because if this building comes down I'll build a bigger and a greater [Applause] one that's all that I thought about that's all I thought about if this building comes down I'll build a greater and a better one um how many of you who are inside here are members of the cvz [Music] okay well this morning there was a fire and uh I'm told that it was very very bad burnt for hours the firefighters for hours tried to put out the fire and uh they were not very successful they tried and tried and uh if you've been to the LCA in recent times you'll know that it's the most beautiful Auditorium in Lagos most beautiful that's the best worship facility frankly this part of the [Music] world multiple millions of dollars as okay you you just came from there tell me how bad was the fire from what you saw I've seen a couple of pictures but you were there yourself it's really very V the we were not able to enter the auditorium but we could see from outside I took some of the pictures the whole of the interior was coated with fire and everywhere inside actually collapsed um and including the offices the fire services that were there uh they saw that they couldn't go in so they were they were put trying to put out the fire from outside but all around including in the external the one we could see all the W were compromised in fact the only reason why the whole structure has not come down is because it is still there are still structures otherwise the whole thing would have the whole of the roof has been burnt so it's really in a very bad state so um the the whole building really [Music] has been [Music] Bunch um when something like this happens there are a number of things to remember now the uh I called The Zo and the phone who was already there and I said to her don't be moved one B yes I said don't be moved one B don't be moved I said look Beyond it that's what you do look Beyond it instead of [Music] debating the cause but not like this world we're not like this [Music] word we don't reason like this word was I surprised not not even the slightest surprise not even the slightest surprise but that's another this [Music] talk when something like this happens we have to remember that we are not of this world what do I mean by that every single day God protects us he protects us he protects everything that he gives us with his glory and his grace every single day he protects us every day his angels are with us we cannot think for a moment that God somehow is blaming [Music] us because that would mean so what was he doing if he would blame us but would that mean that if we did something this way or that way he was hamstr strong and couldn't respond [Music] no not at all was he there of course he was were his angels there of course they were every day God protects us from every evil work every day you read your Bible you understand he protects us protects us there's so much evil trying to come to us every day a lot of which we don't even see or know [Music] about and he protects us he delivers us when you're sleeping you don't know what happens and yet God takes care of you so when something bad like this happens you praise him and you thank him as he would have done if it didn't happen or if there had been some miraculous Deliverance for a testimony you thank him all the same why because you understand how he thinks how does God think every opportunity everything that happens in your life is for greater glory so our thinking should not be what a great [Music] loss we built that with everything we knew up until that time what do you think we're going to do now with what we know [Applause] better I'll never forget when the supposed bombings took place at the eak atonement they thought they thought there was war there were explosions at the Army atonement The Sounds were so loud the explosions were so loud many thought there was war and they began to flee from all that area it led to the death of more than a thousand people who tried to cross a certain Water Area a swampy area they drowned it was reported that more than a thousand people drowned as they were trying to flee there was commotion all over at Ker where it was happening and we weren't too far away the sound was so much I was in the office that day and there were several of us the whole building shook we had just finished the RCC so we came out of the building CU for every sound every explosion the building like the ground everywhere shook when just completed this building so ran out of the building and I stood behind it and all that went through my mind was if this building comes down I'll build a bigger and a greater one that's all that I thought about that's all I thought about if this building comes down I'll build a greater and a better one so we got the engineers to look at the building and everything was fine we didn't need to build another one so I said that to say this I'm still that way that's the way I think that's the way I think um when when something like this happens you look at it what does God think God just gives us an opportunity to do something about it that's all what are we going to do okay great the house of God all right it's been burnt down okay all right we'll clear out the place build a better one a more beautiful one that's that's what we're going to do that's what we're going to do let the devil liak his [Music] wounds yeah that's it cuz we we must look at life from the spiritual this is not what you call an accident no because we are not ordinary people we are helped all the time he told us even when even when you walk he says don't worry you wouldn't even Dash your foot against the stone why he said because he gives his angels charge concerning you so everything that happens in your life is on [Music] plan there's no accident to the child of God no I mean last night cvz was celebrating then then they were hoping to go to church hoping to go to church this morning and talk about it and rejoice about it and then they come and there's no church think about [Music] it they come and then there's no place they look around it's all in flames you can imagine how many of them would just be crying you know you look at it it's it's painful to watch such a thing happening and then you see the the five fighters of battling and then like you heard they couldn't even go inside Place filled with fire smoke that's the place where the sick got healed the blind received sight the deaf heard the lame walk the Dead raage think about it think about it and the gospel sent to the ends of the Earth from those very [Music] grounds so when a thing like that happens you can't think that oh God why no no no you say Lord thank you for your grace thank you for your grace thank you for your grace thank you thank you we're going to do something better thank you Lord we'll do something better Hallelujah so what you're going to do act give into it did you hear what I said that's the first way to think that's the first way to think say I'm going to give for this or going to build something better and bigger I'll give for this that's what you do in fact I remember I remember um some years ago I actually sketched what I would have wished to do frankly yes I sketched what I would have wished to do in the building and it would have required that I removed the whole roof yeah to have required several things considered what I would have done now I'm going to do it yes we've heard from our senior pastors we don't think like the war think we are going to raise a better and a bigger building
