would swish it was crazy that that that's insane that's insane that is crazy see I would want to work at the park at least like as a w off for like for like a few weeks or months but I also heard stories and I'm just like I don't know well I mean I mean again this was just for d23 so it was just for that weekend so I was there you know working on it for the week and then I did the convention but when I did when I did the Aladdin show I mean yeah I was there for 10 years but that wasn't exactly like working at the park like I'm not in the parades I'm not walking around interacting with guests I'm not running a ride or a turo stand or anything I'm in a theater I come through a back door at the beginning of the day I leave through that door at the end of the day I'm backstage the whole time if I'm not on stage and then there's me and the audience is out there I didn't have to interact with the public would would you have liked to have done that to go out as Genie and interact with people or no no gotcha all right guys listen I've got to head off because it's only like 3:30 in the morning sorry thanks being here appreciate it take no problem I'll be here next certain shows uh we would do meet and greets like if you know Friends of the cast or family of the cast would come and you know I I help facilitate a couple of engagements a couple times but those like really small we had a couple like make a wish kids come through to interact with them yeah those were cool but I never had to be like out in the park so because there was there was the park Genie which is like the big head and everything like that yeah yeah and there was me which is all the makeup and Prosthetics and two very different things like they were like who's that and that was the distinction like the the one in the park was the genie we were very specifically no we're the show we are performers playing these roles oh okay so that's how they made the distinction because they're very particular about that like I know that there's like rules where you can't dress a certain way when you go into the parks because it may come across like oh you're like trying to pretend to be like a princess and like it's I don't know I know that's like a whole thing yeah can't go in full costume so now what do people a lot of people do what's called bounding yeah where they'll dress in a way that suggests a character yeah I know when uh Galaxy Edge first open it was like I don't want nobody dressing up like a Jedi nobody dressing up like X-Wing Pilots it was just a big no until specific dates where they were celebrating Star Wars stuff and I I get it to next extent like and yeah I know if I had the chance again for few weeks be an alien at Galaxy's Edge I would 100% do that I'm like all right cool it's not just the main characters from the shows they're promoting just it makes them more lived in in that area so in a way you you kind of get to share this really kind of special performance with you know the late great Robin Williams to you know some extent that's that's got to be pretty cool oh that's very cool yeah that that is really effing awesome I was I was gonna ask you a dark question sure when you said like the different kids like make a wish I was like you didn't pull a a train did you but then I would say that you have to be a fan of the boys to understand the reference yeah know no that's funny have you seen never mind I was gonna mention but I don't want to spark up stuff there's there there's a moment of the boys involving puppets and it project this week um where uh I'm going to be W it's called endlessly watchable I'm going to have it up on YouTube and Rumble and stuff like that where I'm basically just going to be watching movies and making my commentary on them but it's it's not like my first time reacting it's just like why what makes these movies the kind of movies that we can watch over and over and over and over and over again so I recorded my first one this week I'm still putting it together but it was episode four W the first star war the first Star Wars and I recorded it um and I'm getting ready I'm getting ready to do it and I get the word that James charl Jones had died so I'm like this is perfect that this was what I'm starting with it's crazy timing you know I had a similar idea for a podcast I tried to start years ago called like the magic of movies because that's a essentially the idea that that it evoked so yeah good on you that that sounds like a lot of fun like just going back into seeing why these you know big special movies continue to have just such a ma massive presence in pop culture today that's a perfect starting point too especially given real world circumstances yeah yeah well then and like the idea behind it too is like these are going to be you know movies and TV shows for me that I can watch on repeat and that I know a lot of people can but then hopefully I'll get to a point where because I've I've had people like recommend things to me it's like okay when I get through my list or whatever or I'll just start like doing grab bags it's like okay somebody this is somebody else's endlessly watchable thing I'll watch it react to it and see if I can find because e even even just in watching episode four um a couple days ago it's amazing to me how I've seen that movie I don't how well over a hundred times or whatever and that especially now watching it with this perspective of like you know so what makes it so good what makes just from a filmmaking aspect and from a fan aspect I'm still I'm now picking up things that I still haven't caught before which is amazing it's the magic of film making and just like and not and not the you know new CGI crap and mclan and all that that they've added I mean things from the original I can't I can't really condone the whole edition of Jaba the Hut that's one addition that