such a Bittersweet day because I know how proud Rob would have been to be here but I'm sure he's with us in spirit so just yeah just he the tribute and you know we always knew we was special and I think when you know when you live with Rob is just Rob to us but I think to kind of hear all the tributes and the impact that he's had you know for the city of leads for the rugby Le community and for the M andd Community is just really heartwarming I'm immensely proud I'm immensely proud of Rob you know for for the for his rugby career and probably more so for his his his fight his bravery his courage with his battle with them but just for the family man that he was as well you know Rob put his family at the heart of everything that he did he would um often rush home from training to spend time with the children it did I think you know just everyone that had turned out to support meant a huge it was you know was a really difficult day but to see the outpouring of love and the support on the streets for Rob as as we traveled you know to to the crematorium was was incredibly special and and I'll you know remember those visions and seeing the posters and the pictures and and the people on the street wearing the shirts was was incredibly special on Friday Friday the 12th of July a solemn event was held at Leed Civic Hall to honor the life of rugby league Legend and inspirational motor neuron disease campaigner Rob burrow in memory of Rob's incredible sporting achievements and his selfless efforts in raising awareness his legacy was Remembered at a special invite only event hosted by the Lord mayor of leads councelor Abigail Marshall katal Rob Burrow's family members attended the reception alongside former teammates and close friends while while thousands more mourned together via the Leeds Rhino's Channel on YouTube as you saw at the beginning of this video Lindsay burrow shared that tributes from Rob's friends have provided strength to their family following his passing in her heartfelt words she said it's been a really tough few weeks but I've taken lots of comfort from the tributes and the messages that we've had and the outpouring of love and support and I think that just shows what a special person Rob was I wish he was here today to see that love and support for him but I know he'll be looking down and be immensely proud said Lindsay Rob Burrow's father Jeff expressed their family's pride in the support Rob received we've been proud since he was born and it just continues to amaze us how everybody supported him said Jeff we just hope that other people with M andd that didn't have Rob's platform get the support that he's got because that's what it was all about for Rob for other people Burrow's mother Irene added hopefully we get a cure for this awful awful disease what we've gone through in this Last 5 Years there'll be people today receiving that bad news if if we can find a cure that'll be absolutely amazing and that's what it's all about he's left a big hole in our lives and we'll be forever proud there won't be a day goes by that we don't think about him Rob burrow passed away last month on June 2nd at the the age of 41 after a courageous 4 and 1/2 year battle with motor neuron disease during his remarkable career with the leads rhinos Rob burrow won eight Super League Grand finals three World Club challenges and two challenge cups we extend our deepest condolences to Rob's family and ask that you keep them in your prayers don't forget to subscribe to our channel for daily news updates
