let's welcome in comedy Legend lifelong Jets fan Adam Sandler his newest special love you is streaming now on Netflix Adam there's an old saying that comedy comes from Pain how much of your success as a comedian is thanks to your lifelong fandom of the New York Jets well at 1969 I was as happy as could be I was a three-year-old boy I was thinking about uh this could be something that goes on year after year I was promised that from my dad stick with the Jets he said and now look at us my heart hurts fellas I I'm so happy to see both of you guys love you thanks for having me glad pal we're excited to have you on Adam and and obviously you know we we had the jet week one last year of the Manning cast and Aaron Roger only lasted four plays considering he's made it through halftime like how you feeling about this Jets this year we know they're down 16 but you feel there's still still a good chance you can make a run this year I feel good I feel I mean last year we did win that first game uh there was Aaron was in pain he he hobbled off but uh he promised he'd come back he did it and look at him now he's going well he's he's moving nice back there is a few great plays I'm I'm pretty happy right now and I mean there's some pain I feel some pain but um our defense is better than this what are you doing in here cutie watching football who do you want to win the goddamn Jets thank you that was my wife Adam that was a clip from your maybe Big Daddy tell us is this how Jets fans feel right now the Jets uh they they they look there's plenty of time there's 6 minutes in this quarter there's another 40 minutes after that 50 I don't remember and uh yeah I I'm not it's not over yet you know it's 23 to7 it's not it's not that big of a deal let's see what happens let's see what happens but yeah there uh yes and you played quarterback in the longest yard number 18 great choice by the way but I read that you also played quarterback growing up in Pop Warner what happened that led you to having a career in comedy as opposed to football I can't really I mean I'm going to answer at the top of my head one time some guy speared me so hard in the arm I don't know how it happened but I had a bruise from my wrist to my elbow as a kid and I was like maybe H I gotta get out this man you guys are tougher to me I I was a I was a great uh quarterback for 11 and 12 year old and then at around 13 everyone started getting too big hey you know hey Adam this I mean this judge defense is is good and they last year they were great but I feel like they need a bourbon Bowl MVP I think they need a little Bobby bĂŠ to pop in right now and help him out what do you think you think that that would help Bobby's 57 years old right now actually 58 today it's my damn birthday happy birthday happy birthday by the way we got a gift we give you got a gift I know you got me a gift do you want me to open that open it yeah let's see here's my gift right there a drop all right let me met your uncle she dated Joe nameth now did your uncle take pride in that or did he just swear off the Jets forever see see I I don't know if it was dated as much as maybe there was a date maybe some a slow dance I don't know but I did I did Joe neth was very nice to me my uncle was nice enough and my aunt Bobby we all they all love they love n so much they bought me sweatshirts as a kid and and uh we was it was a pride thing in the household that my aunt met Joe Willie he's the man and Joe shaking my hand nice there by the way your dad I met him before what a great man he is thank you he said to tell you congratulations to the to the young Arch too no thanks Bank he is you look great kid you look good I'm your team teamate down there PT no with a crossy guy yeah why are you making that face why would you make that face though pton what is that D the win right there he always is that's my Payton you guys are good man Bobby loves you our playing Days Are Over P now what do we do not a standard broadcast we'll do a Manning cast something good that will last just a Mannings we still talking Manning cast that was great Adam you know you've been nominated for three Grammy Awards do you think what do you think of our chances or you think pton ruined it with his singing I think it's a guarantee boys I love both you both you were harmonizing you don't even realize you were the new Everly Brothers right there it was right on right on time and and who wrote that because it was incredible and whoever directed that I loved it I told how much I love it was incredible oh it was yeah you don't remember who WR did you guys write it just say you wrot it no we he does he Eli was limp Eli was limp scking the whole way it was kind of disappointing Adam I feel like I had to per you did a good job man that's your job that's your job as an older brother hey Adam back in 2015 back in 2015 the three of us actually attended Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special it was a great night we got a great picture we were all happy to be there um I think the picture's coming up here in a minute everybody happy except for uh everybody happy except for Larry David did you say something to offend Larry or just how Larry Smiles all the time he uh he seemed like he was just listening intently he's having a I think he had a great night that night we just caught him on an a moment right there but he see maybe he was getting ready to go on you never know when you're a comedian you got to go on you don't you don't laugh too much you kind of drift off into your own little world th th free play flag what happened free play that's a free play he jumped off sides Adam Aaron Rogers the master of the snap count jumped off sides he's taking his shot he's throwing it down the field no matter what perfect play L DAV a Jets man as well he'd be happy with that wow I loved it on the silent count moment look at that notice what hey PA P notice what Aaron does when he gets the when he gets the free play and so the you know he didn't call for the snap Center saw the guy jump he snapped it he looks to the sideline he sees if the ref throws the flag flag he wants to see the flag thrown sometimes he thinks they get a free play and he throws it and they don't they they they don't they don't throw they don't throw the flag that one's pretty obvious sometimes it's closer wow watch him throw the flag then throw deep that's Co a signal he gave a signal up there I think they have a run and a pass here we're going to get this I don't like that we get in there I think we did get in there seems like the fellas think so some of the ners don't think so what do we got oh boo what are they pointing that Ah that's okay still still we'll take it that's right take the touchdown did we get there elbow down elbow down oh yeah I see that that's wasn't looking at that elbow for a minute so yeah Adam I was excited to read the other day that you're filming Happy Gilmore 2 it's in the works it's happening and I saw a video of Payton at the PGA of America shoot attempting a Happy Gilmore swing and I want to show the results when we have a second here oh yeah oh let's see it let's see it wow wow wow that was terrible F that that was that was too many steps man any tips any tips like what's the key to a Happy Gilmore swing well honestly it's it wasn't too bad it was uh I go with like a three stepper four four step drop you you I think that was too many Twinkle Toes Payton yeah had twinkle to can't do that man happy Happy Feet not good what were you so happy about Larry David had someone calm him down but no I I appreciate you trying that swing it's not easy I I I'm I just started today was the first day on the set we just started shoot that movie today it was great it was fun all right so let's get the Jets cooking that that Happy Gilmore swing was better than when you're at that proam or you know the other day and you topped one off hey we don't we don't want to talk about that I got a little nervous I'd rather interceptions that I'd rather throw four interceptions on Monday Night Football than top one in front of uh you know 100 people like I did but