I'm just like George I love you but that was really un ranted through that whole scene how unnecessary that was yeah I love Java but that's not necessary that that scene just feels so so well it's almost it's almost word for word his conversation with greo like you don't need it is that is that the part where he circles Jaba and they have to include him stepping on the tail at first Jaba was just some guy it was just a dude yeah I remember I actually remember years ago and you can probably find it on YouTube or something somewhere original of the original footage of the guy yeah then they cged over with Java he some short fat dude with a Scottish brogue or whatever and they should have kept that in screw it seriously what would happened and then have to explain how he turned into a slug yeah he felt he he fell into a wormhole or something and landed in the landed on Dune and then he's back Wormhole well I mean like Star Wars was in in in certain ways inspired by Dune you'd have to imagine like Java the Hut to some extent was probably inspired by like some form of like the baron or the sandworm a combination of It's a combination probably yeah well what's even funnier is like if you read the further into the doomed books is like that's exactly what happened to Paul tra's son he becomes like this [ __ ] weird sandor human thing it's yeah soin George is like I want to yeah I think that's a good idea I'm G [ __ ] do that hell yeah do that in my movie spice spice spice flow we be spent we'll be sent to the spice mans of Castle and smashed into who knows what that's right yeah literally Man solo was so underrated I I [ __ ] love that movie his charm I love all the the um almost said Crimson Tide um Crimson Dawn Crim allm it's just like perfect Edition yeah yeah I just finished a rewatch of Andor okay there you go so good I'm waiting for my Blu-ray to come in like I need that in the collection that's cool but yeah Mr Jones I'll say this he lived the I think people have been saying this he lived the life and speaking of re of rewatching stuff and the magic mostly 99.9 probably all his movies are rewatchable like he put on Lion King any anytime I see a Sunrise I think of that monologue you know you have to think of Star Wars just think of the silhouette of Vader and you instantly think of you hear his voice yeah his voice yeah and apparently one of the nicest sweetest men you could ever meet yeah yeah he's also one of the few actors the very very few actors who is an egot yeah talk about of flex yep only only one of the very few actors with an Emmy a Grammy an Oscar and what's the last one a uh Tony yep thank you that I always tell it when I when I would see him pop up in a movie or something and I would like get Giddy and people be like why are you excited like that's Darth Vader actually I introduced my wife to the movie sneakers a couple weeks ago is that the Robert Redford one Robert Redford one from the earlys and James Earl Jones is uh the guy from the NSA and that one that's right yeah he played he played some CIA guy I think in in the Jack Ryan movie the two Harrison Ford ones yeah right I love his low appearance in The Big Bang Theory oh yeah know yeah go when he dingdong ditches Carrie Fisher James or whatever yeah then why am I still laugh oh man yeah that dude was H I still Conan like yeah I love his role in Sandlot he the end oh you're not what does he say you're dead where you stand or he goes something like that but baseball was life and I was really good at it very good yep yeah tell Mr Jones you boys come by once a week talk ball with me call it even deal just his his whole gravitas the sense and like just presence that man had no matter what was just undeniable so inspiring he's just such a damn good person such a great actor his seen the clips I've seen of his um performance in fences just like damn I was like and I like the den Washington vers but I was just like I've never seen Mr Jem like this ever before yeah yeah I think Des was spoke out about his passing like he's the reason I do I do what I did I do what I do or something like that yeah I love Mark hls um he said rest in peace yeah yeah see what has he done kind of like on those lines of like people being you know Star Wars families I saw youan McGregor is gonna get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yeah good let's go you McGregor I guess Hayden Christensen is gonna be uh making the dedication speech or something I love yeah good that makes perfect sense that makes total sense yeah I wish I was back in LA to prend those ceremon just to be like yeah but then you'd have to be in LA play yeah yeah even though yes has its ups and downs yeah lit like figuratively and literally literally and figuratively yeah his last role let's see the last role he did for TV I you know I don't think it was technically his voice it was just like aversion or like a computer thing for obw Kenobi for Vader um for show but the last film was coming coming to America to America yeah oh yeah the oh yes is he not voicing Mufasa in the Mufasa movie no not at all wow well I don't know if well I don't know if there's like a scene or something at the end or whatever but like it's not it's not been announced but I mean I wouldn't be surprised if we hear him at the end of the movie transition to like if Sim if it transition to Simba being born like in the prequel like type of the story they're telling then maybe that' be amazing if he was actually in it for like IM now that that movie doesn't have like a in memory and loving memory of that's such a simple addition there there's no way they're not going to do it if they don't Disney can just [ __ ] all the way off but I I don't see them not doing that so yeah whether or not he's actually in that I think is is going to be be the question but you know yeah that in theory would be his last role but but you're right I think the last thing he he performed in was uh Coming to America yep Coming to America yeah we never know man I every every week I see a new land movie um that's true or like for a good time or the after like Kevin Conroy passed away Batman they kept saying oh he's uh he's got one more role in sus no that's actually in chist part three um arguably the best thing about part three of Crisis oh yes true oh the scene yeah yeah didn't like it yeah yeah hated it it was that whole trilogy was just not well thought out like this is the second time one of Brothers in DC have tried to adapt crisis and I'm just like you guys just kind of missed the mark in in certain ways depending on which version you're talking about that three-part story honestly it the first part's fine like it's a fine flash Tale the second part is just so back forth and so just not paced well and just ends so abruptly and you're just like okay I guess we're gonna have to wait till part three part three kind of picks it back up and it's just like well here's the ball what exactly do we do with it oh GE I don't know let's just go ahead and include like every little bits of everything that was kind of popular but not everything that was super popular I don't know it just felt very here's the comic that we want to do but we're not really going to do the comic that's kind of what it felt like whereas if you watch like like Watchman part one it's like oh I know exactly where this is going to end and it ends right when rhack get spoilers for [ __ ] you know almost 40-year-old story rosek gets arrested and it's like oh okay yeah that makes perfect sense for why they would there they took my face yeah but like when it came to crisis I'm just like can we just get like a page to screen at like like cuz like you this come from the same Studio that did The Dark Knight Returns Allstar Superman [ __ ] under Red Hood with the original writer from under the Red Hood adapting that I'm just like come on guys like this is George Perez like one of his most Cal pieces of work and we're just gonna just like that it kind of made it where it was like dark side was he has to exist for this to go the way it needs to go so it was like ah man we done we lost all these people but in in order to bring it back we got to make this an actual thing so I like I like that it went it kind of tied back to the previous whenever they ended whatever that DC Animated Universe whatever that long story so it kind of just ties back to that so I appreciated that man and they brought back Constantine and it was pretty little twist I think that was the last DC animated movie be besides Watchman that I had seen was the Constantine city of demon I forgot what it was the name of it demons yeah he had to sacrifice his friendship to like protect his friend's daughter and what not I was just like there that was a was able that was the same uh after party when I met Henry calv and H Barry like that we all knew when we saw Borderland at least the footage they showed the critics and press knew this was going to be bad wa and this film was shot about what two or three years ago where I think uh Ariana she was only like about what 13 or so um so this was around the time Ahsoka it was around the same time yeah but no it just like immedately when we were watching this it's just like the marketing of it and everything we were all were feeling like you know I don't know how this is going to turn out but then the box office responded uh with this though but uh I know like when people were doing press and interviews that the main thing people were asking for was a sequel of Thanksgiving and not about the actual fil you know film and everything but uh yeah Thanksgiving was good yeah give me more Thanksgiving think he's a bad director I just think that like I want him to win I just felt like this was just uh is unfortunate you know circumstance where again good IP wrong execution um and also probably maybe bad timing too um tell you the problem of the movie aier rod aier rod aier rod is known for that's what I but say they did start out with Skyrim I thought of a way that that could work say you know all those different factions that you go to that game like you've got the Brotherhood The Guild of Thieves the College of Mages all those you can essentially do each of those faction storylines in a season of TV so it's the same character going through all of it but you've got something fresh and new every time it'll be somebody that's destined to kill the big dragon and then they'll go through the world and they'll kill the big dragon I know I know one point Netflix was developing Horizon zero Dawn and that kind of fell through so does I think there's an anime still being worked on or something like that I don't know yeah or not anime but it's gonna look like an anime a franch only to movies right yeah only movies I would I I gotta say X-Men I grew up on those X-Men films I know they're not perfect but I mean I love the planet the but I mean dve future P you got Logan you got Temple Wolverine are we cting the Deadpool ones in there you have to because they're part of the X-Men it's a part of it Deadpool might be what kind of just s me because honestly I was going to go I don't know I was thinking playing the Apes just because I think they're more like they're better overall yeah yeah but have you seen the original ones I've seen literally the original one like the Dawn and War compared to the entirety of you know the all X-men it's like well those three movies are [ __ ] tough to top however in the X-Men franchise you've got [ __ ] Days of Future Past you've got Deadpool you've got Logan like there are contenders that are up there in quality but at the same time it's like which franchise do I have more love and affinity for it's X-Men it's fair but I
